Was visiting some friends in Kalispell (I live in Seattle) and they suggested we go this wonderful diner for breakfast. It most certainly did not disappoint. As we walked in, we were met with the beautiful aroma of freshly baked scones (the make all their scones from scratch, how cool is that??) combined with smells of delicious omelets and such. I ordered the yogurt french toast and it was AMAZING. Definitely a winner in our book and will visit there with the family again. :) read more

My Salad and my husband's sandwich were both good here. The soup was a little under seasoned but the sandwich was very flavorful and well-crafted. My salad was a little small but the ingredients were great. Our waitress was really friendly. The atmosphere is a bit quirky and the menu is diverse and anybody could find something they liked. My wife and I, have been in Montana for a little over six weeks. I hate to say it, but we have been having a really hard time finding a restaurant that serves really great food, with really great service. Alas, we feel like we definitely found one. The only downside, is that they don't serve dinner. But if your looking for a great breakfast or lunch, you have to stop in, and try. The food is exceptional with a very diverse menu. Trust me, I read many Yelp reviews to find a great restaurant. I don't know if family or friends, write them, because we are often disappointed. His mom studied at the Cordon Bleu in Paris and he knows his eggs. The eggs were poached to perfection and served on a fresh croissant. The yummy seasoned home fries melted in your mouth. Was very disappointed with the quality of food and our hot beverages. Our pasta dishes were like soup. Too rich with very few noodles. Ordered extra noodles and the dishes were still too saucey. Both of my teenagers did not eat their pasta dishes, which were fairly expensive. Our drinks were overly sweet as well and my London fog was very watered down. My salad was passable but not worth the price. Would not recommend. The only reason I gave 2 stars was that the waitstaff were very nice and attentive. read more

The Knead is a small, quaint spot in downtown Kalispell that offers homemade entrees and pastries with a get-to-know the owner style in a relaxed, almost home/hotel setting. Food is fresh, healthy, and made with happy ingredients. Beni's are one of the favorites around here. One version uses a croissant in place of the muffin! There are many unique choices for all style of foodies. The Tree Hugger can be vegan, so can the curry bowl. Food is totally on point here. The one thing that takes this a notch down for me is the layout and decor. It feels overly homey and the chairs are cushioned old hotel chairs (at least how I remember some old hotels). This is a really clean place to eat, but no matter how hard you try, cushions are kinda gross for me (they are comfy though!!). You see right into the kitchen which is usually cool but not the best set-up here. It's sorta like watching people cook at home, which isn't bad but it doesn't elevate the food to what it really is BUT I think that is their intent here: Homey Cafe. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. The Knead is our first choice for breakfast in Kali. We like getting our food to go here. AND......they have delivery! read more

This was a great breakfast spot! We loved the variety on the menu. My boyfriend had the huevos rancheros and said that his dish was delicious and surprisingly light. I had the tofu scramble which had tofu, sautéed veggies, potatoes, sprouts, pico de gallo and mozzarella. I chose it because I'd never seen anything like it before (especially for breakfast) but it was very healthy and delicious! The waitress was very attentive. I would recommend this spot! read more

First day of our Glacier Vacation and stepped off the plane in Kalispell quite hungry. Knowing nothing of the city I did a search on Yelp and found The Knead Cafe with rave reviews. What it lacks in ambiance it more than made up for in food. We each started off a homemade soup - unique and delicious. We narrowed down the sandwiches to two: the Flat Iron Sourdough Melt and The Sunset Turkey. Both great in their own way but I don't know what it was about The Sunset Turkey but it may have been one of the best Turkey Sandwiches ever. I know Turkey Sandwiches can be on the boring side but whatever they did to those sprouts, it was magical. Prices were very reasonable and service delightful and efficient. Deeeeeeelicious! Best breakfast in town, really. Perfect latte. Huevos Rancheros was heaped with tasty homemade salsa and guacamole. The carnitas extra was amazingly tender and flavorful. As full-time RVers we go around the country and are always searching for breakfast/lunch places like this. The Knead Cafe did not disappoint us; the food was exceptionally good and the owner/staff were friendly and welcoming. It is very clear that they are trying hard to distance themselves from the issues surrounding their previous endeavor and if their new restaurant remains as it was today those memories will quickly recede into the past. One unusual and pleasant aspect of the restaurant is that it isn't furnished with normal cafe furnishings. The chairs are cloth covered, comfortable, and more like arm chairs than dining chairs. It gives the place a pleasant appearance and definitely improves the comfort level. You are encouraged by the surroundings to sit and talk and have another cup of coffee. read more

What a wonderful step away from the norm in Kalispell. We are from the Midwest and came to Montana to spend a week in Glacier National Park (beautiful). After living out of doors and eating packaged meals from a camp stove for a week we were ready for some real, delicious and wholesome food. The Knead Cafe delivered! We love a good breakfast - and this had to be the most special and excellent breakfast on our 7 week trip! It is a small place, and I didn't care for being able to see the entire kitchen - but . . .the chairs were VERY comfortable, the menu selection made it hard to choose - and it was just wonderful. Wish it were closer to us! (We're in California) There were guests w/small children - and it was "OK" - not really set up for kids, but . .if parents are diligent, it works.
