    Sliced brisket sandwich $13
    Michael R.

Locally owned, full of Texas charm. Probably the best Brisket I have ever had, better than Pappas or Rudy's, a peer of Dickey's. Daily specials during the week. bbq baked potato was totally unique, they battered and deep fried the whole thing!

Came here lunch time on Saturday. Ordered 3 meat plate with Cole slaw and green beans. Children had chopped brisket and mac and cheese. The 3 meats I got were: Sliced brisket - Came with two slices. One slice was fine, the other slice was just of the fat cap of the brisket. Was a shame. 3 out of 5 stars. Pulled Pork - was dry and under seasoned, it had a nice crust though. 2 out of 5. Rib - The Ribs were good. I enjoyed the meat ratio on them. And the flavor was nice. 4 out of 5. Cole slaw - taste was good, I enjoy a vinegar based slaw. Green Beans - were sweet, almost as if maple syrup and brown sugar were ingredients. Just not what you'd expect. My daughter's chopped brisket was too spicy for her to eat. I feel that for children's you would have something less spicy. The staff is helpful and pleasant. Ownership so kind. Restaurant clean and tidy.

You can see the thickness of the skin from the reheating over and over!! It's dried out and just not good at all.

The food is good, not great! the restaurant is kind of boring--just an open room with not a lot of decorations. We went for the first time and it was like pulling teeth to get information about the food and restaurant.

Ordered take out from here and the food was good. The service was good too. Brisket bombs were out of this world. Every was seasoned well and tender as can be. The kids loved the Mac. We even had an Oreo and cream pie slice. Everything was a hit with us. The decor inside definitely gives the Texas bbq feel. Looking forward to being able to dine in soon.

By far the best bbq and bbq sauce I've ever had. It wasn't too busy which made it easy to order and got our food out at a timely manner. Highly recommend, feel like you're at grandmas house

Made with fresh purple onion, the batter was golden crispy and mimicked the crust of a chicken fried steak.

We started with the Deviled Egg Flight because I'd never seen deviled eggs featuring Pork Belly and Mexican Street Corn. The flight included three of each, which worked out perfectly since there were three of us. The Mexican Street Corn version packed a little extra kick, but the Pork Belly version stole the show. Honestly, I could have made an entire meal out of those eggs alone. Since it was lunchtime, I went straight for the Pork Belly Reuben Sandwich. I make it a point to try every restaurant's version of a Reuben, but never in my life have I seen corned beef replaced with pork belly. Yikes... I'm drooling again just thinking about it. You owe it to yourself to try this sandwich. It just might be life-changing. (And yes, I'll definitely be back.) My wife ordered the Giant Meatball Pasta while my mother-in-law enjoyed her favorite, the Crab Cakes. Both received enthusiastic thumbs-up reviews. In fact, half of that enormous meatball ended up making the trip home so it could be savored again later. The dessert menu nearly caused a family disagreement. My wife settled on the Piña Colada Tres Leches while Mom chose the Crème Brûlée Cheesecake. Although both generously offered me a taste, my samples were limited to very small spoonfuls. Judging by the fact that both caramel-swirled plates were scraped spotless, I'd say the desserts were a hit. By the end of lunch, both ladies were on the verge of slipping into a food coma, so I dutifully volunteered to take them home. If you're craving exceptionally well-prepared, delicious food, you owe it to your taste buds to stop by Oscar's Bistro. From appetizers to dessert, everything we tried was memorable, and it's the kind of place that has you planning your next visit before you've even left the parking lot. Three enthusiastic thumbs up from our entire table.

I can at least say that Mikki was a great server both times and very personable. The major issues this time were with the biscuits and hash browns. I got a western omelette with hash browns and a biscuit, while my mother got eggs Benedict and my father got a ham and cheese omelette. The biscuits are very dry and crumble apart, and because of this none of us were really able to eat them. Our hashbrowns were all different levels of doneness, but all were generally underdone, with my father's being pretty much uncooked and given a general sear. My own were lightly crispy, but the insides were somewhat raw. My mother's were at least almost completely done and had a decent crisp. I can say that at least the omelettes were alright; your standard omelette that you'd expect for a breakfast place to do. I enjoyed my omelette. Again, this place is good! I just don't know what happened this time. Perhaps there's a different chef in the kitchen. Our pancakes and biscuits/gravy from last time were quite tasty, though even then the biscuits were still pretty dry; the gravy helped though. Also, the inside looks absolutely adorable but whoever was managing the music had questionable choices... hard rock at 10 in the morning is a strange choice, even stranger is a bluegrass cover of Thunderstruck by AC/DC. It was all a bit strange and out of character for this restaurant. But I will say that Mikki was the one absolute good part, and I appreciated her service and attentiveness. Perhaps we'll come back again sometime and hopefully our preferred cook will be there.

It was pretty dead, Sunday evening and all. Waitress tells us we can sit anywhere we want, so I ask my boys do they want to sit inside or outside and they were taking a minute to think about it when the waitress decides to pipe in and tell us it's not a trick question. No $@!?, Sherlock, thanks for your input. It was rude as hell. We decide to go ahead and stay inside, so we take a seat. Live band is playing outside, they were really wonderful. They were finishing up their set at the top of the hour. Different waiter came over, young man very nice. Service from him was overall good, he did go and standoff and talk with his coworkers for longer periods of time with his back to us. Had to call him over to come take our order and for the check. There was only one other person there beside us as a patron. Food, I was expecting better. I ordered a very simple grilled cheese, it came out quite burnt, but the fries were good. One of my boys ordered the bacon burger, he said it was OK-mid at best, but nothing beyond that. The other ordered the chicken fried chicken, which he devoured all of it! He said the salad was good as well. I had expected there to be a greater drinks list option, but there was not. Not sure that I'll ever go back again, was really a letdown. I imagine this can be fun with maybe a larger group of people when you're out to have drinks and enjoy some live music.

The owner apologized saying that no business owner wants to turn away business but it would be a long wait. We went elsewhere but showed up the next night and got the last table in the place. There was a singer, Chris, who was pretty darn good!! We enjoyed his music and his stories. I asked if he knew any Statler Brothers songs and then realized my taste in country music was formed in the 1970s and 80s. Before he was born! But he found one and we loved hearing him sing Counting Flowers on the Wall. He did great at Johnny Cash sings also! They have beers and wines and flights available. My family all enjoyed a few beers and I had a sangria. The burgers and salad were pronounced delicious and I had fish and chips. I'm sure it was commercially made and from the freezer, but actually very good. The fried pickles were better than I'd thought they'd be and the cheese curds were yummy. I got up to use the restroom and a man and his wife were there ( hallway) at the same time, and, he said to her, "Honey, come here you have to see this." They both laughed and I was not gonna miss this so I asked if I could look. Check out my picture of the urinal in the men's room. And what's on the wall opposite it!! We talked to the owner who was so very sweet and friendly. The menu is a hoot to read and the atmosphere is a fun Texas bar. It made for a really fun evening! We will be back next time we visit the family. If you are in the area, go and have fun!
