Oh my Lord! This little truck served the best ice cream sandwich I've ever had. I've dreamt about it since. Delicious chocolate chip cookies, perfect ice cream and friendly service. If you've got a sweet tooth and are craving ice cream, you will not be disappointed here!

I've been wanting to try out The Orange Cow for a while now; doing a little mini food truck tour, I found them in front of the Smithsonian's American Art & Portrait, along with a handful of other trucks during the lunch rush. The Orange Cow is known for their hand-dipped ice cream made with natural ingredients. Their menu lists their ice cream flavors (Coffee Oreo, Green Tea, Chocolate Oreo, Peanut Butter Cup, Mint Chocolate Chip, Coconut Chocolate Crunch, and Banana Cream Pie), 'Mini' Fudge Brownie Sundae, Ice Cream Sandwiches (your choice of ice cream between two chocolate chip cookies), Frozen Banana on a Stick, Homemade Ice Pops, and Floats. Don't be shy in asking for samples, as the employee is very friendly and lets you taste as many samples as you want. I tried their Coffee Oreo (sooo delicious - concentrated coffee taste with bits of Oreo cookies throughout) and their Banana Cream Pie (sooooo good, as this was banana-y and yummy; literally a banana cream pie in an ice cream form!); both were so creamy! I chose to get an Ice Cream Sandwich with the Coffee Oreo; the chocolate chips in the cookies were large-sized and had plenty of chocolate chips throughout. The scoops of the Coffee Oreo ice cream were quite generous, which I really appreciated! I also purchased one of their Homemade Ice Pops - the 'Gummy Bear Lemonade,' which I've yet to try, but am pretty excited, as it's a long tube full of lemonade 'ice' with a handful of colorful gummy bears within :D I'd love to check out their Frozen Banana on a Stick as well as their floats next time. Service was super friendly and oh-so-nice, and you even get a little loyalty card (where 10 initials gets you a free scoop!); also, try to listen for their cowbell! :P Check their social media, as they update it daily on their location for the day :D +Banana Cream Pie ice cream! :D +Coffee Oreo ice cream! :D +Gummy Bear Lemonade pop +all-natural ingredients! +friendly employee! :D +Loyalty card (10 initials gets you 1 free scoop!) +check their social media for daily locations

This place is udderly delicious. I come here once a week on cheat day for a delicious afternoon dessert. Tried most of the things on the menu and I have to say none of the choices are bad MOOOOVES. The ice cream sandwich is heavenly. The owner is extremely friendly and loves talking to his patrons.

Classic ice cream flavors while offering a couple twists here and there like Coffee & Oreo. Note: They offer HUGE ice cream portions in a waffle bowl so if you're craving a boatload of ice cream, The Orange Cow is for MOO! I wouldn't even call them scoops, it was more like almost a pint of ice cream (not complaining). See pictures. Delicious, creamy, and wonderful. Try it! :)

Finally a Food Truck selling a product you expect to get out of a moving vehicle, ice cream and other sweet goodness. I ordered the Strawberry Shortcake and it was definitely 6 dollars well spent. The cake was moist and flavorful, the strawberry topping fresh and delicious, the whipped cream was the perfect amount and a nice add on and the vanilla ice cream was cool and refreshing. This truck is definitely worth a try, especially as the days are starting to get warmer, check it out for sure.

Had the Ice Cream Sandwhich today. YUUUU...UUUUMMMY!!!! Soft delicious Chocolate chunck cookie with a thick, creamy and oh so delicious Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. There are other flavors of Ice Cream, I chose that. My belly is VERY happy right now. Next time I'll try a sundae...welll maybe. The only thing I would change is that it'd be awesome to see him use homemade whipped cream and homemade sauce options. If you're gonna offer homemade Ice Cream, don't stop there....keep goin! Other than that, I highly recommend this truck!

This was the perfect lunch time find in the food truck park on a super hot day. The line was long but the crew inside worked quickly and we got our sundaes pretty fast - don't be too intimidated if the line is long - it's worth the wait. The mini fudge brownie sundae was great! There's also a good size list of fun ice cream flavors which I look forward to trying next time we're in D.C.

Amazing ice cream sandwiches!! There were about a dozen flavors and I sampled a few - I really liked the coffee cookies and cream and regular cookies and cream. Since the price is the same for a brownie sundae, a cup of ice cream, or a cookie sandwich - I went with the cookie sandwich - which proved to be an excellent choice! The cookies are soft and the ice cream isn't too hard. It got a little messy (totally worth it!), so I recommend getting a few extra napkins. Will be back for more, would definitely recommend!

As we were eating our lunch from Chef Driven, we suddenly saw this orange truck come on to the street. When we read the side of the truck and saw the words ice cream, it was like a gift from God. The flavour selection isn't massive, but when i read coffee Oreo, i was sold. The combination of coffee and chocolate is classic, yet it has not been mass produced, the flavours were dynamic. For a single scoop, it cost $3.50, and the portion was generous. The ice cream wasn't' air whipped, it was thick and creamy. Overall, The Orange Cow serves legit ice cream, and the fact that they are out of a food truck is amazing.

Coffee and Oreo you say? I'm already jittery from all the coffee I've had today plus I'm gluten intolerant so my answer is a resounding "Yes! I will have that and also put some mint chocolate chip in there!" I'll let the future version of my body worry about my horrible decisions when it comes to calories and sugar. Stupid future self, what an idiot he is.

They have a great list of unique rotating flavors, and it's always fun to come back to try out their new seasonal releases. A few of my favorites over the years have been their hibiscus sorbet -- a delightful dairy-free addition to their Hispanic Heritage Month flavors that is the perfect balance of tangy and sweet -- the cinnamon cardamom -- a super spiced ice cream that, despite being freezing cold, feels like you're about to drink a warm beverage -- and blueberry sour cream crumble. When I'm feeling less adventurous, they also have a really solid strawberry ice cream that uses real berries (none of that artificial nonsense you see in grocery stores) with a delightful fruity, slightly tangy flavor. There's usually a pretty long line, but it moves quite quickly since they don't allow samples. It's also a small space that gets crowded pretty easily, so I'd recommend taking your ice cream to go and enjoying it as you walk around Mt Pleasant or on the benches just below the entrance to Mount Desert.

Unfortunately, they had a sign posted saying they weren't offering samples, which was a bit of a bummer since I wanted to try some of the more unusual flavors before deciding. I ended up getting a single cup with two flavors: Thai tea and Vietnamese coffee. Both were delicious and had strong, authentic flavor profiles without being overly sweet. Service was quick, and while there is some seating inside, it's fairly limited. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would come back to try some of their other creative flavors. My only real complaint is the no-samples policy, especially with so many unique options on the menu.

When I stopped by, it was raining heavy, but the walk from the metro was totally worth it. I stepped inside, heard some great R&B jams playing, and I made my way to work that amazing smell was coming from. Along the way, I passed some cute merch -- insulated bags and more. And then there was a freezer with all of their pints, ice cream sandwiches, and ice cream cakes. I got up to where the scoops are being served, and there was a very helpful sign next to it with all of the descriptions. I appreciate it the thorough breakdown of what has allergens, what has dairy, and what is vegan. I pretty much tried everything. My favorites were the vegan ones (spiced peanut crunch, tamarind spice), the spiced date cake, saffron pistachio, mangos & cream, black forest... I could keep going. I split a generous scoop of the spiced date cake & saffron pistachio and it was divine. I could've gotten some cool toppings too, but decided not to. It was $8 as is XD. It's definitely a splurge, but a unique flavor profile like this I think it's totally worth it. The pints are $12, which also isn't bad for something this unique imo. I'll be back to get some pints. It's awesome that it's in Brooklyn too, so my sister can explore it as well.

I was so excited, in fact, that I waited in line on opening day. While the flavors were indeed exciting, I found the flavor to be muted. I was picturing intense Indian spice that hits you in the face, only to be confronted with very mild flavor. I've been a few times since opening, and I think it's fine, but it doesn't live up to expectations. I've found the soft serve to be better than the hard ice cream, but it almost has too creamy of a texture. The yogurt soft serve flavor with cardamom was the best thing I've tasted there. The ambiance is fine, there is a small patio for warm days. The last time I was there the inside smelled like sewage, eeek!

I said absolutely not. I need to see it. She proceeds to just keep standing there to try and force me to pay without seeing my bill. I have never been at an establishment that not only will not let you see your bill, but tells you to pay and then you can see your bill. She does this about three times and we're at a standstill to the part where I say I will leave if you do not show me my bill and I can call and pay for it afterwards and then she's able to go to the register and get a copy of my bill which it shouldn't have been that difficult and then I say I would actually like to talk to the manager. 6. The manager was pointless. If I was a manager, I would be completely remorseful and apologetic and he was neither. the main question he kept asking was is there something wrong with the bill. Which I responded, what's going on a customer should be able to see the bill without going through all these hoops and he asked me again. Was there a question about the Bill. I responded again. I should be able to see my bill without all of these other their questions. This was a disappointing experience at a restaurant. They drove out of my way to go to. A customer should not have to call a manager over just to see a copy of their bill. To keep standing there after I said I want to a copy expecting me to pay without seeing the bill is wild and unacceptable. And a manager should absolutely handle it better when their employees doing this. Bad customer service.
