Shortly after, my wife and young child were driving to Albany in a winter storm when the brakes started making a loud banging noise. She was forced to drive in fear for an extended period before finding another Monro location, where a technician discovered one brake caliper bolt was MISSING ENTIRELY and a second was dangerously loose. My wife and child could have been killed. I contacted Fairport manager Kevin, who was completely nonchalant and actually said "the advantage of Monro is you can stop at their other locations." He eventually offered a partial refund -- which was never paid -- then became completely unreachable. I filed a BBB complaint (Case #24733045). In their formal response, Monro corporate ADMITTED the caliper bolt was not properly secured and acknowledged filing an insurance claim for rim damage caused by their negligence. Despite this admission, they are refusing a full refund. The tire pressure light is also still on after their tire service, and the rim was scratched. This is a documented safety failure that endangered my family. Monro looked at my vehicle and didn't find anything wrong with my brakes, just a tad bit of rust on my discs which is expected with the amount of snow and salt exposure we get here. I appreciate the honesty and just for that I will continue and would highly recommend this place to anyone that needs auto services done. Kevin was professional and explained in detail what he recommended I should look for in the future as far as brake wear signs with my vehicle. Thanks for all the great service over the years for all of our vehicles, including the special care for our now 25 year old 2001 Pontiac Firebird. Yesterday, my 2020 Honda CRV 1.5 year old battery died. Turns out it was probably Honda and A/C snafu related. Sarah was awesome with SQUEEEEZING me in at the end of the day and Mike was efficient with the battery change. No charge as it was covered under warranty. All they would take is my thanks.
