Oldest saloon on the streets. This place was great. The feeling of the Wild West is here for sure. Being in the same spot of the outlaws and sheriffs of gun slangin is a great opportunity to not miss! Bartender was great and knows her shit. Worst bar manger. We have been coming to the Palace for years, back when Holly, Nick and Jasmine attended the bar. Exceptional personality for the Palace considering the history of the saloon. Now the current bar manager Rachel is extremely belittling to customers if her tip is not appropriate. We questioned our bill of 185 dollar including the purchase of a tshirt. , she got extremely upset because we tipped her less than she expected. We explained we tipped her on our drinks and food and not on shirt. Mind you food comes out cold, steak undercooked on multiple occasions, but we enjoyed the rituals of coming into town. Needless to say we will not be coming back nor will I recommend family and friends. My friends and family consist of the chief of police of Yavapi County, multiple Prescott non profits in town and several other local businesses. There are other better restaurants. Employees like that create greater loss than the actual poor quality of food. read more

Last night, our food took almost an hour but once we got it, the flavor was fantastic! Here's the thing, the bartenders were extremely rude and have terrible customer service skills. The entire hour and a half we were sitting there I watched them speak with everyone that came after me. Very short and irritated, never smiled, could tell they were pissed off and didn't want to be there. It just made the entire experience uncomfortable. This is s 100 old saloon that once included a brothel upstairs. The bar only had a dozen seats but there are many tables. Normal pub food including steaks. We had a Rueben and Rings. Had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at this historic restaurant in Prescott. The decor and costumes worn by the staff took us back in time. The food was amazing and service was excellent. The burger was so juicy and flavorful. The Caesar salad was delicious too. My friends had the Cobb salad and the Ruben sandwich. They really enjoyed it. The portion size was huge as well. I wanted to love this place and when we first walked in, we did! It's such a cute historical bar. We were sat immediately around 5 pm on a Friday night. Our server got our appetizer and drinks to us quickly and I was thinking reviews of slow service had to be a thing of the past. But no, once it got slow it was SLOW. Our server was nice but always had an excuse to why something took so long or that she forgot something. The food is just not great. The kids burger to start was terrible; maybe just a frozen patty burnt to a crisp. The buffalo wings were good but at 17.50 a pop, pricey. They were supposed to be the $2.00 off for happy hour but of course our waitress forgot to do that. We didn't notice until after because we probably waited for our check for over half an hour and our table sat dirty for that time too. That is extremely frustrating when you have two toddlers with you. I would say skip this place. Maybe come for a drink at the bar to be able to enjoy the cute atmosphere. My wife were in Prescott on the way to the grand canyon and decided to give this legendary place a try. It was lunch time so we weren't starving but still hungry. The Palace is an old western saloon that Doc Holiday, Wyatt Earp and Virgil frequented quite a bit. We loved the place and the decor. The bartender who was awesome( Becca) was super friendly and very attentive. Jen ordered the half turkey soup combo, I ordered the Pastrami sandwich. Both were delicious. The pastrami comes on fresh pretzel roll and a dill pickle in the Middle. Yum. We started with the steaks bites which were ok. But the rest of the meal delicious. The Palace was our first stop in Prescott... Ye Olde west encapsulated in the oldest bar in Arizona! Also, live music happy hour! The bar had a few patrons at around 5PM on a Tuesday. The dining room in back was more crowded. The crowd skewed older, which is A-OK with me! The bartender was friendly enough and we ordered two pints of their beer (an ale and an IPA). Both were great; I think the ale was $2. We also had an old fashioned made with their own rye; it was excellent! The guy strumming his guitar was quite talented and we enjoyed listening to him while consuming the drinks. The other patrons were friendly and well behaved! The Palace is as iconic as Whiskey Row itself! It's a great place to drop in and grab an ice cold beverage (beer on tap?) and enjoy all the artifacts from days gone by. I have to say, I was very surprised that a "tourist spot" would end up having good food! We have taken some friends/family here because of the location and history, and ended up coming back on our own because the food was good. Come for the ambiance and history, don't expect a gourmet meal. The current average Yelp rating of 3.5 stars is right on point. I want to give it more, but the food just didn't do it for me or anyone in my group. The place is a bit touristy but it's cool, and the service is friendly. They have some things on display and some merch for sale. As for the food, here's my advice: -SKIP the smothered chicken. Pretty dry, a bit bland, and just overall pretty mediocre -GET the corn chowder. It's hearty and has big potato chuncks, and it's just really flavorful. A safe bet here. -Street tacos were just okay, better than the smothered chicken but not amazing. Definitely edible and I didn't hate it. Overall it was an experience that I should have expected, and it was probably worth eating there once. Would I go back? Absolutely not. This place is cool, but I don't recommend coming when they're super busy. We only had to wait 20 minutes to be seated, and our table was ready at 6:47pm. We walked over and got sat with menus at about 6:55pm. By 7:20pm we still hadn't been greeted by our server. We weren't sure if we'd been overlooked, so my husband politely asked the host and he said he would check in with our server. After another 5 minutes the host brought us waters and said our server would be over in a minute. We then waited another 10 minutes for the server to finally come and take our order. In total, it was about 40 minutes of waiting before we even saw the server and got our order taken. The host and server were both nice, so it's nothing against them. We saw our server running around like crazy and hustling to all of her other tables. It was obvious they had over sat her section/the restaurant. I'm not usually bothered by having to wait a little before the server comes by, but 40 minutes is pretty ridiculous. The party sitting next to us had the same experience. So just know if it's super busy you'll probably be waiting awhile to actually get served. Even after getting our order taken it was another 30 minutes before we got our food. Which normally wouldn't be a big deal but since we had already waited so long, it was disappointing. Food wise everything was fine. We got the beast burger with a side of coleslaw, campfire burger with fries, side of Mac n cheese, and a side of bunkhouse beans. Both burgers were good although lacked a little flavor. The fries were bomb! The Mac n cheese, coleslaw, and beans were all meh. Not bad but not crazy impressed. The saving grace for this visit was the ambiance. Went to The Frontier Palace for Thanksgiving. There was 4 of us. We each started with wine & beer. Seemed as if we had an untrained waiter or possibly new? Started off having to request place settings/ napkins, not that big of a deal. The waiter took our order... 3 turkey dinners and 1 prime rib dinner, all with salad to start, in a reasonable time. 2 of the guests asked for mostly dark meat, if possible and the waiter said, ok. It took a bit to get served. The salads arrived and immediately our dinners did too. Small table, no time to eat the salads, super crowded bunch of plates, the food was NOT warm at all. The potatoes & gravy were, maybe, room temp & paste like, yum, not. No dark meat!!! The waiter did not mention they only had slabs of white meat. Pretty sure no actual whole Turkeys were prepared. How can a waiter not know or describe what was being served? Nothing was remotely hot or even close to being warm. When one of the guests mentioned his dinner was cold, the waiter said, "sorry", walked away and didn't return until we were done. The prime rib was cool & dry but thankfully I had some luke warm au jus & horseradish to dip it in. The whole Thanksgiving dinner offer at The Palace seemed disorganized, not prepared properly and in turn, unappetizing. Each couple spent over $100 for mediocre service and a meal, I would never eat again. The best part of the night... the company & conversation!!! We waited an hour and ten minutes after we ordered our food and got slop. Needless to say, we sent it all back and left hungry. Good thing we did task for the manager after reading the reviews. I've been to several other restaurants on Whiskey Row but this was my first time at the Palace. I love the atmosphere. And it was busy for a Friday lunch crowd. I'm not gonna lie. The feminist in me hated the female servers' outfits but the lesbian in me loved them. But that's not why you're reading this review. I was actually surprised at how good the food was. I'm not sure why I had low expectations, but I was misguided. I had the fish tacos and they were some of the best fish tacos I've had. The sauce was delicious, the fish was light and crispy. I also thought it was clever that they put the sauce between the two corn tortillas. They overdid it a tiny bit on the slaw and pico, but overall I really enjoyed them. My parents both got the soup and half sandwich. They said the corn chowder was rich with a little bite. They liked it a lot. And my mom complimented them on their marbled rye. High praise from people who have eaten at a LOT of places in their lifetime. If you are coming to Prescott for a day or a weekend and want some of that old West feel that the town is known for, I highly recommend The Palace. read more

I read reviews before coming and noticed some mixed feedback about the food and service. We still came for the unique atmosphere and kept expectations low for the rest. I have to say, this place is the bomb!! So fun that the staff is in character. They were interactive with my kids and that made it really fun. The food was exceptional - one of the best turkey sandwiches I've ever had. That being said, the service WAS a little slow and one of the orders came out wrong, but I'm sure if I had told them they would have fixed it. And I totally forgot to ask what veggies ( they send me green beans ( greased ) I don't like green beans ..
