Decided to finally give this place a try. I was able to walk right in a get a table without having any wait. I had the meat lovers omelette with homefries and cheese grits. The omelette was very good and had lots of meat in it. My homefries were not as hot as I would have like but they were edible and I the grits were just average. I saw pancakes on other people's table and they looked really good, so I will be coming back to try them again. The service was very good and my food was made very quickly. This is a great, small, super casual diner style restaurant that does great comfort food including burgers and breakfasts. We came in yesterday and I ordered the chicken and waffles and also got a side of scrambled eggs. The boyfriend got the fried steak sandwich with hash browns. Both were amazing! The chicken on the chicken and waffles rocked and was super crispy. The boyfriend couldn't stop raving about his steak sandwich. It was HUGE and served on crispy, buttery Texas toast. Yum. Our waitress was on point and was there for any and everything we needed. She even offered us a coffee and Coke to go when she felt we were looking for refills but we're basically done. How awesome! The restaurant does what it sets out to do, and there are no additional thrills or decor to speak of outside of the lunch boxes. This doesn't bother me one bit, but I know some people want to go somewhere for the 'feel' or the decor. I only care about the great breakfast! I came here on a rainy Saturday and it was absolutely packed with a 15 minute wait. This is a cute, tiny little dive with limited parking (at least in the front when it's busy). We were able to get a spot then waited about 15 minutes. It was worth it. I got the waffle, eggs, bacon, and home fries while my bestie got the chicken fried steak sandwich with gravy and home fries. Everything was really good and came out fast although I became envious of some peoples burgers nearby so may come back for those! Service was great and our drinks stayed full. We also got some drinks to go. All together, our bill was $20 which is amazing for full bellies. I will definitely come back here again. I'm really happy I listened to the reviews. read more

Amazing place to get an early breakfast or brunch. We chose to pay $1 extra when told we would get local farm grown eggs. They were.... THE BEST tasting eggs ever. I had a ratatouille moment where I was transported to my childhood. My mom used to get free range eggs from the market place every weekend for the week's breakfast. I know eggs are something simple but they really were done to perfection and love. That's one of the things I loved from The Lunchbox. The vibe is so close and personal. With service being so kind and prompt. It is a Tallahassee jewel that I feel I should be selfish about and not share just from how good they are... but that wouldn't make sense If I wanted them around forever! read more

A Tallahassee gem! Old gas station turned breakfast/lunch diner. It's small, but the food is good. When the students are in town, it's very busy, but it's worth the wait. Cold coffee COLD food had to get a second waitress to bring the cold food out and a coffee and water refill. Small location, but cute setup feeling like a true diner would minus the booth tables! We were sat down quickly with drink and menu items ordered in less than 10 minutes. Food came out at a decent speed being that the kitchen has room for 2 people max. My friend and I ordered the Monster Wrap with him getting a side of the cheese grits as well. Our wraps were tasty, especially with some ketchup and/or hot sauce on them. My friend said that the cheese grits were average, but other than that, the service was fantastic and the prices were fairly reasonable. Would definitely go back again, but their "limited" menu would have me looking at other breakfast spots first. If you're okay with typical breakfast items for a reasonable price, come here, but if you're looking to kick it up a notch, I would consider somewhere else. read more

This is my boyfriend and I's go to spot for breakfast. There is something for everyone here. They have great breakfast foods and lunch options. I think they are most well known for their burgers. The space inside is kind of tight but it's decorated with, you guessed it, lunch boxes. Really cool lunchboxes. The servers are amazing and are super helpful. We always ask for Bianca when we go. I have high hopes arriving here which straight away took two massive hits. Trying to park is atrocious! The lot is tiny and at an angle which makes getting in difficult. Especially if others are coming or going. You just can maneuver at all. People were making their own spots. I lucked out and was able park after circling back onto the road. If the parking lot was small, the inside of this dinner is even smaller. Staff and patrons were climbing over each other and it was packed with zero limiting of customers. Staff had masks out front but not in the kitchen. Tables were so close people had to move to let anyone pass. There is a small alcove in the back corner with 4 tables alone right next to each other. I should have left at this point but they were able to seat me at a table I felt comfortable with and I had come this far. I ordered the Lunchbox Special, 2 eggs, hash browns, choice of meat, and toast for $7. A coffee was added for $2. I asked for sausage and had a choice of patties or links. I went with links. What I got was kielbasa (see picture). The food itself was standard to below. Nothing special. For as much hype as I saw, the best part of the experience was the retro decor with old lunchboxes hanging everywhere. Some really cool ones at that. They also gave me a coffee to go as a refill. Took fifteen minutes after being seated to take my order. Forty-five minutes after that, my food finally arrived. Two eggs, two strips of bacon, and two biscuits with gravy. The biscuits were horrible. Gut bombs. Couldn't even eat half of it. Eggs mediocre. Bacon was good. I find it incredible that it took 45 mins to cook two eggs and two strips of bacon and then put two pre-made biscuits on a plate with some pre-made gravy. I will never eat here again. Waffle house is better and doesn't waste your time. Bait and switched me on the price of breakfast as well. The kitchen staff is incompetent. read more

My wife and I stopped by on a Saturday Morning. The atmosphere was welcoming and we decided to sit outside. I would give the food a B- which isn't to bad. My steak was a little on the rare side when I ordered it medium. I was able to power my way through it but someone else who may have been sensitive to the cook of their steak would have had a heart attack. I could tell they didn't want to overcook it. I ordered my eggs soft scrambled and they came out scrambled harder then I would have liked. The corn beef hash was pretty good, but I've had better. Our server was attentive and such a sweetheart but I think the best part about the lunchbox was the the classic diner atmosphere. The parking lot is a mess, so hard to find a spot. The wait was short, but the place is so small that there is no place to stand when you're waiting. We felt in the way as staff kept moving around us to fill drinks and grab orders. Still, once we were sat down, the meal was great. I got the French toast with banana and sausage link. The links were a bit burnt, but the eggs and the French toast were so good. It's a good amount of food for what you're paying. Our waitress was great. We were eating on a time limit because one of our party had to catch a bus out of town, and they got the food to us quickly. I had never been before, and I wouldn't say it's the best breakfast place in town. But I enjoyed the food. read more

Probably the best diner in talllahasse. The building was an old gas station converted into a restaurant. It is very divey and cozy, giving it a great atmosphere. Came here around 8 am on a Saturday morning and there was no wait to be seated. The restaurant is pretty small, but there are some tables outside too. I started with an iced coffee (I love that they serve Lucky Goat coffee). I ordered a grilled vegetable wrap (trying to be healthy) off of the lunch menu with a side of homefries and my boyfriend ordered the monster wrap. The food took about 20 minutes to get to us and we were starving. The grilled veggie wrap was unimpressive and pretty small for an $8 wrap. It had spinach, broccoli, mushrooms, and onions in it. Sadly there was no sauce on it, so it was lacking in flavor as well. The tortilla was also completely ripped open when I got it which made it difficult to eat w/o everything falling out. I did really enjoy the homefries though! They were perfectly crispy. My boyfriend was satisfied with his monster wrap. I probably should've ordered something off of the breakfast menu instead of the lunch menu... I guess I learned my lesson for next time. I'm giving 4 stars because our server was very sweet and the place is cute. I liked all the vintage lunchboxes hanging from the ceiling. I went into your restaurant on today and ordered from the breakfast menu. I've been here many times before and have never had an issue until today. a young woman took my order and as she began to box up another customers to go order she licked her hands to grab a plastic bag then proceeded to place their food in the bag. This young lady opened the boxes to continue filling the order. I then asked for my money back. I let her know that I watched her lick her hands grab a customers food and bag and not care about the health of the customers at all. Her response to me was what did she touch? she then said that all she did was lick her hands for the retrieval of the plastic bag to place a customer's food into. I told her verbatim "that is disgusting" you work in an environment of food where customers are ingesting food products and cleanliness should be your top priority. This young lady really tried to argue with me about why it was ok to lick plastic bags and grab customers food products. I got my refund and left. This was horrible behavior and service. I will be contacting the health department. This establishment must do better. read more

Great little spot for breakfast that so t break the bank. Not a lot of room, but the two girls serving keep everyone served quickly. I hate limp bacon and half cooked hash browns, so I asked if I could get them both extra crispy. The kitchen delivered in spades! For $1 more you could get their own eggs from their chickens. This can take some time. I drive by Jenny's Lunchbox almost everyday going to work and a friend of mine suggested we try out the place. If you have read my reviews, you know I don't turn down a new place to try out. Plus they have a All You Can Eat Pancake's promo and if that doesn't bring you in you must be lost. Our server was great from intro to finish. I was also very excited to play Pokemon Go at the restaurant because a gym is placed on the GPS (Team Mystic). The menu was traditional with it's content but the selection incredible. For some reason the taste of each dish took you back to the classic dishes like burger and fries, omelettes, eggs/bacon/toast/pancake, sandwiches, and desserts. Things you would put into a lunchbox! And if you love coffee they serve our famous local Lucky Goat Coffee both hot and iced. I am a big fan of places that keep tradition going even though things change rapidly. Tallahassee being the state capital has many places with historical value and if you want a Throwback type place with amazing flavor, I suggest you try this place out for yourself.
