Food is ok. We were seated right away and they were nice enough sit us out of the way with our 2 kids. The service became horrible right after that. Over 7 minutes to get a water and an iced tea (the tea was not drinkable). After our order was taken we did not see out waitress for 30 minutes. Good thing we didn't need anything extra. I would have liked to get a water to replace my ice tea but I didn't see her until we were ready for the check. My advice would be to keep this place in mind for the live music or the apperantly bad drinks and not to think of it as a resturant. read more

One of the worst and most unprofessional establishments I have ever been to. It began at the door, the bouncer took one look at my ID and saw it was from CT and immediately said "nope, not getting in with that." Which is comical because I am more than of age. After a friend jumped in to say that is obviously ridiculous, he started to quiz her on my ID demographics. I should have walked away from there but I decided to give it a chance since friends wanted to go in. Then, I had to pay a COVER fee? Unreal. The bar downstairs had a credit card "minimum" of $20 (which I believe to be ridiculous.) So a friend and I agreed to buy rounds. When we went upstairs it was my turn to purchase drinks. I ask for 2 coronas and to close out my card. The bartender then told me it was a $30 minimum... So I had to continue to purchase drinks I did not even want, only to be able to reach the amount this bartender arbitrarily made up to be able to receive my credit card back. The bar became so overly crowded, exceeding the maximum capacity, therefore putting everyone inside at risk. I wanted to leave, so I asked the woman bartender upstairs to close out my card. She asked my last name and then walked away. She then proceeded to serve drinks to the entire bar in her section, repeatedly skipping over me. I gave her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she had forgotten because it was so overcrowded, so I kindly reminded her that I needed to close out my card and she so rudely said "it's busy. you'll have to wait." Well wait I did.... 35 minutes total. To CLOSE OUT MY CARD. 35 minutes. It doesn't end there. The next morning I opened my online banking and see that I was not only charged for my purchase at the bar, ($30, as I did not leave a tip for that service/treatment), but also another $65 charge on top of that. I called the bar and was told "someone must've swiped my card for someone else's tab"... The manager had been helpful with this matter over the phone. I do not recommend going to this restaurant/ bar unless you would like to be degraded at the door, charged unruly amounts and be treated poorly by staff. read more

Stopped by on a friday night with my elderly father and the service was exceptional. Drinks were great and food was even better- (Way too cheap for its worth) Peachy sangria was delicious. Got the chicken tacos and they were to die for, Thank you to the Irish hostess who made sure my father and I sat in the best spot due to his bad hip. Never go to this place when you are out at night experiencing the night life in Long Beach. Bouncers could not be more rude and don't even respect the people that are locals and live in Long Beach. The locale is classic beach town with a splash of urban to make it feel more fast paced. The dance floor had ample room and the DJ clearly put in his fair share of effort. The beer selection was quite nice (nothing says autumn like a pumpkin beer) and the atmosphere was that of a place where locals make good memories. read more

Had tuna roll as an app (delicious), magi tacos as a main (amazing) hubby got sweet potato fries on side which he loved ( they were super crispy and not too greasy).. I have lived in Long Beach for more than 4 years and frequently visit The Inn for drinks and occasionally for a meal. I have developed a good rapport with most of the bartenders, and the live music is usually better then other options in town, which are the main reasons for choosing The Inn over other spots. However, I was recently turned away on a Saturday night for wearing "ripped" jeans, which is a laughable offense for a bar like The Inn. Not only did the doorman and manager allow 3 girls in front of me walk right in with ripped jeans, but I have also been let in wearing flip flops, bathing suits, tank tops, and other summer clothing numerous times in the past. The doorman even had the nerve to allow a guy wearing work boots in after me because the boots were "in good condition." This place needs to stop pretending that it is an upscale NYC club before it loses more of its loyal clientele. The party of 20 people I was with last night, many of whom are LB locals, will never visit your establishment again. read more

We just got back from this bar for a bachelorette party and this place is literally the worst most juvenile place we had ever been too. It was overcrowded, overpriced and none of the staff or bouncers seemed to care and did nothing that people were throwing drinks purposely on other people or simply not moving in the massive crowd and scraming obsenities, even though they saw it with their own eyes. This place is definitely in violation of some sort of code for the amount of people there. When we asked to talk to a manager, the outside bouncer was INCREDIBLE RUDE and said he didn't know anything or anyone because he was outside.....yet he worked there. Absolutely NEVER coming back here or referring anyone to come here. There was also an issue with the dj booth breaking half way through the set and the band was almost two hours late. read more

This review is solely for the food and not the nightlife at The Inn. Two of my friends and I went to The Inn this past Sunday night and asked for a table for 3. They sat us in the front on the top at a two person table where there were clearly tables available outside for 3-4 people that were not being occupied. We just decided to order a bunch of appetizers. Shrimp Cocktail, Chicken Quesadillas, Mozzarella Sticks, Muscles, and Calamari. The food was actually pretty good, our favorite were the Muscles in the white wine sauce and the bread that comes with it tasted awesome with the sauce. The only downside to everything was just how there was no room on the table for a lot of the appetizers since we were seated at a 2 person table; that's my only complaint, however I will probably return here in the future! read more

Went this weekend for happy hour. They were very accommodating of our stroller and we promptly sat at a table outside for some great people watching! Had a good dos equis special for 3.50 each or something, had the jerk wings (incredibly overcooked and dry with pretty bad canned jerk sauce, i would try the regular buffalo next time), wife had the mozz sticks which were pretty good. Overall, not a bad place, I wouldn't go for the food obviously, but the waitress was great, very friendly, prompt and attentive as was the bus boy. The only reason I frequent this place is for the "Seafood Thursdays". They have $.99 oysters, clams shrimp, and they also have $5.99 mussel bowls, and clam bowls. Been visiting friends in Long Beach for years and have always gone to the Inn for a night out with friends. Tonight (in March) the bouncer tried charging me extra because I didn't live in Long Beach. This has never happened before, even in the summer! A friend in my group has NJ drivers license and was not told this. The bouncer was trying to pocket extra cash which was really sketchy. This caused me and my group to not spend our money here and as a result will not come to again. Terrible service from the bouncer and I advise potential customers to take their business elsewhere and avoid. read more

My Sister and I ended up at the Inn on July 13th for lunch. We were the only ones there but attributed that to the fact that it was an odd time, way to late for lunch, way to early for dinner. The space was charming and you could tell that it would be a great night spot. I had the crab cakes and they were wonderful and my sister had a salad that was also delicious. We sat out on the little patio and watched the local scene. All in all we thought it was a great place. Only giving 4 stars as the waitress, seemed new and very young, was pretty slow for the fact that we were the only ones there!! I would recommend and would return if I'm in the area again. read more

I went there as a 24 year old with my 21 year old cousin. She showed her New York ID first and got in. I showed my ID second and got refused because I had an out of state ID. Since the bouncer's brain was a soupy mess, I had to suffer the consequences. He has one job, to distinguish a real ID from a fake one, and wasn't able to do that. As the bouncer turned away business from an of age person with a real ID that happened to be out of state, my 21 year old cousin noticed a bunch of underage people she recognized drinking because he let them in. My only hope for this place is they get raided and the bouncer outted for his lack of ability to do his simple a$$ job. Place is a dump. (I almost went back with my passport to prove to the bouncer how terrible of a job he was doing at his job. But decided not to waste my time and energy. Karma will get to them!) read more

Amazing fresh spin on bar food! I personally love the buffalo calamari and ahi tuna appetizers. The food is fresh, never frozen-and comes out FAST (even on their famous "Taco Tuesday") You need to check them out. There's something fun to do every night of the week (even in a blizzard they are open to serve the people of LB!) Staff is friendly and always accommodating offering plenty of outdoor seating or upstairs! I had a graduation party there and the servers/staff communicated well with me to make sure food and drink service was done well. They even let me come early to decorate and helped keep my event a private affair with wrist bracelets and security. I can't say enough about The Inn, if you can't stay and hang they do to go orders so you can sample their amazing food from your comfy couch too! DO IT!!! read more

I have always enjoyed my time at The Inn but I was very upset about a situation that happened last night. A band I love, The Benjamins, was scheduled to play at The Inn at 11 pm. I arrived at 11:06 and was told that there was a $25 cover because of another act that was running late. I explained I was there to see The Benjamins and was told to go somewhere else and come back in 35-45 minutes if I didn't want to pay the higher cover. I think if there is an error in timing because of an issue at The Inn I should not be responsible for paying the higher amount. I had no interest in seeing the other act. The bouncer, an older man, was very rude... and I told him so and he smugly said you'll obviously come back. So, we left, bought drinks somewhere else and returned 45 minutes later. This time, they let us in for $10 which was still higher than the $5 cover if you are a Long Beach resident, because the previous act was STILL on. Again, I should not be penalized for an issue in timing. I showed up on time for something that was advertised. The Benjamins are the only reason to go to The Inn. I don't plan to spend my money at a place where I am belittled by a bouncer. read more

I came here a few weeks ago for an engagement party. Because I was the designated driver, I was planning not to drink. I was told that in order to even get access to the party, I had to pay for a $35 open bar. Even after explaining that I was not going to be drinking because I was driving, the manager told me that it didn't matter and everyone had to pay and I should just pay and not drink. It seems like pretty poor form to force DD's to pay for an open bar when they're not going to be drinking. It would be interesting to see the legal liability here if someone who told the bar that they were going to be the designated driver was forced to pay for an open bar, ended up drinking because they paid for it, and then God forbid got into a serious car accident. It looks like common sense does not prevail here. read more

Yesterday I wanted some chicken, but usually I will order some beef as well. I enjoy eating at the inn on Tuesdays rather then the cabana because of the wait. After spending the day at the beach, we came across this establishment. Looked nice enough, so we walked up. We told the hostess we wanted to sit in the bar and she said great. So far so good. We found a cocktail table a few feet from the bar, put our stuff down, and proceeded to order. That was when things went downhill. The bartender was a elderly woman with the largest stick up her rear I have come across in some time. One of those people whose attitude changes the second you order water. Seriously, we biked 25 miles earlier in the day, and then sat on the beach for several hours. Give me my damn water without the the attitude. We then ordered some food and sat down. Well that was about all that grandma could take, and she started yelling at the hostess that we where sitting at a table and she was closing us out....ok, calm down. This might be the only place I have ever been where you need to be seated in the bar area. I got it. Anyway, the food was average and the table service sucked, but I didn't dare get up and walk 4 feet to the nearly empty bar to get a beer. Oh well, on to the next place. read more

Went there with a friend for some drinks and to watch a ballgame... The bartender was ok but the people who work their and hang their on their days off are rude and cliquey!!! They stop serving food at ten but a band comes in and they serve drinks til 4!!! Overall rude behavior from the wait staff also very unfriendly!!! It was ten minutes to ten and this little girl with glasses who works their said no more food even though I was told yes by bar!!! I recommend all the other places in long beach not this one!!! A party of six for lunch on New Year's Day was delicious. The waitress provided great service and very helpful. I have celiac disease and get violently ill from any gluten and explained that even cross contamination was harmful. She was very aware and so was the chef because one of the waitresses there had it and he would make anything possible in a separate pan. He even made sweet potato fries in a separate pan with fresh oil and everything was delicious. I was so grateful to find a nearby place that knew what not to do and everyone else enjoyed there food too. We all enjoyed our afternoon watching football, eating good food and of course drinks. read more

I have frequented the Inn on three separate occasions and I loved each and every experience. Taco Tuesday....great tacos at one dollar a piece with beer specials. I choose craft beer instead. Great choices at reasonable prices. The staff were friendly and the service was great! I went back this Saturday and the special was buy one get one free appetizers. We tried calamari, Cajun scallops, buffalo shrimp and steak quesadilla. Every dish delicious!!! The staff was again friendly the service was great!!! Next stop Sunday brunch...many great and reasonably priced choices! I ordered Steak and Eggs with a plate of fruit. Steak was juicy and flavorful...the eggs perfect, the fruit plentiful melon and strawberries. Everything delicious and $3 delicious drinks as well. I would recommend highly!!! The night life is a bit much for me but for dining it is laid back, inexpensive, and the quality and quantity is great....along with friendly service every time! Compared to my visit to The Inn a few days ago, this was abysmal. We were a party of 4. We ordered 2 appetizers, however, the waitress only ordered 1 and had to fix it later. If this were the only problem, that would be okay. Two of us ordered the steak, which was excellent albeit small (they need an 18 oz or larger steak). The other 2 orders did not go so well. The first order came out wrong entirely and had to be re-made. The second NEVER came out. After we brought this to the staff attention, they said it was coming. The steak orders were completely eaten when the re-made meal came out. The last meal STILL did not come out. After waiting an absurd amount of time, the last meal FINALLY came out. The food was good but the service here was awful. They did have live music which was decent, but not great. They just barely mustered 2 stars in my book. The waitress was moderately cute but not the sharpest tool in the shed. read more
