I had a couple of meetings over in Tri-Main so I figured I'd grab lunch. I wanted to keep it light as I was running around for the day so I went with a wrap. I got the buffalo chicken wrap and picked up a couple cookies to bring home. The food was great! The only thing about the wrap I would change is that they do ranch with blue cheese crumbles. From just a Buffalonian standpoint, get rid of the ranch and go blue cheese but it was still good regardless. Service was fast, and friendly. They put all of my food in a bag for me since my hands were full and I was thankful for that as well. The cafe has good vibes to it and it fits well in the Tri Main building space. Next time I'm back at Tri Main, I'll be trying some more of the menu here. read more

Shout out to the Italian flatbread sandwich. They were the hit of my work lunch. Wish I had stolen some to take home for an evening snack.

I visited Buffalo for the weekend and I stopped here for lunch as I was looking for a lunch stop and it was close to the FLW Martin Complex. For the price, the food servings were a great value! The sandwiches could easily be shared between 2 people, but they were so fresh and tasty. It was deceptive because it's in an office space and the parking was across the street. Still highly recommend for any one in the North Buffalo area! read more

Great experience! I was ordering for 8+ people and I was looking for something easy. The online ordering process was smooth and the food was ready to be picked up exactly when they said it would. This is not a stand alone restaurant, you have to go inside the building but there's a parking lot and I got in and out quickly. The jerk chicken sandwich with onion jam was great. The sandwiches were the perfect size. My crew enjoyed everything they got. Don't forget to order a cookie. Buttery goodness!!!! read more

A nice option for lunch inside the Tri-Main building. I was here for a meeting and started off with a small cup of coffee. There are comfortable booths for seating and wifi as well. The coffee options are only a "small" and a "large." No medium. I had a sandwich too, and got the jerk chicken panini a bit later and this was delicious. Spicy chipotle BBQ sauce and delicious smoked cheese. It was a delightful, yet small lunch. At $8, I thought the sandwich was reasonably priced. Great little place for lunch! The name really speaks for it's self. With the lack of food within the area this place is really convenient especially in the breakfast/lunch hour. It's also kind of the only place you can get coffee in the morning without leaving the central park area. It's located on the lobby floor as soon as you walk into the building. They have a mixed crowed between the young professionals, artists and students within the building, and some of the general public of course. It's actually pretty chill here they seem to get really busy early morning and noon for lunch. There is free wifi inside and plenty of outlets (if you need to charge your phone for a sec) along the wall of the booths. Plenty of seating space. They even have a few copies of The Challenger so you can read while you wait. They have a bar filled with prepped meals, salads, sandwiches and maybe one of their daily specials or two if you can't wait and need to really grab your food and go. I tried the Jerk Chicken sandwich first it wasn't horrible but it wasn't great. Chicken lunch meat served on panini bread, Gouda cheese, red peppers, and a sweet jerk sauce. The sauce threw me off it was just okay for me but I wasn't ready to write them off yet, maybe I just ordered the wrong thing it happens. I came back and tried the Old Fashioned BLT and it was good, pretty simple, fresh ingredients. The bacon was cooked to perfection... actually maybe I'll add more bacon next time,and hold the lettuce a little. Although the sandwich was under $10 the pricing was high considering the portion But I really have no complaints. I would order this again. The Buffalo Chicken Wrap wasn't my favorite. I'm more of a ranch person anyway in place of blue cheese so maybe I'm being a little bias. But for me there was way too much blue cheese and not enough chicken and hot sauce. At this point I knew I messed up and just should've started off with the salads they look and sound amazing! I love the iced coffee here! It's 3.75 (again pricing, sheesh) and they have all the works on the side so you can customize your coffee to your liking. Creamer, simple syrup, natural sugar cane, honey etc. The staff is super sweet. The food is healthy (and vegan friendly) there is plenty of seating, and it's pretty close to public transportation (Amherst train station, 8 Main bus, and the 23 Fillmore bus). Also the Trimain building has plenty of parking if your driving. I can't stress the location enough it is really nice to have this within the immediate area open as early as it is. When my office recently moved to Tri-Main, I was excited to have a place to quickly grab lunch in the building in case I didn't have time to pack something. So far I've had the chicken salad wrap and turkey avocado wrap and they're both great. For around $8, they are good size. Staff is always friendly and Ronnie even remembered my name after only the first couple of times I came in. They're always quick too, which I appreciate with limited time in my work day. read more

I've been to this place once, the food was satisfying but REALLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! When we ordered our food the lady had a big attitude and was rude. Wow. A large cafe plus kiosk and cafe location in downtown? This is the retail arm of a yummy catering company and the owner has ties to Globe Market. The Tri Main location serves quick lunch food (sandwiches, soups, and salads) that is delicious, fast, and fresh and work clothes friendly. Yeah....I'm a klutz and have on a few occasions gotten more food on my clothes than in my belly. So it's appreciated that the food here is delicious without the need to hide the fresh flavor of the ingredients behind heavy sauces or condiments. They buy local ingredients when possible and the bagels and donuts are made off site by a local baker. The cinnamon walnut and vegetable cream cheese spreads are fresh made at The Lunch Box. I heartily enjoyed the Smoked Gouda and Ham sandwich and will definitely be back to try the Chipotle Turkey Sandwich. I mean, c'mon, they use Chipotle Bacon Mayo in the sandwich...how did I not order both sandwiches and overindulge in whole grain goodness? The kiosk is located at the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus in the lobby of the Innovation Center at 640 Ellicott St. They are opening a new cafe at 465 Main St, downtown at the Lafayette Court Building. On a side note....ever wander into the Tri Main center? Um. I have. Today. By accident. Yes....in today's modern age of electronics, smart phones, and information this would seem an unlikely feat. Haha! Well I managed to mistakenly wander in there because I didn't use the aid of my smart phone and gps and threw caution to the wind. FAIL! At least I found this yummy find. read more

The food is so so. It looks better than it tastes from the few things I have bought there. My main gripe with the place is the prices are too damn high! most things range from $3.75 to over $8 dollars. The only fairly priced things in the store are a coffee and a bagel. They have a wide assortment of snacks that you won't see any where else most likely but unless you are rolling in the dough they are a must pass. I once ordered some egg salad sandwich that was something like $7 as far i can tell the only reason for this was because it was on chibtta bread, which might I add over powered the taste of the other ingredients. If they just used some normal bread the sandwich could have been $4-5 dollars probably. Everything on there menu is ridiculously high. The reason the prices are so high is because the only people that eat there work in the building. The only other food places near the tri main building are miles away. so they jack up the prices because when the snows come nobody is leaving the building. The first time I went I had their jerk chicken sandwich which I have to say he was a huge disappointment it was chicken lunch meat with some sort of jerk seasoning on it. The Parkside location closed. They do have a location in the Tri-Main building as well as a brand new spot at Tri-Co. I cannot write about the restaurant experience, but I can comment on the catering. Amy (owner and caterer) does an amazing job! I'm not sure how this has such few reviews! There is not much on this side of the city in terms of lunch places (without going through the chaos of Elmwood during the lunch hour). I do agree with other reviewers that some of the side dishes are a bit pricy (ie. 4.25 for a pearl couscous salad) but they are large portions and made fresh in-house. But if you are just looking for a salad, soup, sandwich, or combo, it really is inexpensive for what you get. The Lunch Box has incredible AND healthy options, fresh ingredients, and is super fast, especially if you call ahead. If you're looking for a quick lunch spot this is the place. Think Panera, but fresh, local, and 100 times better and not a chain. The cobb salad is my favorite. Their soups are incredible (homemade- the tomato basil and chipotle cheddar are to die for) and they have amazing side dishes ie. cous cous salads. Everyday they have very unique specials that range from Indian to Mexican cuisine (sounds strange in a place like this but it's not! They have vegan/gluten free options as well. The cafe itself is also a great environment, though I usually get takeout. A very busy place that you see all different types of people- white collar, blue collar, etc. Definitely give it a try!
