What an absolutely fantastic little restaurant on the edge of Orleans. I've heard so many good things about the restaurant and after my first visit I'm hooked! We ordered two orders of fish tacos, a lobster roll, fries and onion rings for the family. I myself had the fish tacos which were absolutely outstanding! Definitely one of my favorite restaurants on Cape Cod. The onion rings and french fries were wonderful as well. Really nice to stop by after a long day out at the beach or doing whatever else. Also thank you to the server who complimented my Rocket Power shirt...that was pretty cool lol. My family enjoyed this place so much we went two days in a row! I've driven past many times and have wanted to try it and am glad I finally did. Never would I have guessed there's such a large patio hidden from the busy street on which the restaurant is located. Love the menu - had the veggie tacos both times but also picked off my husband's and kids' plates. The chicken fingers are amazing - perfectly cooked chicken with just the right amount of batter. Loved the avocado bacon hotdog, fries, and onion rings too. Atmosphere gets an unexpected two thumbs up, food is great, price is right, and friendly, speedy service. The knack is a great place and is beloved by locals here on cape, and tourists who come to visit. The food never disappoints, and the milkshakes are always amazing. My family's favorites and the chicken sandwich, the ring burger, the butchers burger, and the lobster rolls. We also enjoy the Oreo milkshakes and the twist milkshakes. My only complaints would be that given the portion of food you get, the food is very expensive. I'm often still hungry after I finish. Also, most of the staff is pleasant, especially whatever young man answers the phone, but often times, the staff at the window serving you your food is not very pleasant-in particular one of the younger brunette girls with short hair. I understand, you work long days and get grumpy, but you can at least pretend like you are thankful to the customers, especially since I tip generously every time. But overall, food is great. Would give 5 stars to the quality of the food. Experience and portions for your price brings it down to 4. read more

We commented that we were surprised the food was as good as it was . It really was. Fresh , tasty and in the words of my husband ," quite possibly the best fries I've ever had ! The latest generation of this terrific Cape Cod seafood restaurant family hits it out of the park. Modern takes on the classics. Sriracha mayo is a staple. And there's a je ne sais quoi about the onions - pickled, sautéed and straight. Clams done to perfection - but you'd expect. Incredible veggie tacos (with radishes for kick). A lobster roll that isn't smothered in dressing (thank you!). The best shake menu on the Cape (ask about the daily special). And don't miss the avocado burger. I grew up on the cape and haven't been to a snack bar as food as The Knack in years!! The burgers were perfectly cooked, crispy, juicy and delicious. Onion rings were out of this world!!! Classic crispy shoestring fries. And the real shocker was how good the chicken tenders were! Juicy and flavorful. Can't wait to go back several times this summer. read more

Really enjoyed the fish tacos. The ice cream sandwich was delicious and large enough for 2.

It's as good as they say! Tastes like real food, prices are reasonable, everyone was friendly and there was a really nice relaxed vibe out back. Portions of the sides were huge. We'll definitely be back on our next drive to Ptown, and next time we'll leave time for wine & beer. read more

What a nice surprise! Stopped in for lunch on a gorgeous fall day. Nice to sit outside. Food was very good. We had fish tacos which were very well seasoned and a double burger also quite good, along with the carrot and apple slaw....but the winner was the order of onion rings - The Best! .....And they have a small selection of craft beers which was welcomed. Loved this spot! It's trendy, got a great vibe, and the food was awesome! We tried a little bit of everything, and even our picky kids loved the food. A little on the pricier side, but then again, you're paying for lobster rolls. We didn't end up eating there but they have nice outdoor seating. We grabbed the food and took it down to the beach and made a little picnic out of it. Next time I'm at the cape, we'd definitely come back! read more

We just went for lunch today and all seven of us agreed that it is two thumbs up! As someone who grew up near here but now lives near NYC, this place felt like a great seafood version of Shake Shack. Although, dare I say...I liked The Knack's burger more! I had the lobster roll - fabulous! The price is pretty low for the cape, actually and when it first arrived I did notice that it wasn't as large as some others I've eaten around here, BUT you quickly notice that the lobster pieces are large and of excellent quality. The sauce and bun were juuuuuust right. My dad, husband and son had the fish tacos. Okay, I actually ended up having one fish taco also when my husband ordered a second round...because they were THAT GOOD. I feel the need to mention our family's half-Mexican heritage and obsession with fish tacos. These were legit and fresh and zingy and crunchy and...you get it. My mom had the fish sandwich and even though it's huge I somehow didn't ask for a bite in time. So yeah, it was clearly delicious. I DID get to try their unique tartar sauce because my youngest son used it to dip his (awesome) chicken fingers since the sweet horseradish sauce that came with them was still a bit too spicy for this one year old. My eldest ordered a double ring burger and I did snag a bite, as I mentioned, and found it fantastically delicious. My middle son was going to try the avocado, chipotle aoli, bacon dog (in addition to his fish taco) but changed his mind and went with dessert instead so we will have to try the hotdog next time. My youngest ate all of his chicken fingers, which rarely happens. I tried a bite and saw why - really good. We also all shared perfectly thin onion rings, just the way we like them. We shared two ice cream sandwiches house-made with chocolate chip cookies and chocolate sea salt caramel ice cream. SO GOOD. One son also got a banana shake and you could see the pieces of real banana in it. He said it was the best banana shake he's ever had. This kid is a banana shake connoisseur. The place itself is clean, clearly intentionally designed (seating, flow, etc) and the employees were friendly and inquisitive about our experience. It is late October and the outdoor seating was very comfortable with radiant heat, and transparent wind block, that makes you still feel like you are in an open space. My son was very satisfied with the onion ring burger. The pickle burger packed a punch. The fish taco was fresh, the cilantro and cabbage were flavorful. I'm not sure how long this place has been here. It was pretty good. I had a burger and my kids had the chicken fingers. They were all great. Place is clean, quick and courteous. My only 'doh' moment is the parking sign. It gives the impression that there is parking behind the building. There is, but not directly behind the building, they mean on the street behind. There is a parking lot on the street behind adjacent to the parking lot. Not a big deal, but a pain backing out when the parking lot is jammed. read more
