Went in tonight to grab a drink and sat at the bar very briefly until my partner and I were notified by an employee that it was reservations only and that they had a waitlist. I've never been to a place with a bar that was reservations only. Heard they had a good old fashioned selection by a friend but I don't think we will come back because of this experience. There wasn't anyone watching the door as we entered and we were about to sit down to order a drink. There were quite a few tables open so that was a little frustrating but mostly because of the bar situation. I'm assuming this was an issue because of sushi neko seating in the lobby bar. Doesn't seem like the best use of the area because I assumed the Lobby Bar was the Lobby Bar and Sushi Neko was Sushi Neko but I guess not. Definitely didn't make us feel welcomed. This is a fun place to go have drinks after work! They have a nice venue with a good drink and wine menu. They do need to update their online menu because it's not up-to-date. But the ambience is chill and upscale and it's mostly quiet. They have local art and it's very cool and trendy. I think this will be an addition to my watering holes. read more

Just moved to the area and this place was close and the menu online looked good. I decided to try it out. After walking through the front door at 1 PM today and saw one or two other tables with people eating there. I was told by the man at the register to go next door to sign in at Sushi Neko. After doing that, I was walked back to The Lobby to sit at a table where I waited for 5 minutes to have my drink order taken. The employee who sat me asked if I wanted a paper menu or if I could just use the QR code on the table. I opted for the QR code, which took me to the same online menu I saw at home. The server brought me my drink and then asked if I wanted a starter, but I attempted to order something from the lunch menu. The server then looked confused and went back to the register to get a device. He told me that they didn't serve any of those items anymore and listed a few of the dinner entrees that I definitely didn't want. He informed me that the menu is basically switching to that of Sushi Neko's, so I asked to cash out and left. The server was very apologetic and offered to give me a to-go drink, but I was just interested in leaving by that point. None of the employees I interacted with did a bad job or did something wrong. I think that this place has definitely seen better days and is clearly transitioning into something else. They should have just posted something about the menu change on the door or on their website so people wouldn't be caught off guard and told the things they came there to eat just weren't an option anymore. The Lobby Bar is a slick spot to sip a cold one. With the mercury outside heading towards 90, I dropped in to wet my whistle on such a hot summer day, and the joint was exactly as I remembered the last time I was here. The cold black granite bar counter is perfect for sucking the heat right out of you. I was happy that they had Anthem's OK Pils (in a can) and Sidekick Dude got a Twisted Spike IPA (on draft). The menu looked good, but with me being on a liquid diet, I passed on food. I would definitely come back for a bite sometime, though. read more

Sat on the patio for lunch today - great weather and great choice of music. I had The tomato bisque soup, and the chicken brie sandwich - both together were good. My boyfriend tried the fried chicken bun - it was the biggest bun we have had in Oklahoma thus far. He thought it was delicious. I used to come here all the time a few years ago and still go here after dinner at Sushi Neko when I'm in the Nichols Hills area. The food here is pretty good, and they do serve the famous Red Canyon Roll if asked and a few other sushi rolls which is nice if Sushi Neko is busy. My bf usually gets scotch and a cheese course and I almost always get their chocolate torte which is AMAZING and probably the best dessert ever! However, last time I tried it, it tasted very different in a bad way so.. I don't know what happened to it even the creme anglaise had changed to a foamy consistency and the torte itself was just bitter and not sweet at all. Maybe, they accidently used salt instead of sugar and forgot to taste the batch that I got? Could be possible. Other than that.. I love the atmosphere here and would return again. read more

I went to The Lobby for the first time on a Saturday for brunch and it really made an impression on me! I had never been to this area of the city before and I thought it was absolutely awesome! This restaurant is right in the same building of the Will Rogers Theatre! And the vibe and decor of the theatre continues into the restaurant flawlessly. I loved all the art pieces on the wall! Pros: fried chicken steam bun. Delicious and perfectly fried and seasoned fried chicken in a steamed rice bun. The hoisin sauce and pickled vegetables make for a perfect bite. The seared tuna and Oklahoma dynamite roll were also excellent choices off the sushi Neko menu. Gyoza was good but nothing special. Also tried the tomato bisque and bean and bacon soup: both good. Chicken sandwich was also delicious. Cons: the pork belly ramen -- the noodles were way over cooked and soggy. The meat was hard and seemed like they were pan fried which was unusual for me. Will's Lobby Bar has been a home away from home for me for over a year now. I work across the street so I'm in there at least 2 or three times a day. The coffee in the morning is french pressed and they get their beans fresh ground from Elemental coffee downtown where it is roasted on site. For lunch and dinner I love their specials. Even though the menu is wonderful and includes several tapas options as well as some amazing sandwiches. I tend to always order off of the specials board. I kind of see their specials board as the "whatever-Chef-Matt-wants-to-play-with-today" board. It really highlights his talents as a chef and his brilliant flavor/texture combinations. Finally, if you are just in the mood for a drink there aren't finer bartenders in this town. Ask any of them for any cocktail you have ever heard of! I challenge you to stump them! I'm not sure why this sweet little spot in the center of it all doesn't factor more prominently in my roster. After running some errands last week, I motored in here for a quiet spot to sit and work for a while. This is the time of year when I feel an urgent need to soak up every last drop of sunshine I can find, and Lobby Bar's patio proved the perfect place to enjoy some Vitamin D, a glass of vino, and charge my laptop via some outdoor (!) outlets. Mama Mia! Christopher did a great job of taking care of me, but did not even enter my eyeline while I was on a call (props for that!). While I can only comment on the patio, the wine, the service and the electricity, I will certainly be back for more as soon as there's an opening in the skedge for some patio time. read more

For months I had been getting my Saturday morning latte at Will's (and then heading over to Savory Spice Shop to spruce it up with ungodly amounts of dark cocoa and lavender vanilla sugar). The butterscotch muffins are rich and buttery and oh-so-delicious. Make sure you have 3 or 4 friends to share with, or you will feel like SUCH a piglet. Oink. Chef Matt knows what he is doing and seems to enjoy it, occasionally asking guests to "just taste" a dish he is playing with (it's happened to me not 1, 2, but 3 times!). His dishes tend to have a kick- if you enjoy a little tingle on your tongue, the heat will suit you just fine. The decor is a little settled, but that's okay. After a birthday dinner, a few friends and I went here for dessert and some drinks. First thing we all thought when we walked in was, "mannn it's cold!!!" Luckily we all sat close to each other and after a few drinks, it warmed up a bit. A quick appetizer we had was the Neko Fries. We all enjoyed it a lot! It's fries covered in a sweet thick sauce but it didn't completely drench the fries so that's good. There were little cuts of jalapeño which was good also. It came with a creamy wasabi sauce. It wasn't spicy or powerful so don't worry! Definitely a MUST TRY!! DRINKS: Yuzu Spritzer - I enjoyed this a lot. Had two glasses. A bit sweet and sour but more on the sour side but don't worry, it wasn't overly sour. My friends tasted it and all said it had an "Asian" flavor to it lol. Osaka Sour - also a bit sour but not as sour as the Yuzu Spritzer. Make sure to mix it up tho! There is liqueur or something that sunk to the bottom. When we realized and mixed it, it tasted even better! They also incorporated egg whites which pretty much just made the top part frothy. Coffee - I don't usually like to drink coffee but I drank quite a bit of my friend's cup who ordered it haha. They give you a pot to refill so there's plenty to share. It went great with the desserts we ordered. DESSERTS: Espresso creme brûlée - I liked it but it wasn't amazing nor the best I've ever had. The portion doe. I loved! Lol it was a lot. I REALLY liked how they caramelized the sugar, it was thick and extra crispy! The creme brûlée's cream was ehhh...I felt like it was too airy and melted too fast in my mouth. I would have liked it to be a bit thicker and more creamy than as airy as it was. Chocolate cake - I'm not a fan of chocolate so this dessert was a bit too chocolate-y for me. It was really thick and a little hard. Like they just defrosted it not too long ago. I like sweet but I think this was too sweet for my liking but drinking the coffee and eating this was a good combo. Banana bread cake - I liked eating this and drinking the coffee. Wednesday night date night at the Lobby Bar. Live music with Justin Witte, if you have never heard him play you're missing out on a treat. The bar here is superb with cocktails a plenty and some unique wines. Service has improved and it is never loud. The food menu is semi vegetarian friendly with some lovely deserts. I highly recommend this place for a drink at the bar, a light meal, desert, breakfast or just a get together with friends. My husband got the ramen noodle bowl. 1. Seared tuna was hands down my favorite thing! Reminded me of a utensil-less seared tuna salad. Light, flavorful, and super tasty! Price isn't too bad but fulfilling. 2. Chicken bun was tasty too! Chicken was battered and fried, served on a steamed bun with cilantro, onions, and hoisin sauce. I've been a patron of Lobby for a very, very long time so it only made sense to celebrate my birthday with my favorite bartender, Micah. I met two friends and we ordered Neko Fries and champagne on my birthday and we reserved the bar area for a birthday happy hour later in the week. First of all, we didn't secure the venue until the week of since we planned to have a garden party outside, which I should know better to plan anything outside in April. David was so helpful in helping me determine what food to order and Micah, my favorite bartender, was super helpful in making me feel comfortable with the space. On a regular day, order Neko fries and any of the specials. Neko fries have magical dust sprinkled on top, making them impossible to stop eating. The wine list has something for every price range and of course, Micah is the best at recommending wines and making a perfectly crafted cocktail. read more

I love this place! I enjoyed some fabulous brunch with some great friends. Jodan was our knowledgable and chill bartender. I was pleasantly surprised with the limited but tasty offerings. Six menu items which isn't a lot but the quality is excellent. My friends and I sampled the breakfast sandwich. The huge croissant was light and flakey and the ham was cured in house. After some tasty cocktails we shared the grilled bananas with muffin ice cream and hazelnut ice cream. Yes, the ice cream tasted exactly like muffin. Did I mention that they make their ice cream in house? Cause they do. At a fancy place like Lobby Bar, one might expect to pay some steep prices but for our sammie's were under $4. I have never been to Will's when it is crowded. It does have this slightly arrogant feel to it. I don't know if its the fancy carpet and gold trim (theater next door) or the staff or what but I always feel like maybe I am not rich enough to be there. That said, the drinks are phenomenal and the food is stellar. It's a good place to go after work when you need a quiet little nook to chill out or to sit on the patio when the weather is nice. This was tremendously good. Its right around the area where I live and I was pretty unaware of it. It's in the old Will Rogers Theater, where I have seen many a concert back in the day. The building is beautiful and looks especially great since it was redone. We got there around 6, and it wasn't busy at all. We got an appetizer of dumplings which were very delicious. The sauce that came with it was a soy based something or other and it was salty but very tasty. My girlfriend got the short rib slider and got the hot as hell chicken sandwich. It was very hot; lots of peppers and what not. I did enjoy it, but i think i would get something else next time. The lighting is good. The seats are a bit hard but nice banquet seating. One large table and maybe eight smaller ones and a bar. Cured meats and cheese and sandwiches are on the menu. Three cheeses 1.5 ounces each for $9. Good selection. The hard french was very good. The stinky cheese was in the middle and was good but a bit strong for my taste. I can still smell it. Then a decent brie. Toast was way crunchy. Soft bread with thick crust would be better. The cured meat tray at $9 had some salami and salumi. Nothing impressive here at all. I have read some of the reviews and I can understand the disappointment some of the reviewers felt when they visit during day time on the weekends. This place can be quite stale, but I strongly encourage them to come back at night. The Lobby bar can be a hopping place in the evenings, and if you want a place to catch the Thunders game, or European Soccer League games, this is the place to go. I am still working my way down the menu, but if you are not sure you can always order from Sushi Neiko's next door as they would bring it over. also, if you are looking for a venue to host parties, the theater itself its pretty huge and I have seen very successful functions held here. read more

It's super dark in here. The menu is shared with Sushi Neko next door. The yellowtail special sashimi was good but the salmon appetizer could use a little work.
