I heard of the Melt from Goodday L.A. they notice they opening a Melt restaurant in Monterey Park. Now it's open my wife and I decided to try out the food to see it's worth it about the hype. I order the melted sandwich it's called the Three cheese classic it's a classic cheese sandwich then I order tomatoe soup by the side to make the childhood classic. We're surprise there no Coke or Pepsi machine but new competitor to soft drink war the new competitors is called Almeda soda Craft soda made with pure cane sugar. The craft soda were very impressive taste that blow our taste bud away amazing good. Then our buzzer alert us our meal was real to pick up. The food was looks incredible good especially the cheese sandwich and tomato soup. The Melt has been open for a few weeks now in Monterey Park, replacing what used to be Boston Market. The restaurant has been heavily marketing its burgers and sandwiches to SGV locals, so I decided to give it a try. As a brand new establishment, the staff is super nice and welcoming here. I got to try a cookie sample and the cookies here are tasty. The restaurant is also very clean and modern. I ended up ordering the Original with lettuce and tomato. The burger alone was more than enough to fill me for lunch. I find smash patties to be way too popular these days, so I was happy that The Melt did not use a smash patty. The burger, as marketed, is just the slightest bit pink. The patty is super juicy. The overall sandwich is just slightly too greasy for me, but packed with flavor. I had a craving for cheese fries, which might have been the first time having that craving. I stopped by to get them to go. I ordered "cheese fries" and noticed the register show "CHEDDAR BACON RANCH FRIES". I started to say I just want cheese, but thought I might ask we'll try them. They were okay. I like flavor and seasoning, but this was intense. IMO these are for sharing with other people - it's just too much otherwise. I know, I know - it's in the name, but even fries themself have green flecks of whatever. The patties were HUGE (1/3 lb) and everything just felt greasy. The mac was soupy with large noodles. The best thing out of everything was the strawberry lemonade. I was super excited to know that the melt was coming to Monterey park! I love their cheesy sandwiches and tomato soup! But since it was so hot, I opted to skip that and get their other sides. My toddler loved the Mac and cheese here, and that bbq bacon burger was so good. My father got a fajita melt, which was also pretty good, but not quite my jam. My first time having the chance to try The Melt. It was a great experience. They are still getting things more smooth as they open September 1 for their grand opening. Since it has been so hot they were offering everyone in line waters and tried to get the line if people to try to wait inside to get some ac. Really nice if the staff and manager. I tried the portabella double, w a strawberry lemonade. Both were great, the burger was huge, I think I could just get a single next time. The strawberry lemonade was unique, the strawberries reminded my of the strawberries you eat from the Marie Calendars Strawberry Pie.. First time at The Melt, recently opened. Ordering was a breeze, simple menu and lots of choices for burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries and mac-n-cheeses. My wife and I ordered the spicy burger and a double melt burger with garlic parmesan fries and 2 sodas (self serve at the dispenser). Food came out rather promptly and we sat in the dining area to eat. The double burger was super juicy and cooked to medium as requested. The burger normally comes with just meat and cheese so you have to add any other toppings, which I did. I added tomatoes and lettuce and raw onions. My wife's spicy burger came with jalapeño slices (not spicy at all). Both burgers came with a slice of pickle. The garlic parmesan fries were large enough to be shareable but I could have easily finished them myself, and I'm not a large guy who eats a lot. But they were very garlicky and pretty delicious and crispy. I will be back to try the chicken sandwich and the Mac-n-cheese. The service from the staff was friendly and they all had pleasant smiles! One server even walked around the dining area and offered diners some chocolate chip cookie samples. Thank you! Ambiance was rather calm and quiet. This location of The Melt just opened, and I believe they are still in their soft opening. It's located in Monterey Park. The interior is modernized, and everything looks clean and well-kept. The menu is pretty much burgers or cheese sandwiches, and overall, everything is pretty good. I tried out a few items, and these are my thoughts. MeltBurger - It's a solid burger. It's quite greasy, but it had tons of flavor. If you like heavy cheeseburgers, this is worth a try. (3.5/5) Steak & Cheese Sandwich - I liked this one better. It was slightly lighter, though still pretty heavy. Pretty cheesy, but no cheese pull. Overall, we liked it. (4/5) Cheddar Bacon Ranch Fries - Unique and tasty. Ok service was definitely a miss today, we waked in, and there's two registers open and we waited, cool one person in front of us, both registers were being used, so we were the 4th in line while 2 being serviced, one ahead of us. When it got to us only, the girl in front of our register didn't acknowledge, didn't look up, saw us and kept us waiting. Instead of taking us, she just kept looking over the other register like she can't do this on her own. After two kind of us patiently waiting, her other coworker, that looks like a supervisor, tells her very he'll these guests (us), then she proceeds to help us with an apology. Really weird. I then asked how many days are they open, she says day 2, (the supervisor) Ok I'll give them that. But some of their staff definitely needs some service training! No exaggeration, we stood there while the worker was completely free but just wanted to wait for someone to stand next to her to take our order for some reason. Other than that, food was decent and wanted to give this place a try! Will come back and give them another chance! I do like their fountain drinks selections, stuff I've never had before! Solid addition to Monterey Park! And I believe currently the only Melt in the 626. I was lucky enough to score a $10 voucher for our meal from the Monterey Park Library (thank you literacy supporters!) and it made our $27 almost $30 meal to $17, but it is a quite a pricey burger for a casual fast food restaurant (not even a sit down), so just keep that in mind. BUT! They are some fine, delicious burgers and quite easily shareable and sizeable too. They just opened and we came on a Wednesday around 7 PM, so it was quite packed and busy. I'm assuming growing pains, so be kind to the workers, Lots of trash in the dining room and overflowing trashcans and the utensils and soda fountain area can be a bit cleaner, but, again, growing pains and it was a packed house. Hopefully they'll have more staff and things will calm down eventually. You can order from the kiosk, they have an app for ordering ahead, or you can order from the cashier. They have a screen showing order status from EVERY source (in person, various food delivery apps, etc.). If you're dining in, they give you a buzzer. For our dinner, we got the: 1) Swiss 'n' Shroom Melt Burger: -This is a 1/3 angus and wagyu beef burger (we got this medium), chopped and grilled with 2 slices of Swiss cheese, spinach and grilled mushrooms, crispy onions, ranch on an artisan bun. Comes with a half pickle spear. -We also got the free add-ons like lettuce, tomato, onions. -Friend devoured this and we were eyeing the last 1/4 that we were saving for a friend who was going to show up. -Regardless it's a huge burger, more than enough to share between 2 people and if I had it by myself I would only be able to finish 1/2 of it, 3/4 at best, and save the rest for later. Tender and juicy beef patty. Not too salty, which is great. Nice mushroom flavor without being too "earthy", and not overly greasy or oily either. Went great with the other toppings and textures too. 2) Sweet Potato fries: -Solid sweet potato fries. Decent amount of fries. Went great with ketchup. Needed carbs with our meal, not mind blowing. I feel like I might've eaten at this place when it was in Pasadena, but one way or another I had somehow heard about The Melt opening a branch in Monterey Park and the pics on Yelp looked promising. Sadly, it turned out to be a big let down. Located in a strip mall near the 60 Freeway on Atlantic Blvd in MP, this burger and sandwich joint is clearly the new thing everyone in the area wants to try - an annoying trend nowadays and especially in the SGV where any restaurant that is new will enjoy long lines and buzz just because it's new and not because it's in any way good. The inside of the place is hip looking but basically a jazzed up burger spot. We tried the Steak and Cheese - which is essentially supposed to be a Philly cheesesteak but on buttered toasted bread, a Meltburger with bacon and lettuce added, a spicy chicken sandwich, regular fries, bacon cheddar ranch fries (without the ranch), and a couple of shakes - strawberry and cookies n cream. The shakes were okay though not as good as even the ones at In n Out. The Strawberry one had huge chunks of strawberry in it which make it a pain to drink with a straw. The best item was the spicy chicken sandwich. It had a good flavor and a crisp crust. Got the pickled relish on the side. The Meltburger was less successful. It's a serviceable burger, but nothing I'd go back for. It was messy and fell apart after a couple of bites. The taste was okay but not great. I also ordered it without any of the sauce or pickled relish but of course found huge dollop on the buns as I was in the last third of the burger. The worst item was the Steak and Cheese, which was so greasy it felt like you had just drank a glass of grease after taking one bite. The meat was greasy, the cheese was greasy, the bread was greasy. It was just totally gross. The fries came with some weird green flakes sprinkled all over them, which was not mentioned on the menu - turned out to be parley and coriander. Still, the regular fries were okay. The fries with the cheddar and bacon were not good. Once again greasy and mushy. In their defense, there were a lot of people eating there. I think it's just cause they are new and not necessarily because everyone loves it, but I could be wrong. I was totally unimpressed, cannot recommend trying it, and definitely won't be back. We've heard a lot of buzz about this place since it's new, so we decided to give it a try today. When we arrived, there weren't many people, and quite a few tables were empty. We were hoping to sit somewhere in the shade, but those tables were already occupied. There was one gentleman sitting by himself sitting on the few of shade area. Later, we realized he works there because, after a while, he walked around greeting a few tables, but we noticed he passed certain ethnicity, which is odd. But the servers are nice & friendly. As for the food, we ordered the BBQ Melt Burger, which was okay, along with fries that were quite salty. The Original Chicken Melt was greasy, and the chicken had a somewhat unusual taste. The Mac & Cheese was also on the salty side. The iced tea came in a small cup, although refills are available. Overall, we felt the food was average, especially considering the price. For a similar price, we can get four burgers with four light well fries, two extra-large iced tea, and two large Neapolitan milkshake at In-N-Out. I love smash burgers, but I often feel like they lack meatiness or get drowned in sauce. This place serves a burger that strikes the perfect balance. It has that great smash burger flavor, but the meat is still substantial, juicy, and clearly high quality without being too rich. You can actually taste the beef alongside the sauce. They were also kind enough to give me a sample of their chocolate cookie. At $3.99, cookies can be a gamble, but this one is a guaranteed hit. It's so good I'll be ordering one with every visit. I went with the burger since they're known for it. Honestly, it landed about a 4/10 Beef tasted unseasoned, very bland. Um. Cheese was creamy, with a little bit of jalapeño, but without that seasoning on the patty, it just didn't come together. A cheeseburger should have flavor first from the beef, not just rely on the cheese. BUT, the mac and cheese was a straight 10 out of 10. One of the best I've had. Where do I get started? Okay, here we go. I never heard of The Melt, but I saw an ad on Instagram. I was intrigued that a new burger place was opening in the city I live in. Then one day while driving north on Atlantic I saw the nice The Melt sign on the building where Boston Market once was. A week later it was opened so I stopped by yesterday. There is plenty of parking. The inside is nicely laid out. The food is great. I am a Foodie and a good chef, and I can attest to the fact the quality of the food is high quality. They use I believe they use American Waygu and Angus beef for the burgers. Rather than regular American cheese for the burgers it tastes like cheddar cheese. I got the double patty BBQ Bacon Melt. The burger has fried onions on it which I love. Way better than onion rings in my opinion. Thanks Melt for putting on fried onions rather than onion rings. The burger was so large I could only eat half, so I took the rest to go and ate at work for dinner as I work swing shift. I microwaved it at work and it tasted good still. Now don't even get me started on the garlic fries. I ordered some and they were delicious. Most of the time you order garlic fries at a restaurant they aren't really garlicy enough. They usually lack garlic but the ones at The Melt has a very pronounced garlic taste like good garlic fries should. They also sprinkle some parmesan shavings on it which is a nice touch and taste. This place nailed it. I also want to try the Bacon Cheddar ranch fries next time. When I first saw the ad for The Melt on IG, I mentioned it to my co-worker who also lives in MP because she is a foodie as well. She said she never has been to The Melt but she heard of it and they are known for their grilled cheese sandwiches. Next time I go I'll try that and get the garlic fries again. That said, I am sure my go will be the BBQ Bacon Burger. I do expect and know the grilled cheese will be great also. I opted not to get a drink because I am off soda so I asked for a cup of water (no charge). The bill after tax was about $24 and change (I do pay cash most times anywhere I eat). That may sound like a lot, but honestly, it is worth it and reasonable because they use quality ingredients and large portions and I was able to get dinner out of half the burger which was filling enough for dinner. I bet the chicken sandwich is great too. I'll try that in the future. Now let's talk about the staff and service. The staff are friendly, knowledable and helpful. By dumb Luck, my wife found this what I hate to say fast food restaurant called The Melt and we have been coming here for really healthy food like their chicken sandwiches are better than Chick-fil-A hamburgers and fries are better than In-N-Out. I can't believe I'm saying that but it is an amazing place to come in and eat. They opened on September 2 and we have been coming here for sure at least once or twice a week. Every time we come into the restaurant, Alexa always reaches with a smile and professionalism. Food is delicious, one of my favorite burger spots. I had the double melt burger and fries with vanilla shake. The burger hit the spot and imma definitely go back. The customer service was proper with real nice, smiley people. Good environment I ate inside and really enjoyed myself. Next time I swing thru I'll be trying another type of burger.
