Inside is nice with lots of TV's if you want to watch a game, but we came on a random Sunday night. The server was friendly. We started with the drunken shrimp which were pretty decent the sauce is similar to a barbecue type. My friend and I both got wings. I requested them to be extra crispy which they definitely were and I liked that. The hot garlic sauce was very good as well if you like buffalo sauce and garlic, the goat dry rub was just okay nothing special. A friend got the jerk chicken tacos and thought the breading was too much but the slaw was good. My husband got the pesto chicken sandwich and said it was pretty okay. Great Spot for Drinks, Gatherings and Shareables. (3.5 Stars) We were in Columbus for business and a group of us decided to go out for drinks and some sharables after a long day. The Goat, River South location was within walking distance of our hotels and we decided to meet there. Our seven-person group was seated fairly quickly and ordered craft beers, cocktails, and wine. We moved on to food and ordered some sharables and some main courses. We ordered Italian Pizza Rolls, Sheet Tray Nachos, Drunken Shrimp, assorted tacos and some flatbread pizzas. I liked the Hot Chicken Flatbread and ordered the smaller size, and be warned, the smaller size is still a sizeable dish. Good thing I had some people to share it with. Started off my service by sitting at the bar with Ms Lynn and I got a Arnold Palmer and a shot of liquor. I asked her what she recommended on the menu and she recommended a few good items. I ended up getting the 10 piece wings with barbecue sauce and the Ranch Hand sandwich. It's only been a few minutes since I've been in here and I've already been served my drink and put my order in. Lighting is pretty low, very calm. Sports playing on the TV, music playing soft music. so far the vibe in the place is nice. It took my wing order about 13 minutes for it to arrive which is great timing, but the wings came out very hot and tasty, just the way they're supposed to be. My server has already checked on me twice to make sure I was okay which means she knows I'm still here LOL After eating my wings my burger was out within 10 minutes with Mac and cheese. The Mac was phenomenal... whoever the cook was did that. Aside from a few random conversations that I had with people sitting at the bar the whole entire experience was great and I would definitely recommend coming in here. Great food great vibes. Stayed in Columbus for the weekend at LC Guesthouse. The GOAT is in an adjacent building and delivers free if you stay at one of their apartments! Ordered breakfast: two sausage patties, two eggs two hash browns... $10!! Both of us ate and were GOOD. We had to call about our delivery and they admitting to being overwhelmed but sent someone over immediately, which they didn't have to do, I was going to pick it up since it was next door ( they deliver RIGHT to your suite door as well!) But the SWEET POTATO CHEESECAKE is the kicker ... PERFECTION. Not cheesecake with some canned mush slathered on top ... it's like oatcrusted infused into the batter EXCELLENCE. I like the ambience. The service was not the best. The food was amazing and our drinks were OK. We sat at the bar. The seats weren't the greatest, but it was nice. We were able to have good conversation with each other so it wasn't too loud. We got two drinks and the baked potato tots. They were amazing. Our drinks didn't seem to have that great of flavor the presentation of the drink really missed the mark. I don't know how to explain it except that when I got my drink I was really, OK and..... It was the most boring drink I've ever seen the lame piece of orange peel in. It just did not look appetizing and as a garnish, it was pretty lame. I suppose I'm an artistic person and the presentation of your food should entice people to want to eat it similar with a drink. It was a fun place to go. I have to say the food is good. We went here for the last day of Restaurant Week, an I wish I would have stayed home and cooked in the 90° heat. it was just not a good experience, and I feel this is a management issue more than anything else. A few minutes in, we seemed to be off to a weird start. The hostess was too busy fishing tip money out of a large jar to properly acknowledge a customer. We were eventually taken to a wet table that appeared to covered with dripped condensation from the preceding customers' glasses. Our menus were dropped onto the wet spots...which were significant. It is doubtful the table had been thoroughly wiped since the previous diners, so we asked for a napkin to remove the pooled moisture. I would expect a server to promptly wipe down the table, but we did it ourselves. The portions were very huge...and very salty. The selection was typical for a casual dining spot like Chili's or Applebee's, but we ended up spending $80 (with tip) for two Restaurant Week three-course meals with one iced tea. (The iced tea was not refilled, and that was needed with all that sodium.) Ironically, the abundant TV screens aired a Chili's commercial offering a three course meal for $10.99 and an Applebee's advertisement for their special--two three course meals for $25. The server was pleasant enough...not rude...but the overall vibe was that we were a bit of an inconvenience. The atmosphere is very loud...concrete floors and heavy chairs, which lead to people dragging the furniture to deafening echoes. For the greater part of our visit, there was a "teardown" of another section, and it seemed the chair dragging would never stop. It made it impossible to have a conversation. The service flowed slowly, and our appetizers were brought just minutes before our main meal. Due to the size and saltiness of the appetizer, I found this a good excuse to abandon the snack. We had already decided to get our desserts to go, but our server largely abandoned our table, so we never got the chance to tell her. One dessert came out....but the next took considerably longer. We were hoping to get everything boxed-up before the storm arrived, as we had walked to the restaurant. It's experiences like these that are ruining dining out, and it is so consistently sub-par, that it has to be management related. I would encourage the management to walk the floor more and stop responding to Yelp reviews with responses that discount the diner's experience. Once was enough. There is not one thing that was better than any other restaurant in Columbus. No draw to bring me back. Calling this place the GOAT seems pretty bold. read more

Came here a couple of years ago when they had an extensive burger menu that tasted fantastic so we decided to come back last month but their menu must have been revamped because the old food was not available. Great location! I don't like to be negative, so I'm just going to lay out what happened and you can do what you want with it. They greeted us right away and took us to the bar area to be seated. We were a large party of 8 so I appreciated the great service. The restaurant was less than a quarter full. I asked if we could have the table next to the one they presented because it had more comfortable seats. All the sudden a lady popped out the back and then said they were going to love us. Ok, they moved us by the cold front door but ok, whatever. The table next to us was complaining to the manager for a bit so not sure why you would put us right by them when there were dozens of empty tables elsewhere... They then got our drinks and took our order quickly. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. First person's food came approximately 30 minutes later. I was one of the first to get my food and my sweet potato fries were cold, but my happy hour hamburger was on point, would highly recommend that! The last persons food came a good 7 minutes after the first persons and it included an appetizer that they got the same late time as their meal! Zero apologies or acknowledgment about the delay for this. I understand it's a larger party but at this point there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. Not sure why the big delay. If you are looking for a good spot to get a bite to eat and see the lights at the Columbus Commons this is a great location and very clean, just be prepared for a wait. read more

I asked for it medium and was served a well done burger & as a cherry on top the patty didn't even cover the entire bun. Over cooked and small portions aside the burger was solid. Seasoned well, and it's hard to go wrong when you top a burger with bacon, onion straws and BBQ sauce. That being said the fires were actually really good. Seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The first time my wife and I went here, the place was dirty and the service was bad. We were seated immediately, and then waited 10 minutes for anyone to come by the table to take our order. Once we placed our order, it took a long time to get our food, which was average at best. We thought that maybe they were just having an off night and said we would give them another shot. We tried again last night. It will be the last time we ever go there. Neither the bar nor the seating area was crowded. We sat at the bar, which had a main bartender, supported by a couple of other servers. It seemed as if all the staff were diligently trying to avoid eye contact with us and the few other people sitting at the bar. We sat for more than 12 minutes, and not a single person acknowledged us, so we left. The restaurant and the restrooms were dirty. The tables that were un-bussed when we walked in were un-bussed when we left 12 minutes later. It's a shame that the staff seems to not care at all about the patrons. The space itself is very cool. We sat on the outside section of the bar, watching the Olympics while waiting for someone to acknowledge us. We would like to have stayed and enjoyed the space. As I said above, we will never make the mistake of trying this place again. Unless you have plenty of time to waste and a high tolerance for poor service, don't go here. read more

I originally just needed a restroom while touring around the city, but figured we might as well find out what the HH deals are. The HH menu isn't super large, but it's a good one if you're wanting a drink and maybe some wings! I got a $4 beer and the hubs got a $5 old fashion, I think it was? Pretty decent deals for going out! Then we both split the $10 beer & wings deal which was a great deal because it came with 9 wings! We got half BBQ & the other half hot BBQ. The hot wasn't too hot, which is nice because I like to actually taste my food lol. It was just enough heat to a nice little kick to the flavor. The ambiance here is super cute, there's also a nice outdoor section as well. The only downside is the goat room is SUPER chic and I totally wanted to sit in there but it's for resident only, as this place is below an apartment building. So that was kinda a bummer, but oh well! We sat outside until it started to sprinkle then went inside. The bathrooms are also super nice, with complimentary tampons, hairspray and mouthwash, which isn't super necessary but def a nice addition to the amenities. Would highly recommend! read more

The biggest let down. Listen to the reviews on slow service... our party of 2 had been seated 30 minutes before any server approached us, then another 30 until our food arrived. The restaurant was less than half full, so I was extra disappointed when the food wasn't even freshly made. My harvest salad had full apple slices that had been soaked in lemon juice (to prevent browning) and were mushy. The "roasted sweet potato" cubes were wrinkly, slimy and room temp. Our burger was missing toppings. The Italian pizza roll appetizer is FRIED, not baked. Our server herself was kind and gracious - she was great.
