I decided to give The Mint another chance having had a bad experience several years ago. Had a reservation for Mother's day, took my parents, sorry, will not be going back. When I asked if their tea was fresh brewed I was told yes, but it tasted (and looked) like what I would have made from powdered Lipton. My parents shared Beef Stroganoff which had a dollop of sour cream on top and was made with ground beef. While I didn't taste it, it looked like something that could have been made at home with hamburger helper. I had the salmon, but the red sauce was so overpowering I couldn't taste the salmon, which was overbaked and crispy. Sorry guys, but for the prices you charge, I'm going to go somewhere else. read more

Couldn't of had a more delightful experience at The Mint. We are so happy that this restaurant is under new owners. You can tell by the food and service. I had never been to the Mint before, so I don't know how it used to be, unlike lots of other reviewers. We had dinner here with another couple and thought our food was delicious! The owner made time to come around and chat with us, thanking us for coming in and answering any questions we had. Our server was very nice, but obviously inexperienced, but she sure did try! It just took a while to get our appetizers and we were very hungry, so we had to keep checking with her as she went by. Our main courses were cooked perfectly and so amazing! We asked to meet the chef and he came out to our table, such a nice guy! He told us he was the chef at Plonk for 5 some years and is looking to change the menu this spring, so to come back and try it. He also suggested their desserts for the evening, which were superb! I will be back, the food was great and the atmosphere relaxing. They had a live music the night we were there, which was a nice touch. A very laid back country atmosphere with a touch of sophistication. read more

Ate at The Mint last night and I must say it was delicious! The Mint was reopened Dec 1 under new ownership. The menu is revamped and the place is cleaned up. The food is excellent! This evening our group ordered braised beef shoulder, shrimp and grits, and smoked meatloaf. Each dish was prepared exceptionally well. They were all filling without being too large a portion where quality lacks behind size. My husband and I were very excited to celebrate date night at the Mint and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was cozy, warm and welcoming. From the moment we stepped inside, everyone that we came in contact with went above and beyond our expectations. I started the night off with the bee's knees cocktail, my husband had a margarita and we enjoyed the profiteroles --do yourself a favor and order these! They were fantastic! The cocktails were delicious! Our server, made some great entree suggestions, I had the Faroe Island Salmon which was perfectly seasoned and seared just right, husband raved about his pot roast. Everyone I talked to told me to go to the Mint while staying in Belgrade. I was a little hesitant because of the prices but checked out the menu and figured I could order one of the house specials or something less spendy than the steak. I ended up ordering the meatloaf which was huge and came with real mashed potatoes and gravy. Yum! It also came with broccoli (also huge) but not the best broccoli ever and I didn't eat much of it. I'd prefer they rotate their vegetable side to what's fresh and local instead of one specific vegetable always. However, the rest of the food was delicious. However, it was great to get so much food that spending 13 dollars on a meal was totally worth it. I also got the chance to watch some of the Cats- Vandals game on the tv while I ate and listen to some local live music. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in Belgrade. read more

My husband ate here a year ago and raved about the steaks. During the most recent visit, he ordered a rib eye, expecting the same quality, but was somewhat disappointed because the meat was bland and fatty. I had a much more positive experience with the outstanding halibut, prepared with risotto and a delicious tomato-based sauce. I must stress that the staff was extremely solicitous and apologetic to my husband, and offered several times to replace his dinner with another dish. Additionally, they removed the cost of his dinner from the bill and presented us with three delicious desserts, gratis. Based on the opinions of our friends from Bozeman, I am certain that the quality of my husband's dinner was an aberration and rarely occurs. We will return to The Mint Cafe in the future. read more

We went to "The Mint" this past Saturday night excited to return based on the posirive current reviews. Maybe it was an off night but 2 out of 3 of us ordered the special Prime Rib cut (Medium to Medium Rare) only to have it delivered very rare, tough and nearly 50% full of fat. We've eaten Prime Rib at many nearby restaurants (Ted's, Copper) so know there are good local cuts available but this was very disappointing and expensive (31.00) and made for a poor dining experience. I won't be returning anytime soon. read more
