This little club pub has been restarted several times over the years, each time a lackluster attempt. For such a nice place as the beach club, expectations should be much higher. The atmosphere is nice, if a little sterile. The beer selection is reasonably good and priced similar to other craft brew tap houses. The service is adequate although usually understaffed. We ended up here for convenience. The coconut fried shrimp had the taste and texture of the pre-breaded variety from Costco. The burgers - tiny pucks of frozen patties cooked well past medium well were a disappointment at $9 - especially if your expectations had been set by the poolside grille in years past. The "double decker" key lime pie was single decker, ok but not great. Definitely not worth $8 a slice. For the money, not a value. read more

Some of the best food I've had in Gulf Shores. I had the Mahi over cheese grits and it was perfect! We had a group of 9 and our food arrived quick. The waiter was knowledgeable of the menu and made great suggestions. It has a fun environment for kids as there's an arcade area and you can even play x-box all day for $2. We ate here one evening while staying at The Beach Club (early/mid September 2016). I believe this may be considered their non-peak season. I had a cheeseburger with french fries, so nothing too extravagant. It was really fresh and made to order. They didn't go light with the cheese, so that was a plus! It was very juicy too! Super delicious burger and fries! We don't have kids but the environment was really kid friendly. There were plenty of games to keep adults and children entertained. We sat at the bar and although the bartender was busy, we were really happy with the service. The bathrooms were clean, the lighting was just right and the noise level was perfect. read more

This Gem is an amazing find on Fort Morgan Road in Gulf Shores! Fresh and super delicious!! The staff is so fun and friendly!

I had a party of 10, we are vacationing from North Ga and we had a great meal. We must have hit it on the right day and the right time because we only waited a few minutes and it was almost 6pm. Our waiter did a great job and was on point. I had the Blackened Mahi sandwich as it was delicious, my wife and other ladies had Mahi tacos and they were good as well. Kids all had chicken tenter meals and I tried one and they weren't bad either, I can't speak for the other reviews but we had a great meal. I agree with a previous Mac and cheese comment, needs to be something on the kids meal to cover that food group for kids. read more

Have always enjoyed the location of the Beach Club area...the atmosphere with the food trailers is so fun with all the families and activities for kids. I guess with all the restrictions only 3 trailers were open so we tried the Village Hideaway. I have struggled with how to add my review based on what I am about to share. Bottom line, we ordered two appetizers before our meal, onion rings and fried pickles. We finished them pretty quickly but I couldn't allow any of the fried crumbs to go to waste. As I munched my way through the crumbles I bit down on something hard..I retrieved two pieces of glass and a small shard from my mouth. I'm was shocked. Took me a moment to realize what had just happened. My family and I assumed it was part of a broken pickle jar since it was similar in thickness to the top that type of container. We told our waitress and she took the plate with the glass pieces to her manager. The manager first said, "oh, we've had a bad day today, what happened?" He apologized and said he had removed fried pickles from the menu and that a little glass wouldn't hurt me? He removed the charge for the fried pickles along with $25 from our bill. I am still in shock about possibly swallowing a small piece of glass but i guess I'm ok so far. This has obviously caused me to be overly cautious towards dining out at any restaurant especially Village Hideaway. Our waitress was new but she was very nice and helpful. Amanda the Hostess was extremely rude. When asked to speak to the manager, she said, "when I get done with this I'll get her." as she was looking down she was also making faces. Manager happens to walk up, I told that Amanda is rude, and she did apologize but added that they are overwhelmed right now. A couple that heard me talking to the manager chimed in with "she sure is rude." Waiting an hour to eat, so hopefully the food is better than the staff. We will see. read more

We arrived at the restaurant at 6:45pm and had food orders in by 7pm. At first everything seemed fine; nice environment, friendly waiter, etc. 7:45 rolls around and we still don't have food. We ordered one large pizza and a bacon avocado turkey sandwich. We kindly asked a waiter who was not ours (ours had seemingly disappeared after an hour of us waiting) when we could expect our food. With two fussy little ones, restaurants are somewhat difficult. He replied by saying that it's only their second day back after the shutdown and that our food would be out in five minutes. Twenty minutes went by and we still did not have food and no explanation as to what was going on. At this point the kids are crying and we are receiving disapproving glances. All of the waiters are avoiding eye contact w us at this point. We considered just getting up and leaving but they then quickly brought our food out. The food was fine, it was not bad. But when the bill came for waiting an hour and thirty minutes for basic food, we were pretty surprised. $50 for a small sandwich and a 12" pizza. When asked for a discount for all of our waiting, they took $3 off our our bill. Talk about "quality service" if you're catching my drift. Honestly just don't waste your time or money. It was not worth the wait and you might as well just cook this average food in the comfort of your condo for much less money and time. read more

Worst food at the beach - ever. "Award-winning" gumbo was nothing more than beef broth (to call it Campbells would be a compliment) and a few peppers with sausage. The nachos were served cold with shredded cheese (not melted), jalapeños, salsa and sour cream. The chef came out and apologized with a smile on his face and said well ok have a good night. The beer is cold and priced right. The food and service well thats another story. We stopped in to grab a few appetizers and beers while we watched the NCAA championship game. We waited at the bar for five minutes before being acknowledged and another five before our drink order was taken. Like I said the beer was cold. The Nachos were too. My husband, 6 month old daughter and myself came here for a late lunch because of the convenience. Biggest mistake of our vacation. We aren't high class people - we don't require much to make us happy- but I'm still stewing at the service. I've never encountered a server so awful- she rolled her eyes when anyone walked in to be seated, moved at the pace of a 3 legged turtle, and didn't greet us for 15 minutes after we arrived. It is a nice new place. Good sports on the numerous TVs. Decent local beer on tap. Food ranges from acceptable to good. I had great service from a bartender when I had a beer while I waited for take out. Another time we had a waitress who seemed really confused and under trained. Lastly after being told that they delivered to our cottage at the Beach Club and did take out I called and spoke with a rude person that claimed he has to serve the folks there first and he had "60 people waiting to be seated " so no take out at 8:20pm at night. This was untrue s I stopped in moments later. But most of the folks who work at the Beach Club seem to fall into this category of being under trained and young. So go for the atmosphere and the beer but don't expect any great service. Finally this place along with a bunch of others nearby closes at 9pm. Plan accordingly! read more

We have stayed at the beach club for the last seven years and stayed clear of the Village Hideaway due to previous issues. I have to tell you that we gave it another try a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it. Food was amazing, staff was courteous and prompt. We'll definitely go back again next summer. Entire Beach Club resort has no non-alcoholic beers at all despite having two large restaurant bars. Having just one option sure would help for those many people who cannot have alcohol. read more

Went on a Sunday evening. Food was excellent-- cheese bread for appetizer and chicken Alfredo pasta and side salad were delicious; large portions also. Service was good. Nice atmosphere and nice place for families to unwind after long days of sun. read more

Just lost my favorite lunch choice on Fort Morgan. Just in time for July 4th, The Village Hideaway at Beach Club put out new menus. My favorite chicken nachos jumped from $10 to $14. My back up plan hamburger jumped from $9 to $14. Similar increases across the board. Sure wish I could get a 40% raise that easy. Oh well, back to the mainland for us. Complete garbage food that takes an hour to come out. Even when you're the only person in the restaurant. And make sure you don't play any of there games because they will charge you without your knowing. Staff is awful. Waited at the door for 5 minuets before a host finally came and then the server didn't come for another 15. There were 3 other tables including me.
