Absolute rip-off & rushed through service. I am extremely unsatisfied with this place. I paid $70 for an advertised 40-minute pedicure, but they rushed me out the door in less than 20 minutes. And you can get a sense of the quality of service i received given this compressed timeline... The promised filing, cuticle care, and massage were a complete joke--each step lasted literally 5 seconds. I'm not even kidding. The final result is incredibly sloppy and rough. This was a $40 pedicure at best, yet they charged $70. Horrible quality and a total waste of money. Avoid. read more

Of the four times I've had a signature manicure here since the end of October, half of the time my manicure failed within hours of leaving the salon. Both times I had the same nail tech, June. Failure aside, both times the way she used the nail file on the *skin* around my nails and filed the nail extremely far down the sides was painful. She was also clipping at one of my nail quicks yesterday, which was also very unpleasant. The first time the manicure that she gave me failed was the day before Thanksgiving. I sat under the dryer for at least 30 minutes and my walk home took another 30 minutes. When I emailed the salon shortly thereafter as soon as I realized my nails had badly smudged and chipped, they offered to repair it the Saturday after the holiday, which I appreciated though I still felt embarrassed that my nails looked terrible when I had Thanksgiving dinner with my partner's family. I changed the brand of polish on the redo, thinking it was maybe just that brand. A different nail tech did the redo. In between then and yesterday, I had a signature pedicure that lasted almost 3 weeks with almost zero chipping. Yesterday, I selected one of the Lakur polishes, which has performed well in general on the two non-prematurely failed manicures I had here. I sat under the dryer for 45 minutes in an effort to avoid failure and I was very careful with my hands when I got home another 30 minutes later. I noticed at the four hour mark when I went to shower that my left pinky nail had already smudged very badly. Today, less than 24hr later, 8 of 10 nails have chipping of varying degrees. I noticed yesterday when June was finishing my nails that she wiped the edges with polish remover, as she had to clean up a bunch of spots she got on my skin. I suspect she took the edge of the polish and top coat off when she did that. Luckily I bought this polish color during Black Friday, so I can kind of fix it at home. I won't be going back. I emailed the salon yesterday as soon as I noticed the failure but didn't hear back. I really wanted to like this place and support a local business in my neighborhood, but I can't keep lighting $55 on fire. read more

The Nail Hall is THE place to get your nails done in San Francisco! I've been going to them for the last six years and they never disappoint. All of their nail colors are non toxic and they use LED lights. My nails have never felt healthier and I can do Gel back to back without taking a break since they feel so healthy. They also can do nail art and french tips! I'm writing this on behalf of my husband. He has had many pedicures over the years, some at high end resorts. For a $50 treatment here he DID NOT receive a foot soak, cuticle removal or a massage. The treatment was over before it started and my 6 year old granddaughter could have done a better job cutting his nails. After he complained, they offered to have another technician give him a pedicure. He just wanted to get out of there and said he'd pay $25 for it. How they get away with charging $50 for a pedicure with no soak no massage and no cuticle removal. I do not know but steer clear of this place. read more

She scrubbed the callus fast and the polish had a bit sheer spaces on some nails. The environment is lovely and relaxing. My manicurist was very careful and did an excellent job. I'm famous for ruining my nails by the time I get home but not this time. It's the next day and everything looks perfect. I appreciate the non-toxic products and particularly loved that Annie removed my old gel by filing and then wrapping in polish remover rather than using those awful "sanders." I love the Nail Hall - the people, service, interiors, setup, non-toxic materials, everything. I haven't even come to the best part yet. They have alcohol on tap - wine, CBD kombucha, beer, and if you're craving something warm, they have hot tea too! I am a fan. They also offer subscription, and I am also hooked to that since it keeps me on a routine. The signature subscription basically is the cost of 2 signature manicures in a month, but big benefits of the subscription are you get 10% off on other services like pedicure, and that you get a free drink with each visit! I went in recently for the Signature manicure and pedicure and was less than impressed. The good: - Relaxed, modern environment - Premium non-toxic polishes - Manicure tools arrived sanitized and sealed - They use basins for pedicures, which are more sanitary than jetted tubs - relatively gentle on my cuticles, which is always welcome and the major reason I wanted to try this spot out. - Oil massage and hot towels! The not so good: - Armchairs instead of reclining massage chairs. This is a preference thing, but I find it hard on my back to be in a chair that doesn't recline. - manicure and pedicure done simultaneously. Also a preference thing. I don't find it relaxing to have both done at the same time. I also end up having to twist my upper body around in a way that feels uncomfortable. It seems more salons are doing this now though to save time for the client. - I was offered a few drink options and chose a kombucha, but was informed at checkout that it would be added to my total. Most other salons I've been to, the offered drinks are on the house. I'm down to pay if I know about it up front though. The bad: - The polish job. Unfortunately the worst part of the experience. Some flooding in my cuticle and color on my skin that wasn't cleaned up afterwards. Uneven top coat application and no wrapping of tips. The pedicure was worse, with bubbles in the top coat. This place is incredible. The future of nail salons. The store is so trendy, with deep green armchairs for your pedicures and a bar height counter for manicures. There is fun wallpaper, a neon sign, and plants. I don't get my nails done often,m and the lady at the front helped me so much on what color/style I should go with for my event. I had a great experience here, and I am piiiiiicky about my nails and need them to be done up for work. I got the gel mani with removal and simple nail art. My nail tech was Tram, who was pretty meticulous with my cuticles and shaping. I did jump in a few times to even out my shape but that's not anything abnormal for me! Cost for everything came out about $20-25 more than my typical spots, but for the vibe and non-toxic approach, esp being preggo rn, I thought it was worth it. I Am very happy with the outcome but it seems the nail technicians are maybe not quite as comfortable with "inspo" based original nail art and would rather you just bring in a picture if exactly what you want. I brought pics of artwork that I wanted the nails based on and at first Vi wasn't sure about that but I explained a little more and gave examples about how exactly the nails should look so she agreed. Honestly the price ($155 w/out tip) for a regular pedicure and french nails gel manicure was not worth the quality and "opinion" from the nail tech. 2 people worked for the service the first guy was really nice but seemed to rush everything (maybe cz it was close to closing but still, it's bad for the customer to have a botched job). Before even letting the base coat dry, he already applied the color coat. Then applied another before finally caking on the top coat. I barely walked 2 blocks from the nail salon before my pedi "chipped" and crumpled in one of the toes due to caking on so much nail polish before letting it dry in between coats . This is after having it dried under the fan and doing my gel mani, still didn't fully dried despite wearing flip flops. Worse part is, the second person doing my gel manicure would rather do what he wants on your nails than what you want. I came in with 2 nails a little shorter than the others but in general had gorgeous natural long nails that took me while to grow. They opinionated that it should be cut to make the manicure look even. I told them just shape it, after shaping it the guy left my right thumb looking lopsided and filed so much of my natural nail down, some it stubs. I decided just cut one of the really long ones a little and he had the NERVE TO CUT IT SHORT. I get it as a nail tech u think u know what's best but I'm paying the money to have what I think will suite me and make me happy. What's bad about the gel french mani too was there are corners of my nails that are unpainted and the lines were splotchy and they left gel polish on my wrists that they had to scrub my skin really red to get off. Some parts of my nails also rose at the tips in weird shapes while the rest is flat. At night the corners started to peel as well. For the amount you pay it's not worth it at all. Booked an appointment online and came here on my lunch break for a signature gel pedi. The salon technician continued to get my fresh nail polish attached to the towel on the floor.... It would have been totally fine if this happened once or twice.... but it happened every single time the towel was slightly close to my foot. One day after getting my pedi the polish on the toe that kept getting attached to the towel fell off. I did not see how.. I just looked down and the polish was missing. Not just that - but I exercise a lot and 4 days after getting my nails done - or 3 workouts later - the nail polish has morphed and gathered in the front. Also - gel polish removal is not included in Signature pedi. You will be charged $10 for removal. I wanted them to fix my nail with the removed polish but they are closed on Mondays. Personally I would not spend my money in this nail salon again! I've tried The Nail Hall a few times, and with my first visit I was mostly attracted to the overall ambience of the salon which was calm, quiet, & aesthetically pleasing. It was a basic gel manicure which would be hard to mess up since me and my girls do each others gel manis with ease. I would NOT advise you to get gel removal here either, they only use filing and nail polish remover which means they have to harshly scrub and tug on your natural nails, when I came here for this service the nail tech broke the length of two of my nails which I just blamed on myself for not having tougher nails because I really wanted to like this place! I was never planning on getting gel removal here again because there's many other salons where I've gone that can do it without damaging your natural nails. Luckily they are gentle when prepping your nails for nail polish! This time, I asked for a gel manicure ($55) and french tip application ($15), this was the worst gel manicure and French tip I have ever received and I love getting my nails done! You can see my manicure in the images below, the pictures couldn't capture the edges that didn't even have the French application on them, the French tip is different and uneven on each nail, the French tip is bumpy on every nail, and lastly I had to ask the nail tech to fix the base because they were NOT bothering to paint the sides of my nails which I thankfully checked after the second base coat. They ended up adding uneven layers of polish on the two hands which left me with one hand that has a thicker and blotchier finish. I am extremely disappointed having payed $70 total for this Gel manicure that was NOT done well. I would expect for a nail salon whose whole gist is exclusively doing overpriced non toxic gel manicures to have skilled and competent nail techs that can and want to do a good job on a basic gel manicure on natural nails. Why offer customers to pay a 15 Add-On for French tip nails when you don't have nail techs that can actually do a proper French tip? (Btw I asked for square nails) (I also received a cup of water that had a weird oily-like residue sitting at the top, which I briefly tasted to check if it was lemon water but nope, it was probably residue from not washing the glass cups right). read more

Beauty treatments are my vice. I love to do them and I don't mind the price, as long as what I'm getting for that price makes sense. Some of the best salons in Beverly Hills have been my second home. It's the ambiance, but it's also the talent and hard work. The Nail Hall's prices don't make any sense. Here are my issues: The 5 free is a marketing ploy but that's fine. They charge for beverages....I'm paying $90 for a gel pedi and water isn't even offered? I have ingrown nails. I've never had any issues with having them clipped. I've never needed a medical pedicure. My technician sat and picked my skin for an hour (really aggravating) and although I asked her to clip the nail, she wouldn't. Now, if someone is uncomfortable doing something that's fine but if you can't clip a nail you shouldn't be doing them. The owner said they aren't trained to do that. ??? lol. I went on vacation and had to pay someone else to fix them because I was in pain. The neon light, foot soak, and plants are not enough to justify their prices. I was offered champagne or a drink when I explained my frustration (which I didn't get a response to initially until I emailed again). Don't do it. read more

The Nail Hall is a fabulous oasis nestled in the heart of SoMa. The interior has a beautifully warm color palette with natural woods, plants, and pleasing-to-the-eye art pieces. Denise was my nail tech, and I received the Deluxe gel manicure treatment, which included a lovely hand scrub, non-toxic eco wax hand treatment, and an incredibly soothing hand massage. I've also been wearing long acrylic nails for over a year, so naturally my nail beds are looking ROUGH and I wasn't so sure if my natural nails could be saved. But alas, Denise worked magic on my beaten up nails and I am very happy with my manicure. This salon prioritizes non-toxic ingredients in the products they use, and a surprising benefit from that is that the salon doesn't smell like a traditional salon. It's nice to not have to put up with chemical smells for the sake of a manicure for once. The hand scrub was infused with natural botanicals and oils, which added to the experience as literally *nothing* smelled of chemicals. Just the comforting aroma of citruses and sandalwood (that is what you'll find in the "Awake" scrub blend - you can choose from 3)! They also have a drink menu that has refreshing offers like mimosas, beer, and cbd kombucha. I cannot stress how delicious the kombucha is, I would happily come back to this salon between treatments just for that kombucha! I haven't shopped within their retail selection yet, but from what I saw they offer at-home nail treatments that are priced extremely well for a salon this luxurious. All in all, you need to visit The Nail Hall. I have been to plenty of salons in San Francisco as well as the surrounding Bay Area and this place is one of my top choices.
