Their OG Beef Noodle Soup came with their braised beef shank, mustard greens, tomato, and bok choy - all the elements I am looking for in a beef noodle soup. I did have to add an egg though, for an extra $2, which was unexpected and a bit of a let-down for me. Their braised egg wasn't as flavorful and it seemed a bit dry in fact. I do love eggs especially with my noodles, and sometimes it can even be the star, so it was sad to me it didn't live up to be the $2 I paid. But that's okay! I would just come back here for just their fresh hand-crafted noodles - they are just that good! Like most of the restaurants at the market, I paid upfront and got a buzzer. It was ready in about 5 minutes and served hot and ready to dive in! The portion is huge so I even got to take about half home to enjoy at another time. I tried the OG Beef Noodle Soup hoping it would taste like the ones in Taiwan, but as a Taiwanese myself, it tasted nothing like the distinct flavor of traditional beef noodle soup in Taiwan. If I have nothing to compare it to, it's a really good soup, very tender beef, and has qq noodles. However, was a bit oily and a bit of ma la (numbing) spiciness. The soup is very flavorful, tastes closer to Indian cuisine flavors to me though. The soup consistency is slightly thicker and murkier than what I expected. Personally, I would add more of the mustard greens. I ordered over the phone, super easy, friendly staff. Only took 10 minutes to prepare. It was ready right when I got there. I wish plastic wasn't used as the containers, especially with hot soup. I appreciate the paper bag though. The food quality is great but just not the Taiwanese flavor I know and love.

LA SATAY was set up there, along with a few other food vendors. ALL the lines were long so we just decided to choose LA SATAY because it looked shorter than Marine Satay. We waited in line for 2 hours and as we finally neared the front, one worker said they were running out of meat so we might not get to our order. He said we could order but would refund us if we didn't get any food. I told him we were in line for 2 hours and missed most of the Indonesian Night Market shows and events and the best he could come up with was to put hands up with a shoulder shrug. We ordered with the female owner and I expressed to her our frustration. I told her we waited in line for 2 hours and missed a lot of the events and she apologized. She said the event did not supply them with electricity so they had to use a generator that ended up malfunctioning at some point I guess. I would hope a well run business had contingencies such as a back up generator and/or an additional battery. Also, I would assume a well run business would know their inventory and to give guests in line a warning PRIOR to waiting up to over an hour that they may run out of food. Further, if something goes wrong because of poor planning, I would fully expect the business to take accountability and offer the customer an incentive such as a discount at time of purchase or a gift card or something to make things right. We ordered and people AFTER us began getting their orders. Mind you, they ran out of tofu so all the orders were chicken plates so they were all the same. We complained that people AFTER us were getting orders before us and all the workers seemed confused and overwhelmed. We waited 30 minutes to finally get our orders and the chicken was COLD, BURNT, DRY and had NO flavor. The rice was between cold and warm. We didn't get any shrimp chips because they ran out. And I was surprised that their portion was really huge. I had to take home some of the Fish Katsu. Prices of their food was averaging ~$20 (with tax). Service was outstanding. You get soup, a cabbage slaw salad complete with a creamy sesame dressing, rice, and an insane amount of chicken katsu. They also give you a vat of curry on the side, as well as katsu sauce. The katsu has the perfect amount of breading and the chicken is surprisingly very moist. I really enjoyed their curry which, unlike other places, didn't taste like the standard boxed curry. For under $20, I had a really tasty snd enjoyable meal. I will definitely come back to try other things on their menu. Highly recommend - great food at even better prices.
