I took my son here as a special treat during Restaurant Week. We had been here once before for dessert and we loved it, so we figured we'd come back for the full experience. Reading other reviews, it seems that Restaurant Week is NOT the time to come. Worst service I've had in recent memory. It was clear that our server was having a bad night and she took it out on us. I let her know right off the bat that we had never been there for dinner before. We ordered off the special three course menu. Our server spoke so fast that we could barely understand her, but we gathered that she'd be back to start the cheese course. She had neglected to turn on the burner, however, and then got mad when the cheese wasn't melting fast enough. She was stirring and whipping it around so furiously that bits of cheese flew out of the bowl and landed on the table and even on us! My son and I just kinda raised our eyebrows at each other but shrugged it off. We weren't even aware at that point that we would be cooking the main course at the table, but she informed us when she came back. She seemed annoyed that we were taking too long with the first course, so we made quick work of finishing up. She came back with some kettle looking thingy with a weird lid that she had trouble with and ended up sloshing liquid all over the place. She suddenly stopped and asked if we had ordered mojo. I gave her a blank look because I had no idea what she was talking about. She explained that it was the cooking style/broth. She asked me which broth I wanted. Since I had never eaten here before, I asked her for a recommendation. She said her favorite was mojo, and left it at that. So much for a recommendation! I asked for a menu, which must've really annoyed her because she slammed down her kettle and took off to find a menu. She brought back the menu, but I was struggling to read it in the dark, without my glasses, with our angry server breathing down my neck. She suddenly said, "It's NOT that hard!" Say what??? I wasn't sure if she was speaking to me or herself....either way it was inappropriate. I made a hasty decision and picked a broth. She brought back another kettle and slammed it on the table with a bunch of raw meat and rattled off a zillion instructions as to how to cook the food and avoid getting sick. I asked a couple of questions and she seemed to speak faster with each answer. The rest of the meal was a stressful blur of smoke, boiling water, raw meat and tangled kebab skewers. We boxed up most of it and moved on to dessert, which was a hit because it was tasty and a relief that we finally at the end of the meal and could finally get out of there. The manager did stop by at one point and asked how things were...I did speak up and say that our server was having a bad night. The manager asked for details, but I honestly didn't feel comfortable talking about it within earshot of the person who was already pissed off and handling my food. The manager said she would stop back, but I never saw her. It's just as well, as we won't return. Two stars for dessert, the rest of the experience was utterly disappointing. read more

The melting pot is such a fantastic place to eat at. Had such a great time with my fiancé and I. Made a reservation on resy ahead of time so we can get in and out and not have to wait. We were greeted immediately and sat at a booth. Our server Joey P was super nice and fantastic. Always checking on us throughout the meal, and filling our drinks. We came for the restaurant week Columbus had. It was a fabulous deal for a three course meal for both of us. The cheese fondue was great, Joey made it extra cheesy for us because we love our cheese. The second course was the meats. It was delicious only complaint was one of meats in my fiancé's food had a bone. Which sucked. But it wasn't a big deal. It's located in a "basement" with no windows and is definitely vibes. I love this place. However, I've gotten dinner with friends before and was not impressed. Maybe it was user error, as you are given raw food to cook yourself tableside. When my husband and I go we never get dinner. When usually stop in when we are in the area and I am craving the cheese and chocolate. So, that's what we get, along with a nice cocktail, of course. I feel like they could have more options to dip in the fondue. However, the fondue is amazing. We have never gotten anything we didn't like. It can get pricey if not careful. Back to school shopping in beautiful Easton Town Center with wife, daughter and a family friend. Excited all day to try this. We were told it's fun by our oldest daughter. Got to restaurant at 8. An hour before closing. Asked if that is fine. Was told it's normal for that to happen. No problem. Asked about how the menu and experience is coordinated. Host staff suggested that each person needs to order their own portion. Even our 7 year old, who only wanted a few shrimp as her entree. All our other meals came with shrimp. Walking toward our table, noticed several of the, center of table, self cooktop cooking methods. Sat and decided on our meals over a 10-15 minute period. Waitress came and told us there is only one way to order, by all selecting appetizer cheese, salad, entree and finally dessert. We were pushed into the bowl of broth method of heating the food as it's fastest. We declined and a wanted to grill. Waitress appeared angry about that because it takes longer. Now we know that her push for all of us to order enteees backfired because we now have selected the longer cooking preparation and that would keep her there longer. We had an absolute blast enjoying the cheese appetizer. None of us really wanted salad. Our seven year old ate her croutons in the cheese and none of her actual salad. We loved the entrees but didn't have enough time to cook it all and we're so full from all the appetizers and salads and four entrees. Dessert was delicious and very fun. Bill was $250 and waitress already pressed the 25% tip before handing me the card processor. The food was really good. The experience was phenomenal. So much fun. The waitress was decent at organization, etc but very, very pushy and rude. I highly recommend this experience. Unfortunately not at this particular one, or at least with this particular waitress. Can't wait to try it again. We'll get half the food and I would grill again. It's fun once you figure out how to use the tongues without getting raw food on the cooked food. I brought my mom here as a special night for her. She had never been to a place like this before. I made a reservation through Open Table. It was so easy, and even though we got there early, we were still seated in a reasonable amount of time. The server was amazing, and the food was great! We got the full experience, and even though it was pricey, thoroughly enjoyed it. We got the Spinach Artichoke Cheese, and then veggie broth for our meat. The only thing that wasn't good is the beef in the steak lovers and the land and sea. The beef was way over seasoned. But other than that, it was a fantastic experience. I didn't eat the food, but felt the need to write a review. The menu was extremely complicated as a first timer. The server told us that most people SPEND 2 HOURS there! That is crazy. It's $88 for two people to eat. The worst part: you cook the food yourself. You're paying ridiculous amounts for broth and for someone to cut up your meat. I didn't stick around to try it. We really enjoyed our evening at The Melting Pot. We decided on the 4-course meal which include cheese fondue, salad, main course, and chocolate fondue. One of my favorite courses is the cheese because of the fun items they bring for you to "fondue". I never would have thought that apples and warm cheese would taste good, but it was delicious! All of the courses seemed to come out at good times and I didn't feel like I was rushed or waiting. What. A. Disaster. From beginning to end, our experience at The Melting Pot was so disappointing. In our waiter's own words, "it was a sh*t show". We order two bottles of nice wine, the waiter brought out two bottles of much cheaper wine (that was not even on the menu), tried to say they were comparable, and then charged us the price of the nice wine anyway. We tried to get beer but, "the lines" were frozen". When we tried to use the restroom, they were both closed due to flooding. It took FOREVER to get each of our courses. Every time our waiter came to the table they voiced how flustered they were and how much a disaster it was in there. Our reservation was for 6:30, we were there for 3.5+ HOURS, well after the restaurant was closed. While ordering, our waiter told us of the great dipping options we would have, by the time dessert came, we only had strawberries and bananas, not the marshmallows and snicker doodles they had been raving about. By end of it , we were laughing about how absolutely awful our experience was and how much it cost. The restaurant is underground, so we joked that we were in purgatory, and our personal hell was being stuck at the melting pot forever. Ended up tipping over 20%. If our waiter thought it was bad to have to work through, imagine, having to pay out the nose to eat there. I have never had such a bad experience at a restaurant and not been offered some type of comp. I would love for a manager to contact me. read more

I hadn't been to the melting pot in about 5 years. I remember really enjoying it. My bf heard me rantiing and raving on it constantly and decided to take me for a nice date. The cheese fondue appetizer? Wonderful. The dessert chocolate? LITERALLY AMAZING. The entree? Left a lot to be desired. I was really disappointed to be honest. For being so expensive the food just was blah. It was a wonderful touch to be able to add rose petals and chocolate covered strawberries to the table though, for an extra fee of course. And our waiter was the nicest guy and so accommodating. I LOVE the Melting Pot! I've been to them in Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Georgia. So when we moved to Ohio and I discovered one was less than an hour away, I was sooo happy. Well, this location does not live up to the reputation of the others. The food was old with the vegetables limp--for lack of a better word. The chocolate dessert (my favorite part) burned before it was completely melted. No apology was issued. The staff were rude. Granted, I was spoiled by the southern hospitality of the other Melting Pots, but when I'm dropping $50+ per meal, I expect basic courtesy. The final straw was when we sat for an hour (yes an hour) without a single server checking on us. I would have liked some more bread because the veggies were practically spoiled. I would also have liked a refill on my water. One glass for a four course meal is really not enough. I still love the Melting Pot and I'll visit them...just not in Columbus, Ohio. read more

I LOVE their new grilling option for the entree course. We visit the Melting Pot every year for my son's birthday, so it's always a special treat, but it's nice to get a change . . . and it's a vastly superior dining experience. First of all, you don't lose your pieces of meat or veggies in the broth (as we used to do), and second, the meat gets a tasty sear instead of being poached. As always, the service was friendly and super efficient, and the manager (I think his name was Jason) stopped by our table to make sure everything was going well. The atmosphere is always cozy and pleasant; a nice break from the hustle and bustle of Easton during the holiday season. Try the new grilling option. You won't regret it. read more

The food quality was pretty cheap for the actual cost. The cheese fondue was rubbery. The chocolate fondue was definitely just hershey chocolate syrup. The service was slow and long - we would frequently go 30 minutes without seeing our server which is probably why the service took about 3 hours. The restaurant is definitely outdated and dirty. Because it is in a basement, the ventilation was poor for a place that you cook food at the tables. We will not be recommending this place or going back. We couldn't wait to get out of there, we actually considered leaving halfway through and paying at the host stand because of how long it took. Way too expensive for what it was. I must say it was a pain to find parking btw its Free, but there is a huge garage on the back of Texas, De Brazil, and you can just walk over it's a short walk. Well worth the meal you will have and service you will experience. If you are new to Fondue, think of it as a family style get together were you dip lots of yummy things like apples, bread, carrots, broccoli, meats and deserts in a dip. Might be cheese, a broth or oil, and finally good old chocolate. It's a one of a kind experience and you will be sure to love it. The Melting Pot has always been one of my favorite restaurants. Can you really go wrong when taking a lady out for some cheese, wine, and chocolate? I've been to this location maybe five or six times and have never been disappointed. The staff are always fun, friendly, and polite. The lighting and ambiance set the perfect mood for intimate date nights and the cooking/sharing food together just make the date that much more pleasurable. The Four Course Experience is my favorite selection off of the menu. Then again, I've never tried anything else because this is the absolute best! With the Four Course Experience, you get to enjoy a cheese fondue, a salad, an entree, and chocolate fondue. My favorite entree selections are: The Classic: Seasoned choice Angus sirloin, Memphis-style BBQ pork medallion, Pacific white shrimp, herb-crusted all-natural breast of chicken, and teriyaki-marinated sirloin. Fondue Delight: Premium filet mignon and a succulent cold water lobster tail paired with all-natural breast of chicken, Pacific white shrimp, and wild mushroom sacchetti. And as I've mentioned in previous reviews, I'm a dipper...they have some pretty amazing entree sauces to dip your meats and veggies in after they've been cooked. The green goddess and gorgonzola port are my favorites. I use the green goddess for the veggies and the port for the meats. Don't worry, you get to try all of the entree sauces with any entree your order. :) My favorite cheese fondue is the Cheddar Cheese Fondue. I think the lager and sharp cheddar help make this one of my favorites. :) The fondue is served with breads, fruits, and veggies for dipping. And of course...the best for last, the chocolate fondue! My favorite is the Flaming Turtle! I'll eat turtle anything...turtle cheesecake, turtle sundaes, and turtle fondue! It is simply amazing! The chocolate fondue is served with all of your favorite desserts for dipping - rice krispies treats, fruits, cheesecake, pound cake, marshmallows, and brownies! It's like you've won a ticket to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory or something! You will not be disappointed! This was our last experience. Visits to Longhorn and Texas Roadhouse have far exceeded. Especially at this cost, this is unacceptable. This was expensive trash. Overall; it's overpriced, outdated and I had to cook my own food. At this price point, the server should know the menu, especially a limited one, should know more wines than moscato, should be present, and should not have to state "full bar;" it's implied. Two glasses of wine and two four-course meals was $160 with a suggested 20% tip. The Melting Pot was unpalatable. If you'd like to spend this amount, go to M at Miranova. We had reservations at opening and walked in to see that they were not ready. The bar had straws, napkins, plastic bags and limes strewn about. The bar chairs were sloppy, appearing as if they hadn't moved since the night before, sparking concern that it hadn't been cleaned. There were no servers to seat waiting customers, all with reservations. While we did enjoy the intimacy of the booth, it was filthy. The panels and the shelf above the seats (right behind our heads) were visibly dusty in layers of hair and fuzz, not exactly appetizing when it's right next to your food and face. Our server was not helpful with simple questions about the dinner menu; it was clear he was not knowledgeable and stuck to a script. When asked about their wines, he could only tell me that they had moscato and seemed confused when I asked about dry whites. I had to look up the wine list on my phone while he popped his hip and sighed heavily. In his defense, I heard the exact speech from the neighboring server so it sounds as if it's a training issue. Regardless, neither of us received our correct drink order. The table next to us was attempting to order a cocktail and the only response they could get from their server was "we have a full bar?" She had to explain exactly how to make it and could not get an answer about what labels they served. The cheese fondue was very good. However, it came out cold so we had to wait for it to warm at the table. After a while it was too hot and began to burn the sides. Fortunately another server noticed as he was walking by and turned it down for us. We found it odd that celery and carrots were provided and not broccoli with cheese fondue but that's a personal preference. We did not care for the carrots and celery. You may ask for additional bread and vegetables, although for two people it's quite filling. The protein portions are decent but the food is very bland. The "cooking style" likely would have made a difference but we unfortunately took the advice of our server. I even asked "won't this just boil our steak?" and was assured it would not; that this was the best "style" with our selection of filet and that "everyone loves it." That was a big mistake. Our filet was tough even at medium rare and it tasted, shocker, boiled. The steak was not seasoned prior at all. They bring out a small serving of dipping sauces with a description and pairing suggestion. Good protein needs no dipping sauce, especially filet. Unfortunately, I had to use the blue cheese sauce just to choke down the tough, tasteless steak. My wife left hungry; she couldn't choke any of it down because it made her nauseous. The dessert course was not good. While the chocolate/ peanut butter fondue was tasty, it was overwhelming and chunky. Clearly ingredients had separated. We could barely use it on anything due to the taste and consistency. The fruit was old, not ripe and slimy but we had to use it as a palette cleanser. The waffle pieces tasted like flour and the macaroons were tasteless. We did really like the cheesecake, which of course required no fondue and the fudge brownie, again, with no fondue. The Rice Krispie chunks were actually very good with the fondue but nothing else was paired well. It was as if they just threw a bunch of sweet pre-packaged items on a plate. If they kept it simple with limited selections it would have been much better. This was trying too hard and executed very poorly. The atmosphere was nice. However, there were a few factors that hurt our experience. A family of four with elementary-age children decided it was appropriate to play games and watch videos at such a volume that we couldn't hear one another. Another family had a less than 12 month old who screamed and cried for two hours. Bathrooms: I was disgusted. Again, clearly had not been wiped down properly in quite some time. Everything was covered in dust, fuzz and hair. There were holes in the drywall to include where it was obvious a shelf had been pulled from the wall and simply shoved back. The walls of the stalls had substances caked, smeared and splashed on them. The Melting Pot was a massive disappointment. Everything should have been done better. There was no value in this advertised fine dining and high quality restaurant. Very poorly executed. read more

After successfully avoiding this place for years I finally end up here as a part of a group outing yesterday evening. The last time I had witnessed fondu prior to last night was in 1979's and I remember we were watching the news about three mile island on TV while sharing some fondu. Memories. The food quality was good and the server was friendly. What I can't get past is paying over $200 for three us to cook bite size pieces of food in a community pot. Lots of work for not much food. At least when suffering through a Japanese steakhouse someone else is cooking up bite size pieces of food you will pay too much for. For the fondu pot experience I would recommend heading off to tj max and buying one and doing it at home. Okay, I must be old: I grew up with fondue in the '70s. My family had it often, and we loved it. I've done it once at home since; it was messy and kind of a pain, but still good. I went to the Melting Pot near Graceland years ago with a big group, including some kids, and it was fun. But seemed expensive... Stumbled on this walking around Easton with my girlfriend, and decided to go in. The place is downstairs and very cool- dark, intimate, awesome music. The staff were great all around. We had Wisconsin cheese fondue to start; came with bread, apples, and veggies. It's healthy if it has fruit and vegetables in it, right? Right? We were almost full by the end of this. Then had the French Quarter meat combo. Highly seasoned beef and chicken, and andouille slices. Plus more veggies. Cooked in broth, not the oil I remember from way back. It was all very good- everything was fresh, broth and veggies were replenished when needed. Just a very nice, relaxing, romantic dinner. Pricewise, yeah, a little high, but really for the quality, the amount we got, and the overall experience, it's worth it.I'd go back in a heartbeat. read more

I've been to melting pot dozens of times, but the service at this location for restaurant week was horrendous. 40 minutes to get water once we were seated, no exaggeration. It took 2 and a half hours for dinner, and during restaurant week its 3 courses instead of the usual 4, plus our reservation was later at night- not the usual dinner rush time. We wanted to do the ultimate 5 course experience and the first three courses were okay despite our waiter slamming the plates down on the table while serving them. Our server nick took our menus away and told us we did not have any more choices to make for the rest of the meal, even thought there are two entree& dessert options we had not picked. He brought out the more expensive choice for entrees and, only when I asked about the option that does not include lobster because I do not eat seafood, did he bring out the entree we wanted. At this point we were supposed to cook it but he could not figure out how to keep our grill at a temperature to cook with and our meat sat half cooked, cooling off on the grill for about 15 mins until he came back and never fully cooked. The filet also was disgusting and looked more like trimmings (I will include pics) but we couldn't cook it anyways! We decided to skip the entree and just move on to desert after this which also took while coming out. A unique dining venue with very high-quality ingredients, attentive and knowledgeable staff and intimate seating. That's the best that I can share. I enjoy trying new restaurants but had never found my way here previously. I don't think I'll be back. I'm not a fan of cooking my own food. Actually counting the number of minutes my steak would be boiling in some liquid to try to reach my perfect medium rare was a complete distraction from any conversation I wanted to have. Oh, don't forget 3 more minutes for the vegetables... It's just not me. I totally get it but the quality of ingredients don't match the deficiencies of my cooking skills or effort. Changed things up because of Covid and NOT for the better! Our family is a MAJOR Melting Pot fans. We lived in France on the border of Switzerland for several years. We know our fondue. We make a 3-hour drive just to go to The Melting Pot at the Easton Mall. We won't be going back anytime soon. Seems the Melting Pot has cut corners, not prices, and is now serving previously frozen, stale bread to dip your cheese fondue in. When we arrived our host gave us a paper menu to share. He also gave us a small square piece of paper with a QR code and told us our drink menu was located there. So if you don't have a smartphone or left it at home you're out of luck. The waiter came over and asked us if we would like to start out with drinks and I said what do you have and he said you have to scan the code. I just looked at him. He asked What do you want? Soda products and I said no. He stood there he didn't offer drinks off the top of his head or anything. I said to my daughter well I guess we won't be having anything to drink because I'm not going to scan the code. So she tried to scan the code, the internet service was so slow we sat there and waited for it to come up. And then he asked again what did you want to drink? I said I would like a glass of wine and then he asked what kind of wine do you want? It just went on and on with the questions it was ridiculous. They are now making your cheese fondue in the kitchen. Not in front of you. Because of this process our traditional Alpine cheese, the one we always order, was overwhelmed by the wine. You couldn't even taste the cheese or tell that it was cheese fondue. It misses the cooking process at your table. I make fondue at home from scratch. They said the recipe hadn't changed but the process has. I sent the bread back and they admitted to the bread being previously frozen. The bread was so dry you could see white in the middle of the dark bread where the moisture had left. When I asked for fresh bread they brought me back a bowl of microwave warmed up bread. The next disappointment was the potatoes. No longer do you get potato pieces to cook in your broth. Today they were precooked herbed potatoes. Who serves previously frozen potatoes!? I actually thought they had brought me someone's leftover potatoes. They were so mushy and tasteless inside. I picked a potato up and squeezed it and water dripped out. Before I even put it in the boullion. Nasty! The whole evening was just ruined. From start to finish. The manager was nice enough to come over and explain to me all the woes of covid changes that corporate has sent down but it didn't matter because the meal was ruined. The melting pot meal is a process not the end result. I didn't ask for anything taken off my bill and neither was anything offered. I told the manager as honest as he was being I would be honest as well and told him it would not be worth my drive back. A tradition changed for sure! read more

Ok, this place is very romantic in setting that I will say. The quality of ingredients is excellent but the prices are astronomical and in the end dipping a variety of beef and seafood in hot broth at the cost of $100 does not provide very much satisfaction not to mention that the amount of food you get for that price is preposterously small. My fiancee and I were extremely excited to try this place, and we ended up thrilled about our experience! We visited on 3/21 for a late lunch or early dinner, about 4 PM. I thought it was pretty fun that the restaurant was downstairs from the street level of Easton. We were seated quickly and our waitress (unfortunately I forget her name, but she was wonderful) quickly explained the basic premise of the restaurant and then took our drink orders. After checking the menu, my date and I decided on the 4 Course Experience (select 1 cheese fondue, select individual salad, individual entree, and a shared dessert). We decided on the Loaded Baked Potato Cheddar for our cheese fondue (cheddar, green goddess, garlic and wine seasoning, potatoes, bacon and scallions) which came out with various chunks of bread, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and granny smith apples. This was delicious! I had to hold back from eating too much as I wanted to make sure I could taste everything that was yet to come! For salads I picked the house salad with the house dressing, which reminded me of a cross of honey mustard with french. Delicious! Date had house salad with ranch. For our cooking styles, we picked mojo. As soon as the pot was placed on the burner, we were drooling because it smelled so good. My date picked the "Steak Lovers" for her entree and I had the "Pacific Rim." Both were outstanding. My personal favorite was the honey orange duck, but everything was good! My only problem (minor!) was that the dumplings seemed eager to fall off of the fondue forks; as I said, extremely minor and definitely won't affect my rating. My date LOVED her steak entree; we ended up bringing quite a bit home. It should be noted that the entrees come with a bowl of mushrooms/potatoes/other veggies. Dessert: OH....my...GOD. We selected the s'mores fondue, which is milk chocolate with marshmallow cream, and graham cracker bits. Flambeed! It comes out with a tray of brownies/blondies, strawberries, bananas, pineapple, rice krispie treats, and oreo/graham crusted marshmallows. I really cannot describe how delicious this was! This ended up being a great meal/experience! I can't wait to go back! I totally feel that the food/experience is worth it for the price; I believe our bill ended up being around 110 with drinks. I hadn't been to The Melting Pot in several years, but with Restaurant Week I thought it would be a good opportunity to become reacquainted. The bacon and jalapeno cheese fondue was fine. The bread with the cheese was the highlight of the course. The vegetables to dip were pretty limp and pathetic. For the main course I had the Classic. The meats were quality, but It just got old after trying everything once. If you're a dessert person, this would be a great spot. Our group enjoyed that course the most by far. Our service was downright terrible. The server was pleasant, but just absent and she came across as frazzled. It didn't look like she was covering a lot of tables, unless her tables were in a different area from where we were sitting. Our glasses would be empty for long periods of time, she would forget things to the point we didn't bother even reminding her. The food took an incredibly long time to arrive as well. My girlfriend and I went here on a date. Things started out great, we got two drinks, she got the melting pot mule and I got the old fashioned. The old fashioned was weak and definitely did not have an ounce of alcohol in it. I know what they're supposed to taste like as that is my go-to drink. The alpine something-rather cheese fondue was great, but the broccoli that came with it looked old and the bread was definitely stale. We both ordered a meat plate to cook, I got filet mignon, duck, and the "seared ahi tuna." Obviously everything came raw, as expected. But then here's the kicker. They give you four liquid options to cook your meat in... yes, the only way you can cook the meat at this place is to BOIL it! Who the heck in their right mind boils expensive cuts of meat? Everything came out chewy and gross tasing, even when it looked like it was cooked medium rare on the inside (for the filet). We ended with a chocolate fondue, which was fine, but you can't really mess up a chocolate fondue. Tldr; I do not recommend eating here as the cooking options for the meat are exceedingly limited. You can only boil it in your choice of broths, which leads to a less than stellar meat flavor and consistency. When you're paying $40+ per plate, you should expect better than this. My advice, skip the melting pot and head on down to the Brazilian steakhouse nearby. read more
