This is the quintessential brunch place with good vibes and decor but food was not good. I got the Monte Cristo and the turkey was kind of slimy and the bread was a hot dog bun. My boyfriend got the chicken biscuits and the chicken was a tender cut in half with biscuits that were most likely previously frozen. The staff was all very nice and friendly. If you are looking for a place to go with a group and have some drinks this could be your spot. But if you are looking for a delicious brunch you can find better. read more

Amazing cocktails in a gorgeous interior and atmosphere. We decided to enjoy some cocktails on the rooftop and enjoyed this spot a lot. The bartenders were super kind and quick. I had the French Twist and Rosemary Tea and can confidently say these were some of the best cocktails I've had in Savannah. They had the perfect balance of spirits with a delightful brightness and sweetness. The rooftop offers comfortable seating options for groups or couples with a view over the city. The floral designs create a bright environment perfect to enjoy a drink and a nice view. We did not look at the food menu or try any food so I can not speak to that aspect. read more

We had heard what a cool hip place this was so we made it our 2nd stop on our first Friday afternoon in Savannah in 6 years. We were not very impressed. Upon entry we were not greeted by either of the hostess who were very concerned with their phones and not us. The downstairs was very crowded so we interrupted and asked if we could go to the roof and they said sure. We climb the stairs which were very modern and the lighting in stairwell was nice as well. The rooftop inside is snug with a small bar and a few tables. Nothing outside on couches or tables was available so we grabbed a very small unbalanced table and waited, and waited some more. About 15 minutes later a server came by to say they would bring menus. A few minutes later they did and the menu was small in the late afternoon. It was about 4 o clock. We ordered 2 bourbon mukes with Angel's Envy and cajun Angel's shrimp. Shrimp came and no drinks. Drinks finally arrived in a rocks glass not mule mug, should have been our first indication that this overpriced drink would be trash. It was. All lime, no ginger taste and certainly no bourbon. The bacon wrapped shrimp were great. The view is lovely and there were child birthdays right next to Bachelorette parties but this place us just trying to hard and understaffed. Got here right before the restaurant opened and there was already a line. Luckily we were able to get reservations ahead of time. The restaurant was open and airy. Service was decent compared to other Savannah restaurants we've been too. My friends loved the monte cristo. The waffles were decent. This was by far the worst dining experience of my entire life. We came here for a bachelorette lunch. Not only were we seated for 1.5 hours before our food got served, our drinks came one by one and then the food only 1/2 came out. 20 minutes later the other 1/2 of our food came. My salad came with a hair in it as it was put down in front of me. I told the buss boy who served it and who didn't apologize at all. We were missing 2 plates of chicken, a biscuit, a plate of sausage, and 2 salad dressings. We had to track down the waitress who was sitting on her phone and never came to check on us. She finally came over and said the people in the kitchen didn't know what they were doing and didn't apologize. We asked to speak with the manager and he came over and gave us a discount which we appreciated. But even when we left we still never got 2 of our dishes. The service was -100000/10 and the food sucked, but at least we wouldn't have complained about the food if things came correct and people were nice. The service was absolutely the worst I've ever experienced. Also 3 people out of our parties are servers and 2 others work in the food service industry so we have the upmost respect for food service and industry workers. After we asked to speak to the manager, it took another 30 minutes for someone to bring over the check. Never saw the waitress again. This was so insanely bad and it completely ruined our brides day. The Grove, located in the historic district of Savannah, was our first introduction to the cities' cuisine, and it was a great one. We got here on the later side on Thursday evening (almost 9 pm) and sat at the bar in the main dining room. This restaurant seems ideal for big groups since they have a lot of big tables. It is a big open space with a beachy feel with the blue and white colors and clean modern style. It got me in the mood for my vacation which was perfect! We started off with cocktails. I got the rosemary sweet tea which was a blend of honeysuckle vodka, rosemary sweet tea, lemonade and honey. Basically it was an adult Arnold Palmer. My friend got the champagne pop which was a glass of Prosecco with a purple fruity popsicle stuck into the drink. It was visually really fun (great for the 'gram) but also very tasty as well. For our entrees we both ordered the blackened grouper tacos. It was three fish tacos with a corn and tomato salsa on flour tortillas and they were served with your choice of side. My friend got the grits as her side and I got the jalapeño honey fries. Y'all, the fries are amazing. I am a wimp when it comes to spice but these were not spicy at all. The fries were thick cut and I was obsessed with the jalapeño honey sauce drizzled on them. The tacos were really good too and I thought the salsa had some great flavor on the fish. This review is not based on The Grove's food. We came here late at night to enjoy their outdoor patio and some drinks. I was blown away with the level of customer service we received. From the front door security to the bartenders. When closing out our tab, the bartender informed us that their system was down and that we should come back in a few minutes. The bartender was so gracious enough to bring our check upstairs to the patio and even threw in a nice house made shot! Savannah is our halfway meetup when picking up or delivering visiting family members. We try different restaurants in the area. Sadly, I didn't get a pic of anything but the menu. ;-) The best part of the Grove experience is the people. Even though we arrived without a reservation, the service team offered an upstairs space with both inside and outside seating. The second floor was not being used, so up to the third floor we headed. The outside was too cold, and the inside was really loud--my 80+ mom couldn't hear. But we were ready to enjoy a meal. The menu is available only via scan code, which worked for everyone but my mom. Fortunately, they brought an iPad so she could see (we had tried sharing our phones, but the print was too small). Throughout our visit, the service was super friendly. The drinks looked awesome--we were adjacent to the bar and observed several being made and served. But as designated drivers, we weren't partaking. If you visit and aren't the DD, you should try one. The food was good and attractively served. The build your breakfast meals had full platters, and the chicken tenders and fries looked good. The quiche and salad looked nice, as well. One family member got the chicken and waffles, and while this looked tasty, she indicated her chicken was dry. At the end of the day, we had a great time together. Great concept, but poor execution. Start off with walking in--smells of dank mop water and dirty restroom(s). We arrived right at opening time for brunch and the smell was pungent. I hit up the restroom after 15 minutes and was shocked at both the smell and that it visible urine caked everywhere. For the uninitiated, the Grove has a very clean aesthetic, and that must have stopped at the bathroom door. Food--meh. Nothing to write home about. Biscuits for the chicken biscuits were probably made a day or two prior. My wife ordered the quiche and thought it was just ok. If you have low expectations, then you won't be disappointed by the food. Service--slow, but that was because only one person was waiting tables downstairs. Ordered coffee, poor server brought it out to us on a small plate. Understand it was the look and aesthetic--white coffee cups on a narrow white plate, but the cups clumsily sit on this tiny plate and unfortunately the coffee spills out because of this. So what should be a clean presentation just looks messy. Our waiter was polite and pleasant. To recap: mediocre food at best, terrible smell, and poor systems in place. The Grove is a fantastic restaurant in Savannah! We enjoyed dinner here at the recommendation of a local we met while shopping. We were lucky enough to get a reservation for a Sunday night. I started my meal with the Cruel Summer Pouch which was an adult version of a Capri Sun. It was light, refreshing and fruity! I would highly recommend this drink! For dinner I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken. The waiter warned me that it is VERY HOT so I ordered the sauce on the side. The chicken was crisp, moist and tasty! The sauce was HOT but perfect as a side for dipping. I loved the mashed potatoes and green beans I had as accouterments. The service here was fantastic! The decor was simple and beautiful! I loved that their menu had various items, from burgers to huge entrees at all different price points, that was a plus for me as everywhere seems so expensive in town. A group of us were walking around when we were drawn in to the Grove by the ENORMOUS flower wall decor at the entrance. We ended up staying for brunch and drinks on the rooftop. The shrimps and grits were delightful. Our waitress was so nice and always kept our glasses full! She also split our checks 6 ways when we asked. Upon entry I hate to say that the atmosphere was very chic! We were on vacation so we splurged a bit. This place was fancy enough that we could dress up, but not too fancy that we could wear some nice jeans and sneakers haha Food: To start, we had a charcuterie board witch was delicious. Perfect for 2/3 people Great portions. I had the Flounder atop a bed of quinoa, with a cilantro lime sauce that wasn't too overpowering. Now flounder is a milder fish to me, so the sauce did help when I thought it tasted "fishy." My husband had chicken tacos which he loved! The pickled Onions were just the thing to give it that extra zing. We shared a side of their Brussels sprouts with bacon! Yummy! For dessert we had the chocolate cake on their rooftop bar area! We could see a little of the street and other beautiful buildings. They had the bar inside and an outdoor patio with wrap around porch like seating and sofas. The hanging lights were a mood! Overall, we enjoyed this place very much and would recommend it. You get what you pay for, so that's a plus! Def. will be returning. We had dinner on the rooftop at the recommendation of a friend and it turned out to be a great choice. The rooftop is a mix of indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside where there is a mixture of couches and high top tables. We were having dinner so a table would be more convenient. Destiny was our server and she did a great job checking on us and ensuring we had what we needed. We had the Hudson Club and the Chipotle Shrimp Burger. Both sandwiches were delicious. We both had the honey fries, which were skinny fries with a side of jalapeño honey dressing to either drizzle or dip. They were ok. The sandwiches made up for it though. Good beer selection in cans. Today we decided to try The Grove. The place seemed full but we were still sat almost immediately. Our waitress was attentive and our glasses were always filled. We had the hummus, which was very good. I wish there had been more cucumber slices though. The Nashville Hot Chicken was amazing. We substituted green beans as the veggie and they were very nicely prepared. We also tried the chicken sliders. If I get those again I'll ask for a little more sauce on the side. The people next to us has the spinach salad and the Grove Succotash. They said both were excellent (and they looked it). We will definitely be back and it looks like the menu is full of good food. We came back. Tried the jalapeño honey fries and the chicken wings this time. I'm personally not a fan of crinkle cut fries but my dinner partner loves them. The jalapeño honey drizzle definitely has a nice kick to it. Sadly, they got a bit soggy. Overall we were not a fan of the fries. The wings were good though. Lunch menu abysmal! There are no paper menus so you must try to select you food using your phone's display of their menu. This is no easy task as you need to try to fish around for entrees and sides and can only view one item at a time. Really, does one need this hassle when dining out? Not even a single menu available at the door. I guess that should have been my warning sign! My hamburger was dreadful! A thin patty that soaked the bun completely with grease. I chose the side salad which was brought on a very small saucer size plate that made it difficult to eat without dropping greens onto the table. My wife tried the shrimp burger that was deep fried and just so-so. Plus not much atmosphere, small metal chairs that left one looking to leave when done eating. read more

Seating became available that could seat us all together and it worked logistically, but when we asked the staff they were not accommodating. They brushed us off and didn't even consider our request. Besides the service, the food is okay. They were out of a lot on the menu, so we ended up ordering the chicken tacos that had an Asian flavor. I thought they were okay.
