We came here all the way from Auburn for a specific item and their inventory was off. We asked for help from an employee name Steve O. And he was very on top of being there for us: he contacted different stores to make sure we were good and had the items we needed before heading there and he was probably the most helpful employee we have ever encountered at any Home Depot and we have gone to many. It was very much appreciated. Please give him a raise.

I had a great experience at Home Depot. It was a bad day. I'd been sent three times for the same items. CASSIE & KRISTINE, took care of everything for me. They helped me find what I was looking for and were super professiinal. They turnrd my bad day, into a good day. Theu made me feel imporysnt to thrm I'll shop here again, because these two woman really care about the customer. They cared about me.

This place is a hot mess with just poor customer service. No one communicates with what is on stock, or they know what's going on. No one wants to help, and no one around if you have questions. Bad experience in general.

The Ace Hardware houses the auto licensing as well as more standard offerings, a bakery section, some basic groceries, and a deli area. Some of the sections, such as a key making area, caught my attention as things to remember. Aisles were clearly labeled and the offerings matched their category. Some of the items were more seasonal specific, such as items to help with cooking a turkey for Thanksgiving, while others were more routine items. The bakery section included Pacific Northwest-based brands and freshly baked items. While tantalizing, the item(s) catching my eye for purchase today were the bumper stickers. I went with four in animal theme with fun sayings. The total with tax came to $14.00. My cash payment method was accepted and I opted to round up the change to go to an area Senior Thrift Store. Worker(s) I interacted with were friendly.

Front end is always efficient and professional. Younger staff have been eager to help load heavy items of dirt/bark/rock bags to car. Ace is the closest to a corner store or bodega in the bowl. Frozen pizza, chips, beer/wine/liquor, ice cream - they got you. Surprising selection on instant noods. Limited fresh selection. Great spice selection.

Part of it was the experience I received and the other part was the experience that I perceived. I think that it takes vulnerability to admin when one was wrong and that is what I am doing in this review. Upon reflection, I was not aware that one person had to man the counter for safety. Therefore, walking me or showing me where something was wasn't them being rude but them being safe. I also wasn't aware of the high crime rate around that strip mall. I was aware of lakecity crime but thought there were pockets which were around 125th. Having examined any of my biases I returned multiple times and received GREAT service. Mike, the GM walked me to get screws today and helped me find the perfect size. His son, helped me find paint and explained the primer process on a project, and the manager helped me select various tool options for another project. I truly support ACE stores and the hard working staff that work there. I hope that my review can offset my previous reviews and the other 1 star ones. Also, the store is very clean and it's always a great value.

Not wanting to say Goodbye, leads to not wanting to say Hello…read more Dunno, I would rather have a smile, greeting or a kind of welcome look in the eyes when I walk in. When I try to describe a major brand, I would rather see some general affinity or attempt at insight, rather than, 'that part of the house is that aisle'. When I get to the aisle and see the brand closest to description, dominating in product placement/ application uses & color- even if confused, I would expect some type of relation by Clerk prior. When I am sitting in that aisle for 15 min trying to confirm specs of brand, I would expect someone to check-in. When I get to the counter for purchase, I talk about the product some and inquire about the words on the front of label- 'If this doesn't work 100%- We refund 100'%= 'I don't know about that' (I assumed it may be just the company & not ACE'- but you are selling it and should have some comment other than more disassociation. At the counter with this attempt, I would expect you to be able to take $100 and not be directed to the grocery store for change. If you are so busy, then have some change/ if you are that dead, then help. To be fair, it was morning shift, but my Dentist has change in the morning and you are, well your main thing is sales and you are specifically a mercantile*. Lastly, I would rather not feel like I am putting out the Clerk when I ask at the end of a purchase- if this ACE gives Rewards points? 'You get benefits, then what is your number?' - ACE. [Again, there are different store cultures, but around 75% of us use them, it's always asked in my purchase history, it can save us a lot of $ depending and the irony- it's called "Loyalty", which I am beginning to interpret as a loose term for- "It's all on you man". I find it ironic I have reviewed 2 ACE's back x back with low stars, as in both my main memories are of friendly people and are part of the hood. I just think something sticks out more when it seems to go against perceived baseline. This was to be 3 sentences, if I even took time to write. I think different stores have different personalities, the Clerk likely does a good job and he was not mean. Mostly, I am thinking this was a major waste of time considering real life, but as long as I did, it's being posted for closure. I get along too much with employees in the city, have to pull self away in lieu of both getting back to the day. Today I didn't feel the need to say Goodbye, TK

I want to check out here," no one offered to help. Instead, the cashier at the first register told me I was being rude and then refused to check us out, turning what should have been a routine checkout into an embarrassing public scene that ultimately ended with a manager checking us out. My mother has been shopping at McLendon's in Woodinville for decades and was taken aback by the way we were treated. We had already spent most of the day buying gardening supplies and had loaded and unloaded heavy items before coming to McLendon's for a few more things. We ended up with two carts, including a heavy flat cart carrying three long bags of potting soil with a long shovel balanced across the top. It wasn't just heavy--it was awkward to maneuver, especially around tight corners. At checkout, I was directed to another register. I started to move the cart, but the cashier was facing a different aisle and said he couldn't scan the bags from where he was. It quickly became apparent that I would have to maneuver the cart around a very tight corner by myself while keeping the load balanced. The other option was to back up and come around another way, which would have required moving my mother and her cart. My mother has neuropathy in her feet and is very unsteady, so neither option was practical. The cashier did not offer to help move the cart, reposition himself, or assist with the bags in any way. I went back to the first register and said, "I want to check out here." She again told me I needed to move to the next register. I said, with admittedly some tired exasperation, "I don't want to. I want to check out here." After I said that, the woman at the first register very loudly told me I was being rude. I asked, "Are you going to check us out?" She simply stood there for a time without responding. My mother, who is 80 years old, had been standing there watching the entire interaction. She even said to her, "Isn't the customer always right?" By that point, the exchange had drawn the attention of another customer, who inserted himself into the situation and began insulting me. Finally, after being loudly lectured, the cashier said she would have to get her manager, waved her hands in the air, said, "I can't do this," and left to get him. The volume of her voice and her visible anger quickly drew the attention of several customers, turning what should have been a routine checkout into an embarrassing public scene. The manager ultimately came over and checked us out. He, in stark contrast to her, was very nice. He looked to see if my mom had any coupons on file, then asked another employee to help load the soil into my car. What disappointed me most was how quickly this escalated. If either employee had simply offered to help with the cart, the entire situation could have been resolved in less than a minute. We had two carts that were part of the same purchase--one my mother was pushing and one I was pushing. Instead of asking us to move both carts, it would have been far easier to let the customer behind us proceed to the next register. I understand that stores have procedures, but good customer service also means recognizing when a customer is dealing with heavy, awkward merchandise and offering assistance. I sincerely hope management will use this as an opportunity to remind employees that a calm, solution-oriented approach--and a willingness to help a customer with a heavy load--can make all the difference. 7-6-26 Edit: After taking some time to reflect on what happened, I've updated this review to clarify the sequence of events. My mother remains just as upset as I am about the way we were treated. She would welcome the opportunity to speak with management if they would like to discuss what happened. We would genuinely like to feel comfortable shopping at McLendon's again, but that will depend on how this situation is handled.
