We had received a nice review from a friend about this place so we headed up to Culver City to see the selection and get some costs. We were greeted with a staff member who seemed to be in a hurry and said he was not interested in talking to us unless we had at least a budget of $40,000. We were appalled considering we drove an hour to see the place and he had not even seen our plans or 150 sq. foot size kitchen (very small). We told him about some competitive quotes and what's the reason for the large cost difference and he said. "you wouldn't understand and just go with your other quotes". So we left and happily took our business elsewhere. We ended up getting our cabinets from cliqstudios.com for $5,000. The quality, material, thickness etc was the same and we are extremely happy. We had a very small kitchen, everything was cramped and needed to do something to make the space more functional. One day we heard on the radio about The Kitchen Store in Culver City and decided to visit them. The first designer we saw, Ann Higginson, was very pleasant and started to work immediately on the planning of our new kitchen. After discussing design options Ann's suggestion to have the kitchen open into the dinning and family room area was an excellent idea that launched the project. We elected to go with Decora Cabinets, the quality of the finished product looked beautiful. The installer assigned to us William Fratt ( Bill) is an excellent craftsman and the installation was done to perfection. We choose a Cambria Counter Top installed by Sawald which also looks very beautiful. My husband ordered custom made kitchen cabinets from Jim, whom I am told has a stellar reputation. We were looking forward to our kitchen cabinets from The Kitchen Store because we wanted to work with a local business and with reassurances from Jim, my husband felt he was going to be well taken care of. Unfortunately, when the cabinets and butcher clock counter arrived, they were not what he ordered. When my husband contacted Jim to let him know, Jim made him feel like my husband was the one who had made the mistake, even though my husband had shown a picture to Jim of the kitchen cabinets and butcher block he wanted and Jim assured him it was possible and even in the showroom, they show that it is indeed possible. I am simply appalled that a store would make a customer feel they are in the wrong and not fix their mistakes. At this point since no responsibility has been claimed by The Kitchen Store, I am hoping the managers and owners of The Kitchen Store read this and feel compelled to rectify the mistakes and give us the kitchen cabinets and butcher block we paid for and install them. With this kind of customer service, I wish we went to Ikea and ordered from there. It would have been a lot cheaper. Here are the things that need to be fixed with our order: 1. There is no lip to the butcher block countertops. There is a lip at the side of one butcher block, but no lip on the front. When my husband called to ask Jim what happened, Jim said it is standard to have no lip on the front of the butcher block counter. If it is standard to have no lip, then why is there at lip at every kitchen counter I have seen in my lifetime? With no lip, the butcher block counter is much harder to clean, the dirt and water can go inside the cabinets and run down the cabinets, which over time, will ruin the cabinets. Please The Kitchen Store, give us a lip to our butcher block counter! It is simply wrong to give us a butcher block countertop that runs flush with the cabinets. Wrong. 2. The cabinets have a distinctive line around the top of the cabinets. My husband asked for no line and in the photo he brought in of the cabinets, there is no line. When the cabinets arrived and he contacted Jim of this error, Jim said, they don't make those kind of cabinets. Well, if you don't, then why did you tell my husband he can have the exact cabinets from the picture? And why do you have those cabinets in your showroom? Renovating is a time consuming and costly endeavor and this is our first home together. We just want the butcher block countertop and kitchen cabinets we ordered and no longer want to live with one that we did not order. read more

I have dealt with the kitchen Store twice, once in 2008 when we did a bathroom remodel and again in 2013 for a full kitchen remodel. Jim De Witt was our rep from the kitchen store, he was professional and helpful both times, The reason for the review was for the follow up 6 yrs later on the bathroom remodel. Many of the "faces" started to peel, contacted Jim and he asked for pix's of the defect. He saw the defects and ordered replacements for all drawers and doors, no questions asked. Now THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!! many friends go to cheaper places, but don't get the customer service I did. I highly recommended the Kitchen store !!!! I decided to remodel my kitchen. As part of the remodeling I also removed the wall between my kitchen and dining room making it one large room. I went to The Kitchen Store to get assistance with the layout of my new kitchen as well as looking for kitchen cabinets. Ann Higginson assisted me. Ann was a fantastic help. She took my basic ideas and enhanced them so I ended up with a very stylish and modern kitchen. Ann gave me ideas on the type of appliances, kitchen sink and counter tops to use as well as the type and style of kitchen cabinets. Ann didn't try to oversell me or push any product on me. The final result of her work has been excellent. People who see my kitchen are impressed. I couldn't have done this without Ann's help. I remodeled my kitchen 15 years ago with Kitchen Store and recently decided I wanted handles on my cabinets and drawers as the original ones had no handles. I assumed I'd need to reface them and returned to look at the styles. Jim Dewitt told me I could keep my door and drawer fronts and have my handyman install the handles, which I got for only $200 at Kitchen Store. Jim saved me lots of time and money. He also discouraged me from changing my countertops as my current ones are fine. I very much appreciated Jim's advice and his suggestion for the handles, which look great! Do not go there without an appointment. They are not equipped to consult without a pre scheduled appointment. I walked in on a Saturday, not knowing and they had no time for me. I worked during the weekdays, as most, but I expected better service. I walked out very upset. I suggest they mention that on their website, "no walk-ins", appointments only. I had a very good experience remodeling my kitchen and bathrooms with the help of Kenny Legaux at the Culver City Kitchen Store. This was my first time doing a project like this, so I had many questions and uncertainties. First, choosing the materials, styles, colors, etc. was aided by repeated visits to their large showroom. They were also able to paint my cabinets a custom color that exactly matched my chosen counter-top. I had a good idea of the layout I wanted (which I think is necessary to avoid using an architect) and the Kitchen Store's layout tool helped me visualize and validate the details. The Kitchen Store's material arrived exactly on time and every component was delivered the first time. Once you see all the parts, it is kind of amazing. The store recommended a general contractor named Kevin Lynch who covered everything (except the counter-tops) and was extremely reliable and professional. The work took about 50% longer than the original estimates but there were no unexpected or unreasonable cost overruns. Finally, I had a few unusual requests for extra material along the way that Kenny gladly fulfilled. In the end, everything turned out just the way I hoped and within my budget. read more

When we bought our condo, we knew the small kitchen needed a 100% makeover. Through word of mouth and radio spots, we settled on The Kitchen Store. Upon entering the building, and by nothing less than pure luck, we were directed to designer Ana Del Valle. It was an immediate "click". Ana is SMART. She has a passion for cooking and for kitchens. She is highly skilled in peeling back the layers of your situation and is quick on the uptake when it comes to nuance. In other words: we could communicate! From the moment we walked in, all the way to the "reveal", Ana was on top of the situation. Owing to her love of cooking and her obvious spatial intelligence, she was able to maximize the utility of our small kitchen space and do it with class in terms of integrating the various elements to create a magic mix. Bottom line: Ana created a gem. Speaking of "pure luck", Ana introduced us to contractor Mitra Khorramian of Green Planet Building. Call it intuition or whatever, but we "knew" we had the right team. We have purchased two bathroom cabinets, along with stone. The first one went OK. We ordered from a guy named Diego, and purchased the stone from their in-house guy Sawaed. Horrible experience. For the price we paid, we really should have received what we paid for. At the very least, drawers should be able to open. Zero quality control, could not be any more upset. Sawaed has been dodging us for several months now....since we ordered a square sink with the stone not having a beveled edge. I guess we will live with a round sink & beveled edge now. We wanted our bathrooms to match....guess that just simply won't happen. Tired of playing games and phone tag. Save your money and sanity and go somewhere else. It seems there is very little respect for women, I am taking over now because my wife feels very disrespected. Life should be easier, avoid the Kitchen Store. read more

Chuck Sacco at The Kitchen Store made it easy and gave us the courage to move forward with our kitchen remodel. When we first arrived at The Kitchen Store, we had already spent three months exploring and eliminating other options. What we found at The Kitchen Store were the most cabinet brand choices as compared to the other stores we had visited - they offer and display many major brands in their showroom. In addition, we took advantage of their relationship with EnerBank USA wherein we were able to finance our purchase for 12 months, interest free. My husband, John, & I had engaged Ana Del Valle of the The Kitchen Store to design our new kitchen. She did an incredible job completely transforming an old fifties kitchen into the Euro modern kitchen of our dreams. At her suggestion and design vision we knocked out two walls which created a much more open look taking advantage of our city lights view ! We'd never thought that was possible structurally but a structural engineer approved Ana's idea and we were easily able to obtain city permits . We purchased Solera cabinetry from Canada at Ana's suggestion and are so pleased! We trusted Ana with every detail from sink/faucet selection to cabinet door handles. Also took her suggestions regarding incorporating some non transparent glass cabinet doors and a garage door cabinet over our Pasquini espresso machine. Even moved the location of the dishwasher and refrigerator at her suggestion-- way more efficient for daily use !All of Ana's ideas translated perfectly into functional reality! So it was a natural decision that when it came time to remodel our guest bathroom, we asked Ana to do so! We are exceptionally pleased with the end result -- a contemporary bath in a small space that is as aesthetically beautiful as it is functional -- Ana added a floating vanity for added storage with a feeling of spaciousness and a stone wall with a geode like sparkle for a bit of "bling" in a totally spa like soothing space. Stone floors with small octagonal surfaces in a very pale greenish/beige hue ( in the floor and on the shower floor) and glass tiles in a glacier blue color with a subtle glittery grout on one shower wall complement the look. The other shower wall was of a smooth stone. Ana also added a seat in a corner of the shower-- so nice and practical too! Ana even helped us select the right Toto toilet and shower fixtures as well as our sink. She went with us to the showroom and guided our choices-- even went to the shower door show room to help us select doors and hardware! We are so very pleased with our new bathroom and truly owe it to Ana and The Kitchen Store for translating our need to make a small space more spacious, modern, aesthetically perfect, and exceptionally functional. Sharron was a phenomenal designer/salesperson to work with, from refining our original design and throughout the order and delivery process. She updated us regularly which was especially important since our house was 2 hours away from LA. Everything went smoothly, which could've been an expensive delay if our contractor had to sit on his hands while waiting to install cabinets. We priced LA area cabinets and The Kitchen Store was very competitive; a good friend who'd recently built a new home recommended them to us and we are extremely pleased beyond expectations. If you're like us and originally wanted Ikea cabinetry (stylish and inexpensive) but can no longer depend on Ikea because of shipping delays from Europe due to COVID, this is a no brainer. You will pay more but you will get more, like actual wood boxes (Kitchen Craft) and customer service that isn't a rabbit hole of no answers. The cabinets were made in North America which was also reassuring since we could get a clear timeline of when they were being painted for us to when they were on the truck. Found The Kitchen Store through a friend's recommendation - an interior designer. I met with one of their designers, Chuck Sacco, to meet and discuss plans for my kitchen and laundry room remodel. Chuck was extremely helpful in suggesting cabinet and hardware options to stay within my budget at our first meeting, and provided a great rendering based on my initial worksheet from their website. Once he came to see the actual kitchen and do real measurements, it got even better. He was able to help me solve problems with the floor plan and suggest door and window moves that improved the final design immeasurably. I ended up with great looking semi-custom cabinets at a reasonable price, and Chuck gave me suggestions and feedback on the rest of the design ideas I had, even though I chose to buy my countertops and flooring from other sources, and used my own contractor to install everything. At no point did I feel pressured to buy more than I had planned to. I am thrilled with the results!! read more

I met Dan, co- owner of the Kitchen Store, at a local community leadership class we were both taking together. Cooincidentally, I needed new cabinets (about 35 of them) for a large breakfast buffet area in the lobby of the hotel I manage at manage at LAX. I bid this job out to three vendors and the Kitchen Store was one of them. They were excellnet from start to finish. They worked with me on my budget, they came in person to the hotel a few times with samples of laminat finishes and chrome fixtures so we could get the right look I wanted. Placed the order and then scheduled the installl of the new cabinets and refacing of existing cabinet frames around my business needs. All went as planned and the new cabinets and reface looks awesome!! We did a cherry zebra wood pattern with a modern curved chrome handles. Dan and John and the crew were a pleasure to work with. Honest, perfectionists, and worked very clean over the two day install/reface. I am planning on doing a little facelift to my ome kitchen and will be using the Kitchen Store. When she was available, I was so impressed by her knowledge of construction, her vast experience working in the field of design, and her keen analysis of what needed to be done to create my dream kitchen. She came to our home, measured to perfection, created a design that was absolutely beautiful, shopped with us at the tile store, and placed herself at times right in the middle of the construction to sort out all of the kinks. We had our bathrooms and kitchen remodeled over 10 years ago and most of them all look great, with the exception of the kitchen doors under the sink, wood is chipping away. But when we had a problem with our trash compartments, you sent out new insides and saved the cabinet for us. Now our sliders on pull out shelf is bent and needs replacing, cannot pull out or in, and waiting to hear if you will send us new gliders 22". read more
