Loved this place! I feel like I found a gem! I was visiting Kalispell for the first time in several years and wasn't sure where to go for a yummy casual meal. This place popped up and I had a good feeling about it and I was right! The server was so gracious, beautiful smiling faces from everyone who works there. It feels welcoming. AND the food was delicious. I had a gluten-free potato quiche with some savory carrot soup YUMMY! The teapot was the kicker though: what joy and surprise when she brought me my tea in an elephant pot! I had to take a picture. Loved it. We stopped in at this spot on our way into town from the airport & had a late lunch while we waited for our Airbnb check in time. The service was fantastic, and the coffee (Colter Coffee) was absolutely perfect after a long travel day. Hubs got the Cuban Reuben, no cheese (duh), and I got the chicken souvlaki wrap with no cheese as well. They brought an avocado spread over and some dairy free sauces to go with our eats. Side salads for both of us, and everything was super fresh (... and filling). 1/2 the wrap was for sure a take-home, and so good. Parking was easy, ambiance was cozy, and the wait staff was absolutely lovely. read more

After a long all night drive from Minnesota we stopped at The Knead Cafe and the skies opened and we were blessed with the most delicious breakfast. The coffee perfection, drip coffee perfectly hot and brewed. The Welsh Eggs... the welsh eggs... one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Perfectly poached eggs, delicious potatoes, and that sauce! When people say they would bathe in a sauce... I get it, it's this one. Slather me up! Excellent service! Incredible place to eat and not too far from the airport. We went for brunch before catching our flight. I had the Xena? Veggie bowl. Soooo good. Others in our party got the veggie breakfast burrito and kids waffles. It was all delicious. Service was pretty fast. We would definitely come back! Tuscan Veggie Benedict and the Black bean quinoa burger made for the best meal we've had on vacation this year. We drove 27 miles to get to The Knead Cafe and it was well worth it. The service is great. The Cafe is fairly small, perhaps 15 tables, and the staffing is really good. Three or four in the galley, three of four servers, and a couple of dishwashers. This is a pretty popular spot in Kalispell for breakfast it seems like. We were able to find street parking. It's a small place, but luckily we got in right before there was a rush of people. The coffee menu was on the wall. I ordered the Bee Sting, which is a latte with cinnamon and a bit of cayenne spice. It was good, but I was more in the mood for a Golden Latte...which I found out they had AFTER I had already ordered. Weirdly enough, when I asked the waiter if the Bee Sting was similar to the Golden Latte, he said no and didn't proceed to tell me that they had a Golden Latte. Meh. They also ran out of almond milk. (I'm kinda just salty). Anyway, we ordered a croissant breakfast sandwich and the Tree Hugger. My friend said the croissant breakfast sandwich was good and pretty filling. The Tree Hugger was super healthy if that's something you're looking for. So healthy that it was pretty bland. It was almost like they just cut up a bunch of veggies and threw them into a bowl. There wasn't much seasoning or taste to it. When you have tofu, you've got to add at least something to it! I digress. The server just didn't seem to care or give us the time of day, so I'm not too surprised that it reflects the state of their establishment however popular this spot is. Overall, the food was alright, the coffee was good, the service was meh. I may consider stopping by again, but I would probably try out another spot instead. read more

Well, how time has changed the Knead Cafe. This is a sad story of a once 'under the radar' fantastic niche eatery that blended new world flavor with old world service. I first visited in roughly 2016 and was amazed with how this non traditional fare found a home in a conservative small town. The chefs and servers part of a lovely family that exuded care for their customers no matter their background. The experience was always personal, and most importantly the food was the priority. I'm saddened to say that upon my return after more than a year since my last visit, the restaurant feels almost hollow. The warmth, the unique Montana spirit - is gone. It's almost as if someone took a small piece of cold, bitter and tasteless California and parked it here. Look no further than their walls, covered in pictures paying homage to everything NOT Montana. If you're not a part of the demographic being catered to (mandles, pony tail, likely from California or wishing to be there), it just won't feel like a warm welcome or a home. I don't know if the owners/chefs have taken inspiration from new people or of this was always their dream... The food is still good, but the soul... the soul is gone. read more

This place was a bit hidden in a row of businesses, but it was worth coming to. The streak of great breakfasts has continued on our trip with this spot. I had Vivienne's Eggs Benedict which had a croissant as the base, thinly sliced ham, an egg, and hollandaise sauce. I feel like Egg's Benedict are hit or miss between the egg being cooked too long or the hollandaise sauce breaking, but the egg and sauce were fantastic. They were served with a side of potatoes which I thought were pretty tasty. My Wife got a veggie and egg burrito and they really packed it with vegetables. It was different from the usual breakfast burrito as there was zucchini, black beans, mushrooms, cheese, red onion, and broccoli. We both were a bit on the fence about how much we enjoyed the burrito just because some of the veggies were very different from a standard veggie burrito, but that's on us rather than the restaurant as the veggies were cooked really well. It's a personal preference. I got lemon bars as a dessert and I was a big fan of these. The lemon flavor was more subtle than I've had in the past and it was delicious. My Wife had a blueberry and vanilla scone that was also delicious. I feel as though scones can very easily get dry, but these were spot on. The scone also came with a side cup of lemon sauce that added a nice flavor contrast to the berries. Our server was excellent and if back ok the area, I'd happily stop here again and I know my Wife would say the same. read more

This place is a little gem kind of tucked in on a side street just off Main. My granddaughter was in town from Seattle so I brought her here for breakfast. The servers were all very friendly and attentive and brought gd her almond milk latte and fresh coffee Tom every quickly. She ordered waffles with bacon, two nice squares of what seemed to be Belgian Waffles with warm syrup. I opted for Eggs Benedict, just outstanding hollandaise over perfectly poached eggs with generous portion of sliced ham and fried potatoes. I highly recommend this little place! read more

What a yummy place for breakfast! We came here because of great Yelp reviews and weren't disappointed. The portions are huge, the coffee is strong but not bitter and the service was on point. You pay at the table - conveniently with Square if you're paying via card. We can see why this place has a wait list for tables. The seating area is small and comfy, making it easy to linger. The owner is super nice as well - he leaned out of the kitchen and chatted to us for quite a while until his wife told him to get back to work. Found this local place on yelp and we tried it for brunch. Welsh eggs with the cheddar white wine sauce was absolutely incredible. Forget the name of the ham sandwich my husband had but he loved it and said it was one of the best Caesar salads he's had anywhere. Tweed pie was fantastic! Great coffee, wonderful service! I've had huevos rancheros at many restaurants and this is by far one of the best renditions I've ever had. the carnitas was perfectly seasoned and tender, the eggs were just as I requested, and that ranchero sauce is drinkable! it was so tasty I had to compliment the chef! the servers were also very attentive and helpful. My husband ordered the huevos rancheros. He orders this dish nearly every time it's offered on the menu of where we happen to be and he said this was some of the best he's ever eaten. I ordered the cajun gouda fritatta. It was flavorful and bursting with fresh veggies. The portion sizes were enough to fill you up without leaving you feeling overly full. On our way out, I ordered the Bee Sting latte to go. I was a bit leary at first, as it has cayenne pepper in it. I was hooked from my first sip. Someone had recommended this place when we went through Kalispell, and glad we had the recommendation. It's not exactly on the main drag, so we probably would not have seen it just walking around. In fact from the outside you wonder what kind of place it is. But inside the atmosphere is warm and inviting, the food is excellent and the servers are top notch.
