My family and I were looking for a place to eat before visiting the Veterans memorial. We drove past this place and figured we would give it a try. When we seen the name we immediately thought country style food or American comfort food. Boy we're we surprised to see Italian food but boy were we in for a treat! The service was amazing, the food was even better! Hubby and I for the Pizza lunch specials for about $11 for a good size personal pizza and a salad. I had the bbq chicken pizza and it was really flavorful. The crust on the pizza was really soft and crispy on the bottom. Love everything about it. I have eaten at the mill maybe 100 times and every time I am confused on what I want to order because it is all so good. Their salads, the sandwiches, the breakfast! (only on the weekends) and their pizza...allll so good. And they even have pizza kits that the family and I have taken home a couple times. I used to go here all the time for the six cheese fettuccine alfredo. Its delicious but obviously filled with oil and grease so not exactly something i can eat regularly and maintain a healthy weight. If you want to indulge, Id definitely recommend ordering that. There curbside service kept us alive during covid. Especially on Mondays when they have their family deal. Over the years we've eaten plenty on the patio which is beautiful. My wife and I have been here twice and it was around lunch time. I had the calzone each time and she had the Cobb salad. The marinara sauce the calzone comes with was plenty and very tasty with a little sweetness. My wife loved her salad. The service was friendly and prompt. The calzone, although delicious, the toppings it came with were kinda weak and seemed as though they could've added more as there was A LOT of room for more. We're wanting to come down for breakfast, but never seem to find the time. The breakfast menu looks amazing and we're dying to try it. We'll be back for sure. read more

Description: I read several reviews and decided to go there for breakfast with my husband. The Mill is a fun neighborhood restaurant that exudes friendliness and charm from the minute you walk thru the front doors. The bar and restaurant are one room. Though the area is small, it doesn't feel cramped. Location: The restaurant is located in the old portion of the city of Murrieta. It is at the end of a small strip mall, and though the location is not ideal, it doesn't distract from the ambiance. Décor: The restaurant and bar area are very cozy and decorated with warm earthy colors. The pizza oven is nicely located behind the bar near the front, so that you can watch the pizza's being made. There is an outdoor area for seating. It is kept up very nice and looks inviting, however the traffic noise could be a bother. We enjoy sitting outside and were not bothered by the noise. Menu: The mill has a very extensive menu, with at least six pages of items. This included breakfast, lunch and dinner options. We were there for breakfast and noticed the breakfast pizza with optional toppings like spinach, spicy sausage, etc. This came as a surprise as we have never tried a breakfast pizza before. My husband ordered the pizza with eggs, mozzarella, marinara sauce, and spicy sausage. He thoroughly enjoyed it. The pizza dough and the spices were great and it is something we would definitely order again. I had the spinach, mushroom and feta scrambler and it was good. I think it needs a touch more seasoning to make it more interesting, but that is a minor point. My husband did complain that the coffee was very bland. Wine and Beer: They specialize in the craft beers, IPAs, Pilsner Belgium Amber, and Ale's. The Mimosa's were very reasonably priced and kinda fun to order with a Sunday breakfast. Service: Our server was Bree and she had a cute, bubbly personality. She was very attentive to our needs. Final Thoughts: This is a wonderful neighborhood bar and restaurant for friends and families. I would recommend it for a good standard breakfast with a unique twist on offering the pizza breakfast. A couple of suggestions for enhancement: a selection of fresh breads from local bakeries for breakfast (the bread seemed store bought), homemade jelly's and jams (not a fan of the little plastic jams), glassware instead of plastic cups, and better coffee. read more

We have been going here for years and really liked it. But we have ordered food to go, and the orders have been messed up a lot. Basically the salads. You order the salad pay extra for chicken. ( no chicken in the salad) this was at least twice. We order a pizza with the an tipasti salad. No meat again. Third or fourth time now. I complain and the response was?? Oh, we will put you on the salad board. So, they have so many complaints about this that they set up a board to give you a free salad?? The coffee was great now not so much. ***WORST SERVICE EVER***Never do these reviews but in this case I will. This owner is EXTREMELY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. I have lived in the city my whole life and have supported the Mill for years. We live right down the street additionally. The other night my family and I went to the Mill to eat and when we arrived they had a wait time of 30-35 minutes. We hade no problem waiting because we want to support the community. While we were waiting there were 4 open tables along the wall. The tables were for a party of 4 and we were for a party of 5. I have three boys under 10 years old. I asked the girl upfront why we could not seat my three 3 boys at one table and my wife and I at the table right next to it. That would also assist in us having the best of both worlds having a somewhat date night which we never get. They said they could not do that, because a party of 8 was coming in. I asked the girl if the party of 8 was going to take those open tables and she said, "no" because the group was too large. For the next 30 minutes while we waited NOT one group sat at those open 4 tables. I'm a business owner and real-estate broker in the area and that was just bad business etiquette. Still at this point I was ok with everything even though it did not make sense. The owner overheard what I asked the girl and said in the most condescending way, " Don't worry we'll get yea bud." As I waited the 30 minutes I saw a staff member behind the counter handling food with their bare hands which is a common practice, however then saw that same worker wipe their nose with their bare hand and put their bare hand back into the tray of salad and put the salad in someone's bowl. I was grossed out but I'm not naïve to think this doesn't happen at almost every restaurant. I didn't say anything and hoped they did not handle our pizza like that we were going to order. We were in fact seated minutes later and as we were walking to our table over the crowded room, the owner blurted out again condescendingly , " See I told yea bud we would get yea, relax next time." I ignored the comment and as we followed the waitress to be seated to our table we decided to walk out instead of being seated. This was the final straw for me. I'm sorry but I'll never support this business again. For a family owned business they are horrible and have lost the concept of a good family owned business. The condescending attitude of the owner the way they handled the food was so unprofessional. I'll be sure to share this story with everyone I know in the city. read more

Take a Saturday walk through Old Town Murrieta and stop in for breakfast at the Mill. They serve a creative menu ... You can't go wrong with any of the well seasoned egg dishes but I highly encourage you to order the plateau potatoes with chicken apple sausage and two eggs easy over. Big enough to share! I'm sort of a coffee snob and was quite surprised they served Folgers! All I can say is that it tasted great. Don't forget to drive down Kalmia a little farther to view the real Mill.
