Always Always good to stop here. Baja Fish Tacos once again delivered. Ironically could not eat all three but having one to go is never a bad option. Good flavor nice people watching on an eclectic neighborhood. What more could you ask for?

So this morning, I woke up not really knowing what I wanted to eat. My girl and I were debating: traditional breakfast or just something regular? We decided to give Highland Park Cafe a try. At first, I was a little hesitant--you know, parking can be a pain. But we found a spot right in front, and bonus: it was free because it was Sunday. Perfect start. Inside, the vibe was awesome--lively, nice energy. Everyone chatting, good energy. We opted to sit outside, though, because I always prefer that to feeling stuffy indoors. The only hiccup? The outdoor tables were mostly dirty and you kinda had to wipe them down yourself. As someone who does restaurant consulting, I'd just say that's one easy fix they could do--have staff wipe the tables more consistently. Also, just a tip for them: adding straws to the silverware bin would be a nice touch so people don't have to ask for them. We also learned it's more of a café setup, not a full-service restaurant, so you order at the counter. Not my favorite thing, but hey, it's a café vibe. Once we got to the menu, I was intrigued by their tinga de pollo. I'm a tinga guy, and they made it as a shredded chicken burrito, which was a nice surprise because I didn't know they at first. Which was my next big win: "CUSTOMER SERVICE." Customer service was fantastic, super friendly cashier who helped me out with my order and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. As at first I didn't know they had Tinga de polla in a burrito version. I saw the plate initially and asked if they could make it into a burrito, and she said she did not see a problem with that. Then ended up recommending the shredded burrito; which turned my experience up. When it comes to the food, the presentation was top-tier. My girl got the chilaquiles verdes and gave them an 8 out of 10. I got the tinga de pollo burrito, and it was really well-balanced and flavorful--an easy 8.3 out of 10 from me. The honey chai was the absolute standout, a 9.8 out of 10. The James Brown coffee, though? For me, it was more like a 3 out of 10 because of how strong the espresso was. My girl gave it an 8, so it might just come down to taste. I'm a coffee snob, so I'm picky! Overall, I'd rate the whole experience 4 out of 5 stars. Customer service was fantastic--super friendly staff who helped customize my order. If they just tweak those little details, this place could easily be a 5-star spot. And I'll definitely be back for that honey chai!

Was in the mood for a breakfast burrito and found this spot on yelp. I decided to give it a try and wow was really impressed! The business itself is super cool and has lots of art and displays that catches your eye as you wait for your food. The customer service was super nice and welcoming and gave great recommendations. We additionally ordered fresh orange juice which was the cherry on top with our food. Our burritos came out quick and hot! Overall really great spot to come check out !

That Playlist though! Talk about a range of genres! The spot is consistent with their coffee, breakfast and workspace availability. Plenty of outlets and low wait for for food to table service. Gotta try that James Brown latte!

Met some friends for lunch at 12:30 on Friday the 13th. Easily secured parking off Lincoln in the public parking lot and walked through the buildings to York Bl. Parking is metered quarters or card. Easy! Ordered at the counter. Service was expedited quickly, before all of our other guests arrived, which was fine. Ambiance is very casual with local art on the walls. Sound level was OK, ambient music was a little loud but not overbearing. Not too crowded to feel rushed to flip the table. Enjoyed the chilaquiles and the turmeric latte. One of my friend had the fish tacos which could be shared if people aren't too hungry. Came with three heaping tacos... needed to be eaten with a fork. Check it out if you haven't already.

We came here before for a hosted bachata class and thought we'd give it a try for breakfast. They have indoor and outdoor seating and while it was somewhat chilly we appreciated the sun peaking out a bit between the umbrella shades. I got a chicken fajita breakfast bowl which consisted of some Spanish rice, pico de gallo, chicken fajita and a tostada. It did the trick for my appetite although I would have appreciated more salt; I ended up getting some Tapatio to amp up the spice. Overall, the service was pleasant, but not too attentive --it's nice if you like the idea of ordering up front and self-seating. We had to sit outside because we had our pup in a stroller, but we appreciated being in one of our fave streets in the neighborhood and enjoying a quiet morning. We will give it another shot and maybe order something that the staff suggests but the location is prime on York Blvd and we suggest you grab a coffee at the Cafe De Leche shop nearby. :)

    Sesame Salmon Salad $16

The Highland Café has been a staple in the area for quite some time. Even though it is next door to Johnny's Bar, which I frequented often, I have never been inside or tried the food. They serve salads, sandwiches, burgers, and vegan fare. The other day I ordered the Sesame Salmon Salad for delivery. The Salmon was pan seared with a sesame ginger glaze. It was on a bed of mixed greens with edamame, cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots, & sesame seeds tossed in a sesame dressing. The ginger glaze gave the salmon a good flavor and it was tender & flaky. The salad was also tasty. I liked the flavor combinations and the dressing.

This cafe is super cute!! I honestly loved the decor and the variety of seating that is available for their customers. You can definitely come here to study or spend time working on homework. My partner and I came here to grab some coffee before heading to the bagel spot next door. Although it was a quick grab n go, I really admire the cafe's aesthetic. The staff was very friendly and quick with their service was well. We didn't wait that long for our coffees. Also, my matcha was super good! I got it with sugar free vanilla for that extra flavor and sometimes I worry about matcha lattes being watered down, but it was perfect! My partner although was a bit disappointed with his cold brew. He was hoping it would be strong, but I guess it wasn't strong enough for him :( he's honestly just so used to drinking so much coffee...

Stumbled upon this spot while in the area and I loved my James Brown Latte! They also had some great fresh squeezed OJ. The interior was very unique and the guys working there were so friendly! I would love to come back here again!

One of the few cafe in HP along York blvd. The Highland cafe has a hipster vibe that serve decent breakfast food. The staff are amiable and competent. The food and drink prices seem economically fair for the area. Menu list items were modest. The interior is quaint and relatively small albeit very cozy. Honestly, their latte coffee has a good taste and the Challah French Toast with slices of strawberry/banana was a lil dry for my palate but the maple syrup did the trick. Overall, I had a good order experience and enjoyed their food/drinks.

Super cute and it feels like a place you can come to chill. People at front are so sweet and make the place feel very welcoming. Food is a 10/10, coffee amazing. We tried the James brown and Mayan mocha and they were delicious.

Everything was delicious! Soyrizo chilaquiles was amazing and generous portion. Bf's Hamlette omelet was real yum too. Would definitely go again. Fast and friendly service. Seating outdoor and indoor. Street parking. Chill vibe.

The espresso leaned noticeably bitter from the first sip through the finish, and it was served a bit hotter than ideal, which made it harder to pick up sweetness and clarity in the cup. The milk texture was decent, but not quite as polished as my previous visit. That said, this is still a very cool coffee shop. Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience during my visit this morning. There was a miscommunication with my coffee and my daughter's chocolate milk, as both were initially served hot. I politely asked if they could be remade cold, and the staff member kindly agreed. However, when the drinks were returned, it was clear that ice had simply been added to the hot beverages. As a result, both drinks were watered down and unpleasant. By the time I got home, I had to throw my coffee away because it tasted so poor, and my daughter's chocolate milk had the same issue. I was very disappointed, especially after clearly requesting the drinks to be remade cold. It felt like a waste of money and did not reflect the quality of service I have come to expect from Zweets Café.
