I found lipstick on my glass when I took a drink of my iced tea. I then asked for waiter to notify the manager . The manager Simply told me they will do better an take care of it and shrugged me off. The manager only took the price of the the ice tea off my bill . I feel he could of taken better care of us considering my glass was used and not clean in the middle of the covid pandemic. The manager was arrogant and didn't seem to care at all. I would of took a picture but they grabbed the glass before I got a chance... We also received a dirty cast iron plate to cook on , the waiter noticed there was a straw rapper stuck on the side of it. I started looking inside it and noticed food stuck on the inside along with some metal shavings , the waiter seen this as well an gave us a new cast iron plate. Omg this place! The food was amazing. The experience is great. The fondue is prepared in front of you. You enjoy your appetizer, then you have a salad, a main course that you cook yourself, and then the yummy dessert. My husband and I had a night out without the kids and decided to try the Melting pot. It was such an amazing experience. The waitress was very helpful. Explained everything as we went. It is very dark in the restaurant. And the meal will cost you, but is worth it for the experience. We had the beer cheese fondue as the starter and it came with pretzels, apples, bread, and some veggies to dip. We each had a regular salad. Very good. My entree was sausage, chicken, and pork. My husband had the beef platter with 3 different kinds of steak. We had the basic broth to cook it in and it also had potatoes and veggies in it. And for the dessert we had the basic chocolate fondue and it came with omg the brownies and pound cake. It was so very good. Being a lover of cheese I have been wanting to try a fondue restaurant. While vacationing in Florida we saw the Melting pot and decided to give it a try. It's a nice place and the host was very welcoming! We ordered the cheddar cheese and the spinach artichoke fondue. My 10 year old granddaughter thought the fondue was ok, the 13 year old was "not impressed". I have to agree with the 13 year old. So disappointing as I was looking forward to cheese fondue the most! Next were the entrees. Four of us had the steak lover's entree and the 10 year old had steak and chicken. We all agreed that the steak was good! Our granddaughters got the desert fondue, and that was a huge hit! It was a little over 200 for 3 adults and 2 children which I thought was a bit pricey for what you get and to cook your own food:) It was a fun experience but I don't think I would do dinner again. Where do I start? We were hoping for a fun dinner experience for NYE. We have only been to the Melting Pot twice over several years so we were hoping our waitress would direct us on how everything would work and make our experience memorable. She never greeted us with what I think would be the first greeting, "have you ever been to the Melting pot? Let me tell you how tonight's menu will work." We had to ask all the questions and drag any responses out of her that were far from service oriented answers. First question, "what fondue is usually the most popular?" Our waitress, "I have no idea haven't tasted these, they are new for the NYE menu, read the ingredients and see what sounds good." This is how the night went, no experience what so ever offered! Then when our grill pan was heating up, my husband took his straw and let one drip of water out on grill pan to make sure it was hot enough as he likes to cook our steak as hot as possible; it did sizzle and cause some smoke but you would think we started a grease fire the way the "manager" ran over and told us "we ruined the pan." He went on and on even though the sizzle lasted 15 seconds and was over before he got to our table and it was quite embarrassing the "huge" overreaction, then he charged us $30 on our ticket without even letting us know he was charging us for the pan! Supposedly, we ruined the pan over one drip of water, we cook a lot and we asked for the "ruined pan" as we will be using this pan for years to come telling the story of how hard it must be to get "normal" managers when your restaurant is far from successful! Now we remember why we have only been here once every 10 years, food isn't that great and service doesn't make up for it! read more

Bottom line: Brutal, though unintentionally hilarious experience made for a lot of laughter. We'd made reservations for a mid-week dinner for 4. Upon arrival, the place was empty, but the hostess seemed to have difficulty finding our reservation. When we said the reservation was under "Mike" she shook her head, until she found the reservation (couldn't have been too many) under "Michele." The menu was a bit confusing, though in all fairness, it'd been 20+ years since our last visit to a fondue restaurant. At the same time, our server found it challenging to describe the menu, how to order, or what might be suitable for newbies. After some awkward back and forth, we generally had an idea as to how to proceed. Upon ordering though, we were told they were out of Corona, had no chicken, nor tuna. Which happens, yet had we been told up front, we would have avoided further awkwardness and delays in revising our order. As a side note, when we inquired about the chicken potstickers, she indicated that was the sole chicken selection available, because they came off the 'old truck.' Naturally, we then asked if any of the food we were about to eat is from a 'new truck' delivery. Rhetorical questions aside, (a) why would the server inform us the food is not fresh, and (b) imply that the food is outdated? Nevertheless, we persisted, and ordered the potstickers, along with a variety of beef, steak, vegan and pork selections. When the food was delivered, we were confused as to what to how to proceed in cooking the various meats, particularly the raw pork, into a single cooking bowl for four people. The meats themselves were of poor quality, and with the cooking method employed, were tasteless and boiled. The preparations on the meat (teriyaki, in one example), our server stated, would 'stay on' the meat even when being immersed in the pot of broth and other meats. Our party was dubious as to the science of this comment, but said, "OK." Naturally, whatever flavor was initially affixed to the meat boiled off when cooked. The broccoli we had was grey and tasteless, consistent with the rest of the food. Dessert was adequate, and the closest thing to 'edible' during our meal. Towards the end, we were laughing so hard as this 'restaurant' that we looked up 'food poisoning at The Melting Pot' on the internet, to quickly see that nausea and diarrhea are not uncommon experiences. Based on the cooking method and delivery of food, it makes sense. Your mileage, as they say, may vary. The bill came to $240, including tax and tip, for the meal and four alcoholic drinks. Horrendously overpriced, based on the quality of the food, lack of professionalism from the staff, and overall dead vibe inside. In spite of the above, we had a blast! We laughed so hard, and will never forget this meal. To The Melting Pot in Destin, I thank you for providing such a lasting and fun memory. We will never dine with you again, but wish you well and appreciate the belly laughs throughout the night. read more

The Melting Pot is more of an experience than just a restaurant, we sat down at 7:30 (with a reservation) and hag on of the most of wonderful meals I've had in a long time. We started with a first course of the Wisconsin cheddar fondue and then moved into salads. I had the house salad with ranch dressing and my date had the Caesar salad. We then did the "Thursdate" special and used the cast iron skillet method of cooking. They had salmon, shrimp, fillet mignon, teriyaki sirloin, herb crusted chicken, and a mushroom pot sticker. The teriyaki sirloin was my favorite of the meats. We then movers into dessert, where we had milk chocolate fondue with an array of goodies to try in the fondue. I 100% recommended this restaurant if you can afford it and have the time. Overall we spent from 7:30-9:15 enjoying the four courses. read more

Left hungry and broke. We are locals and will never ever return here because we got so price gouged! Service was horribly slow and drinks were so watered down we had to order doubles, which you still couldn't taste any alcohol. Then the kicker (or I should say ass kicking) came when the bill arrived and each (double) drink was $22-$23!!! What a heist they are running there...to water down the drinks to get you to order doubles that you then charge at the rate of a South Beach club! We went here for New Years Eve thinking it would be fun for our group of locals, being that our kids had never been and it's normally a fun experience. Also, they had a preset NYE menu for $50/pp, which I thought was a good price since normally Melting Pot can definitely get pricey, and compared to the Fleming's NYE menu at $85/pp, it was a more reasonable price. We had a party of 7, and 3 out of 4 adults had previously been to a Melting Pot before, but never this location. Normally after a MP experience, you leave very satisfied and full. Not the case here. $50 got you a cheese fondue, salad, entree which consisted of 2-3 tiny bite-sized pieces of chicken, shrimp, pork, steak and mushroom, plus a chocolate fondue. The entree (meats) came on a very small plate maybe 6" x 3". Not nearly enough. We could've eaten double that, and we are smaller people. Then, because the service was sooooo slowwwwwwww, and we were trying to make the fireworks show at Baytowne, we had them just give us the chocolate fondues to go. We literally got two single sized portions...for 7 of us. I even asked if that was the correct amount and he told me yes. Then comes the bill...1 kids meal @ $15, plus 6 preset menus at $50/pp, and an average of 2 drinks each for 4 adults ended up costing us over $600. Seriously. I kid you not. We were in disbelief at how badly they raped our wallets, only for us who are all LOCALS to cook our own food, get horribly slow service from a waiter who showed his face maybe every 20 mins, cocktails that literally tasted Iike mock-tails, wayyy too little food, and they cheated us on the chocolate fondues. We walked out making plans to cook pizza once we got back to our house. On a positive note, the Ready-To-Cook pizzas at Publix are delish! read more

The family went here for lunch and was seated at a two burner table. Incase you dont know, you pay per person. about 25 bucks each for a selection. with two burners, you can choose two cheeses at 25 dollars per person. The cheeses were ok, the classic was a bit too much wine for the kids, and the brie we didnt order enough. The chocolates are done the same way. Our waitress failed to heat them up enough so we had cold chocolate fondues. I am a certain we were short changed on the white chocolate portions. Dont go here. read more

We have been here several times and sadly, don't think we will return after tonight's meal. We came at 4:30 pm to beat a dinner rush and because we had plans at 7. Dinner started with us having menus with different pricing, one with what we believe to be pre inflation and one with higher pricing (no biggie, good for a laugh). Our waitress, while very nice, was not around very often and because of this, made our dinner experience last MUCH longer than it should have. For example, we sat with boiling broth for close to 15 minutes and no food. This 15 minutes was after it had already taken a few minutes to even come to a boil. We had to send back several of the cooking prongs because they were coated in old food and not clean, which oddly seemed normal to the waitress. We have always enjoyed coming here but this time, the entire visit was unfortunate. Our cheese was barely warm and when we brought this up, we were, in a kind way, told to just eat it. ‍ My husbands filet came out great, beautiful cuts with no fat. My filet came out looking like it had been chewed up and put on my plate and had fat covering all but one piece. My husband wanted to send mine back but I just wanted to be done with the dinner so we could leave at that point. Our son had so much fat going through his steak he couldn't chew half of it. And then our dessert came out with a small hair on the pound cake piece. It sadly was just a disappointing dinner all around which is not fun with you spend $200 on 3 people to eat. read more

This is for sure the epitome of a dining experience! For $41 you get two appetizers (cheese fondue &ha salad), entree, & dessert. Our server Stacy was AMAZING! It was our first time there and she told us everything we needed to know to ensure the ultimate experience. She recommended menu options and even told us how long to cook our meat depending on how we wanted it. Although this restaurant is one of the best in town, expect to be there for 2 hours or more. We got there at 8pm and didn't get to leave until 10:30pm because of all the time they spread out in between courses and allowing you to cook your own entrees. Overall, this is definitely one of my new favs in Destin and we will be returning very soon. PS: we were told that Monday nights are half off everything on the menu, so splurge! read more

The service was nothing short of amazing, our server, Jess, was very kind, funny and informative. I had never been so I had a lot of questions and she was clearly well informed of the way the restaurant worked and answered all of my questions in a way that i understood. The food, oh my gosh, the food it was AMAZING. Jess informed us how long every item on our plate needed to be cooked to insure it was done, and brought out sauces and recommended which sauces to try based on the entrees we got. I was very pleased with the experience I had at the Melting Pot. It was an event, not just dinner, which I enjoyed. There were 4 in our party and we all ordered the 4-course plan. The waitress explained it and it was pretty easy to understand. I was thrilled to learn we could use broth instead of oil for cooking. Course 1 - Cheese Ummmmm..... YUMMMMMM! This by far was way better than I ever expected. I am not a big bread person but when you dip it into cheesy spinach and artichoke cheese sauce, wow! We practically licked the bowl. There were plenty of dippers, breads, veggies and such. Course 2 - Salad Nothing special here. I did get the Caprise Salad which was good but nothing cooking in the pot for this one. Still, a good salad. Course 3 - Meats This was good. However, this is where I deducted a star. The amount you get is fine and I thought the cuts were good. However, it took a lot of time to cook the meats and the beef was hard to judge if it was done. Seafood was super easy and next time, I will just do that. Skip chicken entirely, that was my least favorite (I got surf and turf). Course 4 - Flaming Turtle (Chocolate) It came out and after adding yummy goodness to the pot, it was set on fire (hence flaming). Superb choice, tasty and just enough. We were getting stuffed at this point. Next time though, I will request more fruit and less cakes and brownies, as it was too rich and I preferred the fruits. Overall this was a fabulous experience. The price is a tad high but I realize I am paying for the experience, entertainment and seat time. We were there almost 3 hours and took our time, visited and had fun. By far the best spot for quality food, atmoshpere and employees in the FWB-to-Destin area! The server we had was amazing and she did a fantastic job helping us navigate the menu, but the hostess and bartending staff was rude, ignored us, and flat out could care less... the only reason it has a 4 on the review is for the server and the food. We showed up and they told us about a 10 minute wait for a table of 2; a couple showed up after us, was told the same thing, and got sat at a table before us. We sat at the bar for a drink like the hostess recommended and watched this happen. Plus the bartenders ignored us the entire time as they were busy trying to flirt with guests instead of providing customer service in this customer service industry... but not a big surprise for this area in Florida. The food was amazing and wonderful like always and if you can stomach horrible customer service from the hostess then this is a good spot. This was our first time eating at The Melting Pot and we really enjoyed it! The Melting Pot is a restaurant to go to if you are looking for a dining EXPERIENCE. As such, expect your dining to take a little longer than than your run of the mill restaurant, and expect it to be a bit more expensive. That being said, it was a wonderful experience. We were in town on vacation and stopped in for my wife's birthday. The staff was very kind, attentive, and knowledgeable, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the owner was sincerely concerned if the customers were enjoying themselves. They changed up the menu so that was a bit hard to figure out, but the waitress was patient enough to walk us through it. Food is OK, but definitely overpriced. It would have three stars based on that, but our server was outright hostile. So, we took our seats and explained it was our first time at a fondue restaurant. That comment was met with an audible sigh and a brief explanation of the confusing menu. We ordered a 4-course meal which would take place over two hours. Honestly, the food was alright, albeit expensive. The cheese had a bit much wine, but alright. The salad and main course were both tasty. However, drama ensued over dessert. Our waitress dropped a dessert menu at our table in passing, and returned to take our order ten minutes later. Both my friend and I were confused over pricing, so we asked if the chocolate varieties had different pricings. The place is empty and they are telling us it is a 45 min wait 11 empty tables on the outside patio and I count 10 empty inside the restaurant Manager no where to be found, he finally came out and met us at the table. I've wanted to try this place for so long, and we are honeymooning so we did. The food was great. It's a little more pricey than places we usually go, but it's a ton of food and it's delicious. I mean a lot. My husband is a buffet kind of guy but he's in food coma heaven tonight. It's also fun, because you get to be an active participant in your meal. For me though, the best part was the service, they were all so nice and helpful. Our server definitely went above and beyond, we even got a congrats card from the staff on our way out.
