We just ate, for the first time, at The Melt in Danville. My wife and I both agreed that our burgers were the best that we have ever eaten. As we ordered, we mentioned to Dante that it was our first time being here. Dante, who was very friendly and welcoming, told us that we would be very happy that we chose to eat at The Melt this afternoon. He was totally correct. My wife ordered the original burger with sweet potato fries and a chocolate milkshake. I ordered the shroom burger and regular fries. When the meals arrived we were shocked at the size of the burgers. They were much bigger than we had anticipated. The bun was soft and freshly grilled. It had seemed that they had just baked the bun. The toppings were fresh and delicious and the burger nearly melted in our mouths. My wife and I have been aficionados of Fuddrucker's for quite some time, but we have to drive to Concord since our Dublin location shut down some time ago. Now we won't have to, since The Melt has become our favorite hamburger restaurant. We told Dante, the manager, how pleased we were with the food and staff. He was thrilled. The two stars is because the wife liked her burger. Sweet potato fries have an odd seasoning to them which was not enjoyable. Regular fries were ok but also overly seasoned with some green herbs. Service wise, went to ask about their Melt sauce and dude behind the counter was not thrilled I had a question as he'd prefer we order on the kiosk. Which we did and that had more personality than what I'm assuming was the manager on duty. If so, he should go. Melt sauce was described as a thousand island style sauce. It's not. My husband and I stumbled across The Melt in Danville. We enjoyed our dinner and service. We told some other family members to join us a few days later. Everyone loved their meals, Mom had the Cobb salad, my son had a spicy chicken sandwich with fries, my brother had the Swiss and mushroom sandwich, my husband had a classic chicken sandwich, and I had the Mac and cheese and the tomato soup. I had heard about this place at a different location. I went to try this out once I heard it opened in Danville. The interior is very nice and is located by Trader Joe's. The Melt just opened up in Danville next door to Trader Joe's. They are open late and brings great burgers, sandwiches and Mac n Cheese to San Ramon / Danville. Tried the patty melt and the garlic chicken Mac n Cheese late night. New clean open set up. Order at the kiosks and get a pager. I love the Swiss shroom chicken burger, super juicy and delicious. My husband got the classic grilled cheese and we split a garlic Parmesan fries. The soda machine had good options, however the ginger beer needed more syrup and tasted just like club soda. The orange soda was definitely the best. Wait for the food was kind of long but I thought it was nice they have a tv screen with the order numbers that were next up so you can track your order. Could have been seasoned more with salt & pepper. A 1/3 pound, it was more than ample. With melted cheddar, the bacon was soft, and mine was supposed to have crispy onions (and custom, lettuce) for which both were missing (needed it for texture, a "crunch"). The artisan bun was good, not great. 2. Parmesan garlic fries [$5.49, 4.0 stars] -- These were good. Well-seasoned, garlic bits, and shredded parm. If I had to choose 1 food to eat forever, I would choose rice. But I would get a melt on the side. The food is rich and heavy... soul food. But it may also hurt your cholesterol levels. The great thing about this place is that it's open until midnight, in a town where everything seems to shut down around 9pm. the service is quick! Welcome to Danville! The Melt just recently opened a location right by the TJs. We stopped by for lunch and we're surprised at how huge the grilled cheese sandwiches were. My husband ordered a patty melt and I had the Mac daddy which is a grilled cheese sandwich filled with Mac and cheese. Next time, we plan to share a sandwich and fries because we have small appetites. They also offer refillable artisan sodas and various milkshakes.
