The food was basic breakfast food. It's hard to mess up bacon, eggs and potatoes. However, the service was not up to par. When we arrived we were told it would be 20 minutes. I put my number on the waiting list and agreed to wait. After 25 minutes I went back inside to check the status. The hostess said she had to clean a table. After being seated, the waitress arrived promptly and returned with our waters. We ordered which included coffee for me. I waited 15 minutes for the coffee and we all waited another 20 minutes after that for food. When paying for the meal, we asked for a small box for leftovers that never arrived. First impression was this place was too loud to have a normal conversation with someone else at the same table. Wish I had a decibel meter to see how loud it really was. Put some curtains on the walls to kill the noise. Ordered the breakfast biscuits and gravy. Wife ordered breakfast tacos. I really believe the biscuits were leftover from yesterday. One, the bottom half was so hard, I could not cut it with a fork. I guess a cruchy biscuit might not be all bad. The mushroom gravy was, at best, luke warm. Eggs, bland and prepared ok. Only 2 strips of bacon? Wife said the tacos were ok, but would not order again. Then the ultimate surprise, 20% gratuity added in advance. Auto tip for just 2 people? I usually tip 25-30% on my own, but not today. Bottom line, you want a good breakfast or brunch, keep going. Plenty of other better places to spend your money. We go for breakfast. My first time I had the mushroom gravy biscuits and it did not disappoint. Recently I've had the special listed on the board as you walk in... Pork Belly Grit Bowl. I knew it was going to be good but had no idea it was going to be "that" good. Definitely worth giving a try, I know I will again. I'm going back... even with the 20% gratuity already added onto the final bill I'll still go back. It's a shame that the staff is limited to that as I usually tip servers 30%+. read more

After trying the location at Broad, we for sure knew we were going to have a good experience at this one. This one....... exactly how many stars I gave. One. Menu looked promising. So I ordered a coffee (black). There are no issues there. I also ordered a Breakfast Banh Mi. I was curious as to what it would look and taste like. It's hard to mess up a fresh Vietnamese sandwich. WELLLLLLL...... - Egg - over easy - seasoned - Spam - Cooked - Banh Mi - flavor - freshness The size of the plate was insane. Good if it was tasty. But since the Banh Mi had no flavor even with pickled jalapeños. Why would you add pickled jalapeños? I ended up picking out the spam because that was the only good thing about the sandwich. I wonder who decides not to season the food? Tommy's Burgers down the street has better seasoned breakfast. Service was good. There are no issues there. I did forget that 20% tips are automatically added. Sorry to say, but I won't be coming back to this location. Pictures were not taken as it wasn't worth it. read more

It's a cute little place but unfortunately the food wasn't that great. They were out of empanadas so we sadly couldn't try them but I had the patty melt and it was very very bland. The fries were seasoned but they had some sort of lime or some other kind of seasoning that just wasn't good on the fries in my opinion. The food was great, the staff was terrific! All of the staff was very friendly and happy folks. It's obvious that the place is run well by people that care- kudos to the leadership group. Do note that gratuity is included in check, but is well posted on the menu and on the check itself, so it is not a surprise (unless you don't read the menu or check LOL). Came here on a Sunday with my wife and her sisters for brunch. Long story short, they were out of a lot of things...so much so that we had to change our orders no less than twice. The food took forever to come out and when I did receive it my burger and fries both came out cold. The plantains were an acceptable temperature but were still on the tepid side. I think my water was only refilled twice the whole "meal" so service wasn't great either. I put meal in quotations because I sent my food back and didn't even want them to try to remake it by that point. Side note: This is completely out of the restaurants control but be aware parking is atrocious on a Sunday afternoon. My sister in laws were circling the complex for almost half an hour looking for a spot and eventually had to park across the street, which is one of the busier streets in the city. I'm sure my experience is the exception as there was quite a crowd of people, but I for one won't be coming back. read more

Was excited to try the new East Memphis outpost. Went for brunch with a large party at 10 AM on a Saturday and still only had to wait briefly to be seated outside (plentiful ceiling fans in the shade! Godsend!). Server was courteous and helpful, all service was excellent. Pancakes were HUGE and fluffy. My father in law couldn't handle the chicory in the coffee so like if you aren't a chicory drinker just don't order it. I had a delightful matcha latte that was perfect - not overly sweetened. Food was tasty and all for a very reasonable price. Ambiance is colorful and fun. Will definitely be going back. read more

NOOOO what happened to The Liquor Store??? This is a hot mess and not in a good way. Food was a disaster and not edible. We left and went to Bryant's on summer to get a pancake. We did share with our server, offered to not charge but we insisted on paying, they did offer a manager but it wasn't worth the hassle or my time. I had already wasted an hour trying to get a simple single pancake. They know it's bad!!! I am not sure how a manager on duty is allowing such poor food quality. Used to be my favorite breakfast place on Broad. On Broad with previous owners food and service was amazing best pancake in the city. Now it's a hard pass!!! read more

4 stars. The beignets were not the greatest. Definitely needed the caramel sauce to help with taste. Other than that everything else was great. We went to this location for a birthday brunch/lunch. Parking was awful. Ended up parking across the street after driving the lot a couple of times. We were given the option to wait for inside seating or be seated immediately outside. We opted for outside even though it was hot. The outside is a covered space with ceiling fans. There are heaters there as well for cooler temps. There were bug repellent fans on some tables which helped keep the flies away. Service was ok. Will return at a less busy time to get a feel for the inside. read more

I looked at the Kitchen and looked like only one person working. One person. If I had a c-note on me, I would have walked back and given him a tip. He was trying to keep up. We got seated on the enclosed patio. The heaters were so load and inefficient we could barley care on a conversation. Will I be back, Yes. Some great dishes I want to try. Love the history behind this establishment. The food was good & so were the drinks. Your typical breakfast options + a few other options. Stopped by the coffee bar as well and was happy to see that you could walk up & order without waiting with the diners. The service was great. Loved the look of the place. Very cute & retro. I gave them 3 stars because they only had ONE high chair in the entire restaurant and it was in use. Another couple had their own booster seat from home (they obviously knew the drill). This was very inconvenient because my child is 19 months old and needs a highchair& couldn't even get a booth. I love this location! Everything was awesome from the decor to the food and coffee to the service from our server Hunter. The pancakes were huge and delicious and I love that they have vegetarian meat and non dairy milk options for coffee. We had the beignets, pancakes, breakfast tacos and veggie sausage. I would absolutely recommend any of it! I also love being able to get a delicious iced latte with breakfast. Coffee at restaurants is always so hit or miss but you can count on getting a great coffee here! Hunter was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great recommendations. First off.....customer service was exceptional!!!! They were amazing. I've had a friend come here and tell me the same thing about how she was treated. Best service I've had in a really long time. We had the catfish and spaghetti, the catfish was absolute perfection. The spaghetti was a tad under seasoned but nothing that a lil salt and pepper didn't fix. We also had the breakfast plate with hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, ham and a pancake. The pancake was huge and very good. The eggs and ham were good. The hash browns were a little undercooked for my liking but I say that lightly. I'm more of a Waffle House hash brown girl sooo....anywho. The food was overall tasty and the price was very good. A lot of the food came out barely warm, and we waited for our server to come back for condiments. It took her so long to return to our table that we ended up walking to the bar to ask for what we needed. After more time waiting, she eventually came back to the table with what we needed but by then everything was cold. We didn't see her again after that until 20 mins later. I saw other servers attending to their tables several times while ours was MIA. Then they have the nerve to have a mandatory 20% gratuity per check. To top it all off, we were seated next to a family with a dog. They had a restaurant cup on the floor for the dog to drink from. These are the same cups the rest of the restaurant patrons drink from.
