Legit kitchen nightmare material. Came in and we were seated quickly. The place was empty so we were hoping to get some decent service, but I had the most laughably bad experience of my cumulative dining experience. I was served a soda in a chipped, jagged plastic glass. My father was served whiskey that sat next to a bottle of vermouth and was called a manhattan. The bartender came over and told him he was wrong about his understanding of manhattans (it's the only thing he drinks and does so everywhere). We soldiered on and got an order of pretzels with the crab dip. The crab dip was rancid and our pretzels were soggy to the point of congealed. We decided to cut our losses and I went to find the waitress to close out. She had our entrees, which normally we would've eaten no matter what, but she put the two plates down, licked the barbecue sauce off her bare fingers, then picked up our food again. I explained that we don't want the food and offered to pay but they said no charge. Shortly after the manager/bartender chases after us in the parking lot and starts screaming at us, holding up my father's glass and asking us to show her the chips. I told her it was the soda glass and she responded with "so what? It's plastic." And chased us out of the parking lot like leather face at the end of Texas chainsaw massacre. Plastic can cut your lip just as easily as glass. You don't serve rotting food. You don't serve congealing bread. You train your front of house on proper food handling. First time here. The restaurant wasn't busy. There may have only been one waitress, so staffing might need to be addressed. The soda tasted off, as did the replacement tea. The Livery is stepping up the food game in Gburg. With real homemade and delicious entrees. Delicious homemade bacon wrapped meatloaf with real homemade redskin mashed potatoes. Fantastic! Hubby did chicken and waffles. Three pieces thigh, breast and leg of crispy and seasoned fried chicken that comes on a homemade big fluffy belgian waffle. ribs, so I could take half home for tomorrow. I've eaten ribs all over the country, never had any this bad. Also, the beans tasted a week old, and the cornbread was very stale. The coleslaw was terrible and tasted sour. My wife order the meatloaf. She could eat it. The vegetables were from a frozen bag and not fully cooked. The potato's were not edible. We eat out all the time! It's been 12-15years since we had a bad meal. We are not complainers! We we told the waitress how terrible the food was, she spoke to the manager and came back and said the manager would give a discount! He said fine and paid for the meal and left the waitress a 20% tip. We will never go back to this place and I'll tell everyone I know to avoid it. read more

Just stopped today and tried Willie's BBQ, located within The Livery. Had a half a rack of ribs, fries and cold slaw. Very pleased with the quality of their ribs. A real improvement over Sharpshooters their former name and trading at this location. That operation really sucked and was just a biker bar. We discovered the Livery during the pandemic and picked up brisket and Thursday night half price wings several times. Tonight we placed our usual order. At pickup we learned wings are now half price only for eat in customers. Yannis Greenwood Tavern has a Thursday wing special and does not discriminate against pickup customers. Responding to Steven's comment below: I'm not sure what position you have at the Livery? We have been picking up takeout brisket and 1/2 price wings on Thursday nights since last spring. Maybe you're not aware of this? We sent friends to you, bought food for parties, and bought beer. In appreciation for employees working during the pandemic, we left generous tips. Because we do not want to risk exposure to other patrons who are not following safety guidelines, we are not eating either indoors or outdoors at restaurants. Since renaming Sharpshooters, The Livery, this place has become truly terrible. My wife and I used to go to Sharpshooters once or twice a year and while it was divey it had a good atmosphere, decent food and nice bartenders. Now the food is horrific, the service terrible, and the feel is bad. The bartender had the music on so loud at 5 pm you could hardly talk., let alone hear. They were over serving obviously drunk customers while it was still daylight out and the staff didn't seem to know what beer or cider they even had to serve. The new menu is not good nor does it fit the bar or the feel of the place. Overall I'd give it less than one star if I could. Sad since Sharpshooters was fun. UPDATE, We went back in early 2020 and wow, what an upgrade! The old feel was back, the menu was way better and the staff were great. Glad the Livery is up to the old Sharpshooters vibe. My only complaint is they need to old touchscreen game machine back. We loved playing the games on there and pumped a lot of money into it! We will be back. read more

Our first stop when we got into town for a long weekend golf trip. Biggest concern as you walk into the front door is that the place is a bit of a mess. Odd layout, very few tables in the room with the bar, and a very sparse crowd for a Friday evening. I was very underwhelmed by the food. I ordered the brisket dinner. A lot of their advertising mentions their smoked dishes so I had to try. There was no smoke flavor that I could taste at all. There was so much BBQ sauce poured on top that I had to scrape it off (& it wasn't good, homemade sauce - likely from a jar). It was served with a side of baked beans that looked and tasted like Campbell's, straight out of the can. The only saving grace was a little corn muffin that came with it...that was fine. The review is for November 2017. After reading the previous poor reviews, I'm wondering if they got new management or chefs. I thoroughly enjoyed all my dining experiences here. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The burger and fries were cooked to perfection. (Best fries I've ever had actually.) I ate here several times during my thanksgiving visit up. Ah jeez. Do not come here. The food was so sub-par! My burger wasn't cooked properly, and the family I was with were not pleased. So we had this sassy server running back and forth getting us still small drinks (we did ask to hold the ice) and she was obviously annoyed at this point. She comes around and asks, and I quote: "Could I just bring you guys some pitchers?" So it's all good, that sounded great. I've been to restaurants that do this to save time. Later... she comes with the check. $120 bucks. What? No way. So since my dad is super smart, he looks at the check. 8 bucks per PITCHER. We had 5 pitchers. Ridiculous! It makes no difference if you bring them out one at a time! So here we are, not paying. She comes around and my dad talks it up about all this. She refused. Immediately she got defensive. Eventually she went in the back and "spoke with the manager." Turns out she also charged us for drinks! She then took them off the tab. My mother of course, wasn't having just that. But this waitress, she was CRAZY. Getting all up in my moms face like she is on top here. She destroyed a major policy of the life of a waiter. The customer is always right. I wanted to call the cops, seriously. She never did anything with the 8 dollar pitchers. My dad was signing the check and specifically showed her that she was not getting a tip today. Oh my god....... the worst place in town to eat.. went there for their breakfast buffet and it was all cold and was the basic items you would have. When I mean cold it was cold. So we did what any customer would do is complain. The waiters was nice and then the owner came over with his long hair ponytail. And said get the f%$# out if you don't like my food and took the peace of bread out of his hand and through my family out for saying his food was cold. He was beyond rude and universal professional. Stopped by for lunch around 12:45 on a Saturday. We waited at the hostess desk for 10 minutes. No one seemed to be working. But there were several customers enjoying their lunch. We noticed a bar in the side room. So we decided to sit at the bar. As we approached the bar, the bartender noticed us and turn to leave the bar. I saw a sign for the excellent beer selection so I went in. The place was only about 10% occupied during my visit and there were plenty of servers working, but the service was still horrible. It seemed like maybe they had just gotten over some mad rush or something. Anyway, it took forever to even get a glass of water; much longer for a beer. A skilled, conscientious server finally took care of me and the rest of my visit and the food was actually pretty good. I wish I had gotten the nice girl's name that finally made it all happen. We ask to sit outside because the weather is nice. We sit outside by a window that leads inside. The deck is filthy! Floor cluttered with dust, leaves, food and lots of dirt. What a broom would have done for this place! The window that we sat beside was filthy. Dust, cobwebs and spiders. Dead flies on the window bottom. It was so bad. I just moved to Gettysburg and live less than a mile from Sharpshooters. We decided to check out there Wed wing night (50cent wings). I noticed all these horrible reviews on Yelp and then remembered the South Park episode that accurately displayed the typical active Yelper. Basically self appointed "foodie" who has delusions of grandeur. Anyway, we were seated immediately at a booth near the door. The waitress was quick to take our order and did a great job of beer and food recommendations. They have a massive craft beer list. The wings came out quickly. They were crisp and a good size. I'm usually a traditional buffalo sauce guy, but the house special "combo sauce" won me over. It was great. These are were the best wings I've had in awhile. Crispy, large, not drowned in the sauce. My gf had the avocado and bean wrap which was also pretty great. I'm very glad I've learned not to take Yelp seriously and visited Sharpshooters anyway. Tip: check out the attached 6-pack shop. You can mix and match all the beers they carry on the menu. It came out to $12 and change for beers that would cost 5-6 bucks a piece in most bars. read more

The place was not even busy and they can't even count how many wings they throw in the fryer or use the correct sauce that was ordered. Update: Sharpshooters, now the Livery and the food is just as bad. Tried to give this place a second chance, but will not be back. The only thing that wasn't bad was my bottled beer and our nice server. The crab dip had good flavor but it was cold inside a warm bread bowl. The buffalo wings were dry and flavorless. Even the ranch was flavorless. The cooks should really pay attention to what their serving and at least try to make it good.. wings are pretty basic? Sharpshooters is a great little place to eat. They have a great breakfast which they serve all day (make sure to ask about it)! The restaurant is behind the Inn at Herrs Ridge and sits just off the NPS battlefield. The service can be slow but usually is friendly. read more
