I used to go to the old knead back around 2001. It was awesome. Sure there were problems. But this place is just weird. The food portions are amazing! The food not so amazing in my opinion. It's just okay. I got a sandwich which was gigantic. Salad dressing was not good at all. I got the tahini one. The soup sounded amazing but was pretty blah. The chairs in this tight space are weird!! Found Knead on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It was busy and for good reason. They had traditional breakfast but we decided to try something different. I had the special which was a beef pastie, a beef dish, covered in dough and brown gravy. It wasn't the prettiest, but it was DELICIOUS! The gravy was excellent. Hubby had Welsh eggs and ate every bite, I was lucky to get a taste. Service was great; they were busy yet very attentive. Oh! 2nd trip here. Love the setting. Biscuits & gravy with eggs was good (how can it not be) but the sausage was not very flavorful at all. Spouse had the Albuquerque Turkey, a delicious sandwich, but they were out of turkey so it was an Albuquerque Chicken. Still very tasty. Cozy little place. Great food. I love this little hole in the wall café. The wait staff is so incredibly friendly. I'm often blessed to get a lovely waitress named Olivia. Their food is very fresh, inventive, and full of flavor. Subpar food. Very small place in an old tiny strip mall in downtown Kalispell, that feels too close and crowded. The Knead was excellent years ago when it started, with the husband and wife owners. It was in a great location with lots of room, outside dining on the deck as well, fantastic wait staff, and really good and tasty food. The menu was extensive with unique and varied cultural favorites. I even saw a few celebrities that liked to dine here. But alas, the same cannot be said of the location, space, or food now. The husband is still there but I thought the food was not that good. The decor is tea house inspired so consequently it is mostly ladies that come here. Ordered the eggs benedict--which is one of the featured dishes and presumably something they have practice making. The dish itself was alright but the potatoes that came with it were heavily burned. Some could be eaten if you didn't mind the taste but about half were burnt to a crisp and totally inedible. I had them left on the plate at the end and they looked completely black like charcoal briquettes, not like in the pictures on the site. My waitress didn't seem to notice and she never asked about how the meal was, so it would have seemed rude to bring it up. I understand that restaurants do get rushed but it was 10 am on a Tuesday and I was probably one of three customers in the place. The staff/owners were mostly in back talking to each other. I still paid full price and tipped because I did eat the food (at least that which was physically possible to eat). But I am not sure if I would go back. Looking at the other reviews here I might have just gotten unlucky. The place was still clean and presentable, and the menu always looks great--and the specials sound great--but it was definitely a disappointing experience. read more

Welsh Eggs were so good you'd think they traveled to England for the recipe. Perfectly poached with lovely partially cooked yolk, and then the cheddar white wine sauce was scrumptious to top it off. Sorry I didn't get pictures of the food it was practically art on a plate but I didn't want to embarrass my host. My buddy got Cajun Log Jam and it was good (I got to finish it). We made it just in time for lunch and I am glad we did! My wife and I enjoyed a delicious meal. The breads are made in house and you can tell. I got the Albuquerque turkey sandwich with the broccoli cheddar soup, it was amazing. My wife enjoyed the soup and salad option with fresh french bread. Update 4/25/19: Server was inattentive and downtight rude. Soup of rhe day was halibut chowder, which a few of us got. The fish was extremely chewy and overcooked. We think they tried to salvage it by throwing it into soup, but it just wasn't good. My salad was tasty but a bit small. Bf's caesar salad was way overdressed. Mine was too, but less than his. I took some of mine in a to-go container, which is a very cheap kind, because the dressing leaked through its bottom and all over the back seat of my car! I have been here for breakfast, which is much better. I wont be here for their lunch again. read more

Based on Yelp reviews, we visited for lunch and left feeling amazed. I had the Chicken Souvlaki wrap and my wife had Chicken Panini, both with side salads. I rarely speak in superlatives, but todays lunch was memorable not only for the food quality, but the amazing server which we were fortunate to have. My wrap served as both lunch and dinner and I had to occasionally contemplate how to get such a large wrap into my mouth. Each of the salad ingredients stood on their own as fresh and perfect.
