The pizza at this place still tastes exactly the same as it did when I was a little kid in 1984. The decor is exactly the same as well. This is not to detract from the place. The kids wanted to eat some pizza after spending the whole day in Yellowstone park, as soon as we walk in, we're not at the place was almost empty, the asian waiter/manager came to me and gave us a table, so then I asked him to put us in a corner where nobody was at that time. The manager told me that he couldn't give us that table because what if a big group of people walked in?, then I told him but there's nobody here and that basically that is not my problem. he said that then it will be his problem. so we acceded to be seated in the table they gave us. When the Asian waitress came to take our order, she was having a hard time understanding a simple request that I have about adding garlic to my pizza, she obviously wasn't paying attention or being patience, and when I told her that I also wanted my pizza with no sauce, she kind of laughed about it. That's when I responded, are you laughing about it?, then she said to me "I think you are upset". I immediately told her that I wasn't when I came in and then proceeded to tell my kids to get up because we were leaving that place. No wonder that place was empty with no customers. The atmosphere inside is old and dark. The manger and waitress were so rude. We will never come back to this place. That was a good example to my kids to no let people disrespect you, specially when they're in the food service business. we ended up eating pizza at Wild West which it was awesome read more

The service was incredibly slow and they forgot our appetizers. I also wanted to get a beer as they said on the sign it was a pub but there are apparently new owners and they can't serve alcohol yet. The wild man burger was good though and my kids pizza was good too. Hopefully the new owners get more service help so we do t sit for 15 minutes waiting for someone to take our drink order. read more

This is a combined review, from the point of view of The Gusher as a pizza place and also from the point of view of it as a bar. As a pizza place, I give it a 2. The crust was thicker than I usually like but that wasn't the real problem. The problems were that it's a very messy pizza to eat, and that the sauce has a lot of onions in it. There are a lot of people like myself who cannot stand onions, so if the onions are big enough and plentiful enough to be visible and crunched in every bite, they really need to be listed as a topping so people know beforehand they aren't going to like the pizza. As a bar, though, I give it a 4. The bar side of the place very relaxing and enjoyable. I got a PERFECT pour of Guinness there, it's not often I find bars that know how to serve it correctly. So while I wouldn't go back for the pizza, I'd definitely go back to unwind at the bar. read more

By my "Three" rating, I really mean 3 and a half. I used this place twice. Fiirst time: One of my workamping friends and I ordered a pizza from this place. My friend was staying somewhere that didn't officially have an "address" and we still got our pizza within about 20 minutes of phoning it in, despite the fact that the order taker didn't hang the phone up properly and we were still "connected" to the point that we could hear them talking with my friend's cell phone put on "speaker." We almost decided to just walk over and get our pizza because we thought the order taker put us on hold and "forgot" but just as we were about to leave, here came our pizza on delivery! We ordered their GUSHER SPECIAL. Although the menu specifies they won't do a "half and half" on this pizza, they were willing to do half without mushrooms and onions (for my friend's tastes..) and half with.... It came out good! They don't charge a delivery charge. On the other hand, their prices are a bit astronomical, $22.50 for a medium of their "Gusher Special...." They also add the 3% resort tax. My friend remarked that the only reason we gave the driver a tip is because they don't charge a delivery charge. If they had, we wouldn't have given a tip at these prices...... Second time: I phoned in an order for a small 7" pizza with three toppings ahead of time and wanted it at X time. They were a little hesitant about an order for a "specific" time, but they went ahead and did it, and it was ready at the X time. I walked over and got it. When I ate it, I had stomach problems all night. Not sure what the difference was between this time and last time. They are located along a street so no place to park an RV. read more

We visit Yellowstone National Park two or three times each year; we live fairly close. Our first visit is in May and half the stores and restaurants are shuttered but we have the park to ourselves. We always eat at Gushers on the way into the park and at Canon Street Grill on the way back out; they're both great! We've discovered that one visit in May, one in October, and one during the summer sometime fills our needs. Actually the May and October visits are the best. Why? Large crowds of people are always here in the summer. In fact, if wasn't for the fact that we always go riding horses in the mountains of Island Park, Idaho on our summer trip, we probably wouldn't even go in the summer. read more

Bar is small, and service is practically nonexistent on the bar side. If you have a group bigger than 4, you may not get to sit all next to each other. If you get a table, order early. Dropped in here relatively late for dinner (7:30ish), with a group of 10 and had to wait about 15 minutes for seating to be arranged. The menu is what you expect - pizzas or various sandwiches/salads/burgers. However, I think we all felt like the food tasted better than we expected. I'm not a pizza fan, but half the group had pizza and half various and sundry burgers. All very good. Definitely would come back next time in W. Yellowstone. Stayed overnight in Montana while tripping to Yellow Stone National Park. It was late around 8 when me and fambam wants some food. Too bad phone internet or coverage is not really good out here, so finding restaurants was a hassle since we don't know where we are located and where everything is (road names are not clearly visible) We went to The Gusher and ordered the Taco Pizza. We thought we couldn't finish the whole thing but it was decent size for a family of four asians hahahah. I like the pizza because it has thin crust and the pizza dough is not too hard. It was easy to chew! Disappointed since ribeye steak only come in 14 oz or something like that - so we didn't order it. Service: our waiter was super nice!!! Ate here early June and couldn't have had a better experience. The food (we got a pizza, a sandwich, and some garlic bread) was all very tasty and the service staff was excellent. My family's meals looked pretty good, especially the bison/beef burger, but the fried steak that I ate was truly terrible. It completely altered my mood and made me very unhappy. gusher's used to be better. They've declined over the last few years as the fortunes of West Yellowstone have fallen on hard times. Now, the entire restaurant can best be described as "indifferent". Apply it to the service, the attention to detail, and the attitude of the wait staff. As more and more restaurants and businesses in WY have folded, it appears that they are throwing in the towel too. I was impressed by how bad the pizza I ordered yesterday was, but I figured it was just a bad day. Nope...the pizzas my buddies and I ordered tonight were just as indifferently prepared.
