Loved all the food here!! I was halfway expecting to not like some dishes or that they would have similar tastes to one another but no! Each dish had its own unique flavor. You park in the back and enter from there even though you see it from the street. Service was a little slow. Our food came out at different times and not all together. The lamb dish came out an hour after we ordered and after we had ate everything else. We thought they forgot about it. Luckily we ate family style and not individually. We had our lamb packed to go. The establishment was freezing inside. We asked about the heat and they said it's on 70. I mean the place is covered in huge windows with nothing covering them so maybe that had something to do with it but it was freezing and I kept my coat on the whole time. This made it uncomfortable. The szechuan hakka noodles were my fav and had this smoky/grilled flavor. The green dish had a chutney flavor. We got chicken manchurian momos which were good. The sweet ginger garlic sauce in the orange dish was good and not so sweet like it sounded in the description. Every dishes sauce was so flavorful. Can't go wrong here. Will def be back. read more

The restaurant is in the nice area, it is spacious and its got high chairs for kids to sit down. We like the fact that it is Indian food fusion. We tried the fried rice : desi and chinese fusion i believe, and it was addictingly delish. Then we had chicken vindaloo, the chicken meat was so flavorful and tender! Both eaten together doesnt clash but compliment each other. We ordered spicy and i think it is genuine spicy that my husband was sweating and pacing with ice water. so if you dont like spicy, i suggest going on medium or mild. read more

I feel like The Monk's is one of the biggest hidden gems around! We tried several dishes, and everything was excellent. My husband and I love Indian food and have been to some of the top spots in London and India, and this is right up there. The spicy masala noodles, chicken vindaloo, Monk fries, chicken tandoori, and even the kids' side of fried rice were all seasoned and flavored to perfection. There aren't many Chindian places around (if any others?) and The Monk's is definitely top tier. read more

My family gets takeaway from this place and it's pretty decent. Yesterday we went for the lunch buffet. We were a bit disappointed. Food was mediocre and they were slow to refill the empty platters. I requested naan and didn't get it till the end of my meal. The mini samosas were good. Many of the curries were devoid of meat or paneer. The replenishing was pretty slow. It felt like the kitchen was backed up. The staff was attentive and courteous. Place was clean and bright. Restroom was clean and smelled fresh. This place has immense potential. This was my second visit, and despite being marketed as a fusion restaurant, it feels more like a typical South Indian establishment. The dishes are extremely spicy--so much so that you'll need to dilute them with water or yogurt. Most items seemed to share the same base gravy, so the flavors were very similar; for example, both the chicken and paneer tasted almost identical. The food lacked depth and was just overwhelmingly spicy. The service was adequate but nothing special, and the ambiance was decent, though it was quite crowded. Don't be fooled by the "fusion" label. Looks rather unassuming from th outside, kinda strip mall like. However, once you enter, you will find a rather elegant establishment with ambiance. The service here is great, friendly and efficient. And ou r waiter was nice enough to alert us that the tip was alreay added since we had a party of more than 6. Honesty goes a long way with me. The food options are incredible here. A million things to choose from. Every single thing we ordered was tasty. A few of us had ordered some noodle dishes. These come with a ketchup like sauce and we almost dismissed it as such. I had to try it though and once you put that on the noodles, it changes the dish completely, amazing and much better than we thought it would be. And the hot tea here is fabulous, kind of chai, nice spices, simply delicious. Glad to have an indo-chinese themed restaurant near us finally! We dined in on a Sunday night and they were moderately busy. The tables are well spaced and decor is quiet enough for couples. For appetizer we ordered the Samosa and momo - The momos fillings were just okay and the samosa crust wasn't very flaky. The samosa filling was tasty though. Kids ordered a mango lassi and they seemed to love it. My youngest ordered the kids noodle and paneer Manchurian. She liked her noodles and I tasted her paneer Manchurian and it was good. She also loved her veg spring roll. For dinner between the 3 of us, we shared the street style and Wok tossed noodles. They both were very good, but my favorite would be street style. We also had the chili chicken with gravy and green chili chicken with gravy. The chili chicken was finger licking good and I am glad we had leftovers. The sauce for green chili gravy was very good(and we ordered it spicy), however the chicken didn't seem to carry the same flavors. It almost felt like fried chicken were added as an afterthought to the gravy instead of it being marinaded and cooked with same flavors. We also took couple of pastries to go, and shared some gulab jamuns. Everyone enjoyed their gulab jamuns and the pastries were very good as well. Since we were excited to try out various options, we over ordered and had plenty of leftovers that reheated well. Service was every good and food came out at a very reasonable pace. The servers were also very attentive and open to feedback. We will be headed there for a buffet sometime. I hope they keep getting better and become a permanent fixture here. read more

Food was excellent however...the service was terrible. Missing utensils/napkins, missing items we ordered, incorrect tabs. Servers don't have server skills and barely speak English. They're unable to describe a dish other than impatiently reiterating the name of the sauce as if you're supposed to know the general flavor of it. Sad to say that my dining experience was sub-par. I don't know if this restaurant is a re-branding launch of what was once here before, but I liked the last place a lot better. I got a stomach ache after eating here. The customer service was horrible, nobody checked on us, And when they did they made us feel stupid about the confusing ordering experience, How each table has a QR Code You can scan to order through your phone. Except that menu doesn't match the menu you get when you first are seated. I watched the waiters check on the same 2 tables on the end of the room divider multiple times, And almost pretending to work the room while not actually doing so. Very interesting because they seem to have a lot of staff. nobody really wanted to check on my table... So if that is the case that they need to fix the obline order app to match the menu exactly in restaurant Personally, the way that this restaurant sets their tables grosses me out. Each table is preset so dishes might collect dust as people walk through to their seats. So when I was seated, I noticed that my water glass wasn't totally clean with smudges around the rim. The appetizer was amazing - especially the pani puri corn fritter. Everything else was downhill after this dish. Excessive with the cilantro which I'm not a fan of but otherwise this was fantastic Manchurian noodles: 3/10 These were not it for me. Flavor was okay, but it was overall quite wet and texturally monochromatic. Mango lassi: 10/10 sweet creamy tangy perfect! Garlic naan: 9.4/10 buttery garlicky goodness. You need it! It was confusing at first because they have QR codes on the tables that say you can order and pay on your phone, but they do have waiter service during dinner. Great place! I was seated quickly, and handed a menu. I'm not sure what Lauren down below this review was so confused about- I looked at the menu, asked for suggestions, then ordered what my attentive server recommended- and, in an odd twist of fate, what i ordered wasn't on the menu- it was a KILLER special- a whole fish served tandoori style. I didn't feel compelled to use the bar code to scan the menu, then become hysterical when it didn't match the hard copy- I just ordered like a normal human. The fish was really flavorful and light. Since my dude steered me so right on the fish, I let him pick dessert. That round ball in the middle of that syrup, kinda like an Indian version of pancakes, super sweet, was unbelievable.
