Another restaurant we've visited many times and recommended to all but this time was a flop. We went upstairs as we were just going to have a couple cocktails before dinner. There were probably 35-40 people upstairs but the bar itself was empty so we sat there. A blonde female bartender looked fully overwhelmed with whatever was happening. We looked around and no one had drinks. There was a large party in the room off to the side. We waited awhile as we could tell things were hectic. After 25 minutes, the large party decided to leave and now both bartenders and what I'm assuming was a shift manager looked flustered. The male bartender came over to apologize and get our order. Neither drink we ordered was what we were used to getting from the Grove. We waited about 20 more minutes and what I'm guessing was a bar back came out after the 2 bartenders were nowhere to be found. He chatted up the bachelorette party (5 women) that showed up and talked to us for a bit. Super friendly guy. The male bartender resurfaced, made us drinks to go, and we left. We ordered mimosas and from brunch menu. The brunch menu was the only menu available. The food was nothing to write home about. I was disappointed with my thick bland grits and so was my date. Took my friend here for her birthday brunch before we started our day of adventure! I love this place. I made a reservation through Open Table. Glad I did because there was a line of people waiting to get in.we were seated in a cozy booth and our server was awesome! When he found out it was my friends birthday he brought her a birthday shot with a candle! Ha! I tried their avocado toast today and got the cheese grits and a Bloody Mary. I was surprised at how much I truly enjoyed this place! While not our first choice for Friday evening dining, they did have open seats and a full menu at the bar. We struck immediately and were glad we did. The bacon wrapped shrimp app was DELICIOUS (no pic because I inhaled it). The blackened grouper over a bed of quinoa was so tasty and came out fresh/hot. Mind you, we had our full meal at the bar and it was later in the evening. I'd imagine you could get impatient and hungry sitting or waiting for a table. The bartenders rocked it and handled the crowd well - very attentive. I did like the adult capri sun but it was heavy handed on the grapefruit vodka so if that's not your thing, you're best to just steer clear. The cilantro crème on my grouper was worthy of asking for more - I could easily see dipping fries or other things in that sauce. We will be back!!! read more

This is the second time we've been here, and it is such an awesome place. We live in Florida, but frequent Savannah because it's just too close not to. The drinks are good, and the food is delicious. Their brunch is tasty, and sitting out on their patio overlooking the streets of Savannah is relaxing. The bartenders who also serve as your waiters are so friendly, and give it a good, uplifting environment with their music selection and energy. We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and were lucky to get an outside table. The weather was beautiful and inside the place was a zoo. No social distancing, people packed in at the bars and none wearing masks. There were a couple football games on tv and this is right in the City Market area which made it very popular. Outside we had a terrific server and enjoyed the burgers we ordered. They were cooked perfectly and I give the crispy French fries an A+. Came to The Grove for rooftop dranks and snacks with some girlfriends, and left being obsessed with popsicles in wine! We had a few of the appetizers - the guacamole and the bacon wrapped shrimp. The latter was delicious, the guacamole was underwhelming. It was a little bland, could've used a little more garlic, salt, and lime. But what really made us love this place was the champagne pop drink - it's ultimately just a glass of champagne with a popsicle in it. Not too fancy, but it was SO good, wow! The popsicle was tart and delicious on it own - I was some sort of blackberry flavor with real blackberries in it. As it melted, your glass of champagne turned into sort of like a sangria. It was delicious and I absolutely would recommend! Staff was great, very accommodating and were helpful in seating us before another group, because they had remembered we got there first. I will start with i didn't get to try the food because I went at night and if they're still serving food that late they do an amazing job of making sure you don't know it and feel uncomfortable asking about it. The space is 3 levels which I was surprised by. It didn't look that big from the outside. The first floor was chill with great music. The second floor was lit with more hip/hop and rap playing and the third floor was where you go if you're hot or you're a group of lawyers who just got off work and need to unwind. We dined downstairs but they do have a rooftop bar to enjoy a cocktail afterwards. One thing to note at this time though... they are NOT social distancing much like most of Savannah. I was not happy with my meal. The grouper tasted fishy and salty. Not a little over seasoned but overly salty beyond belief. So salty that I didn't I couldn't make it past eating one. The meal comes with 3 and I absolutely hate wasting food. Brussel sprouts were pretty tasty. Tender enough and seasoned pretty well. I also tried the fried chicken tenders, they were pretty tasty. This was by far the worst dining experience of my entire life. We came here for a bachelorette lunch. Not only were we seated for 1.5 hours before our food got served, our drinks came one by one and then the food only 1/2 came out. 20 minutes later the other 1/2 of our food came. My salad came with a hair in it as it was put down in front of me. I told the buss boy who served it and who didn't apologize at all. We were missing 2 plates of chicken, a biscuit, a plate of sausage, and 2 salad dressings. We had to track down the waitress who was sitting on her phone and never came to check on us. She finally came over and said the people in the kitchen didn't know what they were doing and didn't apologize. We asked to speak with the manager and he came over and gave us a discount which we appreciated. But even when we left we still never got 2 of our dishes. The service was -100000/10 and the food sucked, but at least we wouldn't have complained about the food if things came correct and people were nice. The service was absolutely the worst I've ever experienced. Also 3 people out of our parties are servers and 2 others work in the food service industry so we have the upmost respect for food service and industry workers. After we asked to speak to the manager, it took another 30 minutes for someone to bring over the check. Never saw the waitress again. This was so insanely bad and it completely ruined our brides day. This was so absolutely horrible we are so upset. read more

The house salad was had tomatoes, spring greens, cucumbers, cheese, pickled onions. I really like the salad. The drinks was good as well. My husband like the shrimp burger and side salad. He said he is going to get another one before we leave Savannah. The service was good even with the crowd of people. It is first come first service atmosphere. I really loved my dinner and drink here! We made reservations for a group of 9 and had to wait about 15 minutes for our table to be ready. The hostess let us know we could get drinks from the bar while we waited. I ordered a dirty martini with vodka and the bartender freshly muddled olives for it. No old olive juice that had been in the back of the fridge here! It was SO good. Once seated, our very nice waiter (Juan I think?) gave us suggestions on the menu. I was planning to order the cobia, but he suggested that the blackened grouper was better. I asked if I could get the cobia dish the way it was prepared with two sides, but with the blackened grouper instead. I'm so glad he agreed, because it was AMAZING. I ordered it with grits instead of mashed potatoes, and green beans. The fish itself was spicy, but light and flaky. It really was a great meal. Our group also ordered guac and 2 cheese boards as appetizers. The cheese plates were beautiful and had great selections. The dill havarti was a nice addition as I don't usually see that on a charcuterie plate. Everyone really enjoyed their dinner here. We were there for about 2 hours, and then walked up the 2 flights of steps to the rooftop. It was pretty full, and wasn't really the vibe we were looking for. I wish we could have sat at the rooftop, but you must need to get up there earlier. I would definitely visit the restaurant again. read more

Traveled to Savannah with family/friends and decided to try this spot. I have a gluten allergy, and they have a couple things marked. The one thing that wasn't salad was what I chose, to only be told 20 min later they don't have it. Orders were messed up, including ice cold tacos, fries without the requested honey drizzle, moldy fruit, one of the kids meals coming out after everyone else is already eating. Service is painfully slow, and we were asked how we're splitting the check when we didn't even have food yet. They were not even busy. Avoid this place and go to a better establishment. read more

This is the quintessential brunch place with good vibes and decor but food was not good. I got the Monte Cristo and the turkey was kind of slimy and the bread was a hot dog bun. My boyfriend got the chicken biscuits and the chicken was a tender cut in half with biscuits that were most likely previously frozen. The staff was all very nice and friendly. If you are looking for a place to go with a group and have some drinks this could be your spot. But if you are looking for a delicious brunch you can find better. read more

Amazing cocktails in a gorgeous interior and atmosphere. We decided to enjoy some cocktails on the rooftop and enjoyed this spot a lot. The bartenders were super kind and quick. I had the French Twist and Rosemary Tea and can confidently say these were some of the best cocktails I've had in Savannah. They had the perfect balance of spirits with a delightful brightness and sweetness. The rooftop offers comfortable seating options for groups or couples with a view over the city. The floral designs create a bright environment perfect to enjoy a drink and a nice view. We did not look at the food menu or try any food so I can not speak to that aspect. read more
