I have a deep love of Morro Bay and Los Osos so I tr and visit every few years. I enjoy the laid back atmosphere and people in the area. Well I discovered a great breakfast /coffee spot on my last trip. We just wanted a quick breakfast and cup of coffee. Well the service was a little slow, there was only one person working and she was taking orders as well as making the coffee and food. This is not her fault and i am not critiquing the staff; there should have been at least 2 people there. The coffee was strong and they had plant milk options and a variety of breakfast options. Still love their 32 ounce iced mocha. However, ordered a cookie to go with it the other day. What an awful awful cookie. It was so dry and had no taste. And I probably paid like five dollars for it!! 1st visit and let's just begin with the HORRIBLE entrance to this establishment, that hairpin sharp right turn is definitely going to be a collision with the order kiosk at some point. I order a large smith tea iced, but there was no explanation on the teas available at the kiosk. When I ordered the girl asked 16 oz or 32 oz, I'm pretty sure large means 32 oz, but maybe she wasn't listening bc they were busy giggling amongst employees. The tea was served with a small bean and the female employee giggled as she handed the tea. Unaware of what that bean was I was a bit skeptical. But on the bright side I discovered it was a coffee bean that was quite tasty. The tea on the other hand was rather bland and tasted over brewed. Compared to other coffee places and even McDonald's tea it was way over priced. The employees are rather young and seemed to be giggling too much among each other while serving drinks. Maybe I will give this place another chance in a few months. Ok I returned and gave them a 2nd chance!! Had a Mexi- Mocha and it was great!! Also ordered a small bag of the expression beans very delicious. The evening crew was very nice and personable. Sat in the window and talked for a while!! read more

I swung through the drive through and ordered a coffee and a bagel breakfast sandwich. The coffee is okay, but the sandwich is burning hot on the outside and refrigerator cold and damp in the middle. They told me they come premade, so I would not recommend food from here - you can do better for a quick breakfast. read more

I have been twice and both times they got my order wrong. First time they blew making a cup of tea, but it was the first day they were open. Today, a month later, they gave me the order for the car behind me (Bob) and there was a blueberry muffin in the bag even though it said chocolate chip on the label. The server was listed as Rylee M. I started coming here way too often a few months back and would buy 5 or more drinks at a time. Was always excited to treat people I knew and try different things. Sadly I will never go back. I don't think I've ever had someone be so rude. Making fun of customers right in front of them thinking we can't hear. I was shocked. First time there after they opened today. Ordered a green tea smoothie, hazelnut caramel latte, and two breakfast sandwiches. The drinks were great. A large is a really big 33oz large, lol. The bagel french toast was too hard. My bf said it was inedible. For the price I spent, 24 bucks and tip 30 bucks total, I don't think so. Mcdonalds breakfast sandwiches are still softer. I want to give it a second chance though. The drive through is convenient. I would like a new breakfast bagel sandwich, but not so toasted. read more

The employees were nice, but a little undertrained. Maybe... I had made an addition to my latte and it really confused them. Anyway, the coffee just wasn't good. The espresso tasted so bad. We ended up throwing out our drinks. Also, I had asked for a chocolate milk for my 3 year old and they used store bought chocolate milk and poured into a cup and charged a high amount for it. With exceptional coffee places here that actually make an effort in your orders, I think this place might not do well. It's nice to have a drive through coffee option, but not when it tastes like gas station coffee. read more

I visited the Morro Bay location today. Loved it! I ordered a Java Chip with one Shot of coffee. My husband got a cold brew with stevia and no sugar chocolate any cinnamon on top. Excellent. Tried this new coffee drive-through for the first time today. As noted by other reviewers, prices were very high. But the big issue was that a 20% tip was added to our bill without our knowledge. The total charge stated by the server didn't match the charge we saw later on our credit card (it was 20% more). We had already put a cash tip in the tip jar - our preferred way of tipping. Morro Bay experienced a power outage while my husband and I were in town. Not realizing it was city wide and not just our hotel room, we drove around looking for coffee wherever we saw lights on. Everywhere we stopped (including our hotel lobby at the INN AT MORRO BAY) we got a rude flustered response --however the humans (Jennifer and Ally) at human bean were so cool calm and collected and nice! They let us know they had experienced an outage and were in the process of rebooting. We waited for two delicious coffees and went on our way! We were ready to drive right back home, but they totally recharged us with their positive attitude! read more

Okay so I'm not huge on writing reviews of places but i've already yelped about the Atascadero location which I got to try out a few times before the morro bay one opened and now here I am reviewing this one because I'm still honestly so impressed! The drinks are great! My go to is now the iced snowy mocha with added raspberry syrup and chocolate drizzle in the cup. But I've also had their Irish cream and pumpkin granitas which are fab. The service is always excellent! The staff at both locations are on the younger side which can really be hit or miss but these kids have got the customer service down! They're super sweet and friendly and the service is always quick. Whoever is doing the hiring and training for these central coast locations knows what their doing! Cheers! read more

First impressions of the Morro Bay HumanBean are not favorable. First, good luck negotiating the entrance to the order window. It's a literal hair pin turn off of Morro Bay Blvd. The server at the window said they receive at least 2-3 complaints a day. Who on the Morro Bay Planning Commission thought that was a good idea. Staff was very pleasant but we found ourselves paying high prices for a mediocre, at best, product. The Chai Tea Latte, compared to others in the area, was bland and served piping hot - Chai Tea Lattes are generally served warm and not as hot as hot tea. Any quality establishment knows this. We were handed steaming cups too hot to hold and had to request a cup holder. The drinks were not cool enough to drink until we got back to San Luis Obispo. On top of everything else, prices are about a dollar more than Starbucks for similar, and better, product. Sorry HumanBean, we had high hopes. You lost us after the first visit. read more
