Ohhhh man!! I got stuffed like a Christmas goose! And that was just for brunch, so that says something right there. I had never even heard of this place before the morning of April 6fh, 2024. I knew we were all going out to brunch, but I had no clue where until we rolled up to this place. Anyway, the French toast sticks I had were 'da bomb!! It was like an explosion of cinnamon sugar flavor in my mouth. I wasn't quite sure what to get for brunch, but I am sooo glad I went with this. It's like every bite was triggering the pleasure receptors in my brain, like, "Oh yeah, this is yummy." The second floor might have been closed while we were there, but I did manage to get a look at all the cool keychains hanging from all of the railings and even around the bar. Our waitress (I think my sister said her name was Miranda) was super nice, and I just had to tell her the French toast sticks were delicious. I didn't just leave full, I felt satisfied. It was like I didn't just eat something to get rid of the Morning Munchies. I had something that was going to fill me up and give me fuel to get through the rest of my day. Went to this place after a concert last night. Disgraceful service. We were seated and then watched every wait staff in our section walk by us at least 4 times!!! No one took a drink order or even made eye contact. Finally got a manager's attention. She apologized and immediately got us a server, Callie, who was great. Got everything fast. We were so exited to try this place, but sadly, they fell short. Restaurant is gorgeous. Well done and open air concept is really nice. Service was great, drinks were well presented and delicious. Where they fell short is the food. Chicken potstickers and pretzels were good, fried cauliflower was a mushy mess. My steak was so tough and dry, I could barely eat it (and I lean towards a more Med-well done steak, I'd rather it be overdone, this was black and HARD!) taglietti pasta dish was meh, and comes in a small bowl, odd presentation. Smash burgers and salmon, I was told, we're good. We are not picky eaters, and I'd give the food a 5/10, such a bummer. I'd stick to drinks and apps (it felt more like a bar scene anyhow, rather than a restaurant, masses of people headed up to the rooftop and lined the bar) Last kicker is that when I made the reservation, I let them know it was a birthday, and That when the birthday girl ordered. The food was average. The drinks were pretty good. It's more of an after dinner place. I wouldn't recommend coming here for the food. It was pretty loud, but if you like that, then you should have fun. read more

Ive had both brunch and late lunch here and it has always been amazing. While it's not the speediest service ever, they are kind and well priced for what you get! Great atmosphere, drinks are good and food is good. I was visiting family in Worcester, and knew that the Mercantile was opening so we decided to give it a try. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. However, I have to bump down my ratings because of the initial greetings we received when entering the restaurant. Unfortunately, the hostess who had greeted us was very rude, making us feel very unwelcome for about the first 15-20 minutes. On the plus side- We met one of the managers, Julia. She was such a lovely person! So kind and understanding. Our server was also great. It is the first week that they've been open- it's understandable that it'll take a couple weeks to get into the hang of things! read more

My friend and I went two Sundays in a row, this place was so good. The service isn't fast, but it's worth it. Gives you more time to spend with those you're dining with. If you're lucky enough to have Jacob as a bartender, you'll have an awesome time. We initially wanted to go to the roof (which is lovely), but we liked Jacob so much we stayed at the bar for our meal. GET THE POUTINE! Also that boozy donut is divine (and I'm not even a sweets fan). Will ABSOLUTELY be back. read more

I have been to the Mercantile twice now. The pizza is PHENOMENAL. We had the Caesar salad and it was just ok. Spinach dip was great but the homemade chips were a little too seasoned for us. Their food presentation and drink presentation is top notch. It's a great spot for ambiance in Worcester! Great location with lots to do near by. read more

You need to accommodate your guests requests when it comes to safety. Double decker high chairs are so dangerous. The server we had was amazing and sweet but your hosts and managers need work. This new restaurant in the middle of Worcester by Saint Vincents hospital has a bright future. The place is very big and has a great wrap around bar with many high definition televisions. The menu is t very big, but big isn't always better. The choices are pretty standard but each one was tasty. We started with the nachos, which were of a decent size and had layers of cheese, roasted corn and beans. The guacamole and salsa side could have been bigger, but we dealt with it. Two of us had the smashed burgers, which were cooked right and had a good flavor. Wife had the CBR sandwich-chicken, bacon, ranch sandwich. She was happy and the bite I had was decent, I had the chicken Bahn Me. It was tasty and I enjoyed it, but it was small and didn't fill the bun. This place is awesome!! Loved the atmosphere, our entire group got excited just showing up at this place and seeing the unique design. Drinks were delicious, got the Crimson Sour, and it was cold and just what I needed. Service was good and the staff was very friendly. Checked this out this week for the first time. It was delicious! Great drinks, great food, great atmosphere, great service! I will definitely be back again! I only had the Ceasar salad but I was going to a show so I didn't want to be bloated. But, very good. My friend got the chicken bahn mi sandwich and she said it was very good. My sunset spritzer was listed on the shareable drink menu but they said they could do it for one. It was soo good. I want to try half the menu. The decor was modern/industrial. Can't wait until they open the rooftop. It was fantastic. Tip: make a reservation. We went for 12ish and we had to sit at the bar because they were full. And, this has only been opened since Monday! They have an upstairs and downstairs location and the bathroom upstairs didn't work but if we wanted to use the bathroom we had to go downstairs and weren't allowed back upstairs with our group and they threw us out because " we asked to many time" and the only consent was if we had a tab open still read more

In the gluten free community, The Mercantile was famous for their signature thick crust GF pizza. During our last visit we learned that they have recently abandoned their unique recipe for a generic, run-of-the-mill cauliflower pizza crust that every other GF pizza place serves. Easy parking in the heart of the city. Large restaurant with a big bar for watching sports. They have a good menu selection and drinks are prepared well. Service was also pretty good though the poor bartenders probably catch grief from the younger patrons on weekends. Definitely worth trying the Mercantile if you are close to the DCU center read more

We had a lovely quiet brunch here last weekend! Everything was delicious and we got there before any of the brunch rush really started. Went here on a Sunday to get lunch, and was told a 15-20 minute wait. 30 minutes later after a family with no reservation walked in and was seated immediately we asked how much longer the wait was, and were told 15 more minutes. We asked why we couldn't sit at one of the 6 empty tables (that had been empty for our entire wait) and was told they were for parties that had reservations. We were offered a chair rail seat that wouldn't have been able to fit a plate on. Needless to say we declined and left. read more

To be functioning this well after such a short amount of time being open is extremely impressive, they really have it down. Not sure this was the intention, but this is a college hangout spot - so you get what you get. Service gets flustered and struggles to problem solve. Average (often soggy!) food. Pretty good instagram worthy drinks. GREAT vibe. 5 stars for vibe. 4 stars for drinks. 2.5 stars for service. 2 stars for food. (For service: Hosts are the weak link - my guess is they put newbies there, but they need more training- leaving people with bad tastes from the start - enter number in wrong to text, rude, don't appear interested, texting, gossiping, etc) Really though would have to fix the food to make a big splash. read more
