The store follows all social distancing measures and offers custom sauce levels for the white or hot sauce depending on your choosing. I've tried everything on the menu and it's a great meal to have on the go as it packs vegetables, carbs protein all in a balanced portion. The pita sandwich packs nicely to go and does not spill even when transporting to go. The platters come in regular or large. Definitely recommend the large as it is a big jump up. Hot sauce 1-3 packets are plenty for even the seasoned pepper gurus. Also, they are featured on the "Off The Menu" app which has new food items to redeem for free everyday for $20 a month. So this was technically my friends pick for our Friday lunch at work but I'm so glad she suggested it. The menu is small but that's not a bad thing here, if you're good at something you shouldn't have to pad the menu. I had the small chicken platter and added on a scoop of hummus, let me start by saying that smell wafting from the bag was heavenly. Food was hot and looked amazing out of the bag. The lettuce is fresh and so are the tomatoes nothing canned or day old here. The chicken is so well seasoned it doesn't need anything to be tasty. Hummus is light so if you're not a fan because of that odd nut kind of taste you're good here. There's a special thing here called White Sauce, it's like a cross between Mayo and salad dressing but not thick and heavy (best way I can try to describe this). One whole packet over the plate and mixed is perfection. Or two, whatever, we don't judge. There's also a hot sauce that literally just lists spices in the ingredients and is the thing you would give yourself enemies and people who displease you. Alone it tastes like pain, regret of the last two seconds, fire and tears and that's just a drop on a finger. What I'm saying here is if you love spice, be cautious. Or video yourself trying to take more than a drop alone because that'll be hilarious. Anyway, point is, use at your own risk but a few drops mixed in? Perfect, just enough spice and heat to kick your tastebuds but not too much to not enjoy the taste of the meat. Now I do have two complaints, one of which knocked the star count down. First, the pita bread is so good but they only give you a half cut into small triangles. I wish they offered more, a lot more, because it's fantastic. And Two; we ordered a side of the falafel to try it, And it tasted like nothing. It was fried and firm outside and even then tasted like nothing. I dipped it in the side dressing it just tasted of dressing. I'm fairly certain that if nothing else there should be a spice? Something, but this was nothing. I was so surprised and disappointed. What sets apart different locations is always the service. The product is the same with slight variances. As soon as I got in line I was acknowledged. Actually spoken to like a person. Not that I haven't been treated well when going to a Halal Guys, but it was different. I ordered the newest item on the menu..the combo burrito. It is pretty much the same as what is served on the bowl except it is wrapped in a burrito. The employees should learn how to wrap burritos tightly because when I was eating it, it was falling apart. The meat inside was a little bare from the bowls I am used to. What sets the burrito apart from the signature Halal Guys plate is it has a very thick cheese sauce that you may or may not like. What's not to love about Halal Guys? I got the mixed plate and it's SO MUCH food that tastes so good! Their sauces are just immaculate--best sauces of any fast casual spot. I've been to the Halal Guys stand in New York and have been to numerous Halal Guys through SoCal. I'm glad to see more shops pop up but I wish there was one on the west side of LA. This location in Glendale is right on Brand and is clean and tidy. The service is fast, as it should be. I got the regular combo platter with a TON of white sauce and it was delicious. I appreciated how they gave me multiple pieces of pita bread. I'm a huge pita bread fan and it's super soft here. I don't know what's in the white sauce but it's so good! The service in this location has been consistently good! The workers are all very friendly and fast. I'm really pleased with how seriously they adhere to the social distancing rules. Everyone wears proper masks and gloves. In addition, they also put the tamper-evident labels, making it even safer, especially if you order it for delivery. I usually do online ordering through their website and they're always ready even before the confirmed pick-up time. The parking can be a bit tricky (depending on the time of the day) because there are so many other stores around this area. My go-to order is the gyro platter. But honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the platters. I personally prefer the gyro platter because the beef is more flavorful than the chicken and it pairs so well with the rice and the white sauce. I also like to put at least 2-3 red sauce sachets because I love spicy food. But it's definitely not your "average" spicy sauce, so be careful with the amount that you put in or your stomach will regret it ;) I do think that the portion for their regular platter has been decreasing for the past year or so. Having eaten at another location of The Halal Guys previously, I was pleasantly surprised at the taste and quality of the food at this store. The two dishes I got for takeout were the falafel sandwich and the falafel platter. The falafels were flavorful and not too greasy at all. The lettuce and tomatoes balanced out the falafels, and the rice was pretty tasty as well in the platter. Because I liked the rice so much, I ended up preferring the platter over the sandwich. As a tip: Mixing in some hot sauce with the white sauce kicked up the flavor a notch - definitely try this! This was the second time I visited the Glendale Halal Guys. The food seems pretty consistent with their other locations. There's usually some sort of a line here but I've gone at off hours so it's been minimal. I got the combo platter both times and this comes with salad, tomatoes, and rice. Normally, I'm not a huge rice fan but with the combination of the salad and the sauces, the texture goes really well with the proteins. I got tons of white sauce on it and 2 lines of the red, I might go 3 or 4 lines next time. The red sauce is no joke so don't go too crazy with it if you haven't tried it before. The white sauce is a must, don't ask why just do it. It' tangy like yogurt sauce, garlicky like a good tahini, but with a luscious creaminess that's all its own. So umami packed that I just doused it over my platter in criss-cross pattern for maximum coverage. Each bite is sure delight and satisfyingly good.
