This place is a COVID disaster!!! I was really disappointed with my visit :( not only did I have to wait half an hour for my food but I was also missing items!! I noticed one of the guys without a uniform was placing pickles on the trash can this is disgusting! The employees were not changing gloves they touched every single item of food with the same gloves!! People were packed shoulder to shoulder and on top of that some customers didn't even wear there face mask!! I was afraid to even get my drink people were touching there face and touching the soda dispenser I will defiantly not be returning to this place again!!! read more

Such delicious food. I got the patty melt and added jalapeño and the meat was cooked perfectly. Perfectly medium rare and such gooey delicious cheese. The staff was so helpful and pleasant and gave great recommendations. A small place that may be looked past at first glance but you won't be disappointed. read more

I gave this place 3 stars because everything was just average. We ordered the Meltburger, pattymelt, sweet potato fries and the original mac and cheese and we paid $22.xx. The mac and cheese was for my kids and they were not a big fan, my 7 year old rated it 2 1/2 stars. My husband had the pattymelt and it was good but lacking something special about it. The sweet potato fries were so forgettable I had to edit this post because I forgot about them. On a better note I ordered the Meltburger and would definitely come back just for that. read more

Upper mgmt contacted me to try to make things right. I appreciate the gesture and professionalism. I revisted this location and did notice some positive changes. They definitely improved their customer service by hiring new employees in the front. I didn't wish for anyone to get fired. I hope they are getting retrained. I would give it a solid 3.5 stars. Stopped in here after visiting Pretend City with our son this morning. I got the party melt, hubby got the mission spicy burger, and my son had the kid Mac n cheese. The food came out pretty fast and everything was delicious! My only gripe was no diet soda options! I know it's all natural and whatnot but as a type two diabetic that can't have regular pop that was a real bummer. Other than that the food and service was great! Will be back. read more

Place very good! Had the "egg-in-the-basket" very good! 100% i wanted the "philly" but its prefrozen meat with onions! How do I know? I asked for a small amount of onions (not too big a fan) and the gentleman at the counter said; "we cant, it comes premixed." TRANSLATION = FROZEN so I let it go and went with the egg in the basket! At first I had high expectations for this place because it was an interesting concept and I was in the mood for some "upgraded" version of a grilled cheese sandwich. I was in the area so I thought Id try it. The people behind the counter were nice. We ordered a Patty Melt combo. The menu didnt put a price for a combo or how much it would be added to the original sandwich which was annoying- I didnt find the price until I saw it on the reciept. The outcome was around $15. I was shocked but I assumed the fries would come in a large amount and the drink was going to be good (they claimed they had a "healthier" version of cola or whatever). I dont think $15 for a measly sandwich is fair but I decided to go with it since I was already there. After trying to find a seat, I found the floor was disgustingly sticky. I don't know if anybody cleans the floor because it was just disgusting. Keep note I was here around 12 (lunch time) and id doubt enough people would be around during breakfast hours to make the floor that sticky. It was very disgusting to walk around and even sitting down that it made me already lose my appetite. I got my drink- "the healthier cola" and it didnt even taste that good. I was starving but it was already at a bad start so I didnt expect much of the food and I was right. The fries serving was so small and the sandwich's cheese wasnt even thoroughly melted. I read a review before about the melting issue but I had assumed by the time I stopped by they would have fixed that issue- guess not. The fries were plain and had some parsley or whatever on top?? I dont know if that even made a difference. $15 for some fake Cola, a few fries, and a "Patty Melt" that failed to have MELTED cheese??? One positive thing though was that after melting the cheese (at home), the overall sandwich did taste quite good. I was already starving so I decided to just go with it and eat it. I had just gotten my braces so my teeth hurt a lot. Therefore, I needed utensils to cut my food. I dont understand why they dont put the utensils by the drinks for easy access so I had to go to the counter and ask for a fork and knife. The guy back there wore gloves but they were oily so he handed me oily utensils. I didnt bother asking for new ones since my expectations already dropped. I wiped them, ate some of my sandwich, which didnt impress me, got a wrapped my remaining sandwich in tissue, asked for a bag and went home (i didnt have fries to bring home because i finished it in less than a minute because of the lousy portion sizing). Overall, dont come to this place if you want a grilled cheese. The floors are sticky and disgusting, the food is overpriced and not properly labeled on the menu, portions are small, and the workers could use more training. read more

The service here is always quick and friendly. I highly recommend the Mac Daddy, so cheesy and good. The natural sodas they have on offer as well are very refreshing. Would highly recommend eating here if you are ever near the Irvine Spectrum. read more

me and my boyfriend cam here to eat and his burger was completely RAW. i know some burgers can be pink and such but this was like health hazard raw. i dont know what kind of people they have cooking here but im serious dont eat here unless you want to be sitting over your toilet puking. i even gave them a second chance instead of asking for a refund and one of the employees drops it on the couner and pushes the burger over to me. literally how the hell do you act inappropriate to someone that you just gave a raw burger to. i dont know about her but i would be apologetic. literally disgusting. spent 26$ and didnt even eat it after bevause we lost our appetite. read more

This first time to the melt was great at the spectrum. The great gooey ness of the cheese and the garlic or sour onion sprinkle on the nice crispy bread. I also like the fact that they had free refills for the three fountain drinks. If I had to go to a restraint for a great dinner it would be here. read more

This spot is nice for that sunset evening food vibes, a specially with Irvine spectrums lights and beautiful scenery, all employees followed health procedures with mask, and the cashier also had nice friendly welcoming, I got the names of who was working the're we're all friendly (Kyler, mana, Wendy, Abby, alyze). They we re so helpful on what to choose. And recommendation. The order came so fast and was surprisingly delicious and I had steak and cheese melt. So Whoever is new to the melt, all the employees are very welcoming, and the food just smells so good. It's great place to try something cheesy in your diet. read more

I agree with several of the reviews. When I entered the restaurant, I was filled with excitement to experience THEIR superior sandwiches. Unfortunately, it was a significant let down. My bread was hard and overcooked and more importantly, like the old Wendy's "Wheres the Beef" commerical, I kept saying to myself, "Where's the cheese!!!???" Came here tonight with the family while at the Spectrum. We have been here once before and the first time was much better. Tonight the bread for the grilled cheese was a little stale and the food was a bit on the cold side. It is also a tad pricey for what you get. The food needs to go out fresh and warm when you are paying this much for a grilled cheese sandwich. Cool place in the spectrum food court. I couldn't resist and used the iPad to order since there was a short like at the register. I had the shroom burger and Mac and cheese. The burger came with a few pieces of spinach which added a nice texture and making it seem like it was a healthy burger which I'm pretty sure it's no healthier than a regular burger. Walked by melt and remembered seeing it on food network channel, decided to stop by and check it out. Ordered the bird which has chicken, spinach, Fontana cheese on sour dough bread with side of chips. After I placed my order there was a screen that projected who's order was ready. I got my sandwich and it was hot! It was only a 5min wait to get food but then I had to wait a few minute to cool down. It was cheesy and I would rate 5/10. It was ok. Wanna know how someone can mess up an order of fries? Come to The Melt and you will find out. We are all humans so there should be room for tolerance, I get that, but there is threshold for everything. We waited for 20 min and had to go in and remind them of the order. Too many glasses of wine last night necessitated a hot, melty, cheesy kind of thing for lunch so I went to The Melt. The sandwich was just OK, nothing to write home about. I had looked at their menu online and wanted to get their signature sandwich: cheese and steak. They didn't have the steak. Really??? It's not like they ran out--I was there at 11:45am. They either didn't place their order correctly, or the shipment was late. In any case, no steak for me. It also could have used a bit more cheese. I expected an ooey, gooey cheesy sandwich, but no. The staff was nice and the outdoor seating makes for good people-watching at lunchtime, but I should have gone to Chipotle across the way. read more

Let me start by asking you if you enjoy melted 99 cent Kraft singles between bread from Walmart? That is exactly what this place is all about. So incredibly bland I can't believe I paid over 10 dollars for this crap melt. Oh and the tomato soup? Let's just say it has nothing on Campbell's version...
