I've passed The Hamilton Inn many times driving by and finally got around to trying it. We went on a Thursday around 6pm and there was ample seating both indoors and outdoors. The prices, especially for drinks, seemed really fair. I saw a coconut Negroni on the menu made with coconut water and decided to give it a try. It turns out it's made with a creamy coconut syrup - truly the sweetest cocktail I've ever tried. It wasn't for me, but they were very kind when I swapped it for the house champagne. We ordered the French onion soup dumplings, the short rib grilled cheese, and the burrata pasta. The French onion soup dumplings were really creative. It was a dumpling skin in the holes of an escargot dish, topped with French onion soup and broiled cheese. This dish was really cool, my only note would be that the dumpling skins were doughy and not cooked or noodle like. Burrata pasta was great, short rib, grilled cheese was good. Would definitely be back to enjoy more of the drinks, and try some other menu items. A lot of the dishes looked tempting and I'm looking forward to coming back. read more

We started with the cauliflower bites (Asian BBQ style), which unfortunately came drenched in so much sauce they were more soggy than crispy--you can probably tell from the photos. A coworker of mine recommended this spot for HH on wednesdays and after our first time here, its officially our fav spot! Wednesdays 4-10pm is $1 oysters and $11 specialty drinks! Cozy restaurant/bar setting with maybe 20 or so tables and a bar running the full length. Drinks came quickly. We went for the Oaxaca Nachos to start and those were great with the chicken added. From there we kept it simple, with orders of the corned beef sandwich and the short rib grilled cheese (which was more short rib than grilled cheese). I got the burger, I like that they keep it simple, it's a regular burger and they offer a bunch of add-ons to make it your own. I usually like my nachos covered but I really liked these simple nachos. To eat I had the French onion mac and cheese and my boyfriend had the 10th st cheesesteak with truffle fries. My mac and cheese was so delicious. This might be one of my top 3 mac and cheeses that I've ever had. It's a little soupy but the soup gets absorbed as you eat it. I will be dreaming of it until the next time I go. The cheesesteak was good, could've used a more cheese flavor/a kick but the meat was soo good. The truffle fries were also very good. We got another round of drinks, amaretto sour and Hamilton Pilsner. My drink didn't come with the egg whites which was a little sad but the drink was still good. I really like this place. Also tried what my ex had and it was great, a different egg Benedict option I feel like. Went for the first time in awhile recently and tried something new, got the short rib grill cheese and the wings as always (very crispy, flavorful, amazing sauce and not too much or little and great garnish every time). Short rib grill cheese, like all of their stuff, was amazing, tender boneless meat, great flavor and freshness/ crisp to the sandwich without being dry, hard or bland. Fries were slamming as well, think I've had them in the past and they're always good. Highly recommend, the type of place where everyone's meal at the table, no matter what they choose, hits. Could use some drinks deals on a Sunday in JC but the quality of the food makes the expensive / mid drinks okay. Bloody Mary was kind of pricey and just meh, not that notable. Came here for Sunday brunch with friends and it was a great time. Would recommend making reservations since it was packed by 11:30am. Appetizers: Buffalo cauliflower - huge chunks of cauliflower with light breading so it doesn't feel heavy and greasy. French onion soup dumplings - a bit disappointed by this. It came in an escargot plate with the intention of little dumplings in each holder. What it really was was French onion soup with thin/small dumpling skin that got lost in each little half-sphere with the whole thing covered in crispy cheese. It wasn't bad, just not as dumpling-esque as we were expecting. Cornbread French toast - technically a brunch entree but we ordered as an appetizer and it was delicious. Basically tasted like grilled corn bread that came with a delicious honey butter and blackberry jam. Not overly sweet either. Entrees: French dip sandwich - our favorite! They definitely don't skimp on the meat and the au jus is a thicker consistency so it doesn't feel like you're just dunking it in soup broth. If you're considering ordering this, you won't regret it! Lamb burger - also delicious. We ordered it cooked medium and it was perfect with the feta and onions. It didn't taste gamey at all (which is usually my hesitation with lamb burgers). Short rib grilled cheese - an elevated grilled cheese but only because the short rib was so tender. The bread was grilled to perfection but the cheese was pretty standard and there wasn't any au jus. I ended up picking out the short rib since there was more of it anyways. Montauk lobster roll - I didn't try this but it came loaded with bacon and lobster. My friend who ordered it said it was good but he would have ordered the French dip sandwich instead. Overall, the food is good with large portions but missing that attention to detail preventing it from being 5 stars. The room is nicely decorated and the atmosphere is good, it's lively but not too noisy. Service is great, friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They should specify that the Wednesday special martini is the extra dirty one on the regular menu. The waiter came around once like 15 min after we got our orders. The Hamilton Inn is Out. We were looking for a nice spot to have Sunday brunch for my birthday celebration and decided on a restaurant saved on my Yelp collection. Based on their fairly high prices for egg dishes, a full bar and a selection of mimosas and bellinis we chose The Hamilton Inn. The staff was very nice and considerate. Our waitress was patient and offered great recommendations. The dining room was tightly packed. Our table for 2 was surrounded by other groups of people only 2-3 feet away on all sides. The isle between the bar and our table can only accommodate 1 person passing by at a time. Non masked customers would have to hover over our table to let others walk by. Our table and chairs were on the smaller side and unwelcoming. The decor was cute with huge Christmas wreath on the front window. Plenty of natural light which was nice on a sunny Sunday. The dishes themselves were basic-ly fine. My queso fundido looked rushed and just piled on, no plating design effort whatsoever. The queso fundido was served with 2 tortillas with the top half stiff. Portions for all dishes were on the small side for the price. The flourless chocolate cake was yummy but order it early to avoid the 20 minute waiting time. read more

Never had a bad meal here. I just feel there's nothing wrong with this place. The interior is not too big, not too small. People are always friendly. I also love that it's located on a corner for some reason. The music is nice - usually a song you maybe forgot about and you're like "oh yeah, this is a good song". Portion sizes are enough where you can usually clean your plate and be content. I don't always need a meal where I can take some home. Sometimes it's nice to finish a meal in one sitting and feel content. I had the burrata pasta - made with a slightly spicy vodka sauce. I mean, can you go wrong with vodka sauce and burrata? I love the slight spice to the sauce - just enough heat to make things interesting. My husband got the chicken vodka parm - same sauce as mine just with chicken - so that was also good! Cutlet was a good thickness (not too thin, not too thick). You can also have that in sandwich form - which sounds awesome. I simply adore this place. We've had take out from Hamilton Inn before, but sat in and had a meal. We've taken my in-laws to a few spots in the neighborhood but usually more towards Grove Street. We made reservations about a week in advance and were able to grab a table for 10am on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Staff were very nice and friendly. I had the Queso Fundito and it was very good. The cheese sauce was very well flavored. I saw that they run HH Mon - Thurs, so we'll definitely be back for that. read more

Waiter took our food and drink order at the same time which is no problem. However, our food came out just a few minutes later. (All of which was likely pre made and left under a heat lamp) and drinks still hadn't showed up. Asked our waiter again. Said they were on the way. We were able to see the bar. Bartender seemed to be doing not much of anything. She was curt and unpleasant and said she was backed up when approached. (Truly didn't seem that way but what do I know) No follow up once we were served our food and late drinks which came when we were halfway finished. The fries that came with it were AMAZING, crispy on the outside soft on the inside. The actual benedict was a little lackluster. It lacked seasoning, and the eggs were not properly poached. It was like I was eating a boiled egg on top of steak and lobster. It didn't have enough hollandaise sauce either. When I gave the waitress the suggestion to tell the chef about the eggs, she stood there like a deer in headlights and said "Thank you." No suggestions to rectify the situation just "Thank you." Loving 'Camp Hamilton Park' -- a new spacious outdoor area complete with ample picnic seating, hanging string lights and an airstream bar. Yes, it's a very photogenic space and yes I snapped a ton of pics... #hadto You can order off the full Hamilton Inn menu, so this is a nice alternative if the regular outdoor seating section is full. Plus, the ambiance in the new outdoor section is way better. The goat cheese perogies are divine -- stuffed with so much cheese, perfectly pan fried and topped with lots of caramelized onions. It's always a must-order. I also had wings, but these were just okay. Lots of breading and not too much meat on the bone. Restaurants have worked so hard to make outdoor seating enjoyable, and at Hamilton Inn they've done a stellar job.
