The front of the house manager, Jacqueline was our server. She was knowledgable attentive and gave great recommendations. Everything was super fresh and delicious. Quite possibly the best restaurant in Naples! The Local changes their menu specials and ingredients on a daily basis. Every single one of the dishes I have tried has been amazing--from the ceviche tacos, to the avocado kung pow dish, to the Pork Ragu Gnocchi (literally melts in your mouth!) you just cannot go wrong! I enjoy restaurants all over the country, and was absolutely thrilled to find The Local in a mall setting here in Naples. We had my birthday dinner there last night and it was a pure delight! The server recommended the heirloom carrots as a veg option, and indeed I've never had better carrots in my life. I had "by-catch" swordfish, but was so distracted by how yummy the carrots and bok choy were that I the fish almost became a bonus. The co-owner, Jeff, also spent time with us explaining their creations and philosophy. After hearing about The Local countless times from friends I decided to give it a shot for lunch. I thought that there was no way this place could live up to the hype I had been hearing, but boy was I wrong. Despite the location, this place had a certain charm to it. I had the pot roast sandwich special and it was perhaps the greatest combination of flavors I have ever tasted. I'm curious why everyone is so in love with this place. Makes me very curious about the authors of the reviews. 1) make sure to ask what "market value" is. Holy expensive!!! I think one of the ladies in our group had grouper at market value and it was awful. I had a bite of it and it was defiantly no better than a sports bar. 2) the pasta one of my friends ordered with shrimp had four shrimp in it. If you put four huge shrimp that are nice and fresh , that's great but there were 4-6 mid size Publix quality shrimp in the pasta. That's no good. 3) the food took 44 minutes to come out. After 15 minutes waiting my friend started a timer on his phone. We ordered another bottle of wine and still had fun but what if we were a difficult group? 44 minutes? That's a bit much. The music and other noise wasn't bad so you could actually chill and enjoy a conversation which was nice. The upsides 1) the servers were awesome. Super nice. The granola hostess made every effort to make sure everyone in the restaurant was ok, poured more water as needed, servers and staff working as a team. 2) the layout is good. The decor is pretty cool. Great location right at pine ridge and airport. 3) depending if you're a pervert or not, you can see directly into the women's bathroom through the clear door that leads the guest into the bathroom area. 4) the bathrooms themselves are really nice. Very nicely done. Super classy. Clean. 5) the fixtures and decor was clearly thought about --- if you go in--- look up! It's cool. The remodeling is the coolest thing about this place. I love the fact that's is locally owned and run---- I can't stand chain or corporate restaurants. Bottom line -- to quote one of the women I was with that night there (everyone was scared to offend the guy that paid for our whole party by saying it was awful) she finally said it in the car, "I would have rather forced 6 blooming onions from Outback Steakhouse down my throat than attempt to choke down any of that "local" food again and it would have been the same price!" I've been coming here since they opened and have yet to be disappointed. I've tried most everything on the menu... you can't go wrong. For those who complain about price: it's locally-sourced and the highest quality you'll find... it's worth the money not just for the taste, but for the fact that you're supporting sustainability thru local farms and businesses. Stopped in here for lunch on a recent trip to Naples. Wow!! I loved the atmosphere. Our server was friendly and attentive. The use of locally sourced foods is what originally attracted us to the spot. I had a virgin Bloody Mary and it was delicious! I also had the roast beef sandwich, and it was DELICIOUS!! This is our 8th visit to The Local. Every time we have dinner or lunch at The Local we swear we are going to write our Yelp review. So now we are. We eat out regularly and have eaten at all the top restaurants, new and old, in Naples over the past umpteen years. We grew up in the business and know a thing or two about food service and quality of both. The Local is the hidden gem of Naples. Service is outstanding and there are no items on the menu that disappoint. For those of you who need suggestions the mustard crusted chicken breast is one of my favorites as is the kale caesar salad. Their specials menu is creative well priced and always delicious. The only downside is that they sell out quickly. The local also has a rotation of local craft beers and a nice wine list both by the glass and bottle. Being in a strip mall off of Pine Ridge Road may have hindered it's appeal to those who take location over food but for a true foodie thisbis If you have not tried The Local do so you will not be disappointed and like my family it will be one of your go too restaurants! Very disappointed, Pricey, small servings and after looking around the room and noticing no one had bread or crackers I asked if they served it. I was told bread was served on special request! For $14 I got the Brunch Monte Cristo. What a disappointment. the plate looked empty. A piece of bread (french toast) with scrambled eggs basically. Not even a garnish or slice if fruit....just a plate. $5 if you wanted Potatoes. Tasted ok but for 14 bucks I could have made it at home for 50 cents. Or gone to another place and got potatoes too for much less the cost. Service was good. Wont be going back. Way over priced for meh! read more

Went to The Local this evening and had one of our best meals we've found in the Naples area. The Spinach/Fruit Salad for me and Lentil Soup for my husband...both of which were perfectly scrumptous! For our entrees, I had Snapper, fingerling potatoes and sautéed veggies, all cooked to perfection. Hubs had Veggie Pasta (as he is vegan) and he loved the addition of the Oyster Mushrooms. It was definitely worth the wait to find this gem. Service was very good (we went early). Good options of drafts brews for my Hubs and I went with Prosecco, which was a good complement to my fish meal. We'll be back! read more

I understand the popularity of the place and really wanted to like it too, but my dinner tonight was pretty bad. The veggie plate that came out with the Hummus was more like vegetable shavings. It was kinda hard to use pepper skins to scoop up the hummus. My pork was overcooked and tasteless. The ratatouille was cold and the sweet potato slice was a joke. Reading these reviews, something makes me think we hit The Local on a bad night or these reviews shared an exceptionally rare "good meal" here. First, let me say that I am giving The Local two stars for the food, not the service. The service was suburb (which earns both of the stars); the food on the other hand was amateur at best. The bean dip to start had absolutely no flavor- it tasted like chalk paste. I had the snapper ceviche tacos and capellini with clams. The ceviche tacos had less than an ounce of snapper, yet an entire avocado in them. I spent $14 on an avocado, shredded lettuce, and four corn tortillas. I can do better at Publix. These tacos had no taste- none. I found one clover of cilantro on one taco. Next, the capellini with clams- I received mushy pasta (clearly overcooked) with about 6 clams. This also had no taste, but cost $23. The rest of the people I was with had the same opinion about their meals- tasteless, unseasoned, and boring. We all appreciate the "local, farm-to-table" concept of The Local, but wow was this place disappointing. To be honest, I cannot comprehend how The Local has such a high rating... this was easily the worst meal I've had in a year. I live in DC most of the year and I'm used to paying high prices, but usually high prices mean good food. Unfortunately such an expectation was not met at The Local. read more

I went here for the first time while visiting Naples last week. The service was great! Our server suggested two glasses of wines that we both tried and enjoyed. The staff is quite informed of how to help with food allergies. They made a gluten free, dairy free, onion and garlic free pasta just for me! I almost hugged our waiter, I was so excited! Thanks for making the extra effort and customizing my dish! Hope to return, next time I'm in town. (Only suggestion: maybe dim the lights a bit at dinner time... This was our first time here and it was a mixed experience. We sat outside which was nice enough until it started to get dark and they turned on the outside lighting. If I had a restaurant in addition to the food I would pay particular attention to ambiance, bread and coffee. The management at The Local must be totally insensitive to ambiance as the patio lighting was unbelievably bad. Too bright. Too many unmatched lights. They didn't serve any bread and we didn't have coffee so no comments there. Regarding the the food, I ordered a low priced cut of meat and fries as I had a taste for steak frites. They don't offer steak frites but I was trying to order something that came close and ended up with a cut of meat that was un eatable. I'll take the blame for ordering a low cost cut of meat and to their credit they took the meal back and did not charge me for it. The "frites" were perfect. My wife ordered the veggie burger and it was fantastic and there was enough there that we could share it and come away satisfied. I will come back if I ever notice that they've done something about the lighting. read more

I've eaten at the local 3 times now and have always enjoyed my experience. Once was for lunch, the second for a glass of wine, and the 3rd for dinner. The food is extremely fresh and healthy so it doesn't have spurge items like fried food but it does leave you feeling pleasantly full but not stuffed. The prices are responsible for Naples and the atmosphere is quant and has a relaxed foodie vibe. The staff was friendly and the waitress with the blue hair was stellar because she was sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. One of the hostesses was wearing booty shorts with her cheeks hanging out, we didn't mind too much and it was certainly a conversation piece for the table. I ordered a spicy pork soup off the specials menu and my usual, the low cal kale Caesar salad which I love because of the croutons and yummy dressing. My mother ordered the red grouper, mashed potatoes, and the roasted cauliflower and it was absolutely delicious. The mashed potatoes were so creamy and perfect complimented the fish and cauliflower. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the last time I ate here for lunch I ordered the zucchini cakes which were a bit bland. Not five stars because 3 staff members, one the manager, all provided divergent time frames in which I was to notify them when our 6 top would arrive to plane us in the waiting list some they don't take reservations. One told me to call 10 to 15 minutes in advance. One told me to call 10 minutes in advance and then when I called 10 minutes in advance they told me I had to wait 5 minutes and call again. What?
