The Nugget offers Saturday and Sunday brunch now; the chilaquiles are so delicious! We also ordered Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo and it was so filling. Every time I come I'm always amazed by their service and food. It's a nice place to enjoy an intimate dinner. Sometimes it does get pretty packed at dinner time, though we're always able to snag a booth!

Very casual treatment upon arriving to dine alone, don't know if that was because I was alone or if they are always like this. The abrupt behavior continued throughout the order process. I ordered Nugget Nuggies (so-called "tempura" chicken) and a Cheeseburger & Fries. Botomless soda was a good thing, but it lacked big bubbles and tasted like Pepsi instead of Coke. I also ordered Meatloaf dinner to-go with mashed potatoes. The tables are really high in the booths, luckily they moved because it hit my belly!! They were quick to bring the soda, and did bring napkins. While I waited I had to listen to men speaking bombastically from the bar area and one table. The first soda refill was fast, but not the rest of them throughout my meal. The chicken nuggets were hot but dried out, the fries were skinny and not very seasoned, I asked for more Ranch to dip them in. I liked that the cheeseburger had a medium-rare option, but the burger tasted like nothing!! I had to add salt. Also, the romain lettuce got cooked by the meat. Meatloaf was very spicy and the mashed potatoes were garlic mashed potatoes. Neither of this was mentioned in the menu!! I couldn't even eat the mashed potatoes and had to drink a lot of water while I ate the meatloaf due to the spiciness. I will definitely not go here again. In fact the only reason I went here was because this was the restaurant where my late aunt and I used to meet up for our birthdays (she lived in Thousand Oaks and I live in Morro Bay - so it was sort of half-way). To be honest I can't believe it is still there all these years later, I suspect it is the regulars that support it, mostly at the bar.

I didn't even know there was a Nugget in Goleta until a friend recommended it. It was pretty crowded inside but we were seated right away. When I went to the restroom I noticed they have a huge outdoor patio in the back. Our server was super friendly. The wine was priced really well and they have a decent local selection. I enjoyed my burger. Probably not a new regular spot for me but if you're looking for a well-priced sit down restaurant in the area it has good vibes.

American standards for an American palate. Not really for foodies. I've been there 4-5 times with friends and everything is average. Club sandwich looks to be one of the better items. Meatloaf is...meatloaf. Grilled salmon tastes like the char of the grill, so not my style. Jalapeño poppers are good. $4 up charge for baked potato.... missed that detail, oops. Definitely a locals' haunt. Loud and popular, but solidly meh.

Went back again for weekend brunch. It was really busy and the service was great. Had the Prime Rib Benedict, Breakfast Burrito and the pancakes. Everything was fantastic

Never returning after having mediocre experiences that eventually culminated in the worst case of food poisoning I've had in 20 years.

The biggest highlight revolved around the staff working so hard making sure everything was cleared for us as well as making sure if any food orders were missing or there was someone missing their food. I ordered the chicken sandwich and I was absolutely blown away by how large it was and how flavorful their steak fries were. I'll have to try ther barbecue the next time I'm around!

This visit was unfortunately our worst experience there by far. It was the first time we'd sat in the dining room instead of the bar. It was early - around 5:00. The happy hour buffalo chicken sliders and Brussels sprouts were good. However, things went downhill with our entrees. My tri-tip dinner (ordered medium rare) arrived as two thin slices of medium rare covering three slices of gray, well-done meat underneath. It was tough and tasted old - it seemed like the kitchen was trying to hide poor quality, overcooked meat. My partner's ribeye was cooked to the right temperature but extremely gristly - only about half of the twelve ounces was actually edible. When I sent my tri-tip back, our server (who was genuinely trying to help) returned to say they were out of tri-tip and a new one would take 45 minutes. By then my partner was halfway through his steak. I asked to just have the meat removed and I'd just eat my sides. Here's where it went from bad to worse: the manager (owner's daughter) charged us $7 each for the sides as "à la carte" items and argued when I explained I only ate them because that's all I had. She eventually offered 50% off the entrée but her confrontational attitude made things worse. The owner was more understanding when we escalated it to her, but the damage was done. Our server did her best in a tough situation - the issues were with the kitchen and management's handling of the problem. Really heartbroken about this experience at a place we've loved. We'll probably try again someday but will stick to burgers and salads at the bar.

However our last two visits did not stand up to the quality and service we have come to appreciate and love. We often go to Happy Hour where we often get pop rock shrimp and shrimp tacos but on our last visit the shrimp was not the usual. They seemed to be over cooked and not as tasty. We realize this can be an off day so we did try again last week; taking our granddaughters to dinner. Unfortunately again the quality and service was not our usual experience. The pop rock shrimp was again not as tasty and service started out great but quickly deteriorated. Our server forgot our bread after stating twice he would bring some. Everyone around us arriving after us had been given bread and we had not received ours yet. I had to get up and hunt the server down. Our meals did come timely minus the bread, but afterwards service dwindled. They did come back eventually and the granddaughters decided they would like dessert. We ended up waiting around 20 minutes for the dessert and apparently it had been sitting for a while as the ice cream and whipped cream was quite melted. My husband asked to talk with the manager and although he apologized he seemed very uninterested in hearing about our experience. He said sorry and left. Our dinner from beginning to end took from around 6:30 pm to end of dessert almost 9:00 pm This was only due to having lots of wait time for service. Not the best experience. I do hope they can get back to consistency of great food and service. But we may have to take a break from Lure for a while.

On top of that, the ingredients were distributed completely unevenly between the two halves. I literally had to take both halves apart and redistribute everything myself just to make it edible. Nothing about this felt fresh. I also swapped the "house-made chips" for tater tots -- which turned out to be the exact Ore-Ida frozen tots you buy at the grocery store, and even worse... they were undercooked and mushy. I am willing to bet I just paid $16 for about $2.50 worth of ingredients. For $16, this was not just underwhelming -- it was bad, REAL BAD. Do NOT order this sandwich.
