Place a reservation in advance then you'll be golden. We enjoyed the Lobster Rolls and pizza. The food on the menu looked, smelt amazing and was good but didn't come out fresh and quick. A very rude family member made a disturbance when the staff could not accommodate our party of 8 on the deck. The staff was extremely patient even after very rude comments were made. I try to never leave one star reviews. I don't do it lightly. We went to Lake George over the summer and chose to eat at the Lagoon. This place is disgusting. It reminded me of a Kitchen Nightmare episode. We ordered fried Brussels sprouts. They came out hard as a rock. Couldn't even cut through them. I did bite into one and put it on top. I told our waitress they weren't cooked. She bought them back and they were black, and the Brussels sprout that I bit into (and the one I cut into) was still there, so that's pretty gross and unsanitary, refrying food that someone has already but into. The oil smelled horrible and I'm sure it was old and hasn't been changed in a long time if ever. The burger was inedible. My friend tried hard tho, but in the end after one bit he couldn't do it. The spinach caprese wrap was weird, it was packed with spinach, only two cherry tomatoes and less than an ounce of cheese. The waitresses were giving us looks and pointing, and then the chef apparently looked out at us after we sent back the Brussels sprouts, I didn't see it my roommate did. Still an odd thing to experience. We didn't eat anything and ended up paying $70 after tip for two people. Yikes. How is this place still in business? The view wasn't bad. This place was really nice overlooking the lake. We were looking for a place to eat for lunch that would accept dogs and the staff said it was no problem, they are dog-friendly. Staff were nice and accommodating of our group. Food and drinks were good. To start, I ordered the Korean style fried chicken and the watermelon drink. The chicken was so crispy. We decided to try Lagoon as our first dine in place at Lake George, because of their seafood items. The restaurant is located at second floor of a market place villa, with an open deck, having gorgeous view of the lake. The outdoor seats are pretty hit in summer, so seats inside the deck have both cool AC air and the view as well. We ordered the lobster boat and lobster burger. The food arrived within a short time, which was very impressive. We loved the lobster boat, especially how the bread was made, with butter added. The lobster burger was humongous, the 8 oz paddy suited extremely well with the lobster meat and cheddar cheese sauce. We were very satisfied with the meal and service. This place had a filthy table they seated us at. Either sawdust or pollen but either way, it hadn't been cleaned or wiped off for at least a day. My friend and I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sliders and the meat was literally a chicken dunker cut in half. One half on each slider...for $20. Came here for lunch after white water rafting. We were first seated directly under a vent and after complaining 2 times they were able to move us. If you're lucky, you can sit at the patio and get a great view of the lake. I had the lobster roll and fries - it was alright. Definitely better in Maine. read more

Although the location is ideal and picturesque (overlooking Lake George with a view of the steamship docks), the service was OK. Unfortunately, like many tourist traps (as Lake George is a very touristy town) the food quality was subpar. I got the fried shrimp and their calamari with a side of tater tots. The food took an average amount of time to come out; however, everything was very salty, and the batter was incredibly thick (making up 90% of the shrimp content.) I posed the question to my husband and daughter: Want to eat at a place that has better food or food with a view? Lagoon is the later choice. Food with a view. Take it in where you are. A few things to take into consideration: 1. First come first serve- do not take reservations 2. If the weather is bad- stay away. At least half their tables are outside. 3. Remember the dirty floors? 4. Handicap accessible- yes but... we had a stroller with out 19 month old. We were told there is a ramp but it is lined with garbage. We opted to carry the stroller down the stairs. leaving, my husband took the ramp. He confirmed it wasn't pleasant. 5. Have a kids menu (but you might have to ask for it. We rolled in with an 11 year old and a toddler. We spent a few minutes debating over how to order our dinner and our waitress told us about the kids menu! Then she got us one.) 6. They don't have enough supplies? We could not hold onto the tap list as they only had a few copies. 7. They reserved two tables for a band to play. We were there for 2 hrs and the band did not show up but we had to wait to be seated 25 minutes because they would not use those tables. I had filet sliders with tots and a strawberry daquiri. Tots needed some seasoning. The daquiri was standard. The Sliders were DELICIOUS! My daughter did not like her mac. It wasn't hot and she didn't like the flavor. My husband was not impressed with his meal. Moral of the story- you come for the view of the lake and you might get lucky with your order. read more

Weekends, this place is packed, but we got lucky with walking in on one last empty table at 4pm Very extensive menu--tons of options to choose from. Waiters very super busy, but our food was brought out quickly and we were well attended to. Mozzarella sticks were not too salty, so that was nice. The typical frozen category though, so you might want to skip them and try a dish unique to this restaurant. The mushroom burger $16 was tasty but too simple. Just cheese and mushrooms on top of the party. The meat was tasty and juicy. But the burger had no sauce, so it felt dry and underwhelming. Every burger needs a sauce. How do you make a burger without any sauce? The French Mountain burger $16 was a total bomb! One of the most memorable burgers I've ever had! The patty was juicy and delicious. Provolone, Sautéd onions and mushrooms topped the meat. The bourbon glaze sauce was to die for! It transformed a simple burger into a high end dish. I could've ate that burger every day of my life and never gotten tired of it. My taste buds were very happy with such well balanced sauce that United all the ingredients into a perfect symphony of flavors. Tater tots were nothing new under the sun. The wedged fries were surprisingly amazing--perfectly seasoned and crispy. We were in the area for the winter carnival and was given great reviews about this place. Since it was the winter we dined inside which was a great atmosphere and when we walked in we were automatically created and for a party of 12 we were seated right away. I started off with the Ice in drink which was delicious highly recommended. And for apps we got an order of wings and the popcorn shrimp. I ordered the hot sauce on the wings and we're more mild than anything. And the wings were the perfect size not huge and definitely not on the small side. The wings were perfectly crispy and still so juicy and amazing. I could had another dozen. The popcorn shrimp was good more breadcrumb than shrimp. But still very good For the entree I got the chicken sandwich which had bacon and chipotle mayo on it. This is where it gets only 4 stars. The chipotle mayo had little to no zest. Which you need to bring a little heat and flavor in if not it's just mayo. The chicken breast was good size but lacked juice. It was as dry at the bun. The bacon was cooked perfectly. Not a long wait either for a table on a firework night (maybe 15 minutes, but we grabbed a drink while waiting so it wasn't bad). Good drinks for reasonable prices. Quick service and waiter was friendly. Marinara sauce for mozzarella sticks had a weird taste. But the street corn dip and wings were good. A little sad I couldn't swap the club to be on a wrap instead of a wrap, but the sandwich my friend got had the option to swap. Pizzas are not great at all. Dough is terrible and there's too much sauce which literally wets the dough and blends the flavors making it indistinguishable. That being said, our other food was great. Just had a great experience at the lagoon. I ordered the steak tacos and they came with the choice of tater tot's french fries or homemade chips, I went with the tater tot's, and they were absolutely fantastic along with the tacos. Another consistent visit to The Lagoon for dinner on firework night. They were able to accommodate our party of 4 outside where we enjoyed beers from their vast list and each of our meals were great. I will say I had the filet sliders and they were smaller than I expected. The plate was filled with yummy tater tots which helped but I do think they should either have a thicker cut of filet for the two sliders or have three sliders. read more
