We happened to be in the strip mall The Local is in and decided to give the place a try. The strip mall it is in doesn't do this restaurant justice. I forgot it was restaurant week and we have a marvelous meal from the restaurant week menu. My mahi with avocado relish was out of this world. The corn with peppers was so fresh it was delicious. The service was excellent. Our server had another server shadowing them. I will definitely be back and I am happy to recommend The Local. read more

This was always our favorite restaurant. Went for our anniversary and was quite disappointed. It was always more of an experience... now just another meal. In the past they would serve complimentary veggies and bean dip which was delicious. Waiter gave some excuse about sustainability and waste. I bought it until our meal came. Portions were smaller in regards to salad and the meal. The Cobia was just OK and sides were bland. They were out of GF cupcakes so no dessert celebrating for us. Live Action!!! This place is where it's at. I can't get enough of The Local. Every time I dine I am blown away with the culinary talent and the diverse selection of wines. I don't know where I would eat if this place wasn't open. They are always great specials such as my recent favorite, the locally caught fresh Cobia. Mmmmmm.... We went here yesterday, 1.27.17 at around 4:30pm. The atmosphere was good, service was excellent. Food was just "OK"...First off, they bring you "3" Menus....Why 3 you ask??....One was the specials, one was the "mix your combo meal menu, and the last was the regular menu.....My daughter and I both had the Vegan Burger...It was very good. They don't serve Fries there...(When I asked, they said, "We don't serve "Fries" here"....)...OK...... So I had nothing on the side but my daughter had one of the choices which was a RoastedCauliflower and Apple dish. My Husband had the gnocchi in Ragu dish. It was listed in the "Bucket list of Foods for Naples, Fl"...He said it was great. We probably won't go back but maybe give it a try yourself and see what you think..... read more

Came for lunch. Very busy. Service was a little slow but the food was delicious. A bit pricey for lunch but well worth the price. I had the roast beef sandwich which was very big and tasty. The side salad was excellent as well but after awhile the vinegar overwhelmed. Pickled green beans were better for decoration. The specials are supposed to be excellent and really there were no complaints except the double beef hamburger was small. Highly recommend eating here. read more

I came for lunch and got a trigger fish sandwich that was on special. Food was okay, nothing really pops. I like that they are crafty with their ingredients and different options. 2nd time I have eaten there for lunch. Prior time was a similar experience. Staff was real nice and quick. Dining and bar area is nice and updated. Very not Naples looking. Local craft beer selection is outstanding, enforcing the name The Local. Absolutely fantastic. Wonderful meals, superb wine list, great service. My husband and I stopped in for a pre-movie glass of wine and then had dinner reservations for after the movie. Loved the glass of wine (a decadent Zinfandel - Turley) so much we ordered a bottle with dinner. I had a kale and quinoa salad - best goat cheese I've ever eaten, by far - and one of their specials, a coffee and brown sugar rubbed skirt steak. Amazing layers of flavor. You can choose your sides - all amazing though next time I'll get the goat cheese mashed potatoes. My husband's meal (pork chop) was good but he said not amazing. Well made up for by the best pie (apple and strawberry) he's ever had, with THE BEST whipped cream either of us has ever had. We will definitely be back. read more

One star because the portions were tiny. I eat a gluten free diet, so was looking specifically for a local restaurant that was gluten free. The atmosphere was cool, and food presentation beautiful, and everything tasted delicious. However, it was overpriced, and the quantity of food actually left us picking up take out on the way back to the hotel (after paying a large bill) because we were still so hungry. To quote my dad "the portions were freaking me out! I kept thinking 'are you kidding?'" We are generally not the sort to leave bad reviews, but genuinely wanted to warn people about the portion sizes. read more

We had the ceviche tacos and the grouper special. The food was very tasty and the presentation was beautiful. The waitress was a true delight and we were very satisfied with our meal until we realized the price of the grouper was $32. The piece was 3 ounces or less. It was extremely overpriced, I have had grouper twice the size at the same price in Naples. We called the manager after we got home and shared our unhappiness over the pricing. She explained the price represented the finest quality grouper. Menu Selection: Poor Quality of meal: Unbelievably terrible Atmosphere: Loud, particularly the waiter who basically shouted, but unfortunately did not write our order down and brought 1 of the party beef versus chicken Value: Completely overpriced. Do not order the shortribs. All fat. They comped the meal that was not what was ordered but we paid $30.00 for a pile of fat. Gave us 4 free appetizer cards. Best meal I had in Naples. The fish was very fresh & prepared to perfection. I had their homemade pasta & it was wonderful. Our waiter was not only friendly but knowledgable about ingredients & preparation. He also suggested a red wine that I liked so much, I saved the cork. Yum! This place is so good we ate there three times in four days. Two lunches and one dinner. Loved everything we ordered. Being both gluten free and dairy free is a breeze at The Local. Especially enjoyed the homemade coconut dairy free ice cream and homemade lemonade, GF Spinach Salad, Lamb Sandwich, GF Pot Roast, House Lentil Soup, Burger, Pizza , etc. Great atmosphere. What a great a place. My wife and I had lunch here today and really loved. It was my first visit. I had a lentil soup and a lamb kibba burger and my wife had a turkey and Brie sandwich on gluten free bread. Ashley took great care of us. The best part wasn't even the awesome tasting food, but how good we felt after lunch....an obvious testament to their high quality ingredients. They have a killer homemade hot sauce. Homemade ice cream was so incredible. It's so hard to find a restaurant that serves the high quality fresh and organic ingredients we eat at home...The Local is it. The coffee was very good and I thought my tacos were pretty good. My boyfriend did not like his food at all. I would like to try this place again because of all of the great reviews. Came in for a quick lunch, and it was on their Taco Tuesday's. Two meaty tacos for $10, with a side salad. The blackened snapper was okay, too mildly seasoned. The shredded carnitas style pork taco was very wet, spicy, and messy to eat. The tacos come in double layered soft corn tortillas. I enjoyed the lightly dressed side salad. The bill came out to 37.00 per person including tip for basically a dinner size side salad and glass of house wine. We used to love this place. Tonight was a huge disappointment. I did not want grains or sugar. This was explained to our server. The cauliflower had breadcrumbs, so I didn't order that. The snapper on the menu did not say it was breaded, so I a ordered that. There were no healthy vegetables except for the cooked greens, so I had to order that. When I get my meal, the small piece of red snapper was breaded. I was able to pick out about 2 ounces of meat that was not breaded. The greens were okay. Also, there is sugar in their blue cheese vinegarette. Why? So, for an organic restaurant, they don't offer truly healthy selections. Too bad. read more

I have been to The Local several times, for both lunch and dinner. I have enjoyed it. Last night was not one of these times. The service was terrible, even though there were very few diners. The fresh vegetables that were served with the hummus were far from fresh. The celery was brown, the carrots dried out. When we pointed this out to our server, he picked the celery off the plate and put it in his apron. I ordered the Farm Plate, which is a selection of the vegetable sides. The one side was so salty I couldn't eat it. The roasted potatoes were hard and tasteless. Only one of the sections was decent. It was so disappointing. With so many restaurants to choose from, I won't be back to The Local. read more

Service was okay in the beginning. However, towards the end our server, Kathy, was very rude. My friends pancake was not cooked fully and the batter was still gooey. We politely sent it back and waited for a new one. The second pancake wasn't any better. Still gooey and undercooked. We asked her nicely to take it off the check. At the host stand, we heard Kathy tell her manager that we complained about everything and that we were very rude. I have been a server at a few different restaurants and I understand how it can be frustrating to deal with customers. But don't talk about someone if they are right in front of you. read more

I went here for brunch today, it was recommended my a friend of mine. The server wasn't very attentive. I had ordered a pancake and eggs. The eggs tasted fine, the pancake wasn't cooked in the center at all and was mush, it tasted like pancake batter so I sent it back and Kathy, my server, came back with another pancake and it looked fine on the outside but again it wasn't cooked all the way and was mush. I then asked for it to be off of my check and she went to the manager, standing at the host stand and told her. Our table was the closest to the host stand so it was very easy to hear my server, Kathy, lie to her manager saying that I complained about everything and that we were very rude and that wasn't true at all, I work in a restaurant also so I understand the business and that isn't how you treat customers. read more

Bland and boring.... We were hoping to love this place. I went with 5 friends - two were vegetarian. The options they had for lunch were either salad in a bowl or salad on a hard stale bun. One of my friends had a lamb sandwich which was virtually unseasoned, screaming for some spice! The pizza was ok, but like everything else way overpriced for what it was. Service was horribly slow, especially if you had anything to do in the afternoon, like go back to work! The "greeter" was extremely bored with her job btw.... Bottom line... WAY overpriced, my vegetarian friends' old bun with a few bits of salad in was $12! She wished she had got a foot long veggie sandwich from subway next-door and $7.00 change..... at least the bread would have been fresh! AWFUL! read more

This place was amazing. I can't believe it took us so long to find it. The spinach dip was a favorite of our teens. We had carbonara- the pasta is made in house, snapper, mushroom pasta, and avocado bowls. The sides were all delicious as well. We lived that they tried to use mostly local ingredients and organic when possible. The dessert was amazing as well - banana bread pudding and donut holes. The service was friendly and helpful. They should change the name of this place to the "local lemon," because I've never had more food laced with lemon then the meal I just had here. We had the lentil soup, which we South Asians call daal. The dish could've used more spice and some bread or rice to go with it. The wife got the grouper tacos and I got the lamb kibbeh. The tzatiki was spiked with lemons. I've never had tzatiki with lemons and have visited many middle eastern places. The meat was unseasoned, but I solved that by adding salt. The wife's fish was seasoned well but every garnish in the taco had lemon all over it. Which ruined the dish. The ambiance and wait staff was very good. The food is just lacking. The food was NOT good. My friend and I ordered fish tacos and could not eat them. There was no taste or blend of flavors and the fish was mushy -ugh! Snapper with cilantro pesto and side of greens was really flavorful. Pasta with tomatoes and shrimp was flavorful but had to add salt and portion size wasn't great (5 shrimp).
