We've been coming to The Hudson for many years, and it continues to be one of our absolute favorite restaurants. Every visit reminds us why we keep coming back. The food is consistently amazing no matter what you order. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared, and we've yet to try a dish we didn't enjoy. Our server this time was Kayla, and she was fantastic. Friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience perfect. That said, we've always had great service here. Every server we've had over the years has been professional, welcoming, and attentive, which really adds to the overall experience. Cute patio seating -- we were hoping to dine under the stars, but the LED lights kind of ruined the vibe. We had a reservation, but since we wanted patio seating, we had to wait an extra 30 minutes. The bar was pretty full, so we ended up just waiting in the car. The hostess wasn't super friendly, but the 30-minute estimate was actually spot on. The steak salad was delicious. A bit pricey for a salad, but the portion was massive and the flavors worked really well together -- actually satisfying, which is saying a lot for someone who rarely gets full from a salad! My brother has been here before and he insisted that we visit the Hudson. Though I was pushing him to try something new, he pushed my choices right back of going to another eatery. Let me tell you, that my brother forcing us to make this choice was well worth it!! This place has indoor and outdoor seating with amazing views of the red rock mountains of sedon around us. Stopped in here for dinner this evening. Our reservation was booked last minute and the only time slot left available was 8:30 - totally fine, no worries there. We arrived about 15 minutes early and were told our table wasn't ready, so we sat at the bar for a drink while we waited. The drinks were good, but very expensive to order a mixed cocktail. Again, we're on vacation, so no cause for complaint. Our table was ready fairly quickly, and we ordered appetizers immediately. The whipped feta app is delicious, and the smoked salmon burrata is a must! I must credit our server, Kayla. As she was explaining the entree menu, she placed our app order in the meantime and they came out to the table in less than 5 minutes. Service was incredibly fast. Our main entrees came out very quick as well. My mom ordered the half rack of ribs, which is really like a full rack- FYI, and said they were just okay. She loved the French fries and the coleslaw. I had the baked stuffed shrimp. It was pretty good, just too much sauce for me personally. I would've loved to have been able to taste the crab stuffed shrimp better with lighter / lesser amount of sauce, but the pesto fettuccine which came alongside was phenomenal. My dad ordered the salmon, which he said was really good. My parents and I both rated this restaurant A- / B+. We in a fairly good meal experience, however, because our reservation began at 8:30, and they close at 9, you could tell they were trying to push us out. No one offered us a dessert menu, and you could tell they were itching to clear off all the tables and clear out all the guests. I visited here last Monday. The Hudson was one of the highlights of our trip to Sedona. Every dish we ordered was delicious. The Street Corn & Fresh Mozzarella Bruschetta was fresh and flavorful, and the Prime Ribeye was cooked perfectly. The Corn Chowder was the standout for me--it was rich, comforting, and absolutely delicious. The service was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout the meal. This is easily one of the best American restaurants I've visited in the U.S. Tip: Try to visit before sunset and request an outdoor table. I decided to eat here for the first time and my water didn't taste filtered and my corn chowder tasted like a spicy low-quality chili. Also the service is very slow Our waitress was so slow and inconsiderate that I had to go ask for the check cuz she hardly checked on us. Then when I wanted to silently and politely leave, she got in my face and became confrontational when she asked why I didn't tip. I've never had someone be so aggressive as to ask why I didn't tip. THEY ARE NOT DOG FRIENDLY. If you bring a dog they'll allow you to sit at the entrance but they will not allow you to sit on the patio with the view. Total bummer. They were kind to my dog though and filled her water bowl. I just can't get over the prices. I've eaten here in the past and loved it so much I wanted to come back today. Great meal to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The first and only other time we've been to The Hudson was 9 years ago in October of 2016. It was a great meal then and tonight's meal did not disappoint. We had a reservation so we were seated right away. We got a table with an amazing view of the rock formations - just like last time. Our server was by our table within a few minutes of being seated. She congratulated us on our anniversary, then told us about the nightly special. We ordered cocktails and the Calamari small plate. The cocktails came first and were quite good and refreshing. The Calamari followed and it too was tasty. I will say that my recollection of it from 9 years ago was a bit different. I don't recall bean sprouts as part of the vegetables served with the Calamari. But I could be off on that. Still a decent small plate item. Soon after, we placed our meal order. We shared Bruschetta. It was decent. Would have preferred the tomatoes to have been riper but it was still good. For dinner, we did a plate split ($7 charge) with the 8oz Prime Beef Filet, medium rare, served with mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. The filet and potatoes had some garlic herb compound butter on them - real good. The vegetables were roasted and seasoned and were also excellent. We walked in on a Friday night without a reservation and, as expected, most of the tables were already booked. Thankfully, the bar still had open seating, so we were able to grab a spot right away. The service was pleasant from the start, and everything came out quickly after we ordered. The prosecco was crisp and nicely bubbly. My man sampled a few beers before deciding on a Spicy Mango Margarita, which ended up being a great choice. They just didn't add a rim of salt/ tajin for the finisher. We came in a late August noonish for lunch, loved the amazing view outdoors and decided to dine outside. Not the best decision since the patio umbrella was only able to cover two out of three of us. The one in sun was not very comfortable. The food is amazing, loved the tuna poke tower, the avocado and sauce were perfectly balanced with unseasoned rice. Had a reservation for 3:15pm and checked in right on time. The host was nice and let us know the table was being cleaned. We were then quickly seated, and the view was great. However, we waited over 20 minutes for a server to even greet our table. Servers walked by us during this entire time, making eye contact with us, and I guess no one wondered why we still had menus and no food? More tables got sat and served before we did. First, there's no question they serve good food. The description mentioned that this will be an American-fare type restaurant, we were pleased to see the variety of foods on the menu. The pork chops were cooked to perfection, the butternut squash casserole was quite tasty, the calamari with orange sauce was tender. And yes, the staff is well trained. We had a very attentive and accommodating server. She gladly served our salad on two separate plates after we mentioned that we're sharing. And when we told her we weren't too thrilled with one of the special cocktails, she gladly took it away and substituted a wine that was more suitable. And yes, the view at the patio was nice...not as breathtaking as one would expect since they bragged about the view, but it was nice. So why the 4 stars? In the years we've dined in many restaurants here and abroad, we've NEVER had a restaurant charge 3% for using credit cards. This is a first, and quite unexpected. It's a good thing I had enough cash on me, because I refuse to pay that charge. And....Gordon Ramsey's interior designer would have a field day with this. Luckily I watched a couple YouTube videos that mentioned this place as one of the best places to eat at in Sedona. It was one of the best meals I have ever had! We booked a reservation over a month ahead of time but there were open tables available when we ate our meal on a weekday from 3-5 pm. Wow, what a great dining experience in Sedona! We arrived a bit early for our reservation and had to wait a bit to be seated, because this place was HOPPING, even on a weeknight. Our group was seated outdoors on the lovely patio. It was quite chilly but there were a bunch of high-powered heat lamps on the patio, so we were toasty warm. We enjoyed a round of cocktails followed by some good wine at dinner. Our server was great all night. For appetizers we shared several types of bruschetta (I loved the Brie and apples version!), along with beer battered calamari. I chose the baked stuffed shrimp as my entree, which was outstanding.
