My husband wanted a nice steak dinner for our anniversary and some place different. I found the reviews on Yelp to be very good and thought we would try it. Wow...it definitely did not disappoint! We made reservations 2 weeks in advance. It is a small place, but there were a few tables open and a bar area if you happened to walk-in. We were greeted with a warm welcome and glass of bubbly. Our waitress Tina was very informative about the restaurant and where they get their supply from (locally). They also support small businesses and woman owned businesses. The chef is also the butcher which we also thought was neat. So we started with the bone marrow appetizer and even though I wasn't sure about it, it was amazing. I got the petite fillet and my husband got the Porterhouse. We ended up getting the fingerling potatoes and mushroom/onions as shareable portions. They were both excellent! My husband saved some steak and sides so we could get dessert. The pumpkin pie was just freshly baked and needed to cool. They also had a German apple cake, but we got the cappuccino creme brûlée and it was amazing. I could have eaten a few of those just for dinner. Drinks were also very good. This was a pleasant surprise. I'm kinda a stickler for...things...and we had a great experience. The dry-aged streaks were on par with anywhere in town. I mean any-where. (Get over yourselves.) Opening night was a great first start for this wonderful addition to the Pleasant Ridge neighborhood. We ordered the petite wagyu tenderloin and cowboy ribeye with mushrooms and carrots as sides. The steaks were wonderfully cooked with the ribeye having a particularly noteworthy crust. The carrots and mushrooms were good. The mushrooms would have been perfect if they had some sort of sauce, perhaps butter, otherwise a little dry. The coffee ice cream was well-balanced. The drinks would have been at home in the neighboring Overlook Lodge, which is to say they were well made and tasty. Since opening night, I have been back two other times, one of which included several friends from out of town. Once again everything was great with the bone marrow side and NY Strip being big hits. Absolutely delicious. Had the wagyu filet, and it was incredibly tender, flavorful and amazing. My wife is a vegetarian, and also loved her meal. She had the Prairie Loaf (a vegetarian meatloaf, essentially) and we split the bib salad and fingerling potatoes. The pimento cheese appetizer was also a great starter. My friend and I visited here Saturday night. It is such a cute place and I loved the mid century decor. It is not very big, but there is outdoor seating. We sat at the bar, and the servers were fantastic. We both had the 8 oz filet and shared the au gratin potatoes. It was all delicious. Lonely Pine Steakhouse's mantra is to be a reasonably priced steakhouse that could compete with other high-end steakhouses. It is safe to say, they missed the mark. Unfortunately, we did not take photos of our dinner to share. Average check price for two people - $200. They advertise "sides to share" for an average of $8, which barely serve one person. Salads are much smaller than expected, also barely serving one person. Their version of a wedge salad was actually served with Lime Stone Bibb lettuce with bacon, tomato and blue cheese. Steaks were all bone-in (and we are unsure if it was advertised that way on their menu, who knows). Steaks were perfectly cooked once I got through the first three bites of gristle. Service was substandard. We had to open our own bottle of wine because our server was unsure how to do so. It didn't seem like we had much of their attention or else we were of low priority on their list. To end the evening, once we were presented the check, we were directed to pay at the front. Like Frisch's or Denny's!! At $100 a person, I expected more. Very disappointing, back to Tony's we go! Great quality, reasonable prices, creative menu. It's a small menu but everything we had was awesome. I'd rather have a limited list of fantastic options than a huge list of mediocre options. We both had the Wagyu filet. It was juicy and tasty. We tried two different compound butters and we both preferred the garlic butter over the mushroom butter, but both were nice compliments to the steak. We tried a Bibb lettuce salad and street corn as sides and both were delicious. Our bone marrow appetizer was the perfect beginning, and the desserts- omg- perfect ending. My husband had a scoop of Aglammesis ice cream and I had the featured creme brûlée. We left happy. Everything including bread is ala carte. The steaks were outstanding. Salads were large and shareable. Some sides were large and some not although all were called family style. Excellent desserts including home made ice cream. Good wine list. Average beer selection. Good service. The owner was present and made sure all is well. Parking on street and in lots. It's a really chic and unique restaurant with a "Manhattan" vibe if that makes sense lol. My husband and I went there last Saturday for a date night. We started off by having drinks outside but had to change to indoor after 10mins because it was too warm out. Food was well prepared. Atmosphere was great. Manager was really nice and stopped by a few times to make sure everything's good. My only complaint was our waitress was somewhat impatient the whole time and she seems like she was having a bad day. The cowboy was great, except we had to have it refired twice for being undercooked. We had ordered medium rare and it was very rare, particularly towards the middle. The sirloin cap was very tough, even at medium rare. Atmosphere was fun, but not sure we'll be going back with the current steak quality and prices. The visit to this restaurant as a first time diner was incredible. I was greeted warmly at the door with a glass of champagne to celebrate my arrival after a very long week of work. I immediately ordered a dirty martini just the way I like it and it was delivered exactly the way I like it. I ordered the cheapest cut of meat in their normal menu and it was amazing. It was also significantly cheaper than all other cuts which shows a very big range in price. My appetizer was the pimento cheese made in house. It was so good I purposely saved some to take home. I had their gourmet mac and cheese as a side as well as a very interesting snow pea dish that they had seasonally on the menu. They also had two other special steaks and one was a skirt steak that was significantly lower in price point than everything else in the menu. The point of that is to make this place is accessible to the public in any price range is possible and they do a great job of it. There's nothing stuck up about paying for a meal here. The wine that the waitress recommended for my steak was amazing and the bone marrow compound butter that was served with my steak was even better, at her suggestion. Their dessert menu was amazing but I didn't have any room left for it. This is probably one of the best secrets of food in the city and you need to come and see this place. My waitress, Jewell, was literally 60% of my experience with this restaurant and it was awesome. She's traveled, cultured, and very knowledgeable about her food and wine and the place that she works. You couldn't ask for a better package between the food and service. Just get down here and eat, you won't regret it. read more

Excellent service by Evan.! Not much else positive to say about the Lonely Pine. Pimento cheese appetizer was OK. My wife and I split a Ceaser salad, which was average - heavy on dressing, light on croutons and came without the advertised anchovies. The biggest disappointment was the steak, was not seared at all, too much dry rub, and lacking flavor compared to the other $55 steaks in town. We picked the cream corn side, which may have been the highlight of the night, but was not very flavorful. We gave desert a try too (Old Fashioned Cheesecake) but it was a bust. We sent it back, which has never ever happened to my sweet tooth before. The pricing seemed very high for the quality and value. I really wanted to like this place read more

Tried this place out tonight after passing it walking by a few weeks ago. No wait, always a plus. We had the sirloin cap, and the filet, along with fingerling potatoes and the asparagus. First of all the cocktails were amazing! Food came and it was delicious! Steaks cooked to perfection. Sides were scrumptious, we got a free side of Au-gratin potatoes and they were also stellar. The decor is really cool and it's more of a casual setting which is nice. Our server Evan was the bomb and everyone was so friendly. Definitely liked the more cozy setting. This is a little Hidden Gem in Pleasant Ridge a wonderful Steak House I had the petite sirloin asparagus augratin potatoes. Our server was Jessica she was friendly and offer great suggestions. We also had an appetizer of the shrimp cocktail. Jessica recommended a cocktail that was like a mint julep but it was a hint of cucumber made with gin it did not fail. It was rare since we ordered it for two, it already came sliced and did not want to send it back as it would have ruined the integrity of the steak; so that was quite disappointing. Wow! What a pleasant surprise! I am not one who seeks out a good steakhouse but wanted to support this new restaurant located in our neighborhood Pleasant Ridge. I was also concerned about the price and so I ordered the 4oz petite filet. With a few delicious sides, the amount of steak was filling and one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. It melted in your mouth and paired well with garlic butter and blue cheese toppings. We had a table of six and ended up ordering the following sides - green beans, carrots, onions, mushrooms, and au gratin potatoes. We ended up ordering a second dish of the potatoes because it was just so yummy and people couldn't get enough. Everything was fresh and hot and flavorful. Based on customer feedback they no longer provide counter service and have traditional ordering from your table which shows that Jacob (the owner) cares about the needs of his customers and wants to meet their expectations. We had a 45 minute wait, so we went to the Overlook for some cocktails. Jacob Trevino brought us over a complimentary appetizer to share while we waited! Don't let the price scare you.
