The Kroft was the last stop of our food list during our vacation in LA as my girlfriend saw their poutine fries heavily posted all over Instagram. Situated inside the Anaheim Packing House, make sure you look at the directory before you make your way in there because you will get lost and roam around aimlessly in circles (not that that's a bad thing because there's so many food options here)! We arrived at around 4, but the place was still packed and there was a line for the Kroft. However, the line moves fast, so fear not. We ordered the chicken pot fries, which was absolutely delicious. Chicken pot pie is a classic and so are fries, so when you combine two classics, you get greatness. When the fries arrive, it looks heavy and you might feel regret for all the calories you're about to consume, but trust me, fries are always worth the calories. Eat the fries immediately because they will get soggy and do not taste as great when the fries aren't piping hot. Also, the chicken pot gravy gets lumpy when sitting too long. My girlfriend and I weren't hungry, so we didn't order anything else. The sandwiches sounded good though, so maybe next time when we're back in LA. read more

My gf took me here the other day to try this hipster place out. It's pretty awesome inside - very spacious with lots of seating. We went on a random Thursday for dinner so it wasn't crowded at all. I can't imagine how this place will be on the weekends. Anyway, we shared the porchetta sandwich and regular fries. The fries were made really well, extra crispy with tons of cheese and parsley. Most menu items are priced around $10 which really isn't that bad. It's a trendy place, guys. Short rib sandwich: not going to lie, I was disappointed with this. It had a fair amount of tender beef, but I wasn't a fan of the radish. It was too sweet. I felt like the sandwich flavors in general were just overall okay. Not bad, not great. Chicken pot fries totally made up for the mediocrity of the sandwich! We ate every last fry.The chicken was tender, the herbs and cheese were flavorful, and there was just enough gravy for flavor but not sogginess. Would definitely order this again. Service was quick and efficeint and we had no issues finding seating near the actual stand, although you can totally venture around Packing House and sit somewhere else if you wish. read more

The last time I had poutine was in the land of poutine (Canada). Ever since then I've been looking forward to my trip there next year just so I can get my hands on that deliciousness. Thankfully I've found a cheaper destination for poutine. My friend got the chicken pot pie fries and I got the short rib poutine. The short rib poutine was nice but towards the end it got a little too heavy and rich for me and I couldn't keep eating. I kept trying bites of my friend's chicken pot pie fries and they just kept tasting amazing (ACTUALLY tasted like chicken pot pie which was pretty amazing) so I was slightly bummed that I didn't get those. I'm really undecided on this one. I would really give the Kroft 2.5 stars if I could. The atmosphere is great - love the packing house. Like the beer on tap. And the staff is really nice. Their potato salad was heavenly! Then I tried the Porchetta Sandwich. There is just way too much going on in it. To many Conflicting flavors. A porchetta sandwich should be all about the pork. This was not. The pork was a little dry & it was flavorless. I was truly disappointed. The hubby says his prime rib sandwich was good, though I didn't try it. The Kroft seems to be hit & miss with the menu, but for hit & miss I'm Not comfortable shelling out $50 for two sandwiches, two beers, fries & a little potato salad. read more

First off, the sandwich i chose was recommended by (Kevin I.) if you don't know who he is, he has the most visits to the kroft ever since it opened. (Kevin I. comments are on the very top of this yelp tips page) Ponchetta- roasted pork sandwich, it is probably their best sandwich. (10$) I recommend trying this first before anything else on the menu. It makes the visit well worth waiting in line for. White Gravy sauce is delicious and the country fried steak was nicely cut into nugget sizes. - The best part of this order I felt was the small chunks of fresh mozzarella. It was a great blend between fresh cheese along with the gravy and fries and made the entire experience that much better 2) Short Rib Cibatta sandwich - This was a nice sandwich, short rib was good. overall flavor was good. - For $10, it didn't WOW us, but it was not bad either. *Note - it was ~2pm on Sunday and we wanted to order the classic poutine, but they were out of the 'brown gravy'. You can't visit Anaheim Packing District without stopping by The Kroft and getting some of their poutine. I love the little cheese curds that are hidden within the fries. I got the short rib poutine my first time here and I can't remember what else I ordered, but everything was good and the poutine is the perfect serving size to share. Very filling and you will most likely finish your meal with a satisfied stomach. I have yet to order their fried cheese curds the next time I'm here. This is the first restaurant at the packing house I've ever ate at and it wasn't bad, just something else. The staff is super friendly and upbeat, very knowledgable of the menu items, and works at a fast pace. I got a fried chicken sandwich and the chicken would've been great on its own, but sandwiched with a milky jalapeño coleslaw threw me off just a little. Located in the hip and trendy Packing House. My friend waited in a LONG LINE, about 1 hour for The Kroft, but it was worth the wait. We tried the porchetta sandwich which was flavorful and unique. I liked the crispy texture of the pork skin, which is difficult to acheive and the tenderness of the meat. They must have brined the pork because all parts were tender. Their signature bread also held the sandwich well and the argula was refreshing. We also ate their Pork cheese curd fries, and it was so delicious. The description I just made was for the braised short rib poutine. It sounded heavy for dinner but it wasn't at all. I had maybe one or two bites left. The beef was tender and they did not go stingy on the amount. My husband and I were fighting over those little cheese bits in there. It was yummy! The French fries were actually really good. The meat was so tender, and I'm glad they let it shine by not overloading the sandwich with other fillings. Just cheese, red onions, and sauce. Loved the menu at this stall in the Anaheim Packing District. Having heard that they specialize in poutine, that is what I ordered. I went with the Short Rib Poutine, which was very good. However, I wish they posted the ingredients in each somewhere, as there ended up being a lot of mushrooms in mine unexpectedly. Not usually a mushroom fan, I was able to eat them despite the heavy amount and they didn't have too negative of an impact though. Prices were reasonable as well. read more

Went to the Kroft because my husband had seen a picture on Instagram with what looked to be a rotisserie chicken on some fries that looked rather delicious and he was sold. We drove well out of our way to come here and when we got there the cashier looked like she would rather be anywhere else but there. She looked uninterested in answering any of our questions and when I asked for a menu she just pointed at the wall. Thanks. When we asked her if they had what was on the photo she didn't even know and asked one of the cooks who said they only had that in their other location. Seems like false advertising to me when they post pictures on their IG page with a link to the directions for THIS location. The post could have at least mentioned it was only at certain locations. We ordered something else because the food still sounded appetizing. I got the short rib sandwich and my husband got the country fried chicken poutine. We shared the garlic truffle fries. Garlic truffle fries are 5/5. They were delicious but the fact that they charge 27 cents for a tiny cup of ranch is kinda ridiculous. Short Rib sandwich was okay. The meat was bland and there was nothing outstanding about it. The country fried chicken poutine was gross and t hardly had any chicken in it. Overall, sandwiches were a bit dry; especially my friends porchetta sandwich. The fries stood out the most sorry to say. The most disappointing of all was the staff. We tried the following: Classic Poutine - I wasn't really into this, the fries were cold and dry. The gravy taste was off, it didn't taste like the classic poutine Fried Chicken Sandwich - this was pretty good.
