When I lived in Orange, this was my go-to Home Depot. Now that I am in the Tustin area, there is a larger Home Depot that is a bit closer to home. However, I still come to this store because it seems cleaner and better organized than some other Home Depot stores. This store does not seem to have as big a lumber selection as some other stores, but you can probably find what you need for most home projects. There is plenty of parking, the staff seems courteous, and the store is pretty clean for a Home Depot. When I am out and about running errands and my travels take me to north Orange, I have no problem stopping in at this Home Depot to get what I need for my latest home project. read more

Minus 2 Stars for having to wait 40 minutes to do a return for a product purchased online AND THEN telling me that they couldn't help Plus 1 Star for usually having people on the floor who are willing to help, and some kind folks who will help me with some of the heavier stuff, post-spinal injury. This place is just down the street and up the block, it's my go-to, for anything I need right away... now for fixtures and countertops and stuff that is marked up, of course I'll go to a specialty shop or online... but for most basic stuff and home necessities... I have said these words many times. "I HATE HOME DEPOT!!!!!" So when my bf wanted to go last night to get "man things", I was not to thrilled. Usually, Home depot stores are cluttered and crazy, with no employees in sight to help. As a matter of fact, I've been in locations where I've literally seen employees RUN from approaching customers. Not this location. This one has very helpful employees who directed my boo into the isle he needed. He has a heavy accent, and they were patient with him. They found exactly what he was looking for ( I couldn't tell what he was saying, lol) and made his purchase easy. The store is VERY CLEAN and organized, something I've found over the years that most HD stores lack. They even had an array of beautiful orchids, one of which my baby got for me for coming with him and not complaining. This location is a total win. read more

How convenient! I m renovating my house, and this place is right around the corner! So I decided to paint my room Glidden Lagoon Blue to give it the tropical feel. Nothing like waking up and thinking you are on vacation. Little that I know that I didn't need primer if my original color is lighter then my new color. Thanks to this very friendly employee working at the paint department, I got the perfect mix for my room. Now its looking very classy. I was also looking for a cleaner TSP product. I was totally about to pick up the wrong bottle and check out, but the girl chased me down the aisle to make sure I picked up the right thing. She had me set down the "crappy product" and got me just the right thing I needed. Now thats an angel in an orange robe! I can't wait to finish all my renovations and move in soon. PS. If you're looking for a decent Home Depot in the city of Orange, this is the one to visit. After discovering the Tustin store was out of a particular fitting, I was forced to come here in search of a solution for my kitchen sink installation. Solution? Joe in the plumbing department. Yeah, I know what you're thinking, Joe the Plumber. Ha, ha, ha...ummm, no. Actually, Joe in the plumbing section of this Home Depot really knows his stuff. He quickly informed me that the particular piece I was looking for isn't made anymore and quickly suggested an alternative. I didn't have all the specs on my pipe situation, but he assured me that the parts he gave me would work. Guess what. They did. Long story short, my new kitchen sink's installed, working great, and (best of all) not leaking all over the place like the piece of crap sink we originally had. If you've been to one Home Depot, you've basically been to them all. As far as the rest of this particular Home Depot is concerned, it's one of the bigger stores I've seen. They've got a humongous parking lot to go along with it, too. In my experiences, this place isn't the busiest of Home Depots, which is great for me, but bad for them. We have purchased a washer from Home Depot and during that time my husband did not receive good customer service. He had to go looking for an employee to assist him. We needed a washer at that time and Home Depot had good prices so we end up purchasing from them. This second time around we went in for a refrigerator. We were there for 20 minutes and not one employee asked if we need any assistance!! There were employees in that department at the time. One was helping a customer and once done with them did not even bother to greet us. Very disappointed in their customer service. Home Depot has good prices but after being neglected this time we'll be shopping at Lowes for our refrigerator. A simple greet or approaching would have changed this whole experience. read more

So we came to this Home Depot for some supplies for a new fence. They carry the items we needed but a few were out of stock (or they were to lazy to get them) according to the employee that helped us. He checked there system and it showed that there should be a good amount in stock but he had no idea where they could be. Then we had to wait because they were restocking some lumber and the guy on the fork lift kept messing up, although I have to say it was very amusing to us, he kept hitting all the shelves. read more

This is by far the best Home Depot store that I ever go too. Everyone is super helpful and looking to help and educate their customers! I have been going to several different Home Depots around Orange County, and this branch always has the best service by far. I usually find more product varieties than other Home Depots as well. Has gone down the shit hole fast. It used to be OK and since it's local, this is where I have picked up most of my home improvement supplies. It so happens that they screwed up 4 times on a measure for a sliding glass door with a stucco exterior, and then most recently on a pergo floor install. Granted, these were mostly their subcontractors but the customer service in the stores has also gone to shit. They couldn't see their way clear to resolve the situation, in either case. On the sliding door, I went to Lowe's. It got installed, permitted, and completed. The stucco looks great now; no thanks to home depot. On the Pergo flooring, the installers were paid to remove the partial vinyl flooring but they didn't do that or even scrape the concrete subfloor to make sure it didn't rock back and forth. Then they wanted $2800 to smooth and level the floor. Needless to say we kicked their ass out the door and hired a trusted installer. He smoothed and scraped like it should get done, and he finished in two days. Now, IT LOOKS AWESOME, no thanks to home depot. Btw, we tried to work thru both issues with HD, and the store manager couldn't be bothered to answer the damned phone. Today, I came in for fluorescent tubes and saw that they sell LEDs as replacements for the same size, but I didn't see them on the shelf. I asked two different employees to send someone from lighting to help. I waited 15 minutes, No one showed up. I'm done with home depot. I just cut up my HD card. I didn't think I would ever say this.. or be writing a review for Home Depot of all places. However, my latest experience at this Home Depot was painless for a city girl who doesn't really engage in home improvement activities on a daily basis. With that said, Home Depot can be an intimidating place (yes, especially those orange aprons!) for people like me. I came here with parentals on Black Friday (towards the evening hours). Our goal was to purchase a new fridge. We went to the kitchen section and browsed through the area. Our sales rep, Mike (I think that was his name), was extremely helpful and patient. He answered all our questions and was genuine, not sales-y. He also offered some great suggestions as for disposing our old fridge and ways to get a rebate for that. I have been working on my vegetable garden for the past couple weekends and had to make a few trips here. I have to say the employees here are on top of there game. I can't walk down a aisle without someone saying hello or asking if you need help. To make things even better it seems everyone I have interacted with knows there stuff. Ryan in the Tool Rental Center is a national treasure. We had big wooden letters that needed holes drilled, and we had been in such huge distress trying to figure out how to do it. We tried every single way and nothing was working. Ryan was helpful, attentive, and listened to our problem. He jumped at the chance to help and had SUCH. A great attitude throughout. He was our beacon of hope. His tenacity and positive spirit is nothing like I've experienced in customer service. He asked us to being the letters to the Home Depot location and he DRILLED THE HOLES HIMSELF. I asked him 'Ryan, thank you so much, but I hope I'm not taking you away from your job?' EXCELLENT customer service. As soon as you walk in, you're greeting (no different than any other Home Depot). But then, they ask if they can help you find anything - and they actually know EXACTLY where anything you could need is located. As you walk through the store, you are almost guaranteed to be greeted by every employee you happen to pass by, all of whom also know where anything/everything is located. This Home Depot is okay not great. If you really want an item you best bet is to go to the one in savi-rach or Tustin market as they are both bigger stores with more stock. The biggest problem with this homedept is the parking lot. They don't maintain it. They let abandoned cars sit there for months (and don't remove them when people complain), they don't pick up the trash, it is Really really poorly lit at night. I've know multiple people who have had their cars broken into in there lot and they are doing nothing to make it a safer parking lot. read more

Went here late one night looking for a tower fan. After going to 2 other locations. The first location had me walking around the whole place only to find no fans. The second told me as it is not in season they do not have any in stock, tho online shows 7. So I came to the Tustin Home depot. Dont know why I went to others when I've always had great service here. Out of my way but worth it. Spent 40 minutes waiting for six people to call someone to assist me and fencing no one knew the answer to a simple. After six different so-called "pros" no one including the pro desk could answer what bolts do I need to attach a post to a building. Is it too much to ask for the employees to know where things ARE in their own store? I went to this Home Depot for solar lighting and packing tape. I asked employees for locations on both items. It took me a total of five employees to get correct answers to find just the two items I was looking for, and I'm pretty sure I hit at least 16 aisles just in walking back-and-forth following bad leads given to me by the staff. They were very earnest and helpful, which was cool -- but it kind of made it worse, because I TRUST you when you say "aisle 4, sir!" in that helpful tone, only to walk down there and pace back and forth because I swear I said "packing tape" and this is all like "putty" and whatnot. Just admit it if you don't know, ok? So - if you need a home depot, you can't be too discriminating when it comes to customer service. I mean, hardware is hardware, and I'm assuming if you need some type of "fitting" or "plywood" or something, you've gotta go where they sell it. I'm not going to tell you "stay away." Like I have any other alternatives. I don't know anything about home repair products. Still, be aware that if you need to find something, it might be quicker just to grab a store map and navigate it yourself. I feel like the staff must be trained in the "appearance is 90% of accuracy" mentality - which is cool if you're a basketball ref, but not if you're a retail specialist. read more

I wanted to write this review based on the excellent customer service I received from Brandon. My fiance and I came in to purchase a vacuum I found on the Home Depot website on sale. Brandon had exceeded our expectations by his knowledge of the product and his genuine recommendations for buying a vacuum that was a little more money but a much better purchase. He was prepared to answer all my questions regarding the vacuum maintenance and warranty as well as assistance with some carpet and rugs. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. 1 out of 10 employees help us and was vey nice. Tried to buy 5K worth of appliances and was successful. Only to find out my order was lost and wasn't going to get my appliances until weeks later. Get a refund? FORGET ABOUT IT. They will not work with us and commitments were not delivered. They had me at BBQ sale. I must say that when we purchased our house and had some work to do before moving in, we went to this HD and they helped with everything. From insulation, to garden supplies, to paint. Everyone helped us whenever we needed. After we moved in we were replacing a fridge, they price matched an online price for the same model, when the order was placed they forgot tho tell us it wasn't in stock, and none were in transit. I asked what they could do to remedy the situation, and the store manager who is a great guy, and will talk to you if there is a problem, gave us a slightly bigger fridge/freezer for the price of the one that we originally wanted saving us an extra $120. I have never had problems with returns, and every question that I have had for them has been answered. read more

The restrooms are clean, the store itself is huge, and for the amount of different items I've had to purchase there for the multitude of different jobs I've had to complete, they have pretty much everything I've needed. read more

I used to love Home Depot. Everything about it, the huge store is filled with just about everything you could possibly imagine for your home, business, and just about everything you could imagine. Isle after isle filled with innovative things in every category from lumbar, to paint, lighting, electrical, plumbing, tools, nuts and bolts and so much more. It really reminds me of a store like Costco, because you go in looking for a specific item, and always end up checking out with a cart full of things you had no intention of buying. I'm a kid in a candy store when I'm there. Unfortunately my last few visits have really left me a bit jaded. The Home Depot employees are there for you when you need help, this is a huge plus. When you don't know where something is, or have a question, it's always easy to find someone with an orange apron on to assist. But the checkout process has really changed. They've gone towards the Walmart model of having you check yourself out. No human interaction in the end, which I believe is the most important part of the transaction, when you're parting with your hard earned money. My last few visits I've literally looked to see if there was a register open with a person that could check me out, as I refuse to go to the self check out isles at any store. They keep two registers open for the "Pro" people, and non for the regular person who is not it the construction business. I'm now contemplating any further purchases there and possibly finding another place to take my business. read more

My husband and I are both previous Orange Box employees so the need for staff 'know how' isn't as high as it is for others, but we do appreciate that when we need help, it is available. read more

Good place to go for hardware, but to tell the truth, I hate HD, most of the people at the three I go to have no clue were anything is, I am better off hunting the item down myself. I've been shopping here regularly since they opened 20 or so years ago. The service has declined so much in the. past 1-2 years that I can't stand to go there any more. They crowd their isles with merchandise they are pushing making it impossible to pass someone coming from the opposite direction without backing down a side isle. It's ridiculous and there's no excuse for it other than their own corporate greed...#sellsellsell. (Hello OSHA) Staffing is a huge problem as it it is nearly impossible to find help when you need it. Just finding a shopping cart can be a problem. I had a bad experience in the paint department yesterday that has caused me to finally decide to stop shopping here in the future...I live only 3 miles from them but will be using another HD store further away from now on. read more

I am so angry with this store. I want to buy something. The website states that this store has 5 in stock. After spending 15 minutes trying to find that product, I asked a store clerk for help. She told me that the inventory tracking system online is wrong and they do not have it. Brick and mortar stores are good for one thing...seeing the product in person. I'd like to give a shout out to the crew here. First off, they have always been helpful and have had what I need since I moved to Orange some years ago. Tonight, my shower valve cartridge stopped working and we could not turn the water off! Mind you this happens at 9pm tonight. By the time I have the water shut off, the trim removed, and the valve taken down to the cartridge it was ten minutes until 10pm which is when Home Depot closes. So long story short, I pull up to Home Depot at 10:05. I know it's a pain when a customer comes in right before closing, much less right after, but the crew here tonight greeted me and pointed me in the right direction and had a helpful attitude about it. Very refreshing and comforting knowing that this team is willing to accommodate last minute, late night emergencies. read more
