Picanha with garlic fries and arugula salad

I have been here a few times and enjoy the apps here more than the food but I am okay with that. The apps I enjoyed are the muscles, the tuna poke tower, Brussels sprouts and the fries to name a few. The drinks are also good as well and I love that they do seasonal ones. The place is big and they have two outside area that are nice. The hostess and waiters here are all nice and welcoming and I enjoy coming for HH.

Cute brunch spot. Went on a Saturday morning and it was empty but filled up slowly while we were there. The breakfast burrito was a delicious American take on wet breakfast burrito. The hot honey chicken was crunchy but a little greasy. The pancakes were decent, syrup tasted sugar free.

Loved the atmosphere and the staff. It helped the food was great as well. We started with the goat cheese stuffed artichoke hearts which were delicious. I had the red Thai curry Chilean sea bass and my wife got the picanha steak with chimichurri. I loved both and was very impressed with the flavors. Definitely will be coming back for my next date night

Very cool and relax spot, with great outside area for summer nights. We came for early dinner and the restaurant slowly got busier but our server was on it the whole time. He was very funny and gave us excellent recommendations. We tried the brussels and the artichoke florets for appetizers and they were delicious, great way to start the meal. He highly recommended the sea bass in curry and I was blown away by it. So flavorful and perfectly cooked fish. The only down side was the rice, they were a few hard lumps that were uneatable. Everyone else enjoyed their meal except for the kids. They didn't like the taste of the burgers. My husband raved about the pork chop and I saw the fried chicken sandwich from a distance, it looked huge. A little pricy but I would love to come back and try a couple of other things.

My husband and I like to bring business clients here when we attend T.H.E. Show at the Hilton. This is our second year doing so. We found the restaurant through a search for dog friendly patios. Our dog is only 10 pounds and stays in a bag the entire time, but it's really nice to be able to have a steak and not have at a fast food restaurant. This time around three of us ordered the short ribs, and people had steaks, and another had the panko crusted halibut. We also started with a few orders of calamari, the Brussels, and an order of meatballs. The service was pleasant and the food was generally good. I did t personally love the sauce on my short ribs because it was sweet. Outside of that, everything was good.

We went for Mother's Day and it was delicious. We ordered French onion soup, Ceasar Salad, Beef Wellington, Filet Mignon, Pichana and for dessert Ube Basque cheesecake. Salad was good, nothing extraordinary but good, soup was warm, not hot, so I won't order soup again, steaks were all good but we ordered the picahna medium rare and it came medium well. Wellington and Mignon melted in your mouth. So good! Our waitress was very attentive and efficient. One thing I need to say is that out menus were dirty, sticky and one if them with food, hope they are more careful with that.

I've had the place bookmarked for awhile so I finally made it! Beautiful restaurant! They do validate parking for 90min is really not long enough for fine dining. We came for happy hour because I heard it was good. The deal is $4off all appetizers and few drink specials. I got spicy tuna stack which was tasty! I didn't think it was spicy but once you ate a red pepper, the heat was nice! We split the picanha and asked for medium rare. However it was definitely medium to well on the ends. So a little tough. The arugula salad was nice and the fries were crispy. Service was decent.

Hidden gem! I love ambiance, everything is very nice and neat. The service was great, very attentive staff. They made sure to get all of our food out quickly and maintained our table throughout. Our server and bartender, Javier, was super friendly and anticipated our needs. The food was delicious, as well as the drinks! Definitely must check this place out!

Celebrated one of my friend's Birthday and had a great time. Our waiter was so helpful whenever any issues arose. This is a charming restaurant in the murals and decor on the walls fit the whole vibe. The food was great, although we did ask for the eggs, slightly undercooked, and the eggs were overcooked. Other than that the rest of the food was great.

Eggs Benedict avocado toast and Yogi omelette

Great brunch experience! Made a reservation for 2 and was seated immediately - unsure if reservations are needed as the restaurant wasn't full at noon on a Sunday but you never know! The restaurant is located right next to Izakaya Osen (great sushi) and has a parking structure w/ free validated parking. Walking in, the restaurant is very spacious with high ceilings. There was lots of seating and my friend and I were seated in a spacious comfy booth. There were a few groups here that looked like they were having a brunch celebration and this place looked like the perfect place to host one! Food - I ordered the eggs benedict avocado toast and replaced the fruit with home potatoes. My friend ordered the Yogi omelette and replaced the fruit with 1 pancake. We really appreciated that they allowed us to replace the side with a reasonable replacement with no added cost! My eggs benedict avocado toast was great - yolk was perfectly runny, the toast is a yummy sourdough toast, bacon was crispy and the avocado was fresh! The home potatoes was also crispy and a great addition. My friend also really enjoyed her Yogi omelette and pancake. The pancakes are cinnamon flavored and super light and fluffy! I don't really enjoy pancakes often but this one was good. Service was very attentive and came by to check on us often to ask if we needed anything, ketchup, hot sauce, etc. Would definitely come again!

Went there for brunch a few weeks ago on Saturday at 11am. Table for 6. Beautiful interiors. Service was pretty solid by Javier (4.5 stars), we did have to ask for more drink refills here and there as the restuarant got more filled and busier. Most of the dishes pictured were pretty great. Most all of us finished our food. I had the picanha - perfectly cooked to medium well (light soft pink color), it came with a wonderful arugual/watercress/tomato/parm salad and frites. - Asked for their ketchup and hotsauce I also got their mussels w 2 pcs of sourdough toast. - Mussels were on the small size (like the size of an almond candy?) - The wine sauce w shallots was amazing to dip your bread - A bit salty though towards the end - Sourdough was really great quality - Although I wished the sourdough was more toasted AND hot The one SERIOUSLY meh dish was their beet salad. Nobody else touched it. Big wedges of beets (2 kinds) seemed like out of a can or something (premade), arugula in the center and hardly any dressing. There was a small smattering of goat cheese pcs that served more like a garnish. - Portion was pretty big and could be satisfying - But it just fell short, didn't taste good - I forced myself to just eat the beets with my steak - I asked them to TAKE IT AWAY!!!! Tire of looking at it...untouched by others. Their coffee and tea service was great! Pour your own refills. I got their tropical tea and it was good. Parking validation is only for 90 mins, we were there 2 hrs. I would go back for the picanha, the mussels and the sourdough bread!!! Mmm mmm good. FYI - their bread plates or what you find on the table is extremely small. Their silverware is very heavy so not cohesive. I had to ask for a larger more substantial plate to eat some of the shared dishes.

    Picanha - excellent!

We were just here for my son's graduation dinner. We had the best time celebrating at The Goldfinch. The ambiance is incredible. It's a beautiful restaurant and the service is fantastic. The open patio is perfect for Southern California. The food is amazing and the drinks are delicious. Some of our favorite dishes were the Panko crusted mahi mahi tacos, Atlantic Salmon and my favorite, Picanha. The Chimichurri sauce is unbelievable. This is the perfect place for your next celebration dinner.

Good restaurant. Good amount of seating. Good service but can be slow at times. Food was good but not knock your socks off in my opinion. Lobster roll was good but a bit expensive in my opinion. Overall still good!

They have tons of parking in this shopping center. They share it with TONS of other places. One of my BFFs saw this on an Instagram video and wanted to check it out. *They do take reservations When we came in we checked in with one of the waitresses. She said she would seat us in a minute. To be honest, she did forget about us. A waiter walked up to us and asked us what was going on (we were standing there for around 7 - 10 minutes) and we told him we had a reservation for the speakeasy. He immediately apologized and sat us. This camp themed speakeasy has a couple booths. It's on the smaller sides. Which, speakeasy's are usually small to begin with. I did not get the waitresses name, my friend and I were busy catching up. The waitress was nice, but not attentive. I will say service was a 2/5. However, the actual restaurant, cozy pine is located in, was packed because of the World Cup being on TV. So I definitely was not going to complain The food Our food order did come out extremely FAST. Faster than our drink orders. -the campfire guacamole -BBQ shoestring fries (had bbq seasoning all over them so it tasted like a BBQ potato chip) -Glamping plate (charcuterie board) -steak tacos (one without onion and cilantro -churro affogato Again, the food was VERY fast!! And to be honest it wasn't that bad. I'll say, speakeasy's usually shine in the drink department vs food. Drinks -Lycheed and Loaded Ketel One, lychee liqueur, lemon, elderflower. This was extremely delicious! If you don't like to taste your alcohol? Go with this. It was really refreshing. Hand this to me at a spa and I'd be the happiest gal in the world -Camp Anawanna $17 Graham cracker-infused bourbon, licor 43, chocolate, torched marshmallow (the waitress catches the marshmallow on fire at the table) This one was stronger and I didn't think it was overly sweet despite the ingredients I think they had a good selection, especially for a small speakeasy. I have been to better, so I don't think I'd return. Especially since the service was not that great. We still had a good time and recommend for every speakeasy lovers list.

We sat at the bar inside for the restaurant but there was a smaller enclosed area which was the speakeasy. My coworker ordered a margarita from the bar. It was mainly ice and the alcohol content was lacking in his opinion. Once there was a table available we were brought inside a cabin themed area. We ordered from the menu: Bug Juice, Devils Postpile and non alcoholic Black Cherry Bomb. The wait for the drinks was around 15-20mins and were prepared by what we believed was the same bar for the restaurant outside. The only difference was the drinks were made themed for the speakeasy. Overall the service was ok. The drinks and dessert were average. My coworkers did feel that their drinks were more on the sweeter side than just tasting much of the alcohol. A cute concept idea but did feel like the overall experience was alittle lacking with food and drinks. Parking wasn't a problem it's in a plaza with other restaurants and shops.

Plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor with a fireplace outside for those chilly nights and where you can just relax and unwind. It's a very convenient restaurant for the surrounding businesses that would like to grab lunch without having to drive, have meetings or want a drink right after work. I was reviewing some of the dishes a couple of months before our arrival and thought this would be a nice early birthday dinner so I went ahead and reserved the 5pm dinner slot. But now let's get to the food! FOOD Short Ribs Croquettes (Appetizer) These were delightful. Not only cute and presentable but the flavors were delicious, a perfect combination of everything! Especially the aji amarillo aioli. Don't be shy when taking a scoop of the aioli, be sure to give the croquettes a nice drench of it! Highly recommend! Sea Bass Crudo (Appetizer) Presentation may seem a bit flat but I promise you it's packed with flavor! Prepared with citrus ponzu, serrano and garlic chili crunch, the Sea Bass Crudo is definitely refreshing with a bit of a kick! Looking for a shareable seafood type appetizer? Then you should absolutely try this out! Streak Frites This one felt like it would be a nice balanced healthy lunch. Marinated steak with bourbon peppercorn sauce sitting on a bed of fries featuring a nice portion of salad. Had the steak cooked medium and it was just perfect. I wouldn't mind ordering this dish again! Work nearby and want a balance of everything? Then this is the dish for you! Braised Short Rib Probably my favorite one. Meat easily melts in every bite. Paired with those whipped potatoes beneath? Forget it! It may seem like a small dish but it gets filling pretty quick. I think this is another dish I'll be ordering the next time we visit! Peach Butter Cake (Dessert) I seem to have found myself in trouble when taking that first initial bite because I couldn't stop myself indulging its rich flavor! Then you should get this! Guarantee you'll have it all to yourself! OVERALL Actually glad we were able to try this place out as I just stumbled upon it a couple months before. Great establishment for dates, small hangouts, big parties or an after work dinner. Spacious interior with comfy seatings and a modern look to the place. I was lucky enough to stumble across this gem of the center of OC when they first opened - and I am proud to be a regular here. I don't know how to go somewhere else - because I feel like the staff are giant gems in this jewel of a spot. Winters is a curator of boozy information that has helped me learn about "gin" and "root beer whiskey" so I can sound like an adult-ish purveyor, when really I know close to nothing except being a willing student to his creations. Dan the Man and Jacob always see me raise my hand in the corner of the bar, like the student I am, and have been willing to fill in the blanks for me when I know I am of thirst, but do not have the words for what to order. Every person working in the well has treated me with kindness - they have taken the time to get to know me, and I will be forever appreciative of how they have taken care of me over the years. But the real joy has been the transformation that this spot has for building a community of people in Santa Ana for real recognizing real. I have been bringing my Dad with me to play pool for the past few years. Sometimes people ask me if he plays professionally, I am terrible, and my skill incline is slow, he is patient and plays with the same level craftiness that the staff offer the cocktails. My Dad is always stoked when we have time to go have a few hours of games at 616 - especially now that there are regulars on 4th street that are excited to see that he is there playing - and they rush to write their names on the chalkboard to challenge him - or beat him in a game they really earned the W. On lazy Sundays, I watch couples sit with their drink, listening to Jazz, and watching my Dad whoop my ass while making amazing shots. I am forever grateful to Memo who sometimes takes a break from his shift behind the bar to give my dad an actual challenge - which allows me the chance to watch my Dad enjoy fellowship around the table. Knowing the table was a relic of the bars former self, and knowing the history that this spot has in Santa Ana is a reminder that so much around us can change - but it is those moments of the crack of the rack, the cheer of getting the combo shot, and the shake of hands when it's over that shows that it's not just about the pool table - but about the energy of a place that is welcoming and curated by people who care about what they do - and care about who comes through their doors. Thank you Jason and Mike B to bringing this to 4th St and supporting the community that was already here - and for building a community for the future. Thank you to Christina and Brandon for always having amazing pictures, decor, and fun events at 616 that help introduce new folks into this great spot. Time is short. Learn about Root Beer Whiskey.
