They were charging a $10 cover at 7:45pm on a Wednesday (granted it was the evening of the Celtics Watch Party but still). Great local sports bar. When we were here it was right after a bruins game and the fans packed the place only to be followed by the Celtics fans as they came in to pregame for the game that evening. Great energy, a huge bar and nice menu tons of TVs for game watching. Two floors. It seemed as if the upstairs was louder and busier. The basement had TVs and its own bar, lots of tables too. We had an excellent time at The Harp before last Saturday's Bruins game. It was a 12:30 start so we were there early at 11am. We had the chicken quesadilla, chicken sandwich, pepperoni flatbread and steak and cheese sandwich. All we very good. We were on a tight schedule and we were so lucky to have our server Bri at our table. She kept everything flowing well and was very attentive to us and the many other tables she was working. Drinks stated full, food came out quickly and she made us feel comfortable with her fantastic personality. Got to the game on time because of her great service. The Harp was a very good time... from what I remember. My memory is a bit foggy from last Saturday night (I had a few too many brewskis) but I'll try to remember. We walked in around 9:30pm when there was no line and not too many people in the place. It started to pack up around 10:30-11pm and it was getting rowdy. I kept slipping and wiping out cuz the floor was mega slippery, but that was probably from the ocean of sweat that was coming off my body which could easily fill an Olympic sized swimming pool (or two). After my immense sweat dehydrated me I drank a few tequila shots for rehydration. Most of the drinks here were very expensive and I destroyed my bank account like Mount Vesuvius destroyed Pompeii. Overall, I recommend but I have a few notes. 1) Bring your last paycheck if you want to drink well here. 2) Bring water shoes just in case I happen to be there at the same time. read more

Just what we needed! We decided to make a quick trip to TD Garden to see the Celtics, but didn't eat before hand. The Harp was almost directly across the street so it was extremely convenient. We had burgers and beer, both were delicious. The server was great and the restaurant/bar area was very pleasant. "The Harp" in our neighborhood of the West End! During Winter in Boston, we made sure to explore our new neighborhood - particularly on the night of a Celtics game at TD Garden - and one of the bars we tried out during the game was here! Great bar, with a great vibe! This is definitely somewhere to grab a seat and a beer and watch the game (or - as was the case for many of the folks in the bar with us - a great spot to pre-game)! A community establishment for 30 years, "The Harp" is a tradition for most who frequent games and an easy spot for those traveling to the city for some drinks before the game. They have three bars, a wide beer selection, and some good looking bar snacks. Also, lots of screens to "tailgate" the game with. We have to say, in general, what so excites us about our new neighborhood of the West End/Causeway/North End area is this rich sense of authenticity and community. Be aware: it's quite full before and after a game at the TD Garden. Bring your patience and prepare for standing room only. Their hours are also all over the place - call ahead. My friends and I were looking for something to do to celebrate my birthday. After having dinner and hanging out, we came across this place since it was nearby. The music was not very good and same goes for the drinks. The people at the front were very nice and quick to wish me a happy birthday which I appreciated. There was a March Madness soccer match, and it was cold and raining cats and dogs. Many people sought shelter and warmth, food and drinks at The Harp where they could watch the game on the big screen tvs, so it was packed! So service was a little slow, of course ... it was actually faster than we thought it would be, with a crowd like that! When I worked in Boston, I regularly lunched at the Harp, and was eager to see if it was as good as I remembered. It was! My husband, who is usually not impressed, ordered a hamburger. My phone was taken out of my hand and I couldn't talk to the bartender as my situation occurred, the bartender refused service before interacting with me and another customer we looked at eachother confused but overall we're not able to resolve any issues related to our customer experiance. I always love watching the Bills game at a Bills Backers Bar. It's always fun to try the Buffalo menu items and cheer with fellow fans. I really enjoyed watching a Bills game at The Harp. We got to The Harp about one hour before the game started and all of the tables were already full! We lucked out and got a few seats together at the bar. There are so many television screens, you will have a good view of the game no matter where you sit. We ordered the following items to snack on during the game: 1. Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip - Easily our favorite dish that we ordered. The hot sauce was the perfect levels of tangy and spicy! 2. Buffalo wings - Not bad at all! We usually avoid ordering wings outside of Buffalo, but these were pretty crispy and delicious! 3. Chips and French Onion Dip - Also awesome! The dip was homemade and very tasty. 4. Margherita Pizza - Pretty good! It was probably the least memorable thing we ordered, but we finished every bite! Best part, they had Blue Light on tap! As I'm writing this review, a few tears are being shed. I just learned the passing of Charles. I am so sorry for your great loss, The Harp family. He was not only the friendliest bouncer, but truly one of the kindest person I had ever met. I used to go to the Harp many years ago with my girlfriends. Always a great time there, but then I realized that maybe a married woman should not be hanging out at the Harp with her single friends so much if she wanted a lasting marriage. That practice stopped. 20 years later I started going to the Harp again, this time with my husband. The Harp is the official Buffalo Bills Backers in Boston. A friend of mine asked, how do the Bills fans get the best Guinness bar in the country? Luck of the Irish, I guess. My husband is from Buffalo and a die-hard fan of the Bills. We started coming here to hang with other Bills fans. We figured if we're going to experience a Bills loss (which is a lot), we might as well commiserate with other Bills fans and several pints of Guinness along the way. But the first thing you would always see as soon as you walked in was Charles. Charles with his bigger than life smile telling you to "have a great time folks! Maybe they'll win today :-)" I cannot believe he is gone. It's surreal and beyond sad. I just saw him on Sunday. Charles was an integral part of your family. The Bills fans will miss him, as well the rest of your patrons who had come to know him, and loved him We will continue to watch the Bills at the Harp. Their Guinness is truly the best, this side of the pond. The Bills Burger with caramelized onions, bacon, and horseradish mayo is out of this world. Even better when you add the fried egg. Horrendous service... for my fellow BIPOC/ LGBTQ+ customers this is not the place that is welcoming or kind to us... should've gotten the hint after my groups initial interaction with the first bartender who was throwing us the receipt and pens and lack of acknowledgment... the other bartender proceeded to ignore us and when my friend was like okay?! The bartender proceeded to be aggressive and confrontational that we didn't have to yell at her when no one did and then when she realized she was in the wrong because she had served all of our white counterparts before us switched her attitude and proceeded to say she was not being intentionally being rude to us and proceed to over charge us on the drinks. Later on we had a few different uncomfortable interactions with other white customers where one came and made a show for us and placed his empty drink on our table... later on while my group was talking someone threw chewing tobacco at us... I have never been treated with so much disrespect in my life or felt like a place was so uncomfortable and unwelcoming due to my race or sexuality... additionally I would like to mention that the music was horrendous read more

I come here on Sundays for the Bills games and it is as wild as it gets. So much respect for the bartenders running around serving the packed bar unlimited pitchers of Labatt Blue. My buddy and I visit The Harp often during the NFL season. The Harp is the official bar of the Bills Backers of Boston. Both of us are originally from Upstate NY and we come down here to root for the Buffalo Bills with other Bills fans and we don't have to put up with the smack from our "other local friends." The speakers in the whole place are cranked up and most of the TVs are tuned in to the Buffalo Bills games. The food here is decent including the Ultimate Nachos, Burgers, and Chicken & Broccoli pasta. At the bar, we enjoy the draft beers, rum & cokes, gin & tonic, & non-alcoholic drinks (for the DD), but the Bloody Marys mix is not good according to my buddy. The service here is okay and the bar can get very busy and hectic. read more

Came here on a recommendation from a friend on a Saturday night for dinner and drinks. The ladies ordered a couple martinis that were in plastic cups, weak, and full of ice (strange presentation). I ordered the wicked spicy burger that was ok but overpriced for a frozen patty; the sautéed veggies I subbed for the fries redeemed the dish, though. The buffalo chicken dip tasted like butter, shredded chicken, and a tiny bit of buffalo sauce, unimpressive. Calamari was alright. We actually ventured downstairs for dancing, which would've been perfect had I been 21. People watching was fantastic, but you do have to watch out for flying elbows, broken bottles, and wet floors. The DJ did a good job of playing blast from the past mixed with current music. The mixed drinks downstairs seemed to be better made than upstairs (could've been a fluke just that day). Your best bet it to skip the food, be a young 20 something, come early enough to avoid the $10 cover, and enjoy a couple hours of dancing and attempted courtship. I was ordering club soda all night because I was not drinking, and after a few hours the bartender said to me "got anything good for those" and I said excuse me? And he proceeded to say again do you have anything good to put in those Club sodas? First off you should never have to explain to someone why you're not drinking, but to have a bar tender insinuate that you're spiking the club sodas is on another level. We went to the harp before a concert at gilette. We were told there was a 1.5 hour wait if we wanted to sit inside, but outside they were able to sit us shortly after they set the table. We waited a few minutes while this happened. During this time, lines of people started lining up and the 1.5hr wait turned into 3hrs. Not sure how that estimate worked when no other tables were sat while we waited. Once we did sited our server was very attentive and provided great service the entire time we were there. However, the food is not good. The chicken sandwich only covered half the sandwich. The cheese was still cold, and the chicken was cold. Another person in my party got the burger at medium rare, however, it didn't even look like it was cooked and that it had just came out of the fridge and had a quick sear to make it look cooked. The person who brought out our food didn't balance the trays fully when putting food on the table and one of the entrees fell all over a person in our party. They apologized and brought a new tray of food within 5 minutes. Not like we were expecting anything, but we did not get comped for anything here. Not impressed with the food at all for the prices. If we had known food was going to be undercooked and cold, we would've either waited in line somewhere else that had a longer wait, or eaten inside Gilette. read more

Honestly if I could give this place -5 stars I would. My sister and I were at the Harp a few weeks ago watching the Celtics. While standing next to the bar an older female employee with blonde hair came up from behind us and proceeded to rake her fingers through my sister's long blonde hair and screamed "I love your hair!". This was extremely startling and unsettling. In no situation is this appropriate behavior as there is never a solid nor good reason to touch someone without their consent, especially when the person can't see you coming towards them. I'm really hoping that the manager of this establishment sees this review and the employee is spoken to, as this was extremely upsetting to my sister and I. We definitely won't be back. Came here for Bills v Pats game. Prior reviewer was right about getting here early before game. Got here at 12pm for 1pm game, and there was only 1 or 2 tables open on main floor. We were only 2 person group so luckily got table. Downstairs there were many tables with projector set up, so that's where to go if you get here after 12ish on game day. Wings were good. Got 20 wings for $18. Not super crispy or spicy, but pretty good. Habanero tater tots for $9 were fantastic. Cheap $12 Labatt light pitchers during game. Tables are on the far right side to just chill. We ordered some Sam Adams summer ale's and just listened to the music. Safe to say that I will never be returning to this establishment ever again. This past Friday night was my first and last time to ever visit the Harp. A few friends and I came here to celebrate another friend's birthday, arrived and paid the cover to get in. From here we proceeded downstairs to check our coats in. My friend and I paid to have our coats checked on the same hanger, tipped the service and went back upstairs. At the end of our evening, my friend went to claim our jackets, handed the ticket to the girls working the coat check to have them reply "someone must have already claimed your jackets". This is in no way possible, seeing as when the coats were originally checked in only one claim ticket was handed back to us. Fortunately, my friend found her jacket thrown on the floor by the bathroom. However, mine was nowhere to be found. My $300.00 Black North Face Arctic Down Parka was mistakenly given to someone else. So now I am out $300.00 and without a jacket in freezing temperatures in the dead of winter in New England. One of the employees who was cleaning up at the end of the night who saw that I was visibly upset found a random coat check ticket on the floor and handed it to me to try to go up to the coat check to see if they could turn up with my jacket. Needless to say, my coat was not behind the coat check. We tried speaking with one of the managers there, Robert, that evening although this didn't prove to be helpful. Frustrated and upset, I left the bar my contact information in case the jacket turned up and in return they provided me with a bar sweatshirt. Although I understand that the gesture was meant to be kind, it by no way made up for the fact that I was out a $300.00 North Face Parka that I had just received for Christmas several months ago. I would be less upset after all of this if I hadn't have checked my coat and had left it laying around the bar and it got stolen that way. However, that was not the case. I paid to have my jacket looked after and taken care of, and the complete opposite happened. Which puts this establishment at fault for my lost item, to which they will not own up for. read more
