Charging $13 for a breakfast burrito is a complete rip off considering how much smaller the burrito has gotten over the years. It use to be a good portion for the price, but now it's reduced in notable size since they opened. Considering I've been to places where you get more for much less (Lucky Boy Pasadena), I don't see the reason to charge $13 besides the breakfast burrito competition being limited in Vallejo. Also, it doesn't come with a salsa. Most basic bfast burrito places at least come with at least one. Can't be bothered to even include a basic bottled one for $13?? Overall, come here if you're desperate for a breakfast burrito because it tastes decent. Just know you are surely getting ripped off price wise. read more

There is plenty of parking around although I can see it may get packed but people are constantly coming and going so it shouldn't be a problem. This is a small little cafe. There is only street parking but I was lucky to get parking in the front. I think you can also order online or DoorDash but they do close kind of early. If you pay with cash, you get a 4% discount. I ordered a iced lavender white mocha and a garlic chicken sandwich. The lavender white mocha was great, it wasn't too overpowering with the lavender and the mix with white mocha was nice. Was so impressed by this local cafe! Tons of unique coffee offerings and a surprisingly large breakfast/lunch menu that did not disappoint! I had the sundried tomato breakfast sandwich on a croissant which was awesome, with an iced brown sugar/almond milk coffee and my friend had the vegan breakfast burrito (which is huge) with an oat milk latte. Me and my coworkers wanted to meet someplace for an appropriate business/coffee/lunch. What a great place for meetings of six people or less. They delivered our food to the table and our coffee to the table and let us make a tab and just keep adding on as we needed too. very accommodating but most importantly, the coffee is amazingly on point. I am a coffee lover, so that means a lot for me. The best thing about this place is that they had lunch croissants /sandwiches/burritos which we tried all of them . After an early shift and being extra hungry I figured I'd give this location a try. It's been on my "must go" list for quite some time and I was even more encouraged to stop by after coming across a tiktok of someone ordering their hot link sandwich. Upon arriving I walked in and I felt like I was interrupting a conversation or something because everyone just stared at me strangely. I walked up to the register and the gentleman that took my order didn't even say hello or greet me. Having it been my first time there I was a little overwhelmed by their menu and to fill some silence I mentioned it was my first time to hopefully get some recommendations but he took what I said and just said "oh". I ordered the hot link sandwich, and a caramel blend because that's all I really remembered from what I saw online. After that the gentleman walked away from the register and started making the drink. At this point I wasn't too sure if It was okay to put my card in the machine to pay or if I was waiting for something. Eventually I took the initiative and took him walking away as a sign to pay? I paid and my total for a sandwich and drink was pricey. I texted my receipt to my phone and I waited for my food and drink. Didn't take too long. I got my drink first and wow that was really good! Not too sweet or too overwhelming, it was just right. Shortly after I got my sandwich and left. I got home opened up my box and was super excited to eat. It was still super hot (since I live about 5 mins away) so I let the sandwich rest a bit. Overall the hot link sandwich was good! The link itself was spicy but not too spicy- at least for me. I had never had a hot link sandwich before but I love hot links so I was sure I'd like it. I only ate half of it because it was super filling. Ultimately I think I came at a bad time or day. For me they missed the mark with the customer service today. But that's okay! I work in customer service and I get that some days we are a bit off. The sandwich and drink were real good! I'll be sure to stop by and try their other items. I also can't wait to bring my bf to eat here. I'm sure he'll also love the hot link sandwich. Maybe it was knowing I couldn't get my coffee fix that morning from my first review, or knowing I had to endure until lunchtime to have some grub in my stomach for the lower original rating. On Saturday I had to drive by the area and decided a second chance would be good since they were open during during their new hours. I must say, wow! Incredible! Had the lavender white mocha and a sausage egg sandwich. Man, I wish I could have this during my weekdays, would be coming here every day. Service top notch. I wanted to love this place.... BUT CANT. Specifically for the wait time . Waited 46 minutes for my order ... 2 coffee , 2 burritos . Ordered at 10:26am and got my order at 11:10am . Seems really unorganized , workers seemed flustered, but also didn't seem like they cared too much about getting orders out for the people who were in store. The wait time was insane for a coffee shop . No coffee shop should have you wait 45 minutes for 2 coffees and 2 burritos. My husband stayed in store waiting for our order right in front of them and they didn't even start his order until 10 minutes before we received it . There needs to be more of a state of urgency in their work . Because of this wait time specifically I will not be coming back. I wanted to support this business but they need to be more organized and aware of their customers . So many others left before we did and we order way before them , most people leaving with food as well ! So it's just crazy to me why we had to wait so long for our order. First time trying The Grind and it was delicious! It's super difficult during covid for small businesses, but I was glad to see people coming in here and supporting a local Black owned business. I had an Iced Lavender White Mocha with an egg and potato breakfast burrito and my daughter had a Caramel Macchiato. There's a reason why the lavender white mocha is a favorite, it was so damn good. The lavender is so subtle in the coffee flavor, it was so good on that hot day when I had it. My daughter's Macchiato was gone pretty quick, I even laughed at her but she said it was so good. So much better than sbux. The burrito, omg. I have been having dreams about it. It's so simple, anyone could make it of course, but this one, omg. Everything was melted perfectly inside and it was grilled, or put on a panini press and grilled shut. I'm fighting the urge to go get one as we speak but I'm pretty sure I'm just going to go get one anyway lol. I don't drink coffee, I think the last time I got coffee was probably years ago due to health reasons (not dire or anything) but I think I might change my mind. I'm so looking forward to trying the rest of the food and drinks here. The burrito was cooked to order so I'm assuming all the food is. They have a huge selection of drinks, and I really want to try their lemonades next time I go. Please, please support local businesses, especially black owned businesses. We went in this afternoon. Welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and excellent social distancing measures. The apple fritter I had was delicious and a very generous size. My husband ordered the sausage and egg breakfast burrito, he even let me taste it. It was marvelous the flavors all melded together so well. So many places skimp in the cheese, not here! There was cheese all the way to the bottom. *HONEST REVIEW* OK.... I ordered the super breakfast burrito, lavender latte with oat milk, and the caramel apple smoothie, came out to ~$18. Let me just say, this place has far exceeded my expectations. The caramel apple smoothie was delicious, it wasn't an overpowering of Apple, I could taste the caramel, it actually reminded me of those caramel apple suckers I used to have as a kid. So good! The whip cream they used is honestly better than Starbucks'. When I got a fifth of the way down my smoothie, I mixed the whipped cream in the rest of the apple-caramel and it was like freaking heaven! The lavender latte was so good as well! It IS on the sweet side but it's still very good and the lavender isn't overpowering either. It has a really nice aroma of lavender. Now to the best part... YO this burrito? OMFG. This hit the spot! As you can see it is huge but also sOOo cheesy, I was literally pulling the cheese. And it's delicious! It's honestly one of the best, if not THE best breakfast burrito I've had. And I'm not exaggerating, even better than the ones I make it home LOL.. This would have been a 5-star review if it wasn't for the experience I had. They went viral on social media and they had a lot of business. The line outside the door was long as heck! Given-- not for good reason but, still irritating. Then when I get inside, my food is cold because they had already made it (I called ahead) but the line was so long, I also couldn't go in because of social distancing. But then, my smoothie was slightly melted because it had been waiting too long as well. The barista was not trained very well because she was barista-ing(?) And then the lady at the cash wrap was so overwhelmed with the many, MANY orders they had she was a bit disorganized and shuffling receipts around, confused and distracted as well (I was standing there five minutes before she could acknowledge me and ring me up, that's how busy and unorganized they were). They could do with a better ordering system to where the cash wrap isn't confused\distracted and the barista can just look at an order with the special preparations handy so she doesn't forget and waste time and resources remaking them. Customers were angry that their food was taking so long, some we're leaving the line, it was madness! Was the food actually good, and worth it in my opinion? Resounding, YES. 3 stars for friendly service and tasty food. But my overall experience leaves me on the fence. I know this is a new business and they're trying to work their kinks out, but hopefully they can be more organized in the future. Review about ordering and waiting: I got to the cafe about 10am and waited outside with a few other customers. There weren't any signs on how to order, and the person regulating at the door didn't explain the process. After 10 minutes of standing outside, I watched others come in from their car to pick up their mobile order. I then realized we could place orders online, and I also peeked my head inside and saw the sign that we can order online. I placed my order on the website at 10:13am, which was a super fast process and it's very user friendly, then I realized the ready time said 11am. I asked the worker at the door about this time to make sure it was accurate, if so, I would gladly come back at that time because I had to pick up my mom from the hospital. The lady inside who seemed like the manager stated that my order was being worked on, which gave me the impression it would be done within 5-10 minutes. 10 minutes pass by and then I'm allowed to go inside due to social distancing, which I understood. The manager saw me and checked on my coffee, and I heard someone said they had made it and put it in the fridge. I would've appreciated my name to be called so I can have my iced lavender white mocha fresh while waiting for my 2 super burritos. The gentleman who handed me my coffee said my burritos were being worked on. It is now 10:30am. 10 more minutes pass and I ask the barista about the burritos, and she tells me they've been put in the oven. At this time a customer who I was standing outside with and ordered the same food as me, but after me, got her name called and both her drinks and food was ready. I didn't say anything because I was told my burritos were going to be ready soon. 10:40am- still no sign of food. I apologize to the manager and say I'm sorry I keep asking but will my burritos be out soon? I'm not one to complain or pick on someone for doing their job, but at this point I was getting impatient because I wanted to come back to pick up my order but was given the impression I did not need to. Maybe that was my mistake. Got my burritos, and the manager said there was a ticket mix up and my order was given to someone else, hence the longer wait. I'm finally out of the cafe at 10:50. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about supporting new, local businesses. The staff was really nice, but hopefully in the future there could be better communication and direction on who's in charge of what so food and drinks come out in the order that they are placed, and so that customers outside can understand the new system of ordering. Also, because there are regulations with wearing masks, I expected the staff to be wearing theirs correctly, except I saw some removing it when talking, or it was sitting below their mouth while making orders. Review about food and coffee: 1) Iced Lavender White Mocha with Oat Milk- I appreciate the non dairy options. The lavender was a bit sweet for my liking, so I'll probably ask for less sweetened next time. 2) Super Breakfast Burrito: Really good and filling. So far, I only ate half. Cheese was melted well. Oh my goodness! Happy dance in the car as we enjoyed our food. I called in our order since it was near closing time and my order was happily taken. We ordered 2 breakfast burritos (potato and bacon both with sour cream and salsa) and the caramel apple smoothie (sorry my picture doesn't show it in all its glory since I called it in but those reviews about it being the caramel apple lollipop is spot on). I got SO excited to see so many lemons in their lemonade that I had to add one to my order. Definitely refreshing on this beautiful warm day (for all you travel sports folks I'm reminded of the Reno convention center lemonade vendor).
