By far the best Home Depot in California. This store is staffed by a fantastic crew, all go out of their way to help you. Displays done right sales items easy to locate. The garden department, is one of a kind, the Laguna Hills weather keeps a healthy selection of plants, trees bushes whatever your needs. The store and all departments are well organized always clean. Paint department staff is super. Pleasant experience shopping here

This is the saucer that caused it all! I never thought a trip to exchange a saucer would be so awful!

Customer Service POOR: Employee named Tali, delivered the most inconsiderate and condescending customer service today during my weekly visit to this location. We always visit this location because it is our favorite, and our puppy is loved by the employees there; however, today the staff seemed to be a different crew and it really showed how the quality and caliber of the employees can really shape the experience for customers - in a positive and negative way. Employees that lack training and consideration can really taint the experience of customers. Went to the store to exchange a saucer for a plant we are trying to revive, and to my misfortune, I encountered a young girl named Tali who treated me with such inconsideration and rudeness. Tali really made the encounter unpleasant and eluded to her inability to assist with an exchange, acting as if there was NOTHING that could be done in my situation and that I would have to drive all the way back home to get the receipt from my husband for this 8-dollar saucer. At the point where I was finally prepared to drive back home, I finally said, "Tali, are you sure you can't somehow exchange this 8-dollar saucer so that I can get the same saucer but larger for my potted plant"? Only then...after a back and forth did she concede that she could "try" to return it "without a receipt" for an exchange. (Please note: My husband had the receipt, but I would have to drive all the way home to get it from him). After asking to get a manager to join the conversation, we were able to successfully complete the simple transaction via a return without a receipt to exchange for the same saucer but larger in size to fit the plant pot. To top the experience off, Tali made sure to say, "Have a nice day maam" -- but in a VERY condescending tone. We all know and can sense when a person is insincere in their greetings and partings - it was a very uncomfortable experience. I have NEVER had a negative experience at this Home Depot prior to this encounter...this location has always been our number one store, but there has definitely been a disappointing change in the staffing and it shows. Tali's colleague - another young girl - continued to give me a dirty / harsh look during the entire encounter; so not certain what is going on at this location, but it is unpleasant :(

Stopped in after visiting friends, to see what was available in the garden department. The outdoor area was open with dedicated checkout. There is also a large indoor section dedicated to indoor/outdoor plants. Checkout was easy and there was plenty of parking.

Hey everyone! I want to share my experience. I lost my Milwaukee knife -- a super handy 6-in-1 tool. You can open beer with it, cut shrink wrap, and it even has a screwdriver. It's one of those essential tools every man should always have in his pocket. Just yesterday, I lost that knife. But today I went to Home Depot and found the exact same one! I also picked up a Milwaukee hammer while I was there. By the way, I'm a big Milwaukee fan. So I highly recommend Home Depot to everyone. Cheers

Mmmm love that Noble Pine smell!!

When I walked in, two employees were standing at the registers talking with each other. Neither acknowledged me, paused their conversation, or even looked up as I entered. I brushed it off at first, assuming they were simply caught up in what they were discussing. I couldn't find the door handle I needed, so I approached one of the employees at the register. He said he would call someone to meet me in the aisle. I returned to the aisle and an older employee walked right past me, made eye contact, and said nothing. When he came back, he looked at me and said only, "Yeah?" in a dismissive tone. I showed him the handle and asked whether it was available or could be ordered. He replied, "It's a special handle, we don't have it," and immediately walked away. The lack of basic courtesy, acknowledgment, or willingness to help was surprising and disheartening. I left feeling unwelcome and judged. I don't like assuming the worst, but the way I was treated -- while wearing a bright pink polo and presenting as an openly gay man -- felt pointed. Whether intentional or not, it was hurtful. Customers deserve respect, professionalism, and at minimum, simple acknowledgment. This experience fell far short of that. Shame on them for allowing this kind of treatment.

For my limited requirements (general house handyman stuff) this fits perfectly. Unlike the big box stores, there is always someone available. When needed they will find the right person (expert) to give me the information I need. Unlike the big box stores the person actually knows what they are talking about. The people who work here are extremely knowledgeable. Thanks to them: 1. My drains remain clear (even in my daughters shower) 2. I have the right lightbulbs in each room (I got a 30 minute detailed lecture) 3. Anything hanging on my walls can handle the weight correctly. 4. My paint matches when I touch up. 5. My tool bag has the right tools in it. 6. I have the right tool bag. 7. My showers are free of lime, hardwater and rust 8. My car leather looks awesome. I could go on but you get the point. The selection is clearly smaller than some other stores. But I go here to get 'help' and not just to buy things. For someone like me this place is perfect.

Expect to wait about ten minutes for someone to hopefully show up and cut keys, then give up and track someone down yourself. There are old workers milling around the store doing inventory and chatting, but none of them have time to help cut some keys? Look, I get it, cutting keys by hand is tedious, time consuming, and probably annoying. But telling a customer that "it's a lot of work, I can do it later" is not a good way to run a business and retain a customer. I'm happy to drive a little further to find someplace that's more willing to help.

The outdoor items of the store had soil & amendments and plants for sale. The perlite was for $9.99, yikes! Home Depot sells it for about $5.97. Then I saw it, a beautiful succulent with lots of pups already but it didn't have a price tag. I had a feeling it wasn't going to bode well as this is one of those boutique type of shops at this plaza. It might as well be the Erewhon or Gelson's of home & gardens shops, unlike Home Depot. You know what I mean? Typically this would sell for about $4-7 but it's $9.99! But it's so pretty and it has many pups for me to distribute & repot. Toby at the cashier stand helped me out. He was knowledgeable & amiable. Additionally, he offered valuable info about the lady bugs & praying mantis that are sold to help our ecosystem. I didn't do much browsing, just purchased my succulent and went my merry way. It was a great experience but the prices here are definitely more for upscale shopping.

I also tried to flag down an associate but he couldn't scurry away fast enough. I literally ran after him shouting EXCUSE ME!! CAN YOU HELP ME FIND A PRODUCT??? The associate couldn't muster any sense of concealing annoyance. He told me they only sell mulch glue online and walked away without any further assistance. I had to return all of them due to every items having scratches and gashes. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to even sell it in the condition it was in when I placed an order as an online pickup. All in all, much better to drive the extra distance to visit Lowes in San Clemente. The employees are happy to assist and the store is much cleaner and easier to navigate.

I also like seeing their e-mail specials, coupons and freebies for making purchases. Recently I was contemplating whether "mechanics gloves" would work as full-finger weight training gloves in order to reduce the oils and sweat from my hands during workouts. A couple of years ago I put a lot of time, effort and expense into sanding and repainting my dumbbells with a nice forged pewter color. I would like to do more to preserve that. I tried the Harbor Freight HARDY brand "High-dexterity impact-resistant work gloves" that are a mechanics style with the rubber pads on top. I preferred the lower end thinner ones, but they were not very comfortable. I did notice the run a little small. I have very average-sized hands and normally wear a large (L), but those were tight with these, so I got the x-large (XL) with these Hardy's. The touchscreen compatible sort of kind of worked with the thumb and index finger but was not easy. Maybe the gloves need to be a snug fit? Maybe not? They do appear durable and are nice looking. I did an Internet search, and it appears you "may" be able to machine wash them. If I try that I will place them in firmer laundry zipper bag and wash them on GENTLE cycle in cold water. Then I would place them on a paper towel to air dry indoors. In the end, these were not a good fit for my needs as they were too bulky and thick. I will keep looking and maybe try another brand and smaller profile version of mechanics gloves. The staff here are always polite and efficient.
