This was really an unexpected gem of a find. We got lost and landed here in need of food with a van full of hungry kids (5 and under) in the late afternoon. It wasn't much to look at from the outside, but when we were seated next to the America tree and the fireplace I knew this southern native visiting friends in the PNW was among his ppl. Everyone enjoyed the food, including the worlds pickiest 3yo. He gave it two thumbs up, or the actual equivalent of eating three fries and a bite of his grilled cheese. In all seriousness my burger was awesome and lived up to the hype on the menu and the PBR hit the spot. If you're looking for good food and a chill atmosphere, give it a shot! read more

So I call in my order on a Wednesday evening, which they take and then advise me it will take 50 minutes to get ready. I thank them and tell them I will see them then. Figuring they must be slammed I give them an hour and 10 minutes. When I walk in the door the waitress is telling the people in front of my that it will take an hour to get any food. Sure am glad I called ahead. The hostess tells me to go the bar to get my to go order. As soon as I get there and give my name I am presented with a bill for my food. I look around and don't see any bags, I asked the server when my food would be ready. She says she'll check. She talks to the cooks in the window, brings out food for another patron, stops to check if another table wants more drinks and then proceeds to go pour those beers. I walk up to her and ask her if she found out when my food is going to be ready. She replies "uh they didn't give me an answer". Disgusted with her lack of customer service I give her back her bill and walk out. Then I think, wait did she even ask them? So I go ask them and the poor guys in the back pick up a link of receipts that have kicked out of their machine that has to be at least 30 tickets long and I can see they are so far into the weeds that they can't find their way out with a box of road maps and a 12 man wrecking crew. About that time I am scolded by an irate bartender and admonished that I am not allowed to talk to the people that are supposed to know whats going on. Well now its actually an hour and 25 minutes of my life that I gave up waiting for this food and that is more than enough. No concern for the customer was exhibited by anyone other than the overworked cooks. Somehow, these servers think that their customers have to put up with their lousy customer service. I thought it was real cute the way they wanted me to pay for my food right away but they had no idea of when I would receive it. I wonder if they have the seated customers pay for their food in advance too? The food here is typically not bad, but the service is terrible and totally un-apologetic about it. read more

I read some of the reviews and I can not understand any of the bad reviews. I had the build a burger, Bloody Mary, and beer. The burger was perfect, exactly the way I asked for it to be cooked. The extra toppings that you can get were great and a big selection. The Bloody Mary was made spot on! To top off our visit, the service could not have been better. We were checked on twice after the food came and several times though out. My glass was never totally empty and our server was there asking if we were ok or needed another. I never give 1 stars but I also never not finish my meal. first, the wings were raw. sadly I had three before I realized it since they were doused in sauce. the pasta was so soft and the wine sauce was basically the same gravy that was served in a soup which was a salty goop. the meat in the prime rib dip was slimy. the manager did comp the wings which was great since we only had three and they were raw. read more

I came here because my mother lives in Sequim and I was in town for a visit. She swore by this place so I didn't think much of it. When I walked in my first thought was "Mom, what the hell are you thinking?" but she's usually on her game so I gave it a shot. Shortly there after I wanted to be the one shot! The service was slow, awkward and just plain not good. She would disappear for long periods where she could be seen having a great time behind the bar while our food sat in the window getting cold. I was told that the prime rib was really good and their clam chowder was fantastic.... I'd love to tell you how they are but they had neither. None.. zero... nada. I was ready to go at this point but mom insisted that we stayed... crap! I ordered a burger and fries and asked that the fries be upgraded to chili cheese fries.. We may be able to salvage this meal yet. The food arrives after what seemed like (because it was) an eternity and the burger looks ok but I see I have naked fries... no chili, no cheese. I inquire about the garnish that was to accompany my fries and she retorted "Oh, the cook said we were out of chili! It's Friday night and they're out of everything I've tried to order... LAME! I eat my burger and it's just ok. A fairly generic burger I could have made at home for much less. I did try a wedge of my cousin's quesadilla with chicken and it was pretty good. We wrap up eating and see a sign across the room stating "Try our home made desserts." so we inquired as to what the desserts might be... You guessed it, OUT of dessert! The owner came by and inquired about our experience and mom stifled me so I bit my lip which may have been a good thing since she frequents the joint. She said the waitress must be new because she'd never seen her before and I replied "Well then they should know she sucks so they can hire s suitable replacement" (dirty look from mom for that one) Anyhow, when I return to visit mom next time if she insists on eating here I'll let her eat alone. Our visit to The Oasis was...bizarre. I guess we should've been clued in by the fact that the patrons in this "sports bar" on a Saturday night were all in their 70s. (We are nearly 40 and there was no one close to our age, except the staff.) I'm guessing that was due to the "live band", which was one old guy (mid-60s) playing oldies and doing a bad Neil Diamond impersonation. Loudly. On the other hand, this place would've earned 4 stars if the food was the only factor. My Chicken Picatta was nice. Not overdone, juicy and flavorful. The from-frozen onion rings were decent. The Scallops with Pesto Linguini were cooked well and it was very good, albeit a tad greasy. Our service could have been better. The place had maybe 3 tables when we arrived, but it got progressively busier. However, there were only two bartenders/waitresses and they weren't very prompt filling requests. All in all, if you enjoy loud, badly done oldies you will LOVE this place. Otherwise, go on a night when there is no "live band". read more

We ate here for the first time & ended up going twice in one week. Both meals were great! Had the Prime Rib Special one night & the $7 Steak Special on a Thursday. I figured how good could a $7 steak be? It was delicious! You could order two if you'd like but you do get a boatload of perfect fries. Good service & we will be back. Local feel. Tried to go here for lunch but it was my whole family and they aren't yet licensed for anyone under 21. They were still friendly to us and said the kids couldn't come in but they were working on getting that changed, hopefully in a few weeks. We asked if we could order to go and they were happy to oblige so we got an order of onion rings. They were GOOD. Had trouble convincing DH to come here as it just looks like a bar from the outside. The setup is actually quite good as it has TVs, a pretty specific "bar" area, and even a little area with an electric fireplace that looks to be geared to those who don't really want to eat in a bar. I ordered the bacon cheese burger and DJ had fish and chips. Both were surprisingly tasty. Well seasoned burger, good Orings, tasty fish and good skin-on fries. I appreciated that the bun on my burger held up to the filling, and was clearly fresh. DH also got a side of the mac and cheese and he really liked it. We did not have time for dessert, but I can't wait to try some next time. I can see how this place can get noisy/busy, but we experienced neither of these issues. I will say that people arrived steadily as we ate, so it's not a secret that they have good food! read more
