Terrific place to go! Whether solo dining, date night or family this place felt so perfect for any occasion. I came here due to my wine club having their popup here and so glad they chose this spot! Everyone was friendly and the food was delicious. Of course the wine was as well!! I got the ahi tuna burger which was so flavorful and kept raw with touch of seared which I love. I chose sweet potatoe fries which were yummy. To start we had the corn and that was absolutely a must order. The owner couldn't have been sweeter. Hope to be back soon!

The other day I was walking around the area and stumbled on this cute little spot. Today I went in for lunch with my friends and we were seated right away at one of their comfy tables. Joe instantly brought us water in chilled glasses which signaled to me that this place understands how the smallest of details can elevate the guest experience. The entire space feels well thought out, from the cozy green seats to the framed photos hanging across the bathroom walls. I tried the short rib sandwich and my friends ordered the cod sandwich and the Roosevelt burger. They cooked the burger perfectly and the cod was crispy, flakey, and juicy. I recommend asking for an extra side of tartar sauce for the cod sandwich and extra caramelized onions for the short rib sandwich, not because it needs it but because they're addictively good. My short rib sandwich was delicious, tender, and stacked with meat. Their drink menu includes some nostalgic bubbly favorites I am excited to try next time, like Shirley temple and cream soda. They also offer coffee from a local coffee shop which impressed me. Service was relaxed, but attentive. Joe glided through tables seamlessly and timed check ins perfectly, so it was easy to keep conversations flowing and still make requests. At the end, Joe handed us our check in a cute little hardcover book which is such an adorable touch. While it wasn't overbearingly hot inside, I think a fan or some ac would have sweetened the experience a little more. I would be mindful of the weather when planning your visit if the heat is too overwhelming. Although, summer feels like the perfect time to enjoy their milk shakes and floats. I can't wait to experience this cozy restaurant in the fall and dine in their patio when the weather cools down a bit.

Oof. What to say about this place. Ambience: Ithought it was nice. My daughter said it was the whitest place she'd ever been to, but I thought the combination of vintage items and modern decor worked. Food: we both ordered burgers, the chicken sandwich and a turkey burger. They were both very good. The salads were so so and the dressing was different for each sandwich. The one they gave us for the chicken sandwich was better than the oily mess I got for the burger. Cleanliness: honestly we were both freaked out about this. All of the glasses seemed vaguely dirty as did the silverware. There were bits of something floating around in the water in the water glass. My suspicion is they're using some cheapi detergent -- level up people. Use something that makes your glasses and silverware clear. I don't know what the bits were floating around in the water. It was unappetizing, and we almost walked out because of it. Service: the server was relatively attentive, so no complaints there. A little weird in terms of the fact that she was really pushing the alcoholic drinks, but whatever. She was fine. Overall? I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but if you're in the neighborhood, maybe give them a shot. There's not a lot there. It's pretty much this place, a couple of coffee shops, or the Italian place down the street. Take your pick!

They get 4 stars more so for the service and the atmosphere. Love the decor in the restaurant and if love vintage like me the bathrooms are so nicely decorated and it feels like you've stepped back in time - in a good way. All of the employees were very nice and attentive. They were pretty busy when we went but still made sure to check in on us. They have indoor and outdoor seating which I love. As for the food, loved my fries and my boyfriend liked his buffalo wings but the salads weren't great. The dressing was barely there and didn't have much a taste. My steak was cooked great but we wouldn't order them again. However we saw some people who got burgers or ordered off the dinner menu so we'll definitely go back and try something else.

House made vegan burger oh so good.

Absolutely loved this place and I can't believe I had never stopped in before. The service was incredible and you can tell that they have a lot of regulars. The space itself is so homey and eclectic. I ordered the vegan burger, which was made in house and it was delicious...could have used a bit more seasoning/salt but I'll just ask for a shaker next time. My Chardonnay hit the spot and I think I found a new favorite in Burbank. Parking can be a bit difficult in this busy stretch of Magnolia, but we managed to find a spot about a block away.

After picking up my shoes from Deluxe Shoe Repair I stopped in to The New Deal for lunch and it was a great experience. The vibe reminds me of my favorite spring and fall visits to Napa and Yountville. The restaurant is simple yet elegant with great "American Song Book" music playing in the background. Had the Blue Eagle burger which was very good and a glass of their house red wine that was reasonable prices and very good! I will be back!

I recently had a delicious lunch with my daughter at The New Deal, and I must say, the experience was lovely. The restaurant exudes a cozy vintage vibe, making it an inviting spot. Its location is ideal, nestled right in Magnolia Park, surrounded by some of my favorite vintage shops. Our server, Mindy, was an absolute gem. Despite being busy, she was friendly and attentive, ensuring we felt well taken care of. I opted for the turkey burger with sweet potato fries, and the addition of pesto really enhanced the flavor of the burger. The sweet potato fries were a standout too, I enjoyed them !Since it was happy hour, I treated myself to a glass of house red wine, which complemented the meal nicely. My daughter chose the classic All American burger with fries, and she really enjoyed it as well.I'm already looking forward to my next visit, where I plan to try something new from their menu!

I had a great time when I was visiting! I got a brisket burger and it was damn good!!! Service was on point, food is yummy and loved sitting outside- perfect place to people watch and read a book!

    Patty Melt

The staff were a little overeager to take our order, coming back to the table very quickly after giving us menus. I don't think it'd even been five minutes since we'd been given the menus! But they were also happy to give us a little longer, and came back when we were ready to order. The patty melt I got was...not great, to be honest. The cheese had little flavor, or what flavor it did have was overpowered by tarragon. The house made chips were nice! The bathroom honestly kind of creeped me out. There was way too much going on, and the lights were very dim, so it sort of felt like antiques were looming at you in the darkness. In another setting, I would've found all the items very interesting to look at, but not with my pants down! Overall, I'm not sure if I'd be back. Some of their other dishes sounded interesting and I did enjoy the overall aesthetic of the restaurant.

There's street parking to get here. The vintage decor is really neat and has a chill vibe. It's a fairly cozy restaurant with limited seating both indoor and outdoors. There's a sunday brunch menu but also a main menu. The service was quick and staff were really nice. The Roosevelt burger was great! You can have the patty cooked to your preference. The bacon is nice and juicy. The fries remind me of In n Out's fries. Which I don't mind. But you can get homemade chips instead as a side. The food is slightly on the pricey side but it's definitely worth a chance to try. I would return to try other menu items.

The New Deal is a wonderful addition to Burbank's Magnolia Park area. It's a great starting point for weekend brunch and mimosas, then some spins through the boutiques and novelty shops, ending with coffee at one of the cafes further down Magnolia Blvd. It's an eclectic, attractive, space, reminiscent of NoHo's Idle Hour or other 1933 Group establishments: the type of place to call drinks "libations" and encourage their staff to sport bowties and twirly mustaches. Appreciated touches of whimsy include tables decoupaged with deco-era newspapers and pretty art labels on the glass table water bottles. Quaint appearances aside, the service is excellent, the drinks are delicious, and the food is outstanding. We started with a round of tasty Aperol spritzes, and selected two items from the brunch and lunch menu: skirt steak eggs benedict and the beef short rib sandwich. The benny was great with tender steak and perfect hollandaise, and the short rib sandwich was phenomenal: flavourful beef, a tangy aioli, perfectly caramelised onions, fresh rocket, and a pillowy soft ciabatta roll. I chose a side of fries instead of house chips with my sandwich, and they were remarkably, perfectly cooked. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Even on busy weekends, there's plenty of free street parking down Avon. Brunch here was a delight, and we're looking forward to coming back to try the dinner menu.

Absolutely love this gem of a restaurant! Superb choice in music. Amazing food, you can't go wrong with any menu item. Wonderful service!

    Delicious mimosas

Not even going to lie this is my new favorite spot. Went twice in a week. I've tried the short rib sandwich and the fried chicken sandwich. The short rib sandwich was amazing. The fried chicken sandwich was okay. I ordered both sandwiches with fries ranch and ketchup - their ranch is good. They're a lil skimpy on the fries here but not a deal breaker. I also love their mimosas. The bubbly and orange juice is chefs kiss. I drink the first one down fast bc it taste so good. Next time ill add pics of the food. Their menu look solid and I'm excited to try more things on their menu including the short ribs as an entree.

When I came, they were having like a bingo night so there were some people participating in it. I got the 8 inch Kali Mist sub and got my wife the same order. I customized my sub by asking for the avocado on the side and without pickle or onion. Mu wife sub was just with no tomatoes. The drinks options here are amazing, you have kool aid! They also have different kind of tea as well. This place also has a bar where you can get drinks. There enough seating to accommodate for most guest but I was just taking to go. They didn't take long to make my order and I had a great time chatting with the person preparing my order. He was very nice and energized with a upbeat attitude. He let me know that the sandwich was labeled so I would know which sub was which with the customization. It's street parking here or you can try to park in the little garage in the back, I just walked here. My sandwich was delicious and has a little kick to it. I will recommend that if you get the Kali Mist, you should eat it while it's fresh for the best taste. The sub will fill you up because it has so much toppings in it and they give you a decent amount too. My wife loved her sub as well beside the bacon since I forgot to ask for that on the side. If I'm back in the area with my friends, I would recommend coming here to them.

It was good with a lot of chicken and cheese. I got it with onions peppers no mushrooms. Cause that's how I like my cheesesteaks. You have two options for size. A six or nine inch. I went with the nine inch. I'm not sure if I was just done but 6" with all of the meat would have been plenty. It ended up being a little on the salty side. The chicken was in chunks which made it a little unpleasant versus having the chicken in thin strips. At the end I enjoyed it but definitely think I would do the traditional Philly if I make it back. I would give 3.5 stars if possible but giving this place the benefit of the doubt based on other reviews and my choice of sandwich.

I looked over the menu and ultimate decided on the large size Italian Combo sandwich, rather than the recommended Fancy Italian Combo ((which has different proteins and a special roll). I was quite happy with it, certainly substantial in size, good flavor from multiple meats, lots of shredded lettuce. I even dipped it in the residual juices from the side tomato-cucumber salad and loved that too! The sandwich can be made into a combo that comes with 2 sides and a fountain drink. Here I found that the quality was not as good as the sandwich. The tomato-cucumber salad was the right amount of oil/vinegar, the fruit and vegetable were fresh, very solid option. The pesto on pasta shells was underwhelming. I do like me some pesto, but here it was more for visual and aroma than taste. I would try other sides before getting this one again. Lastly, the taste of their Diet Coke was odd. I thought they had given me half and half with regular coke, so I asked for them to pour me a new one, and it ended up tasting the same ‍ Given the variable quality of sides and drinks, I think I would come back primarily for the entree items, and probably evaluate my other preferred sandwich the Meatball.

I parked my car at the NOHO West parking garage, which is shared with the many businesses here. The place was pretty empty with some nice music playing overhead and a few TVs playing. For drinks, they have some bottled/refrigerated options, fountain drinks, and lemonades. I took a moment to study their LARGE menu and deciced with the following: Grand Stand Turkey Sandwich - $13.75 (roasted turkey breast, peppadew caraway spread, bacon, avocado, lettuce, red onion, fresh dill on griddled sourdough). I also got a Chimichurri Steak Salad - $16.25 (grilled steak, kale and mixed greens, crispy quinoa, green apple, mint, sliced cucumber, cherry tomatoes, corn salsa, chimichurri, charred corn vinaigrette). To finish it off, I got a regular sized order of Sweet Potato Fries ($4.99) and asked for a side of Sourdough bread for my salad. (50¢ for one slice). Didn't get any drinks. Natalie was the employee that helped me and she was very sweet, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. She got everything in my order correct and they got it done in about 10 minutes. Very fast and very fresh! My food tasted delicious and I loved all the flavors and textured together. Great combinations and very flavorful. The fries were nice and crispy, just how they should be. They have some cookies available to purchase by the register, or you can try one of their shakes. They also serve beer and wine here. They have a gender neutral restroom, but I didn't need to use it. Next time, I'm going to come and eat here in person. If you're in the mood to sit outside, you can also dine on their patio. They have 13 locations in LA and were established in 2013.
